Excellent experience. Although replacing or repairing a transmission isn't cheap, the guys at Bench Built, Nick and Nick Jr. We're top notch professionals and gave a very fair price for their service. I would highly recommend Bench Built Transmission for all your transmission needs. My 2010 Silverado runs like new!

Epitome of southern hospitality and GREAT customer service!I Was driving from Atlanta to Maryland when my car broke down in NC. I had absolutely no idea what to do or where to go but somebody recommended me this place since there was something wrong with my transmission.Although both of the nicks were fully booked and could not work on our car, they took time out of their busy schedules to try to get us home and let us know what was going on with our car to see if it was drivable to the dealership .When I asked how much for their services, he declined and said he was happy he could help us.Not only were they helpful, they also kind and lifted a lot of tension off our shoulders.

Best mechanic shop I have dealt with. This is what customer service is supposed to look like. A very well disciplined store and great communication, as well as punctual service. The wait for the part is long, but patience is a virtue here and I am happy I did business with the right company. Keep it up!

Nick and his crew were very professional. When I dropped off our car to have the transmission replaced, he took the time to explain what he needed to do and outlined the timeframe that he would be working on the car.The work was completed on time and did not exceed the quote we were given. When we picked it up, Nick again took the time to explain the work that was completed and also explained how the additional parts and upgrades would affect driving. Also made sure that we fully understood the warranty and any follow up visits that were required to maintain the warranty.The car that we dropped off was my 16 year old son's first car. Because of this, he was anxious for the work to get done, and I was concerned about it being done properly. Bench Built Transmissions did not disappoint. The car runs great and my son is incredibly pleased to have his first cat. I would definitely recommend Bench Built Transmissions for anyone that needs some transmission work done.

UPDATED - Got my truck back after the work was completed and Holy $ |!t Batman! I did not realize how much I had been compensating my driving for how the transmission was acting. I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado with 220,000 miles. The last 20,000 it's been hard shifting in the lower gears with a hard 'clunk' if I was trying to accelerate with any force and then it stopped shifting to the highest gear on the highway.Nick rebuilt the transmission from the smallest part out. They found that someone had 'upgraded' the transmission to a 2006 version at some point (I'm the 3rd owner) so he rebuilt it to the more dependable 2002 style and then added in some high performance parts for better performance and dependability. The work comes with a 2 year warranty and they scheduled a check up at 1 year before I left.I grew up in a farming community where a hand shake and your word meant much more than your credit score. This shop is a small, two person shop. A Dad and Son doing really good quality work and not overcharging for it. I left here feeling like I truly found a shop I can trust. Thank you Nick Sr and Nick Jr., your work ethic and business practices are a refreshing find in today's world.Service: Transmission

Father and son Nick and Nick were extremely helpful getting my vehicle back on the road. Their knowledge about my car and advice on proper upgrades was something I did not get when speaking with other shops in the area. You get what you pay for with transmission work and you're paying to get your vehicle fixed properly. They know what they are doing, it's just too bad they don't do more then transmission work otherwise I would use them for all future repairs. Thanks guys!

The guys did a great job rebuilding old school ford C6 transmission for my 63 ford f100. Excellent work at a fair price. Local family owned business. I walked in to talk to the owner and he was working at the bench rebuilding a transmission. My kind of guy.

Nick Jr. Simply amazing, very prompt with answering inquiry, extremely knowledgeable and HONEST. VERY RESOURCEFUL gave me many options on what routes to take to try to either fix or trade my vehicle. Shared sites that may cut cost in parts. EVEN offered free diagnostic and honestly stated the turn around time Gave recommendations and possible outcomes. I had a transmission problem and went to Bench Built. Talked to both father and son and was advised to bring my truck back and leave overnight so they could drive it when cold. Left for 4 days . Called on the fourth day and was told they had not driven the truck. I picked the truck up and the attitude I received was ok good bye go somewhere else. I certainly would not reccommend

Friendly and honest shop! They were able to get my vehicle back to me within the week! Transmission worked better then before it had failed. Would recommend them to family and friends!

My RAV4 had been making weird noises coming from the transmission for months, and the dealer quoted me at $5k saying I needed to completely replace the transmission. These guys found the issue in less than a day, and the solution cost me $10. Can't thank them enough for the help!

Absolutely the greatest service experience I have ever had. They were able to get my transmission done in 2 days and I was able to make it to the beach for my vacation! They made me feel like family and I feel soooo fortunate that this shop was reccommend to me! <3

Had all rear differential bearings replaced in my wife's suburban including wheel bearings. Less than 1 year later a wheel bearing went out, they "fixed" it under warranty. Now 9 months later the same wheel bearing goes out again. They said this time it would not be covered under warranty. So after fixing it in my own shop I found they put in a bearing not designed for the vehicle just to make it work and installed it backwards with the seal on the inside of the bearing which in turn messed up the axle. I also found a ton of metal and excess play in the differential so I got to rebuild that while I was in there as well.On a positive note I have had transmission work done there as well and it seems.to be holding up. But after this, I'll just do my own work from now on.

I inherited a truck from my uncle when he passed away. Wouldn t shift down into first gear or into overdrive. In emergency mode. Took it to these guys via a recommendation of a friend. They tested the lead from the PCM to the transmission. I picked it up a day later. They told me my transmission was fine. My PCM was not sending the transmission any signals. Told me no charge , said they didn t fix anything . PCM fixed it. Honesty!I recommend these guys to anyone having transmission issues.

They just rebuilt my transmission in my Avalanche. They are very reasonably priced and they know their stuff. You can't go wrong doing business with them.
