I was assigned Matthews Towing by AAA and I couldn t be more satisfied with my experience. The gentleman that helped tow my car was so kind and he did well transporting my vehicle. I liked how he held conversation with us during the process and was very kind with every word he spoke. We followed him to where my car was going and he was a great driver. He followed all road laws and it made my mind at ease knowing a safe and law abiding person was transporting my vehicle! Would recommend this company to anyone!

No I didn't forget... And I wasn't going to do it... But every time I get in my car I get angry at the damage that they did.1. They destroyed my dashboard in order to fix something under the hood. They literally just threw it back in and said that it was too difficult to find a replacement dashboard so oh well. Now I have to ride around with engine noise and fumes that come from under the hood.2 They took my hood off to complete the same service and didn't put it back on correctly. The lifters were disconnected and thehook that props the hood up was missing. I confronted them about this and was told that they would fix it "as a courtesy". But is it really a courtesy that you had to fix something that you broke in the first place? Lucky me.3. I installed a new stereo from Best Buy prior to taking my car to have it serviced. I got my car back and the stereo wires, hands free microphone were totally screwed. Now I can't use the darn thing because the sensors that connect the car functions to the stereo don't work. I have no Bluetooth, and I can't reset any of the factory settings because the stereo won't acknowledge the car is even in park. Who's going to have to pay for all this?Bottom line...They used to be excellent before the pandemic. Not sure what happened, but the quality of service really tanked.

If I could leave less I would. My husband and I own a mechanic shop and this company was delivering a car to our neighbor (we share a parking lot). He was backing in for some reason, the parking lot is big enough for them to pull in and turn around, and he backed in to one of our customers vehicles hard. Completely dented the fender and bumper. We just got an alignment on this truck so knocked out too. When we approached the driver we expected him to be apologetic, while he was nice per say, he just kept saying it s not a big deal and it was an accident . Accidents do happen but this one could have been prevented. The driver was laughing at how upset my husband was instead of being sympathetic. We called this company and got the same tone from the receptionist. Not once did anyone even apologize or take responsibility. They stated they would contact our customer and square it away with them. I just want to ensure my customer, who trusted us with their vehicle, gets better customer service then we did. I added a picture to show the space and that there was plenty of room.Update- it s July 18th, 3 weeks later and the vehicle has not been repaired at all.

I just want to take the time out to thank Marcus for excellent service. I got a flat tire and didn't have a spare. He came out, found me, hooked up the car to the bed and towed it the tire shop. He had great communication and I would recommend Matthew towing as long as they ask for Marcus

Matthews Towing showed up to take my vehicle to the mechanic. The driver backed in to my vehicle breaking the tail light and denting the bumper. The driver took full responsibility and gave us the number to the owner of the company. We called Tom Emech (registered owner of company on NC Secretary of State website) and he apologized and said he would send a new tail light and to get estimates and he would just cut us a check for the repairs. This happened in august 2022 and here it is almost November and he has done everything he can to avoid our phone calls. We try to support small business whenever we can and this is making it very hard. Just do the right thing!!

Horrible experience. My husband waited a total of 4 hours (night time & in a parking lot) ) to tow our Jeep. We have AAA but unfortunately they were busy and contracted out with Matthews Towing.They sent 2 different types of trucks over 4 hrs & said they could not finish the job. We had to leave our vehicle overnight and AAA came out and successfully towed it.Mathews Towing could have done it, but they quit on the job. They get paid to show up, not to finish the job. Insane.We will be filing a complaint with AAA but if you're sitting on the side of the road right now trying to figure out who to call , don't call them!

The best towing company I ve ever experienced in my entire life!!!!Ms Kim is the sweetest boss lady you ll ever speak to! She runs the show. What I would call the Tom Brady of the operation. I have 2006 F-350 dually pickup truck (the big one). I ve went through 3 towing companies and got turned down everytime because of the size of my truck, stating that it was too big. I was frustrated and I can t lie I wanted to cry, my personal work truck broke down in the middle of December in the middle of the holiday season.I expressed what I was going through and she said confidently said she ll send me one of her most experienced drivers! In less than an hour a guy name Randy who is basically the Randy Moss of the operation! He put my truck on that flat bed and secured in less than 10 minutes after 3 different companies came and turned me down. Randy smiled and took my truck away. Not to mention they also have an Automotive Center that specializes in Diesel Repairs as well which is rare and very important for Diesel Pickup Truck.Just when I thought I ve experienced the best service, I received a call from their dispatcher named Kristen . Not sure if I spelled her name correctly but she called to make sure I was happy and satisfied with my service after the service was complete to reassure that they had my back. That customer service was better than chik-fil-a. And my expectations were definitely exceeded and my day went from bad to good. I recommend Matthew s Towing anyone!!!! Especially us guys with large pick up trucks.So thank you Ms Kim, Kristen & Randy.5 Stars10/10

I was rear ended and needed my car towed. AAA connected me with Matthews Towing. After 2 hours of waiting, I call to see where the truck was. I was told by them that the driver called me and said I didn t need a tow anymore - but I was never contacted by and never spoke to the driver.If I hadn t called to check the status, I never would have know the driver decided he wasn t going to come.0/10. Do not use this company.

