Scheduled an appointment for a simple alignment. Had some issues with my outer tie rods & tires which prevented the vehicle from being properly aligned. Paid for the work done; however, owners said I could return within a week to get it re-aligned without an extra charge. Still had an issue, I replaced my tie rods and returned for an alignment, owners kept their word. Very friendly and honest people. My car is as good as the first day I got it. Will be returning for future services if needed!

Somehow, on a single trip, these people managed to A) Lie to me about the parts they were using, B) Overcharge me by 400% for the parts they did use, and C) Install the parts improperly. When I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt the lady who runs the office acted like an angry child - tried to gaslight me and tell me that none of these were actually happening. Claimed that the quality of the parts they use are not their responsibility. Told me a 400% markup on parts is "Normal" and "That's how we stay in business." Told me that the new noises I'm hearing from their third-rate work "sounds fine" and there's nothing they will do.Now they're claiming that my review isn't real, because it says negative things about their garbage behavior. I would sooner pull off my toenails with a pair of pliers than bring my vehicle back to these people. On the bright side, I did find a new shop that immediately identified and fixed the problems they created.

My AC went out on my car and we desperately needed it fixed. My wife has been battling cancer for years and a hot car on the way to her treatments is unbearable. These guys repaired my AC quickly and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. Top notch service in my book! Thank you very much!

Love Talberts! Personal service. Genuine care for the folks they help. Quality service and products for reasonable costs. A true neighborhood family business and mainstay. Highly recommend. Many, many thanks Marla and Steve for the years of taking care of me and all of your customers as family.

I have taken 3 vehicles to Talberts for several years. I've not used any other service except the local tire dealer. My service needs have mostly been routine maintenance or age related stuff - with the exception of a Ford Escape I purchased used from an NC dealer 2020. I have not questioned their judgement about a repair or cost. It was not possible for me to trust them any more than I have. Money has been tight last few years so I made them aware of that as we worked on the Ford. I'm going to stop here by saying - I was told a couple weeks ago - to think about "getting rid" of my Escape with about 109k miles. It had a sensor problem diagnosed by them and requiring a costly repair that should have been fixed in a serviced recall before I became its owner. The local dealer told me that this recall service was already noted for the car in 2019. I called Talberts to find out if it was safe to drive it with a warning light on and to ask the total cost to just replace what was likely a faulty, recalled part/sensor...because I trusted them (based on their knowledge of the car) the most to do this correctly and I felt it was my best option, at this time. I began researching my problem on the internet and grew increasingly concerned about driving the car with a service light on related to coolant. They were busy when I called and Steve was very polite to tell me that. I understood and said that I needed some more information about what to do. I was promised a call back, but it never came. When I called again later that day - during service hours, someone picked up, said nothing and then hung up....so I gave up and took the car elsewhere. This was hard for me after so many years of my business there. For the record, I have no messages that a call to me was made. Maybe the holidays created this lapse, but it would've have been nice to hear back - as I was promised.Car is now fixed. Before doing so the other service thoroughly reviewed its history... and for the first time since I have become its owner - the mysterious persistent exhaust odor appears to be eliminated. I wish Talberts only the best, but I'll not go back. I don't write this to vent but rather to share my experience for others whose dollars are tight and must make their aging cars go as far as they can.,,and not feel ashamed because they have to. These are just my thoughts and experience as I recall it. My many receipts seem to me to be proof of my recurring trust to pay for whatever they felt was required for any of my 3 cars serviced by them. Three stars for the good work of the past. Less two for making me feel like I, the customer, was a nuisance.

I have been a regular customer at Talbert s for years. I call Steve and Marla for their advice on my vehicle often. My taillight recently went out on my GMC that doesn t have a lot of miles. I was told by my car dealer that is was no longer under warranty, so I started shopping around for a SUPER expensive LED replacement then I once again called Talbert s to see what I should do. Steve jumped online and found a recent extended warranty of the taillights of my vehicle that literally saved me over $400 in parts and labor. Hardworking and honest people will always get my business. Thank you.

