I did something really stupid with my SLK 350 hard-top convertible. A rubber mat I had left in the wrong place in the trunk got itself jammed deep in the folding mechanism - and the top was down! I was facing a probably expensive trip to a Mercedes-Benz dealer, more than two hours away, and with the possibility of rain on the way.... I had never been to this shop before, but I tried it on a recommendation and got immediate help from a skilled mechanic. He had a low-tech solution that saved the day with some simple common sense. He really saved my day, and I'm truly grateful. Thank you Jeff!

He fixed my car when no one else knew how including Chrysler who made the car (Crossfire). He kept me informed the whole time. Outstanding service, I will use this place whenever I need a mechanic, extremely knowledgeable of all cars.Barbara K.Service: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

I just had my first experience with this auto-mechanic and I was naturally nervous. You never know how good anyone is until they do the work. Thankfully this was a very positive experience. My issue was with a 1985 Mercedes 500 SEC that was overheating when the A.C. was running and the car was sitting in traffic. Jeff identified what the issue was (aux fan failing to turn on), fixed it and re-charged my r134, which was low. It now works fine. No over-heating issues. He also went through my suspension looking for a problem that might cause a vibration I have at highway speed. He did find the steering damper was weak and we had that replaced. He also determined my wheels or tires may not be quite right and a recent trip to a wheel shop confirmed I have two different problems (currently being dealt with). A shady mechanic would simply have started replacing struts, shocks, etc. Jeff did not do that. I must also say that in speaking with him about 1980's Mercedes he really knew his stuff. Not many do so I am lucky he is in town. This was a highly positive experience. I have attached a photo of my car so you can see the exact vehicle he worked on. Hopefully it shows up.2019 UPDATE: Last week I had my oil changed and asked him to look over my suspension. he did find some weaker points, but advised me to hold off as there was life left in those parts and not to spend money needlessly. Most places would just say DO IT RIGHT NOW, so that's some good old fashioned honesty.

It s hard to find reliable shops with a mechanic who knows old vehicles. We have used them multiple times and have always been happy with the price and result.

Omgoodness. 70 East was finally able to find the small leak I had in my VW Beetle after several other auto services could not. After paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars with others, 70 East found the issue, replaced a part, and solved my gas leak the first time! Thank you so much! I found an honest business and will continue to bring my car to you.

Jeff is a top-notch technician! He is professional, helpful, and has fair pricing. My German vehicle had been customized and had a lot of different things going on under the hood. No problem at all for Jeff because he's got tons of great experience and he is happy to put it to work. Also, as he was busy, he set up an appointment for me a week later. He was ready for me when I arrived and completed the repairs in the time frame exactly as promised. I highly recommend 70 East Foreign Auto!

Dropped off a 2002 Audi TT that had died on me on the way to work to get diagnosed after being quoted $100 diagnosis fee that can be used towards repair costs if I decided to use him which was pretty standard to what I've had in the past. He had the car for 1 day and replaced the battery without clearing or quoting the repair with me and charged me over $400 (battery part cost was $165) so more than $240 in labor to change a battery. The car started so I was irritated at the price for a battery change that couldn't have taken more than 5 minutes but I was happy to have the car working and he said that's all that needed done. 3 days later (the first day I drove it after picking it up) less than 30 miles since I left the shop the same thing happens and the audi shuts down again and he wants me to pay him again to look at the car. Don't use this place I'm warning you out of extreme irritation and I hope you don't make the same mistake I did. I've had Audi repairs on this car that have cost me over $3,500 but it actually included work and fixed the problem. Also I agree with the above reviewer about the easily confused/disorganized elderly woman running the front desk.

The lady that answers the phone is very old and easily confused. They wanted an exorbitant amount to change a front wheel bearing. The VW Bentley Manual (official VW repair manual) says 1.5 or so hours. They were talking 2.5 here. And they said the bearing kit cost over $100. When I told her I could just get my own for $50 then she still said it would cost $216. Ain't no way they know what they are doing if that's the case.

Very pleasant people. However we had a problem arise from the repair, which they attempted to make right for us. Sadly, in the course of that re-repair another issue resulted due to either accident or sloppy work, the other agency that was involved (Safelite)claimed they were not responsible for the issue, and the garage said it was on Safelite's onus. Thus after many attempts to resolve this, and three visits from Safelite which showed the wires were cut and not their (Safelite's) fault we accepted we will end up eating this repair to make us whole again. Sad cause this all happened during an extreme hardship in my life. I hope not to use either agency again.

Fixed our issue on the Mercedes we have right away. Even cut a deal on labor since it was just sensors that were the issue.
