I brought my 2014 4Runner for a viper cut for a little more front end clearance. I asked the shop if they were familiar with the task. I was assured he was aware of what I was talking about. well 2 hours later, my bumper is ruined beyond repair. He cut it to high, left rough edges on all the surfaces. Randomly bent and zip tied the inner fenders to random places. It is the worst viper cut I ve seen on a 5th gen 4Runner. My truck is ruined and it can t be fixed because he cut it to high. Only correction is to replace the entire front bumper and inner fenders . DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I asked for an impossible job... These guys put 285/55/20's on a 2010, 2WD, 4 Cylinder Tacoma! Needed a partial lift kit, some trimming, and a lot of experience to get this done. The Truck looks and rides better than I ever imagined it could. Check out the Before and After Photos! William at the front desk is one cool cat and Kristoff is the man. Really talented good dudes... HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Couldn't be happier with the major engine work performed on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. Had a pair of new cylinder heads installed, and the vehicle is like new again. I'm extremely picky about my truck, and from start to finish, these guys went above and beyond to exceed my expectations. Thanks so much. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting and utilizing the services of Tarheel 4WD Center, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped foot into the facility, I was greeted by a team of knowledgeable and friendly staff members who were eager to assist me with my truck maintenance needs. The first thing that struck me about this repair shop was its cleanliness and organization. The entire facility was well-maintained, providing a professional and efficient atmosphere. The attention to detail was evident, from the neatly arranged tools to the clearly labeled workstations, reflecting a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Moreover, the repair shop's dedication to timeliness was remarkable. They promptly began working on my truck and efficiently completed the repairs within the estimated timeframe. This level of efficiency ensured minimal disruption to my schedule and allowed me to get back on the road as quickly as possible.Lastly, the pricing at this truck repair shop was fair and reasonable. Considering the high-quality service and expertise provided, I found their rates to be quite competitive compared to other establishments in the area. The transparency in pricing also added to the overall positive experience, as I felt that I was receiving excellent value for my money. In conclusion, I highly recommend this truck repair shop to anyone in need of professional and reliable truck maintenance services. Their knowledgeable staff, exceptional customer service, transparency, timeliness, and fair pricing are a testament to their commitment to excellence. I will undoubtedly be returning to this establishment for all my future truck repair needs, knowing that my vehicle will be in capable hands.

Edit again: after breaking my shock 2x and taking my truck to a more experienced 4wd center, Tarheel put the wrong size shock on which is why it kept breaking. Go somewhere else folks.EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: Make no mistake, I have the correct shop, 100%. Work is not in my name. Additionally, pressure sensors are worth about $50 each. Wouldve been nice for those not to have been taken by your shop so I could resell the wheels/tires like I planned!Choose another business, I know I will! #1 I paid $5k for a lift and brand new wheels and tires. Found a plug in my BRAND NEW tire. #2 the original 4 wheels/tires I had to ask them to give me back were missing the stems. DO NOT TRUST TARHEEL!!

Brought my Jeep into this shop a couple of times for modifications but actually stopped because it always seemed like there was an issue with my Jeep after a couple of installs. This business is very eager when it comes to sales but if you need assistance with a warranty issue on a part they installed GOODLUCK! I purchased power stop brakes almost two years ago but the Caplier seized preventing the tire from rotating. The warranty on the website says it s good for 3years. Well, I called Tarheel 4x4 to confirm the exact install date and if it would be covered for repair. Let s just say William was nonchalant about the matter and not as eager to assist as he was when I was purchasing parts for Mods. I was given the run around and told that power stop told them to contact the business that sold the part. William told me he emailed the business, not called BUT EMAILED. I explained that this issue was time sensitive since it s my only vehicle. THREE WEEKS LATER I STILL haven t heard anything back from Tarheel 4x4 and had to get the work done (non power stop Cap) at the dealership.Services: Engine repair, Brakes

The guys at Tarheel 4WD were great for me. I thought I had a transmission issue and they recommended a specialist and then they did an engine diagnostics for me and slapped some new tires on my 76 Jeep. I will definitely be going back next time my Jeep needs some work from an expert.Services: Tires, Auto engine diagnosticServices: Tires, Auto engine diagnostic

After having my jeep looked at by another local "chain" shop, I decided to keep an appointment with Tarheel 4wd. I am so glad I did. After receiving a quote of over $1500 for a complete rebuild of my rear differential I gave them a call. Steve walked me through what they would do and assured me they would only replace what was needed. I went out this morning and spend the first half of the day watching these guys work. I am somewhat mechanically inclined (I can do brakes, change a water pump and alternator, etc) and I was impressed at how these guys worked. They walked me through every step...had me check the ring and pinion gears and gave me options. I opted to replace what was broke and not have them try to milk a little more time from the hardware. all said and done, they saved me $900. Not to mention my jeep drives smooth with no sign of the noises that I had when I brought it in.While the repair is still fresh and there could be something that goes south, I am very satisfied with the experience. Steve and Dave are the dynamic duo. Anything that I don't feel comfortable doing will end up at their shop from now on.

