These guys are awesome. We had an RV hitch that had to be replaced. They came out in a very timely fashion and got us on the road on time. Polite , kind and Honest. Extremely knowledgeable of their craft. Would highly recommend.

Best mechanic experience I ve EVER had. My sister s car started acting funny on the way out of the beach. We called them (after being turned away from Lighthouse Automotive) and they said come straight here. Literally stopped what they were doing and worked two hours on it. Offered their office ac for my sister s baby. Got it fixed up enough to make it back home so it can be taken to a dealership. Kept us updated the entire time with what they were doing. Such kind guys!! If we lived here they d be my go-to for everything. 100% recommend this company!

We were driving from cape hatteras to nags head when my dad wanted to pull over to see the dunes, and promptly got our car stuck. We called triple A and waited for them for LITERALLY 5 hours. They simply were not coming and it was starting to feel like our car was going to be stuck there all night. Finally I decided to look up towing services and Mannkaniks popped up. They were located like 30 mins away from where we were, so when the guy told me on the phone they were busy I didn t have high hopes and was prepared to wait another hour or so. It was like 10:30pm at this point also, but the guy showed up in less than 20 minutes, pulled our car out of the sand in like 5 minutes, and was so nice the whole time. If you have any car issues in the Outerbanks, these are the guys to call!Service: Car towing

Dude was a better DJ than business owner. Way over priced, will fix things that are t broke, and pretty much a scumbag all the way around. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

Went there to have my car inspected. Very thorough, very nice. Was glad I went there. Had made an appointment and they were right on time. Would recommend their services. Will go again.

Took vehicle down to get a passenger side cv axle seal replaced. They stated the drivers side was leaking as well. When I got the bill found they had replaced transmission mount (without telling me) and charged me for it. I asked about it and they said they would just rip it out and put the old back in. I got them to show me the old one and I said OK even though their attitude stunk. Got the car back home and within 2 weeks leak again (this time from both the drivers side CV boot and passenger side CV seal (which was supposed to be fixed the first time). Took it back up there and instead of fixing what I asked they found something else to fix (this time it was the transmission seal and rear engine seal) and I said no and picked up my car. I re found the issue and called back up there and said I wanted the original problem fixed in which case I was cussed out for picking it up. I told them to fix the original problem of which they said they did but now I have a leaking drivers side CV axle boot (which they had replaced - it was a split boot which lost its seal when it would have been just as easy to replace it with a full boot) and have paid 1089 for nothing!!! Do not ever take your car to this place!!!

195 for 5 minutes to swap out my flat tire with my full size spare. Stranded 9 hours from home with no jack and felt very gouged. Literally 5 minute tire change for $195. He didn't even have to turn his engine off.

I have always used them! And when customers at my work have issues, I recommend them and they always come back with great news about their experience with them. I ve used them personally probably about 6 times, always great service with great prices. I ve used them for towing, car service, etc. never a bad experience. My parents and brothers have also always used them, we never go to anyone else.Services: Car lockouts, Car towing

Charged $295.00 to drive 25 miles to pull the car out of the sand back on the road. Literally just pulled the car 10 ft. back on the road. I could see if they had to go out on the beach. But this was just on the side on the side of the road. Should have been no more than $150.00. A little much don't you think. Just gouging out of town people. The two men that came out were very nice and professional.Service: Car towing

Rex really helped us out of a jam. We were in OBX for vacation and our truck threw the fan clutch wiring through the radiator. Big mess. We live on the road full time and our truck is our livelihood. Rex got all the parts we needed and did an awesome job fixing it for us. And within just a few days, we were back enjoying our last couple days we had left in the OBX. His prices were fair and he was very honest. Would recommend him to anyone. Thank you so much Rex and team.

Had a intake gasket that needed replaced. They were the only ones within an hour of us that could do the job day of. Super nice guys and very reasonable price. Got us in and out quite quickly. Will definitely go back with any future issues.

While here from NJ on vacation the air compressor on my truck A/C broke. Mankanics was suggested to me by Dale s Automotive ( a great guy). This shop was great. They set an appointment quickly and had the part ready when I arrived. The price was extremely competitive and they are very friendly. Highly recommend!!!

I have used them several times, my wife has used them for years. The owner, Rex, is a really great guy and runs the business with his family. They stay busy, but one of the mechanics, Brian, always makes sure to get us in and out quickly. The only sticker shock associated with this place is how reasonable they are. I just had a front end service on my car there and they were finished quickly and it was affordable. I will continue to call Rex for all my needs. They also offer a wide variety of towing and have a crane for other odd jobs.

