Breakfast buffet was below average. Wouldn't recommend it honestly!!Food barely warm. Scrambled eggs appeared to be the powdered kind, if not they weren't appealing or tasty!! Bacon limp/greasy!! The lady that works the register was nice and kept our coffee topped off! The view is amazing!!Noteworthy details: The view of Lake Junaluska is amazing, if you get a lake view room. The place is clean but I think it is a little dated!! Feel like the price point is too high.

The building is dated. Not good or bad, just personal preference. The breakfast.... this was awful. They collected the food by 9am, the eggs were over cooked and full of seasoning, and my wife got a rancid piece of fruit that had to be spit out. The refresh time on the buffet left us waiting for a bit. Not sure I'd return if I'm being honest. The price was good but it's about 15 minutes from the mountain. It's been an experience!

Location was the best thing about this place. Rooms have thin walls. Breakfast nothing to write home about.I would have thought being by lake junaluska would have been a 5 star but nope 2 star.No microwave in room either.Oh not that it was the hotels fault but they just happened to have drained the lake the weekend of the ice fest.

Family reunion/ Thanksgiving. Some stayed in rooms. Others traveled here. Dinner was great. Turkey, prime rib, stuffing, green beans casserole, carrots, sweet potatoes, salad bar, pies. There was more. I just do not remember all of it. Food was great. Not too mention we did not have to cook it or clean up. Employees were kind and polite. We had conference room to ourselves. Location wS great just beautiful place with the lake and all. We will do this again.

A very great place. My wife and I. We got married there on the 26th of December. It wasn't a lot of people around so we have to hold place to ourselves. Very romantic. We will go there every year the day after ChristmasRooms: Great room!Food & drinks: Breakfast was delicious

My wife and I, being locals, enjoy coming to Lake Junaluska regularly. Especially the walking trail and the rose walk. Leading conveniently to the very comfortable rocking chairs waiting for us to rest and view the lake. There is a gift shop and the have ice cream, snacks, and great coffee. A small library and clean restrooms, A place where I also come to sit in prayer and time with God.If my review helped you in any way, please like it. And God bless you.

What a horrible hotel in such a beautiful location. We were extremely disappointed with the surprisingly outdated rooms, the paper thin walls, and overall condition of the hotel. Breakfast was served from 7-9am only! I mean, what good hotel does that? Especially on a holiday weekend! On SUNDAY morning, beginning around 7:30 we started to hear music being played very loud. We were surprised this was being allowed by the hotel. When inquiring at the front desk around 10:00 on our way out for breakfast (because they had stopped serving at 9:00) we were told about a conference having their closing ceremony or something. No apology or acknowledgment that this was wrong. It was a good thing the nights weren t cool and we wanted to sleep with our windows open. There were two huge spiderwebs, with large active spiders in them, covering the screen less windows and there was a wasp nest bigger than my fist covered in wasps just outside one of the windows. We booked a two night golf package and added on a night. Total was ~$600. The golf was ~$90 of that. Save your money! Stay somewhere else and come visit the beautiful lake on a day trip. The trail around the lake offers beautiful views. They also have kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes to rent. They have a pool and pickle ball/tennis courts. The golf course was in good condition and the greens are nice. The 14th and 16th holes are two of the worse designed golf holes I have ever played in my 50+ years of playing golf.

We attended a convention in July and fell in love with the property and the surrounding towns. Came back for balsam range and will lively be back next summer.Nearby activities: Waynesville and Maggie Valley have shops and restaurants that we returned to.Walkability: I'm of somewhat limited mobility. The events at junaleska make it so easy to participate without discomfort in moving around. The Stuart is magnificent!!

This two day get away didn t meet our expectations. First the staff were friendly. The 6th floor room was advertised as a beautiful view of the lake but you look down at an ugly concrete roof. Not appealing. The room was ok, a bit old and not updated. The breakfast was not hot. The eggs and potatoes were cold. I had to ask staff to warm it up in the microwave. The Mother s Day brunch was not worth the money, lots of creamy options, pork was tough. We came two weekends before Memorial Day, which is when everything opens. The kayaks and paddle boards should be opened at least on the weekends. Some amenities should have been opened especially for the rate we paid. The walk around the lake was our favorite part.