2.5 hrs in unsafe dark area w my wife and immediately after driver and one dispatcher confirmed imminent arrival Darby in dispatch cancelled us over driver objection and kicked us back into AAA cue to start over, stating Indian Land isnt in Clt area. What? She couldn't have been more unprofessional and combative. Came to learn from others for Matthews towing this is SOP. Steagall Towing later came through.

Called them several times to pick up my car since battery was dead in my driveway, many hours later from 6:00 til 9:30 pm they finally arrived. First driver that was " supposedly dispatched" said he called and drove by and there was no answer, my husband was sitting on the porch for hrs with the phone ,and the driver never drove by, he lied! and the dispatcher said later when my husband called them AGAIN she said , oh he probably wanted to go home, it was the end of his shift! So she said someone will be there in another hour! I can't believe you people and we have been members since 1996 too. Hope to never call you all again!! Will not recommend you people ever!! Sorry service that's for sure. The driver who FINALLY showed up, did a good job, knew what he was doing, think his name was Matthew. At least he knows HIS JOB!!

Probably one of the worst places of business in general.My Acura TL was at the Lexus dealership and needed to be picked up and dropped off at the Acura dealership for service. The tow truck driver had dropped off at the wrong dealership.So StateFarm set up Matthews Towing. The Driver called me to confirm vehicle details etc etc. Then he says he towed the car. After 24hrs of searching for itat the Acura Dealership lot, I drove to Lexus and my car was literally sitting there unmoved.I called Matthews Towing back and the lady on the phone who told me a day prior that they had dropped off my car correctly at 12:34pm is rude and nonchalant. I can t imagine a Lexus dealership parking lot full of silver Acura TLs so he towed the correct car . I tell her I am sitting right next to the car at Lexus dealership where it was supposed to be picked up from and that doesn t stop her from repeating insatiably what she had already said. She ended up insulting my intelligence, mouthing off and then hanging up while I was trying to talk. There has to be a reason why some of the people working for tow companies are so ignorant, condescending and incompetent all at the same time.I wouldn t bother dealing with this place or its employees even if I was stranded and they were the only ones available to help.

I went to a neighbor's house to provide medical transportation for her. My battery died in her driveway. I have AAA, so I called them and Matthews Towing arrived and I purchased a battery from them and they installed it and left. When I started the car, lights started flashing indicating there is a problem. I called Matthews towing and they said it was normal and to drive it. I drove the car to my reputable mechanic who checked it out. The window and door lock would not work. The mechanic checked it out and determine a fuse was blown whenever the battery was installed. The bill was $50.00. I called Matthews towing who requested the bill in order to reimburse me. I made a copy and sent it that day. A couple of weeks later I called to check on it and they informed me the bill had not been received. I made another copy and sent to them. Same thing. They said they didn't receive the bill. I would not recommend using Matthews Towing again.

Dangerous. Got behind one of their trucks, empty, going 40 on a 55mph road in Concord. I can see driver was on the phone so waited until passing zone. He would go no faster than 45mph. Got to a clear passing zone, and passed. Boy, now he is angry, I was going 50-55mph and he as on my bumper the next 6 miles to the intersection, the whole time accelerating as if he was going to ram me and backing up. Dangerous drivers. Kept making hand gestures every time he rode my bumper. What is the malfunction on these people? You want to go slow, go slow. Some of us need to work and dont need to waste time.

Matthews Towing is awesome. Shout out to Lauren!! AAA left me hanging on the side of the freeway waiting 2 hours for a battery. They then proceed to tell me that the next truck will be there in 3 more hours! Lauren worked her magic and got me a tow truck within the hour. She also followed up with me once my car arrived at the facility. Great customer service, I can t thank her enough for all her help.

Dead alternator and Reggie came out from Matthews Towing & Automotive. It was 7am in the morning and feeezing outside. Reggie was a nice guy and very helpful. He walked up with a smile on his face and helped me get my car towed. He was quick and efficient and assured me my vehicle was in good hands. I can t say thank you enough to Reggie for giving legendary customer service. You don t see that a lot these days and I am VERY appreciative. Thank You Reggie!

The dispatcher was friendly and efficient on the phone. When Randy arrived to tow my car he arrived quickly, provided updates and etas, was courteous/careful with my vehicle and kind. By far the best towing experience I ve had in Charlotte. Thank you!

