Luke s is a great place to get car and pickup repairs. Luke IV, is courteous and knows what he s doing. I called and he gave me a quote over the phone and I took it in the next day. I wasn t in any hurry so I stayed there until he was finished. An older lady came in while I was there and was worried about her car. Luke took a look at it and also checked her air in the tires and filled her windshield washer fluid up. He wasn t going to charge her for it but she insisted on paying him something. Also Luke has a furry friend that is with him all the time. His name is Milo. Milo wouldn t hurt a flea. Just lays around the shop. Make sure you say hello to Milo when you go there! I would usually work on my vehicle on my own to do the brakes, but I didn t have my tools with me here in the OBX. Luke took great care and did an excellent job. Thanks Luke and I m sorry about your loss of your Dad. May he RIP

Great service when we needed it the most while visiting on vacation. Day before heading home our charging station warning light came on, went to Autozone to get alternator tested and that was the culprit. Called Luke s Auto Repair and they got me in immediately. After they looked at our vehicle it was determined only the tensioner and new belt was needed, saving us $300 plus! If you are looking for a reliable and HONEST mechanic while in the Outer Banks, look no further then Luke s Auto Repair!

Hi I was on my way to vacation on the Outer Banks. Just as I crossed the Wright memorial bridge, my clutch gave out in front of Walmart. I drove to Nags Head in 3rd gear hoping that I didn't have to stop. Once I got to the beach house called a friend who owns at the beach. He sent me to Luke. He (Luke) had it towed that day, repaired and back at the beach house in 2 days.....purring like a kitten . I would recommend this mechanic the anyone. Very professional, courteous, and matter of fact about the repair. He got me back on vacation, FAST!I thought about having it towed home to get it fixed.....but what was I thinking! Next time I need a repair, I'll go see Luke!

We have been going to Luke for all our car needs for years(2006), Luke is the best mechanic you will ever find.Luke is honest and he always does an awesome job.We can honestly say we TRUST Luke 100%,we hope he never retires.But if he does we hope Lil Luke takes over his dad's business,lol! Thank you Luke for being honest,best mechanic and friend

Check out their website (lukesautorepair.com) for coupons. Luke replaced the head gasket in our minivan. Not an easy job. He did it for a fair price and the car is running 100% again. Very nice easy going folks and a pleasure to deal with. They don't try and upsell you or nickel and dime you with stuff you don't need. Highly recommended. Good central location easy to get to. Very personalized service.FYI - No idea what's up with the killdevilhillsautomotiverepairnc.com website. It's some cookie cutter marketing service. Our 2013 Kia Sorento alternator went bad while we were on vacation and had to be replaced. Luke took us right in and started working on it. Even when they found more things wrong,they fixed it right away. Luke's took a very stressful situation and reassured us that they would take care of it, and they did. Knowing we had a long drive ahead as we are from out of town, he called once we got home to make sure everything was good. That's hard to find in today's society. Good job guys! Can't recommend them enough!!!

Checked 5-6 other auto repair shops in the area to do a simple State Inspection. Answers were booked up for days, or currently multi-hour wait. Friend suggested Luke's. Off the beaten path of Croatan Hwy, but pulled up to non-descript warehouse door with small sign. Entered through small door into large open auto repair shop with RV parked inside as 'the office'. An older gentleman hurriedly walked around and asked what I needed. When I said an inspection he said 'pull your car in'. By time I walked out to my car, the garage door was opened and I pulled inside. He had me test all lights and horn while he checked. Looked in engine compartment and under vehicle. Took my registration card, entered into computer on nearby workbench, and handed me receipt for Passed inspection. I was in/out in 10 minutes.....Amazing. I almost hope I have a car problem so I can go back to him. Obvious years of experience, a shop that looked efficient and well equipped, and no-nonsense efficiency. What a great find!

We arrived in Nags Head on Sunday evening. My truck was running hot and the AC was, too. I needed repairs done quickly so we could resume our trip on Tuesday. Luke fixed everything in time and at a reasonable price.

Called several auto places and they all refused to fit in an oil change. Called over here at Luke s and he was able to squeeze me right in between appointments! Also - bonus points for having a cute puppy to play with while I waited!

Our car was making some loud noises on our way to nags head so before we left to go home we wanted to have it checked. They replaced a water pump and belt within 24 hours of dropping it off. They were very responsible and friendly. Great shop. Thank you!!

Needed a car inspection, but had a headlight out and a tail light that wouldn't brighten when brakes were pressed. Luke made time to inspect my car last-minute, had the right bulbs in stock, and charged a very reasonable rate. Knows his stuff and is a problem-solver, one of the good guys.

Don't let the grim exterior or the slightly messy interior of this shop fool you. This is one of the best and most professional shops in OBX. We were having an issue with a wheel bearing during the last weekend's trip to OBX. Called at least 15 garages in Elizabeth City and OBX and most of them were busy for the next week. While the owner had quite a few customers, he took a few minutes out of his busy day to check out the car and fit us in. Our repair was completed in about 4 hours, which is incredible with such a short notice. Moreover, if you have been going to any other repair shops, you will be pleasantly surprised, this place does extensive testing and makes sure that they test drive the car to ensure the problem is what they think it is. They also test drive the car afterwards to ensure that the issue is no longer there. They even pointed out a few small issues that we already knew about. This place is truly amazing!