After what I thought was a relationship built on trust, I dropped off my old Subaru to get fixed because a terrible noise started which caused me to have to drive slowly and directly to the shop. I assumed it was for the front left axle because I had received a quote last May that it was 4/10 wearing out. I was going on vacation and needed to leave the car to have my daughter pick up after it was fixed without speaking to the mechanic .The owner called me. He said he couldn t fix the car because it was a problem with the deferential that he couldn t fix and he didn t know anyone who could. I said please wait a couple of days so I can figure out what to do but he said he already got the part. So he fixed car to the tune of around $500 for absolutely no reason since I will not be able to keep the car which has a broken differential that can t be fixed. He took advantage of my ignorance about this because clearly fixing the axle would do nothing to prolong the life of my car. I feel so tricked and cheated. I m pretty sure that he could ve gotten his money back for the part and clearly the only reason I was having him do that is because I thought it was gonna fix the problem.

I broke down five hours from home and eight hours from my destination and was basically stranded. They were the only shop that would take me. They really went above and beyond to help me get back on the road. The shop is very clean. Staff, owners and technicians are all friendly and helpful. Really can t stress how grateful I am because I was in a mess very far from home!

My wife and I first tried Talbert's about 5 years ago. They now do all of our routine maintenance as well as the few repairs our cars have needed over the years. I appreciate dealing directly with the owners. They are consistently professional, personable and conscientious. Based on our conversations I believe they take quality seriously because they are fully aware that a mistake could result in a collision. I want people working on our cars to have that awareness. We've never had a problem with their work but if we do, I won't hesitate to bring the car back and am confident they will do the right thing. When I have compared estimates they have been in line with other shops and less expensive than the dealership. Because of all this, I now refer friends and family to Talbert's.

We wouldn't go anywhere else for routine maintenance or minor or major car troubles. It's a long story but they helped is when we had got a wrong diagnosis elsewhere, and saved us a lot of money.

Highly recommended. Fantastic people, great service, always greet you with a smile. Hometown feel with superior big city service. Excellent alignment technician with top tier equipment. No need for the dealership when Talbert's is around the corner.Concerning several of the other reviews, the common thing I see is people not understanding how an automotive industry works. As far as a window regulator goes, there is no discount for you taking your car halfway apart and not being able to complete the job. Talbert's is competitive and fair in their pricing and services.

I took my truck to Talberts on Hwy 70 for inspection and oil change. I was there over an hour, did not feel welcome as a customer. The young lady at the front desk did come out the door, tell us we couldn't come in due to no mask on, and show me a place outside to sit, since I have a disability that prevents me from wearing a mask. I was with my sister ( both of us in our 60's), though she had a mask in her pocket, she just followed the ladys instructions in sitting outside. It was hot and hard to breathe outside. After a long while she said we could sit inside if my sister wore a mask, since there was no one inside at that moment. My sis always wears one in a business and even carries one in her pocket at all times. The lady did eventually come outside and tell us we could come in now where its cool since there was no one else in there at the moment. My husband is disabled and I never leave him alone very long at all due to high fall risk and on oxygen.. He called me,, as soon as I answered the lady very quickly came from behind the counter and told me id have to go outside to talk due to echos in the room. I did get up and go outside to finish up talking to my hubby.. There is more, but I will simply say, I'm a very laid back, easy going, even humble person. I totally did not feel welcome day before yesterday. I really hate that too, because I really wanted the convenience of having a car repair shop close to my residence. It would have been so convenient.,I felt very unwelcome as a customer!

Amazing individuals to help with all your automobile needs. Customer service is top notch, and the friendship is genuine. Hard to find places like this around anymore.. everyone is chasing the $$$ yet this business strives for satisfaction and appreciation. I will return with friends and family to this establishment!

Friendly, courteous, and everything I have experienced with them leads me to believe they're honest and fair. I'm no mechanic - if I was I wouldn't have asked them for help, ha! - so I asked lots of questions about what they determined was wrong with my truck. They explained everything to me so I understood it and charged me a fair price to make the repair. I can't ask for anything more than that!

