I recently moved back to the Outer Banks to do Real Estate and needed some tires put on my truck. I called the shop in Manteo and they said they could work me in. I left my truck as my wife and I went walking around the beautiful downtown. We came back later and the truck was ready. The people are great and the service was awesome. If you need any mechanical or tires I highly recommend this shop.

Haven't been here for years..I am so glad I came back, as well I will return.. not only did they get me in for my sons late inspection, but they were, great, patient, customer skills with Mrs. Christina was awesome.. the auto tech was fantastic.. I would and will return back for my next car issue, oil change, inspection ect.. I again say " thank you " .. you went above 5 stars to 5�5 stars...price affordable, cate and experience top notch, customer skills above and beyond..give them a chance, you will not regret them. Thank you all, from appointments to car care, it was above and beyond my expectations.

I had a great experience with these folks, from the delightful front office worker who scheduled my appointment and greeted me, to the mechanic who worked on my car, they have integrity. They had to replace all the brake pads, and I was out in 2 hours. They are conveniently located, and open early. I have recommended them to friends, who also continue to use their services. To top it off, the reception area is comfortable and the bathroom is clean...over the years I have used them 10 times, and am finally taking the time to offer a review.

I needed to buy 4 new tires while I was on vacation in Nags Head. I read reviews and decided on this place. I'm so glad I did.World class customer service!!!!!They had my tires done in no timeThe office.manager was so nice and friendly on the phone and in person.She went above and beyond to help me even will tourist stuff.Very well run business. We were leaving the OBX when my husband noticed the oil pressure was super low and it was leaking oil. We called a couple of garages and they couldn't see the vehicle for a week. One of them called American Automotive for us and told us that they could see it that day. When we got there, the receptionist was super nice to my husband. The owner, Logan, explained to my husband what some of the issues may be and what to expect if it was some of them. After about 30 mins, they took the van in, raised it up and had 3 people standing underneath it to see what the issue was. Logan came out to see us and explained it was a simple fix and they had the part. After an hour or less, he was done! We were on our way home. They were all super nice and very fast!!! Very honest as well. Would definitely take our vehicles there and we are down there a lot! Highly recommend!!!

This place is great. Had my inspection done in fifteen minutes and out the door with no hassle. Everyone was nice and professional. They played Miami vice in the main lobby. Was nice to not have the news on wherever I went. Will definitely come back here.

Amazing! I needed and oil change so I decided to try American Automotive. What a good idea! I was out of there quickly and was able to go on with my day like normal. Not to mention the lady at the front desk was very welcoming.

Been here a few times. I'm very happy with their service so far. In my experience they have been polite, pleasant, honest, fast, and helpful. This goes for the mechanics and the lady up front. Will definitely be back.

On vacation and we needed to replace a trailer tire this place was helpful, friendly, and affordable! Highly recommend!

Our rental vehicle had broken down on our way to our vacation in Kitty Hawk NC and from the first phone call they absolutely were so kind and the most helpful. Also said if they could not fix it then they would able to find someone to take care of it. So went there and they had other vehicles in front of us but they took care of us in timely manner. The mechanic came out and talked to us personally. Fixed our vehicle within the exact time they said they would possibly be done with it and then before they gave us the car back they took it for a test drive and then gave it back. So if anyone runs in to the same situation unfortunately I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE. OH AND BTW THE DOG WAS AS SWEET AS THE PEOPLE .

I'm from PA and was on vacation in Nags Head, NC. I started hearing a sound from my hind left wheel. I called one repair shop to see if the could check to tell me if it was something I could drive home and fix or if it needed repaired before hand. They told me they were a week out. I called American Auto and spoke to a very kind lady explained my situation. She asked if I could leave me car there for a bit. About an hour later I got a call from Don to pick up my car. Tire was lose so he fixed it and checked remaining 3 tires. It could have turned into a very bad situation if I wasn't able to get it in. Thank you very much.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We do visit the Outer Banks often and this time needed some service on our car. Found them and they got us right in and on our way. Great friendly service, nice to know it's there for any future needs. Even had a biscuit for our dog.

We were on vacation at the OBX and our Jeep s alternator went out. Called several places that stated they were booked or too busy to help. Contacted American Automotive in Manteo and the staff said they could fit us in that day. Staff went above and beyond to get our Jeep fixed so we could travel home the following day. Highly recommend this place. Staff could not have been more helpful.

I drive a fleet vehicle, had a tire losing air very slow, but non the less, needed to be fixed. They couldn't fix it, cracked rim. They put my spare tire on, said no charge, and sent me on my way. If I'm ever in need of something again while on vacation, I'll be going to their shop.

Not impressed they wanted to charge me 540 dollars on $80 part.went to another place, got the part and they didn't even charge me to put it on.

Tire had a nail in it. They got me in right away and plugged the tire in minutes and I was on my way. Very nice, fast, professional. Highly recommended!!!

American Automotive got me in on short notice when they were already quite busy and did an incredibly thorough job diagnosing my car trouble (even researching the problem and providing me with their findings!) I was very impressed with their services and kindness.

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! Guy told me his back hurt and he couldn't get under the vehicle to look at it...Not a new business, same PEOPLE, new name. However, they take no responsibility for their own work. They overcharge and have no care or concern for their "customers"...I wouldn't bring my vehicle back here even if they offered free work...

Such an improvement from the last owner! It's now clean, smells much better, no inappropriate language and crude insinuations. Definitely a change for the better.