Matthews Towing took excellent care of me. They were very prompt even with horrible weather. Roman was the driver and suggested a different plan than I had expected and got me back on the road instead of a one-way ticket to my car dealer. I am definitely thankful and Roman deserves a shout-out. Thanks again and this company will have my business from here on out.

I was broke down in a rain storm this past holiday weekend and the customer service was awful. AAA provided Matthew Towing and a young lady told me, I m not stuck on the side of the road, you are ,and rudely hang up the phone on me. The worst customer service I ve ever dealt with. I hope they have the audio so they can hear what happened in its entirely. Horrible experience and the young lady needs to TERMINATED!!!!!!!

Unfortunately my car wouldn t start today when I left work. Used my triple A to request a tow and they sent out Randy Klein. I don t usually leave reviews but I need to leave one for this guy. He was so polite, worked hard, and had great conversation. Made me feel like my car was in good hands. Over allGreat experience. Thanks randy!

SCAM ARTISTS DO NOT TRUST!!! Triple A assigned this company to tow my car to a service shop. The towing truck and rep came, hooked my car up and held it ransom essentially until I paid $$$ to have it towed. The rep had the audacity to even say that instead of paying $$$, I could pay him slightly less in cash directly and no one would know and so it would be a deal. I said NO! I need evidence that this company charged me, so I could investigate after. I called triple A immediately after, and they said this was a common scam companies pull to get more money on top of insurance claims. DO NOT TRUST!!

After calling AAA for a tow a very prompt, courteous driver was dispatched. The company said they could service the vehicle for us. When we arrived, the mechanic was rude and dismissive, informed us that they would not work on it until Monday. I told them they had wasted my time and that I would have had it towed elsewhere.They refused to change the tow destination and I had to call AAA to intervene. This lost me another hour.I am formally lodging a complaint with AAA, and I would never recommend this company. Ever

I don't understand the poor reviews this place got, but, my experience was awesome they came through when I needed them the most. Some kids in my apartment complex slashed all 4 tires, and that was so heavy on me because I never experienced this here in Charlotte but, it's getting pretty bad here and the tow truck driver was very nice and just knowing that they were here for me meant alot. Thank you guys so much.

Broke down on a recent weekend visit to Charlotte and Matthews Towing & Automotive was the only place still open at nearly 6pm on a Friday. The dispatcher was kind and efficient and the car was towed away within about an hour.Left car overnight with the expectation of a diagnostic the following (Saturday) morning. The issue was a failed fuel pump that had already been replaced not too long ago and was still under warranty. Matthews would not honor warranty nor would they call Advance Auto where the part was purchased to verify warranty. Total job with labor, towing, and parts was $970.We were back on the road by late Saturday afternoon, but by the time we put gas in again on Monday, it was clear that the job hadn't been done correctly. Fuel poured out of the underside of the vehicle as it was pumped in and the stench of gasoline in the backseat was overwhelming. We were able to make it back to Matthews where they fixed the seal that hadn't been properly installed. Unfortunately, there was no apology, no acknowledgement of their screw up, just a "these things happen" excuse. (These things do NOT happen. This was clearly a mechanic who was either sloppy in their work or just didn't know what they were doing in the first place.)While they were able to help me in a pinch, being charged so much for shoddy work overshadows anything else.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

AVERY called and said he needed my keys since I was not there. He told me it was okay that he was gonna take care of my car and take it without keys. He said it was policy but he specifically said he did not care. An hour later I called him and he said he did not pick it up because his boss told him not to. I then asked him why he never called me. He said insurance is supposed to call me. He probably was the one who stole my resonator too. He needs to be fired! I m gonna figure what happened with authorities.

This location is partnered with triple AAA and Krysten poorly handled a towing request. She was very rude, and being that triple AAA is a trust roadside assistance company I expected professionalism. Krysten is a horrible representation of this company, and I hope Tom (which is the owner) sees this.

Allstate hired Matthews Towing to pick up my disabled car. They stood me up, and when I called them back they said the truck wouldn't be there for another 45-60 min. I told them that's fine but the truck really needs to show up this time because the accident site isn't near where I live. The woman on the phone kept saying "I can't guarantee an exact time", to which I replied "that's not what I'm asking for". I hung up. Waited an hour. They cancelled my appt. to spite me.Fast forward 3 hours, Allstate called them to reschedule and Matthews asked that I call them directly to schedule. I did, and they told me they had no knowledge of my car. You know, the one they already had scheduled to pick up and they were talking to Allstate about. They're clearly messing with me to get back at me for hanging up on them.

I use Verizon Roadside and they called this towing company to tow my husband's vehicle. I had a great experience and Frederuck the driver was so professional and very friendly. He was great! Very fast and accurate with no issues with the tow. So thankful they sent Frederick to do this and will use them for my towing needs again. I will definitely request Frederick if he is available. Thank you for a job well done!
