They are by far the best mechanics I have ever dealt with in my 61 years. Knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I even take my dog there and they pamper her. It s funny but I actually like to go there and wait for my service to be completed. Chris is awesome at the front desk! David is outstanding in every way.

David and his staff are top-notch. I know when my car goes in for service that it will be done in a timely and professional manner. No second thoughts about them being truthful about recommended service. Safety is always priority.

They are my go-to garage for my Hyundai Santa Fe. For my last visit there, I was showing a brake problem on my dash lights. They diagnosed the problem to be with one of the rear brakes. They quickly rescheduled an appointment and track down the needed parts, and made the repairs. Another outstanding job!

These folks are the real deal: not only did they diagnose the problem with our car, they got us back on the road safely with specific instructions for our home mechanic. At every step, they were friendly and professional, explaining clearly what the problem was and the potential ways to address it. Excellent service for both the car and the car owners!!

David and everyone else at Lighthouse Automotive are experts, professionals, and just good people. With little notice, they were able to diagnose my tire problem, order new tires, and get them installed in only two days because the car was needed for a business trip on the third day. Lighthouse is my service choice for all of my cars!

I had a flat tire. They tended to me immediately and did a fine job fixing the tire and reinstalling it. The staff was pleasant and efficient.

Stopped for a few days in Nags Head before taking my son to school in Charlotte, when we ran into car trouble. The team at lighthouse was super helpful and accommodating. They worked us in, fixed the problem and we couldn t have been more grateful! Helpful friendly people and really nice operation all around.

I came into the shop. They were extremely busy I did not have an appointment. We were on vacation the owner looked at tire and found a screw in it. He fixed it and I was in my way. Everyone was very helpful and smiling faces. If you ever have car trouble go to Lighthouse Automotive. I am from Virginia and was traveling if I ever have car trouble when I am on vacation this is the place I will go.Thanks again everyone

This is a top notch establishment from the ground up . They treat you respectfully, are upfront about expected cost of repairs, work is done correctly the first time AND they include nation wide repair insurance on the work that they do .I do most of the work on the cars I own (hobby) - but things that are over my head - I know where to go. They recently expanded to a second location in Manteo. My congratulations!Check my other reviews - fair, blunt, and honest

Needed a flat tire on a boat trailer repaired. Got turned down at local tire store. First time I had been there and was totally shocked at the customer service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.I don t live there but if I did I would be a loyal customer. Highly recommend them. Thanks to the whole team.

Lighthouse is my Go To for any service. Knowledgeable and honest, they are totally upfront and know what they are doing. You won't get and bs, they are the real deal. David and team are ones you can trust. I've got a classic Chevy truck and he switched out the carb and corrected what someone else did to the vac lines. Very happy with the results! Excellent experience! I needed wiper blades for my Mini Cooper and I had struck out at two separate places but the guys at NAPA sent me to Lighthouse! The kind folks there were able to order them, get them delivered the next day and install them for me. I could not be more satisfied!

Excellent service saved our vacation a flat tire caused a disruption in our beach week thanks to fitting us into a busy schedule, Lighthouse saved us a day of vacation. I wish I could give a higher rating than five. We were on our way home from OBX when our van broke down. The alternator went out. We called Lighthouse Automotive and they found the alternator and worked us in as an emergency, even told us which tow company to use. We got the van towed, they pulled it right in, and fixed our van. They went above and beyond by helping us get down the road to a local diner to eat while the van was being fixed. VERY friendly, honest, and hard working folks that truly value their customers. I can't begin to tell you how grateful we are for their help. The price was quite reasonable as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

If you want an honest automotive repair shop this is it. They are personable and caring. They will not do work that shouldn't be done. And I will miss Michelle very much.

It's good of them that they got rid of someone who thought I needed brake work and needed rotors too, when I really didn't. They were all ready to do the job, and wouldn't do it, or take money for it. But they did give me a belt that day, like they had also planned to do, and the car sounds better. They also had made my car sound better before, when they did some work on it underneath. So, it sounds pretty good now. They showed, when they wouldn't take the money for that job, and got rid of that guy who thought I needed the work, that they cared about the customers, and would not rip them off. They didn't get rid of the guy based on my job alone, is what I understand, but it showed they cared about all their customers. There might have only been one other customer who almost got a brake job because of that guy, so don't worry. Thanks, Lighthouse Automotive!

Fantastic is the only word I can start with. The owner helped me out. There is no place like being out of town and having a mechanical problem. I found them on Google and the reviews are spot on with 5 's. If I could leave 6 Stars I would. I was there at 8am and his shop was open. Standing there I quickly realized his family is a definite part of the fabric of their community. He took the time to listen to my self diagnosis of the issue. Told me to take a drive and use my brakes to heat them up. Yep I had a brake caliper sticking. He gave me a price that was affordable and had one of his mechanics take the Jeep apart and be ready to replace the caliper. I can't say enough about this family run business! I was impressed by the professional honest treatment by the Light family and employees. If you have a mechanical problem while visiting the Outer Banks please give them a call.

Update Feb 10, 2023:The owner replied and asked me to call. I spoke with them and explained what had happened, the expectations and that I had been referred by others with great experience. They did refund the hour of labor that I shouldn't have been charged and apologized for the experience. I thank them for paying attention to their customers, and wanting to right a wrong.I have to start with my experience was Horrible. It seemed that it was going to be alright with scheduling. But I dropped my vehicle off the parts for the repair I was quoted for. I didn't need their warranty so I wasn't worried about spending the extra money to buy from them. I also asked for the annual vehicle inspection after the work was done. I had a check engine light, which was the purpose of the repair, the vehicle wouldn't pass an inspection with the specific code. The mechanic decided to give the car a "courtesy inspection" before performing any work. I don't even know what happened there, then proceeded to dismantle the car. As he encountered a problem, instead of calling me, cut wires to sensors trying to remove a component. Then they called me, trying to tell me I needed more parts than they originally quoted me which would have raised the cost over $1000.00, I'm sorry but no way. I asked them to just stop what they were doing, reassemble the car and I would pick it up. When I asked the office for my keys I was told they figured at the least I owed the $155.00 for an hour of labor after the mechanic had spent so much time. I was appalled but in a rush and needed the car gone from there. I don't know why I was being charged for an inspection that should have been done after repairs or for a mechanic that now made my car worse than when I brought it and have to spend more money else where. I will never recommend or repeat business in this place or suggest it. These are the people to see if you're in the Nags Head area on vacation and have auto problems. We were on vacation and developed a problem with our vehicle. I called and talked to Paul and he had me in the shop in 10 minutes. Great people, honest mechanics. Excellent service. Lighthouse saved the day for me. On vacation and my Tundra alternator failed. I had to leave for home in a few days and despite a booked up repair schedule Caroline and David worked with me to squeeze my repair into their very busy schedule. David was not only able to replace my alternator (the third one on this truck) but also diagnose why my alternators were failing. Many thanks to the entire Lighthouse team.Service: Electrical repair
