Was here vacationing at our house and started leaking oil. Even though they were booked solid, they were able to fit me in very last minute, diagnose the issue, and clean things up in order to get out of town as scheduled. They wouldn't let me pay a thing. Rest assured that anytime my family or I are down here, we will definitely be using them for any and all car care needs! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Left my car for a balance, and state inspection. I had wipers in my backseat they put those on for me! They called when it was ready. Great service, great prices-no bologny.

I live down in Avon. While up the beach for an appointment, my truck overheated. I was a wreck after the last few weeks I have had with family stuff. I went in bawling and in a panic. The lady at the front got someone to look at it. They had it fixed the next day. Thankfully it was an easy fix. I appreciate them fixing it so quickly and being so kind to me in my distress.

I was here from out of town and my Volvo suddenly quit running. I was concerned it was a serious problem. While very busy Ocean Auto was able to squeeze me in with a day. Jason quickly found the problem and repaired it for a reasonable price. He was very nice, honest and explained everything that had gone wrong. He even showed me the part that had broken. Had a serious component failure in Nags Head NC. asked AAA to take car to a AAA certified repair shop...Ocean Auto Repair recd the car......problem was identified and repaired. While completing the repair, they discovered another issue....gave me a detailed explanation completed a temporary fix suitable to get me home( 10 hr trip). This shop was very professional...I was at their mercy and I believe I was treated fairly....If I lived in this area, they would be my repair shop. Jason, the service mgr, has 20+ years of experience at a Ford dealership and it showed. So Ocean Auto, thanks for getting me home.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Jason was extremely knowledgeable and was able to diagnose and quickly fix an issue with my 2010 Chevy Silverado that was smoking from the exhaust at startup. Down here on vacation with my family and my steering seemed to almost go out. Oceans was able to get me in quickly and discovered my 2021 trailboss steering shaft connector bolt came off and was on the verge of falling apart. We were away from home on the Outer Banks when we realized our air conditioning was not working in our car. A stranger recommended Ocean Auto Repair and we met Jason and his crew who gave us more attention than we could have imagined. After running the diagnostic test and discovering the problem they set us an appointment for the next morning. Jason offered to leave us his truck at our hotel the next morning, drive our car into OAR, and by the time we needed to check out of our Hotel, our car was ready! The problem was fixed and we were on our way home. More than that, we had met people who could not have treated us nicer. Thanks. This is an enthusiastic endorsement!Service: Air conditioning

I really cannot say enough good about this place. I walked in a total stranger stranded with car problems and Jason was incredibly kind and patient in dealing with my situation. Even though the shop was busy my problem was dealt with expeditiously and my gratitude is enormous. He literally saved my day and in fact my entire trip. I would go to Ocean Auto any day of the week. To avoid a goose, I drove over a curb and did some damage to the undercarriage. After a sleepless night worrying if the car was safe to drive, we took it to Ocean Auto Repair based on the reviews. They couldn t look at the car then but asked us to come back early afternoon. Everyone is right about Jason! He got on the ground and said it wasn t anything to worry about. We were on vacation and our wipers stopped working. It was the mechanism that needed replaced. Given the weather forecast that week, we needed a quick repair for our time there and safe return home. We called a couple places but Jason at Ocean Auto Repair was able to get us in quickly. He got it fixed that day with the needed GM part - and even notified me about a recall on that item, which I can submit for reimbursement! Excellent customer service and professionalism!!

I had my car towed here when the electrical system suddenly went haywire, with various systems staying on after car was turned off. Jason diagnosed the problem quickly, and took great care to determine which parts were the affected ones so he replaced only those that needed to be. He kept me informed of progress all along the way, fixed my car and repaired the source of all the problems. He is knowledgeable, honest, fair, and diligent. Highly recommend. I starting using them about 7 months ago and this place is awesome. They are very fair and won't do work you don't need. They even fixed a very difficult AC issue and it's been fine ever since. Use for routine service as well as issues I've had come up as I put about 65,000 miles a year on my car. Again I highly recommend Ocean Auto.

