If I could give less than a star, I would absolutely do it. This place is a freaking joke. I lied about putting parts on a car that they didn t put on the car and then when you asked for the receipts for it, they don t want to give that because it s supposed to customer information and they don t have to give it out so I bought parts for my vehicle that I can t turn in, the claims company because they didn t put what they said they put on there and they lied. Don t take your money to this place get robbed somewhere else cause it s 100% you re gonna get taken here.

I paid $800 for them to fix my truck.That was overheating. I paid for a new water pump thermostat.And intake manifold gasket.Which they said we're all bad. Truck still overheats.they did not even change the thermostat after charging me for all three.took it out and gasket and thermostat were old and crumbling.i called them they wanted me to bring it back and they were going to charge me even more money when they didn't fix the problem with the first 800 dollars.not a chance.dont use these people at all

Went in for honest work came out with a motor "issue". Not even your last resort should you bring your car here! This place was my worst experience!!

I was very pleased with the job they did for me to replace valve cover gaskets on my SUV. The cost for the job was well within my budget. Everyone from the lady at the front desk right down to the one who shows you what they did very courteous and family oriented. Will go back!! A+ guys

These guys are good at fixing vehicles. Our Ford F150 front drivers side caliper got stuck shut coming down 221 from Spruce Pine. We arrived at Camping World in Marion but noticed a bad smell and smoke coming from behind the front driver side wheel. I called Derek's muffler and automotive repair at 1:45 p.m. on a Saturday. They close at 2:00 on Saturdays, but we're kind enough to fix our truck so we could take our camper home. The mechanic that worked on the caliper and rotor and brake pads on the front driver side was also kind enough to put the two extra pads that came with the other two on the passenger side. All this was done at a reasonable price. They did not raise the price because it was Saturday and they did not raise the price because they worked an hour overtime. I extremely urge you if you ever have problems in the Marion area to go to Derek's muffler and automotive repair! They will do you right and fix it right!

Definitely recommend. My Jeep died on my trip to North Carolina from the Midwest and these people did all they could and beyond to help us out knowing we were pretty stranded at the time. They even looked over my vehicle to troubleshoot problem at no charge.Honest, friendly family business . Highly recommend

These guys were awesome!! We were traveling and had trouble with the brakes on our truck. We had already spent a considerable amount of money getting the brakes fixed only to drive on to Marion and had the same problem. Derrick's Mufer knew exactly the problem, stopped what they were doing and got parts and repaired in about 2hrs for a lot less than we had earlier paid. They know vehicles!!

They do not stand behind work went in for simple brake job month later took off wheel found brakes were put on wrong went to show them pictures of their mistake will not stand behind their work even if you been going there for years never be back if they put on brakes I recommend you a better place

Completely misdiagnosed my problem. It was obvious even to me as I pulled my struggling car off the highway that I had a transmission issue. I told them that, they disagreed, said I needed a new alternator and radiator. 800 bucks later and surprise, I got 10 miles down the highway and started having the same problem, engine revving but vehicle not accelerating. Took it to a transmission specialist....what a surprise, I need a new transmission. Don't come to this place, they either don't know what they're doing or intentionally do unnecessary work.

I was camping in Marion and my truck blew out a brake line. These guys helped me on a Saturday. Did a great job on the repair and were very reasonable, did not try to take advantage of me being from out of town. I highly recommend them and would use them again.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

I took my car to this shop, dropped it off around 4:15 and they said they would look at what s wrong with it first thing in the morning. I never got a call back so I called around lunch time to see if they looked at it, they said they are in the process of looking at it. Still didn t get a call back that day so the following day I called at 12. They said the guy looked at my car but was eating and would call me back to tell me what s wrong with it. Never heard back from them so I just went up there to get my car back and saw my car was parked at the side of the building next to other cars and looked like it was never touched!!! Yeah I m not going back.

My husband had his radiator replaced here. When we brought it home, it was leaking transmission fluid and coolant so we took it back. They said they didn't know why it was leaking and couldn't help us. We had to wait several months to be able to afford to have another mechanic look at it. The competent mechanic said the radiator was faulty and the hoses had not even been tightened! Basically it was gross incompetence that the leak was not identified and corrected by Derek's. The new mechanic advised that the faulty radiator should be covered under warranty, but when I requested that Derek's honor the warranty on the part they installed they refused, because they said they didn't warranty other people's work. They installed the radiator and were presented with the opportunity to fix the problem and refused, so we had no choice but to take it to another mechanic. I don't think they even tried to see why it was leaking, because it was ridiculously obvious. Do yourself a favor and use a reputable mechanic, not these guys.We are now out another $740 to fix their mistakes and replace a faulty part out of pocket that should have been covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We also had issues with my car repair around the same time. I will never use this shop again and will tell anyone I know to steer clear of their shoddy work and business practices. Finding a good mechanic can be difficult and we took a chance here and were burned. I'm so glad we found someone else that is honest and capable.

We had to take our car back three times because they said they fixed it and it kept doing the same thing. They put used parts on it and charged us almost $500. They kept the car there for a week and didn't call or tell us it was ready. The only thing good about them is that they fixed the car for free afterwards. Osmand-i think that's his name- is the best worker they have. He's bilingual and very helpful. I recommend talking to him if you need work done on your car.

Had them work on our Cadillac because it was running hot. We had to have a motor replaced the other was done for. 2 weeks we were driving again. That was 2 weeks to check old motor, pull old one, order new one, and put it in. That's pretty fast in my opinion. Ross is my go to guy, very nice, knowledgeable, and gets the job done. Thank you to all of yuns, we Cadillacing again.

Place has been working on my truck for 5 years plus and their paid n full I told em to keep all my old parts including old motor interior and all my new parts all he does is threaten bit off more than he could handle will never be back

I got a new engine put in, and Derek made sure that I had a warranty to cover it, so that it would be better protected in the future. His pricing was extremely fair, and allowed me to get an even better motor than previously quoted at another shop, for my car.He has also done exhaust work, which I love, and am extremely happy to show off. He knows exactly what his customers are aiming for, and he does his best to provide that.I would definitely recommend Derek s Muffler and Auto Repair.

I'm from Florida and was in Asheville for Thanksgiving week 2020. The heat shield of my exhaust came loose and was rattling. I went to 3 different shops and no one could take my car in the same day since everyone is short-staffed this week. I went to Derek's and they were extra nice and were able to squeeze me in given that I was out of town and had to drive back home . Thank you so much for the help!!Service: Exhaust

Was in a wreck on Thursday which really messed my muffler up and needed it fixed. Went to 4 places on Friday trying to find someone to fix it... none of which had time to fit me in.... however, Derek's Muffler, even tho they were covered up too, was able to help me out. I travel alot for my work and absolutely needed this done so I could run my business and they were able to help me out. So, shout out to these guys here for being understand of my situation and getting back on the road so I could continue business as normal.

My van broke down at my grand daughters VBS. We called around finally got someone to come pick it up. After getting it in the shop the next morning, they told me a list of things that was causing it. So I told them not to mess with it and I brought it to Derek's Muffler where he told me he would find the problem asap. He then contacted me and told me it was the fuel pump. After just fixing that one part, my van was working perfectly again. This is the best shop in Marion, and I will continue to bring my vehicles to this affordable and reliable place.
