I was extremely pleased with the job on my thermostat. This is the third time that I supposedly had this fixed. Funny how it was the original part on my car. I literally got lied to and paid over $1200 to have this situation fixed over a period of 3 yrs from 2 other shops. John and his crew and the office staff was wonderful and kind. Everything was done in 3hrs. Towed, diagnosed, and fixed at a reasonable price. This is definitely my new shop. Thank you so much

New to the area and was looking for a top-notch mechanic to work on my 2012 1500 Ram. Number three cylinder showing misfire. Three reputable mechanics in the area diagnose the problem with an outrageous price and weren't very transparent as well. Was told to try John Wooten for being transparent, a top notched mechanic & Fair and price. His Shop is that and more (a 5 star mechanic).Happy ending my 1500 hemi is running terrific & I found an excellent mechanic.

Paid over $500.For back brakes and front brakes.A week later I had to take it back.And then another couple weeks they went bad again. I just didn't take them back. I took them somewhere else.I was so excited! Everyone seems so nice there. I thought I had found a new place to take my car without worries.I just can't see myself taking it back there even though the people were wonderful.

So far so good. Only thing... Has happened twice. Huge grease spot on floor mat and a few inside on the door frame. But his wife was VERY Courteous and apologetic and brought out and cleaner and it came right up!!! Wooten has a good name about his business and has been servicing cars for many years. Hope to continue allowing him to service my vehicles. Great family!

I would 100% recommend John Wooten automotive as they are very fast at getting you in for repair, very quick and amazing at what they do, and everyone is very kind and caring! Also they don t charge an arm and a leg as other mechanics do! I recently was told by another mechanic that my ignition switch needed replaced but John Wooten found the problem right away and it saved me alot of money, most honest mechanic I have ever met that isn t just trying to dip into your pockets!!! They are amazing and I will continue my business with them always!!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Brakes

I have had absolutely superb service from John Wooten Automotive. I have been to other mechanics near my area in Hickory NC, all of which taking at times a whole day to get repairs or replacements on items such as struts or tires. John Wooten has served me twice so far and have been faster then all of them, from replacing a front axle, two front tires, and now oxygen sensors, in a little over two hours! I would 100% recommend their very fast, very friendly, quality service.

A family business, John & Tammy provide great service and very honest. My son has his transmission go out and John made himself available to help out when closed. It was determined that it may still be under warranty and recommended we check with the dealer. Never ever take cylinder head here to get fix you will get it back with more problems. Cost me $180 bucks for nothing.. I'm having to take it to another machine shop now to see if it's from there mess up so I can take action from there

Took my car there for a replacement motor was got quoted 1500 1600 for a junkyard motor and the price can go up to 2400 2500 Max paid $3,040 motor runs hot picked it up four times to have it run hot had to towed four times back to the shop he want reimburse me or put another motor in the car will run but if you turn the car off it won't start back until 3 4 days later maybe

An honest, fairly priced, knowledgeable mechanic. Need I say more?! I had the transmission rebuilt on a sienna minivan. John and his crew did a great job. There was a small issue which they were all too happy to make right. Fantastic customer service. They are busy so your repair may take some time, but good things are worth waiting for. You get more than what you pay for here. I'd recommend John Wooten Automotive for all your automotive needs. I'll definitely be back.

I will not take our vehicles anywhere else but John Wooten's Automotive to be worked on. This shop is top notch!! They took a car that I had already spent $2500 on at 2 other shops and finally figured out it's problem and fixed it. I haven't had another problem out of this car since, going on 2 years!They also took our 2500 Dodge truck that 3 other mechanics quoted fixing the AC at $1800-$2300. Figured out the problem and fixed it for $156.They will not cheat you or over charge you!!If you a mechanic you can trust this is the place to go!! 5 Stars all the way!

We found ourselves stranded on 40 with no coolant while hauling our camper. After waiting 3 hours for our tow truck our dispatcher through good Sam said she couldn't find an auto shop to take us.We called John Wooten and they made sure we got towed straight to them. Within the hour they had repaired our truck and done a few extra things to keep us going and to our destination safely.The staff were all so kind and offered us snacks, drinks, and a place to charge our devices. They helped us so much and we're reasonably priced.The only problem I have with John Wooten Automotive is that they're too far away from where I live to have all my business.Highly recommend this place.