Ron runs a top notch shop. Decades of experience provide invaluable advice, and his selection of quality products is extensive. I've always had great treatment by Ron and his mechanics, with outstanding workmanship on my Jeep. The new location is fantastic, and be sure to say hello to Chloe the shop dog when you are here.

So we called 9 AM in the morning and had no answer from this company. Supposedly they open at eight. Then I called at 10 AM and A lady answered that had no clue about four-wheel-drive accessories. so a guy name William called an hour later. Had no interest in talking to me whatsoever. Very not interested in clueless of what he was doing. I asked him if I could send him my email so he can see what exactly I m needing on my brand new vehicle. Finally I got his email after an hour later. Sent him a photo of what exactly I m needing on my vehicle. He never replied on the email he never took any interest whatsoever to show any type of salesmanship to a valued customer. Finally I decided to call the company again, he answers the phone and tells me that his boss was way too busy to reply to my email. I asked him what do we do from here. And he was completely mute on the telephone. I highly do not recommend this company to no one!!! Not professional at all!

I m very pleased with my experience at Tarheel. They were very nice and customer friendly. They helped me pick out my lift for my1978 K10 4WD. I got a 6 BDS ON 35 s. It looks awesome. I am very happy. They ran into a snag and I needed a new steering gearbox...after 41 years it finally gave out. Guess they don t make them like they used to. Lol. They put it on, no problem. Great job guys.Thanks.Jeremy Loyd

I came in first thing in the morning to have a leveling kit installed on my truck and the installation was quick and the price was fair. Plus the peace of mind of know the job was done right is always a plus. I will be coming back for my future needs such as lift kits and things of that nature.

I wanted a little lift to my 2016 Tacoma and add some bigger tires. Ron did an outstanding job in giving me the look I wanted. Price was more reasonable compared to other shops. I highly recommend Tarheel 4WD Center for your off road needs. The work was done in April 2017 and it looked better than I had expected.

Just had a lift and tires installed on my Jeep by the guys here at Tarheel 4WD and couldn't be more happy with how it came out. Ron walked me through some different options and answered every question I had during the process. Very smooth process and you can tell they know what they are doing. Highly recommend to anyone needing part/accessories for their 4wd in the area. Thanks again!

Had an issue with a locking hub while I was driving from Florida up to Connecticut; got a reference for them from another shop down in SC. Steve, Kristoff and crew were great and extremely accommodating. They were able to diagnose the problem and used their ingenuity to get me back on the road and good as new without me having to waste money on a new hub. Thanks again guys!

The store itself wasn't that nice. Seemed very old. Came in asking about trying to get a quote for some issues I've been having. I explained the situation and before I could even finish he stopped me and said there is nothing he could do for more and that they were booked til the end of the month. I was just trying to get some information and some other povs but they seemed to busy for me. I will be taking my business to 4wheel parts in Charlotte a lot nicer store and customer service seemed a lot better just over the phone!

Andy and team have been wonderful to deal with as they work through the various issues on my 1981 Jeep Scrambler. Electrical is not my thing, but it is Andy's. He has been professional and thorough every step of the rewiring process; keeping me well informed. More importantly, Andy is very proactive in his approach; thinking ahead and using his many years of experience building rock buggies and various projects that come through Tar Heel's doors. The folks at Tar Heel know Jeeps very well and know what it takes to keep them on the road. Old Jeeps are problem prone and these guys drive them daily as well as work on them. There are plenty of shops in the area that will work on your JK, but not many that can knowledgeably work on a CJ. Ron behind the counter can find anything. Andy and the team in the shop seem to be able to fix anything. I am glad I took my Scrambler there and, when I need to, I will continue to consider them my go-to team.

I had Tarheel 4-Wheel Drive spray in a line-x bed liner for me. I've read the reviews online for line-x and what everyone says is the product is great but the results of the installation come down to the work quality of the specific installer. For this reason I thought it would be worthwhile to take time off work and go to Tarheel 4wd.The sprayed bedliner they installed looks great. however, It wasn't until a few days later that I realized I have over-spray all over the hood of my brand new Silverado.. I called the shop, they told me to bring it back and they'd wipe it down with alcohol. And after a little research I learned this is not the safest fix for overspray as it takes all the wax off the vehicle. I wound up spending ours clay baring the overspray off and rewaxing the front end..
