He was very professional and nice. Super fast too. I pulled in for a tire rotation, no appointment, and left within 15-20 minutes. Excellent work. We will always go back for tire or brake needs!

I stopped by for an inspection. They got me in and out quickly. I was very impressed!They have a surprisingly comfortable waiting room. It's also a little quirky, with the life sized, old time highway patrolman statue and the phone booth.It is kind of hard to notice while you're driving. It's right beside Trinity Methodist Church on Haywood Road.I recommend West Asheville Tire. They were very nice and very professional. Probably the best oil change I've had. Took his time and looked over the entire vehicle to make sure everything was working properly. Pretty much what I'm trying to say it's service the way it should be. Highly highly recommend

They have kept my truck running for years. When I have compared the price and quality to other mechanics they have always been the best.When they can't do it themselves, they send it out to someone else, take care of everything for me, and don't seem to try to mark it up for doing it.They are up front with me and have taken a look at a lot of things that concerned me without charging me.They give mechanics a good name.

I have only gotten my tires plugged there but both times they had me in and out quick. Today one of the guys stopped what he was doing, popped in the plug and for a very low price I was on my way. Good guys!

This garage isn't the most beautiful, so if aesthetics are your thing, Shook's isn't the place for you. However, if you want to entrust your vehicle to a smart group of guys who take pride in finding what's wrong, and then fixing it, then this is your place.I brought my SUV in for repair, and as soon as the tow truck dropped it off, I had a swarm of guys under the hood, right there in the parking lot. The gentleman gave me an estimate as to how much the repair could cost, and as to how long the repair could take. Both estimates were more than fair, and were much less than what I was expecting, based on what I had researched on the internet.They finished with my vehicle ahead of schedule, and the price I was quoted was exactly what I was asked to pay. There were no surprises or attempts to up-sell me on something. These guys are hard-working, knowledgeable, and honest. I'll never go anywhere else.

Absolutely perfect. These gentlemen are honest, professional, and intelligent. The estimate was spot on, and the work was exactly what I needed, no more and no less. No unreasonable markups on parts and no surprise charges. Very fast labor and prompt service. Simple, easy, affordable--this will be my regular place.

Shook's used to be consistently reliable, but as of late we've had nothing but problems with their service. We've brought two cars in with brakes to be serviced in the past 6 months, and have had issues with both jobs. On one car they only serviced the rear brakes, so we had to take the car to another mechanic to get the front brakes serviced a week later. On the second car they did something similar, as well as putting brake pads on rotors that needed to be serviced, without letting us know. This caused a host of issues that also required us taking the car to be serviced at another location.Shook's tire has been my go-to mechanic for regular maintenance for the past 4 years for me and my wife, but after these experiences, along with a few other smaller incidents we've had in the past year or two, I can no longer recommend them as a reliable mechanic. If you want your oil changed, however, nobody in Asheville can do it faster.

I cannot recommend Shook's more for doing various types of work on cars and trucks. These guys are of the old school garage variety of car repair and maintenance. So, if you're looking for a super clean chain store style garage with clean cut employees that put schmoozing above the quality of work, then Shook's is not for you. Shook's is family owned and is a shining example of how folks used to be proud to do good ole honest work. As an example, I was having some problems with my Camry. I did a little research and found that I should expect to spend around $225 for the parts and labor. While at Shook's, I explained this to the guys and I said I figured that I would be spending the mentioned amount. Turns out that I misdiagnosed the problem and the repair. My jaw dropped when I saw the bill. The fix was only $12!!! So they had a great opportunity to take advantage of my ignorance but chose not to take it. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find people and businesses who operate with such strong character. Further, Shook's is a local business. So take your car to Shook's, support businesses that operate with character and buy local!!!

Got an oil change. Price was middle of the road, though service was slow as they didn't have the oil filter shipment in yet for the day, not a big deal. The kicker was they broke off the top of my oil stick and didn't bother to let me know, they just did a shoddy tape job and left it at that. They also failed to put enough oil in the vehicle so I'll have to go out get some more after already paying $50. Lesson learned

Closes at 4. I got there at 3:33. No other cars around. Needed an oil change. Said they were closing soon. Two workers there. Could not do it. Maybe post on website that you don't do oil changes past 3:30 or something? I used to like Shooks. Just thought it odd that you close at 4 but work stops a good bit earlier.

I love these guys. Have been getting my yearly inspection from them for years, and they aren't looking with a fine tooth comb for things to fix. They even gave me a ride home one year while my car was being looked at. A+!

These guys are the best in town. I hesitate to tell you, because it's kind of a secret, but there you have it. Honest, affordable, and knowledgeable about a lot more than tires and oil changes.

My license plate was rusted on, and I was given new tags. I stopped in the morning to see of they could squeeze me in, and get the screws unstuck. They went ahead and got the screws free, and the tags changed out. Didn't charge me anything. I offered to pay, and they refused.

I just goofed and thought I needed an inspection when I really had almost a year left. They didn't realize it until they went to punch my information into the computer at the end of the inspection. He refused to let me pay him and sent me on my way. These guys seem like honest folks.

They are always helpful, upfront, always strive to save you money, and never do anything unnecessary. I have lived in W Asheville for over 12 years and they are always my "go to" place.

Not exactly the most outgoing or smiley people in Asheville, but they work fast, they work well, and they work (compared to other places) cheap. Definitely the best I've found in the area.

Honest and cheep, good for inspection, but if you have a nice car go somewhere else because they're sloppy. Scratched my wheels.