Rex seemed really straight foward on the phone. I personally felt over charged and given the run around just to get me out of there. I get the gut feeling you can't trust these guys. I see many other reviews that confirm my gut feeling. They gave me the feeling of being untrustworthy and never to want to come back agian. You get the feeling they will take advantage of someone in a heartbeat. I would recomend finding a good mechanic and paying for good quality work. These guys will add hrs of labor, upcharge, and then give you the run around when you ask them to explain the ticket. I would not recommend them. Not a good experience.

WARNING! Just got my boat back from Mannkaniks. We had a hub come off on the way down for vacation. They did a great recovery and tow job, as well as replacing my axle. However, after leaving the boat for 2 weeks at their yard my brand new front boat seat was taken. Called to see if by chance someone had taken it off and I was reassured over and over that nothing was taken off the boat, and that they have never had anything stolen from there. I can assure you my boat seat was stolen under their supervision. Did great work, just be careful if you're leaving stuff for extended periods.

HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE!Price quoted was not close to what was given.Took it there for new Heater Coil and noise.Never replaced coil and sound is worse than when I took it here and decided to "fix" my AC in the winter.They broke my air box on the way to the heater coil and told me to hire a lawyer and take them to court.Definitely would not recommend!!

I took my truck there recently to have a repair done. When it was done they called to say it was ready. I asked if I could pay on the phone because I was stranded and couldn't pick it up until they closed. The man that called said not to worry he would send someone to get me!!! In 5 minutes a man showed up with my truck in my driveway. When I got in he handed me a 100 dollar bill. He told me it was on the back floor board and he wasn't comfortable leaving the truck unattended with it in there. The repairs were done quickly and the price was more than fair. This will be my go to from now on!!

Love these guys. Always so helpful and know what they're doing. I own a minicooper and have had my fair share of people who acted like they knew what they were doing but really didn't. But these guys not only fixed the issue with my oil leak, but also fixed the problems other mechanics had caused all without trying to upcharge me for things they didn't do. Definitely the most honest and hardworking mechanics out here!

I was initially told it would be 180 to get pulled out about 5-10 feet with the winch. They came and it took them 5 minutes to get setup and pull me out. And then he said he had to drive it back 30 ft to the road. We were stuck out in the cold windy night and they took advantage of us being young and charged us 395 to pull us out instead and almost charged another 95 to tow it back to the yard because they don t take online payment methods. Extremely unprofessional.

I'm seriously impressed with the manager. He has a morning team meeting to talk to his employees about quality control and to keep them on task. The repair was on time and affordable. I would definitely recommend Mannkaniks.

I was in Kitty Hawk on vacation and my fuel pump went out. The hotel staff recommended these guys.They worked on my car for an hour and a half and charged me for 3 hours of labor. They wouldn't let me see the invoice for the new fuel pump when it arrived because they didn't want me to know how much their mark up on the part was. It was the wrong part. The mechanic stood around, smoked cigarettes and glared at me for an hour while the correct part was being delivered. Apparently they charged me labor time for this. This is extremely unprofessional. My gas guage reads incorrectly now. To add insult to injury they charged me for a fuel filter. My vehicle does not have a fuel filter. I called to voice my concerns to Rex and he told me "that they did me a favor and I should learn to be greatful"They did refund me for the cost of the fuel filter but it doesn't make up for their unethical business practices and the damage they did to my car.They took advantage of me because I was a tourist.They are dishonest, rude, and unskilled.Do not take your vehicle here. !UPDATE!I finally got my car to a real mechanic and it turns out that these guys kinked one of the fuel lines beyond repair, damaged the pump beyond repair while installing it, AND DIDNT EVEN BOLT IT IN!!!

We want our money back and have no problem warning others not to get suckered in to your crooked scheme no matter how many times you threaten us you rude, rude man!

What should have been rear break replacement because they were scrubbing, turned into to a $700 nightmare. My wife was told the front ones needed replaced too. When she went to pick it up, they said they also changed all four calipers!!! Said they were all bad, and froze. My wife didn t want to argue so just paid it and told me. First off, if they were all bad, the truck wouldn t have been able to move! She drive it there with no caliper issues! They claimed they broke during removal. My thing is, what are the odds all four breaking during removal for being bad Zero, they either are so incompetent and they broke them, or they just ripped her off. When I called to resolve it he said that they all broke when taken off and he gave her enough discount already and wouldn t change amount charged. These people are bad mechanics, and/or crooked. Beware and don t go there.