I found out about this place from Jordan who works up front. I was very pleased with this shop! It is extremely clean and everyone there is very nice. Jason worked on my car and was not only super kind, but he was honest. I am very fortunate to have found this shop that works on imports. Price was very reasonable and I left knowing I found where we will continue taking our cars. I was on vacation and my alternator decided to fail. Jason and his staff was very helpful in helping fix the issue. Jason got the job done in a very fast manner and was very professional, probably my most positive experience I ve ever had at a auto shop. This will make my vacations at Nagshead less stressful knowing I have a awesome mechanic willing to help with any issues that come my way. We were at tail end of our family s vacation in obx when my power steering hose leaked out. Wasn t sure what was wrong. Other mechanics could not even see me until Monday, but ocean auto got me in that day and fixed the problem for super cheap. Thank you soooo much Jason! My whole family s trip was made better by your professionalism. My wife and family were down in obx for a mini vacation and on our first day we noticed a battery light appeared on our Lexus. As a mechanic I went to Ocean Auto.. It s a long story of how I clipped off my side mirror on a tree branch and after visiting two other repair shops completely disinterested in my plight, ended up at Ocean Auto. I was traveling to NYC in two days for my son s wedding and needed that mirror! Jason made it happen. Since then he s replaced all fluids and solved a water leak in the cabin of our CRV.The important thing about the service is that Jason and his staff make you feel like friends, that they are concerned with your particular problem and are ready to help you with honesty and at a fair price. An Outer Banks treasure for visitor and resident alike.

They have a great team of mechanics and they try to get a response back to you as soon as possible if they are doing a diagnostic test for you. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. We have plenty of family members who also use their services and they're always very pleased with the service.

What an amazing experience. While on vacation, my drive train belt shredded. They took me as soon as i could get towed there and fixed it in a couple of hours. They were kind, courteous, and reasonably price. Thank you Ocean Auto!! You made what could have been disastrous, reasonably pleasant!!

On vacation in the Outer Banks and went to go out, the car would not go in drive and finally got stuck in park. I had it towed to repair shop. They were kind enough to fix in less than four hours and very reasonably.I would recommend this shop highly. Jason is very honest!Service: Transmission

I had a concern for safe operation on my vehicle as I came into the Outer Banks area. I stopped at one place it would be two days before they could check it out. Went to ocean Auto Repair and they first said they couldn't check it that day. The service writer talked to some one and they decided to work me in. I really appreciated this since I was from out of town. They even allowed me to look under the car myself. Thanks to all the management and staff. In town visiting from Massachusetts for week long vacation. My 2010 Rav4 was making horrible loud crash sound whenever I made left turns. My two concerns were 1- that car wouldn't be safe to drive home to MA and 2- Once my out of state plates were seen I would be fleeced with a huge repair bill; I was at their mercy. Car was diagnosed and a temporary repair was done but was given the green light that car would be safe to drive to MA where the bigger part of the repair could be dealt with. I have used Jason for a variety of existing issues with my Tahoe. From transmission replacement and coolant issues to broke down hours away from home and was given 100% of his attention to walk me thru a fix to get both home and time to raise the funds to fix the problem. Every experience has been honest, informative, and again given his time to explain all options. The work is on time and often done on my time and convenience.As a resident of Dare county I can say that Ocean Atuo and their team have done this county, and in my opinion this region a great justice.Don t take my word on this just call them when your anywhere between an inconvenience and boarder line hopeless. It s hard to fine a place to fix your auto issues and leave in a pleasant mood. Took my wife's 2012 jeep there after we got a 9,000 dollar quote from the jeep Dealership in Kitty Hawk. Jason took a look at it and had it fixed within a day for less than 1,200 dollars. I highly recommend and will be taking my vehicles there.