SHOWS ONE PRICE BUT CHARGES ANOTHER. Long review but you need to read. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I just went to have both low beam headlights replaced. They were available to perform work immediately. Great I thought. Went there, looked up at the digital pricing screen in their waiting area..Screen shows the following pricing: Headlight bulb replacement $23.50. I figured $47.00 for both that seemed reasonable. Reasonable (as I just priced the bulbs at 2 stores locally and the bulb was selling for as low as $9.00). I said do the replacements. Only one bulb could be replaced as the only other they had was defective. There is one easy and one difficult bulb to replace, guess which one they replaced? Then they handed me the bill for the single replacement. $44.00+. I said to them I'm getting charged for two? They said no. I said your sign says $23.50 for the replacement. They said "OH...THAT SIGN DOES NOT INCLUDE LABOR"!!! We charge labor by the book and you can't get anyone to do it for less locally. I said what? The sign clearly states the cost for the bulb replacement as well as many services but nowhere does it say that cost is for the part alone. We all waited for the sign to cycle back to review the signage and it said $23.50 for the headlight bulb replacement. They said that they are waiting to have that sign replaced or updated. They (Talbots') even see the problem with the sign but do you think they would honor the price on it NO!!!! They would not! Adding insult to injury was when I said, take the bulb out I don't want it at that price. They said "WE'LL HAVE TO CHARGE YOU DOUBLE LABOR". Who needs or wants to do business with a company like this. Do you want to take your chances here...maybe good for some, maybe not....but again BUYER BEWARE!!!.

Went there for an inspection. The guy said to go and come back at11o'clock. It was 9:30. I said ok thank you. Then he said his machine was broken. Ok, thanks I'll come back Monday. Went out to my car & texted my wife. About 3 minutes after I went to the car to do this, he came out & said I'm "getting busy I need my parking spaces". There were 3 (THREE) cars there. Plenty of space. PLEASE...He must have too much business, so I'll certainly help by not ever giving him any.

This business changed my tire promptly and for a fair price. The two star review is because I had a flat tire about 50 yards from the business within sight of their front door, and the owner refused to loan me a lug wrench to take my tire, roll it 50 yards, and pay him money..i pointed out where my vehicle was, I offered credit card and keys as collateral, and he still refused to loan me a wrench. That is not the type of person I want to support in business.I called an Uber, had them take me to a parts store, bought a wrench, ubered back, took off the tire and rolled it to the shop. All completely unnecessary. Sure, it s smart to always keep a lug wrench and a spare in the vehicle, but that was not me on that day.I ll tell you what though- if the shoe was on the other foot, I d have loaned the wrench. Wouldn t you?

Let me just say my family has been 'friends' with the owners of Talbert's and I still would not suggest them. The first instance that initially turned me away from Talbert's was when my mother brought her vehicle in for something basic like an alignment or an oil change (can't remember exactly) and my mom ok'ed whatever they told her over the phone (without talking to me) and they charged us $60 extra or so to replace the cabin air filter because it was 'bad'. They shouldn't have been anywhere near the CABIN air filter mind you. So I found a new shop. The second instance, I was replacing my window motor myself but couldn't reach the mounting point and gave up. Oh, also I was doing this the night before a rainy day. I had to leave the window down without the motor mounted up. Anyways, I left the door panel off the car and everything ready to go, all I needed was them to mount the motor which would've taken all of 20 for someone that had done it before. Steve -the owner- said he wouldn't do it because of 'policy' (THAT HE MAKES, BEING THE OWNER) that they have to do the whole thing. Mind you, he was looking outside watching it rain while saying this, knowing I wouldn't be able to go anywhere else on such short notice. His 'policy' translated means he wanted to bullshit and make me pay full book labor cost.... When they didn't do the whole thing! $150.I won't go back again. I gave them a second chance, and they screwed me. And I thought of them as family friends, I can't imagine what they pull on strangers.