Great shop that went out of their way to help us. We were moving to Asheville when our truck that was pulling a U-Haul trailer started overheating. Our friends that were traveling with us got us to the shop. The receptionist called a tow truck for us. The owner said he could take a look at it that day. We got the truck in about an hour before closing to find out there was a huge hole in the radiator. The shop got the part in and stayed late in order to get us back on the road that day! The cost of the repair was very reasonable as well!! While waiting we got to visit with their 2 dogs, one of which put on quite a show of all his tricks. I highly recommend this shop! All the staff were very helpful!

In the last 11 years, John Wooten's has worked on 6 different cars for my family, some quite aged and in disrepair. They have done exemplary work, and are people of integrity and kindness, costing well below the other estimates we got and going the extra mile for their customers. Thank you John, Tammy and crew for all the service and keeping us all on the road safely!!!

The "BEST OF THE BEST"! JOHN, TAMMY, JENNIE & TIM. They have helped me so much. I thank GOD for them. Repaired jeep liberty, it was jerking and wouldn't hardly run, John and his team got it running like new. Oh yeah, Thank you for the customer breakfast you provided. it was delicious. In my opinion Wooten should be shut down. We took our car in after in blew a timing chain. They charged us about $3000 to fix which I realize is a typical price. However, a couple days after getting the car back it blew another timing chain...it was never explained to us whether it was the same timing chain or a different one. Then if I understand it right, while working on it the second time, they burned something on the electrical box so a day or so after we got the car back we had to have it towed to them again. They supposedly fixed it but long story short, we d had to have it towed to them six times, and it s still not right. I wouldn t recommend Wooten Automotive to my enemy.

Always good at John's. Been way for a while from carry mail. But john is the most in hands mechanic, always drops what hes doing to see what the problem could be. Gladly recommend John for any fix!

I would never let John Wooten Automotive work on any of my vehicles again. I took my car in March of 2016 to get transmission work done & my SUV sounded like a transfer truck. Had someone else check out & my transmission was about to fall out because he did not have bolts on tight & it was missing bolts. I took back & he fixed again & I have had other problems like, drive shaft had to be replaced several times & he messed up my exhaust. I have paid him & my car is still not fixed & here it is March 2018. I would never refer anyone to do business with them. He has told me that my car was almost ready & the whole time it was sitting on side of garage with windows down where it now has water damage inside, two tires where flat & he had it backed up into another vehicle where it is now dented in the back with paint missing & scratches on back. This place needs to be shut down asap.

I would love to give these guys a billion stars. We were traveling from Raleigh North Carolina to Asheville North Carolina moving our kids and the truck that was pulling the trailer broke down. They helped us get it towed and they fixed it within an hour after they were closing and got us back on the road. Thank you so much you guys are awesome.. also have some pretty awesome little puppies there..

I do not recommend this garage to anyone,my grandparents took there vehicle there for idling problems , 750 dollars later they was told the car was done . They picked there car up and the car was still not running right. Doesn't it seem odd that everyone who files a negative review on your company , you say you can't find them in your database or you say you have never did work for them ? The fact that you lie and say these people are not in your database is evidence enough to show how dishonest you are and how you run your business.

My wife and I bought a Nissan and drove it straight there no issues with the plans of having them replace the transmission due to issues we was already aware of upon purchasing.. Well a year later the car is completely dismantled we are out of hundreds of dollars for labor that obviously hasn't been performed because we are currently having to take our car to another mechanic to not only have the said transmission installed but to also have him to replace the now useless engine. Since our simple transmission request went obviously undone and car set and set now our original motor that worked seemingly flawless is now seized up and useless...

I owned a 2006 Lexus ES330 which had close to 200,000 miles on it at the time. I wanted to have the timing chain, water pump, and freeze plugs behind the water pump replaced because of the miles on the car. I got three quotes for the work to be done. Two quotes from the same car dealer in Hickory on the same day( 1st quote $960, 2nd quote $785). I went to John Wooten Automotive and got a quote of around $600. Wooten Automotive got the job and the total bill was $570. I put another 65,000 miles on the car without any problems with the performance of the car.Thanks John Wooten,Phil Kusner

Read the critique that my wife Melody posted and I have to take exception. While it's true that we've had the vehicle back several times, the main problem has been an electrical one that has been very difficult to track down and could be a source of frustration for any mechanic. At her request I've taken the car to a different shop and it's back for the second time in a week, which shows how hard electrical fixes can be. John has never charged me for anything other than the initial engine rebuild (which was $2200 not $3000) and has been up front and honest.

A good place to get your car worked on for a very reasonable price. They had quick service and friendly staff. We will probably be back if we need anymore work done on our cars.