Pros: many things to do; pool, tennis, volleyball, fitness center, walking around the lake (my favorite), playing chess/checkers and hanging out in the lobby; friendly and accommodating staff; clean rooms, public areas and elevators; lunch and dinner menus have a nice balance of ingredients; polite servers; good dessert options; nice views of the lake in some roomsCons: outdated elevators that don t always respond to buttons pushed; windows do not have locks; doors sometimes do not lock and it is easy to get into someone s room via door/window; keyless cards deactivate easily and need to be replaced often (keep them away from your phone and airpods); subpar breakfast with the same options each day; our AC/heater vent started smoking and we did not see any visible fire detectors or even carbon monoxide ones (fire alarms and extinguishers exist); some rooms have the bathroom sink outside of the bathroom which can get annoyingOverall, it was a nice one-week stay, but if there are better options, pick them.

This hotel is perfect if you were attending the conference at Lake junaluska Conference Center. They do not provide daily room cleaning. But, the convenience of being in the building or across the street from the building where your conference is makes up for it. The rooms are adequate but not luxurious. The view of the lake from the front of the building is spectacular. We will be staying there again for the healing winds conference in September.

This is an Amazing place! Very well maintained and friendly/caring staff. The rooms are great! Sitting on the terrace in the white rocking chair by their outside propane heaters looking over the lake was so surreal...very relaxing. This is a must to visit! The decorations inside is beautiful. This is a place we will frequent and they have rentals for activities on the lake. The Bistro food was very good, I can't wait to visit after Covid to see how much more it would be and as I said, it was pretty Great already!!

Okay, to be honest I did not actually stay at the terrace hotel. My visit to this hotel was simply to check into our rented apartment at lake junaluska. However, and visiting briefly to check in / check out, this hotel was extremely beautiful. The place is very clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and it's overall a pleasant and very aesthetically pleasing place to visit. I would definitely consider this hotel when/if I were in the area again.

We had a gorgeous stay here on the 6th floor with the lake and mountain view. The view is exactly how they market it in their photos, it is stunning with so many cool places within walking distance (historical church, wedding venue parks, etc). The front desk was SO helpful when we were there because we mentioned we were on a trip looking at wedding venues an hour away. They put together a folder of their town's wedding venues and the phone number of their event coordinator and we ended up finding our wedding venue just a short walk from the hotel (Inspiration Point!) They enforced covid safety standards of wearing masks and social distancing and it was a great experience where I felt safe during the trip. Book a room with a view on the 6th floor and you won't be disappointed. The town became my favorite weekend destination from just one visit, it is lovely.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We had a lake view and loved getting to see out on the lake. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. However, the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was sparsely supplied and what was there was not that good. We ended up eating out most mornings.

This place is a gem! Very clean, spacious rooms, with gorgeous views of the lake. There's a popular 2.4 mile walking path around the lake that we took advantage of before it rained. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back!

Always great! The hotel was always clean and comfortable. Post covid, it is immaculate. Beautiful views of lake junaluska. Awesome lobby fireplace for those chilly days. Our girls love the modest breakfast buffet. And the people. There just aren't friendlier people than the ones you meet in this area.

The Terrace is a very quiet and nice hotel. The staff were super friendly. Diane at the front desk was very friendly and humorous. You can park at the very front of the hotel, or take the car ramp which goes directly into the lobby. The ramp is the safest and best way to avoid the slow elevator in the bottom floor. The rooms offer lake view and are nice. They were pretty clean and had decent furniture. They are smaller than I expected, usually hotels in the $200 range have two rooms with a living room and bedroom, but this was much smaller than expected. I think the price should come down to be more accurate to other hotels. The TV was small, but ok. The bars of soap were TINY. They were so small, I think they could get a world record or something! The A/C was broken, it only gave cold air which was not acceptable in the Winter.Breakfast was okay. They had muffins, eggs, yogurt, juice, pastries, oats, potatoes, and more. No bread/bagels/english muffins which was disappointing.Additionally, the extra $30 is not worth it for the lake view, it would be better to just walk outside and see the lake.Overall the Terrace is a great hotel, with wonderful views of Lake Junaluska.

Good service, staffs were very courteous and friendly. Property is kept in pristine condition with adequate Covid-19 safety measures. Well thought out boxed free breakfast was a bonus to already value added stay. Bathrooms are small and bit cumbersome to get in & out. The lake view from the room is memorable and pretty luxurious!
