Rutters is capable of turning out excellent work for certain applications ... and incapable in other areas. They accept no responsibility for their mistakes, providing pat and insincere answers as a means to transfer blame to the customer. My advice: know what you want, hold them accountable and maybe your experience will be better than ours.12/8/18OK I wasn t planning on going into detail yet based on the company representative s response here are the facts:- We sent the car to them to have Vintage Air installed. I made the mistake of asking the tech to perform a compression test! (We collect and restore cars and had my plate full- didn t want to take on the job)-The experience with Rutters was like a bloodletting! We wanted to get the car home. We weren t going to leave it to them to charge us for issues they were unable to resolve!-The technician said that the transmission wasn t shifting right and that the engine (which they had rebuilt) ran a little rough like all Pontiac engines. Really?!- I smelled a rat! We brought it home and found that the Holley carb wasn t setup right, the shift linkage had a bind and that s why it didn t shift correctly!- Rutters refunded ZERO dollars to us and frankly I was just looking for an apology! Fat chance I was going to bring the car back to them!- The car continued to give us problems and we found that the main issue was the electronic ignition that they installed. After pulling the distributor I saw the distributor cam gear was distorted and chewed up!!!! Talk about concerned! I borescoped the cam and saw it was ok, Phew!- I ordered an original point distributor and installed it- The car starts, runs and shifts fine.- The response to my original post is expected - Office manager never returned calls. She just circles the wagons and points blame toward the customer. Their policy: When times get tough; go on the offensive!- As for Bob, the owner, seems like a good guy, and he understood our issues.(Please note last photo of riser return- You would think after spending the kind of money we did that this $2.00 piece would have been installed- at least for appearance sake. Fortunately, I had one. When you pay top dollar the little things mean a lot!)

We had a digital dash and cruise control installed on our 1978 GMC Truck. When they were done everything worked perfect. Rutters also fixed the hard starting that we had with our 383 stroker motor. They are very professional in everything that they do. Rutters also takes the time to explain everything that they are doing during the process and when the truck was picked up took the time to explain how the new features worked. Rutters staff is very knowledgeable and courteous. We will be bring our 1969 C10 to them to have it customized.

Worked on a couple of my projects from metal work to wiring. They always did what they said and I was always in the loop. Anytime they ran into a issue with a part new or old they would let me know and go over the options with me. Nothing was rigged just to get it out the door. They will not cut corners, even if you ask them to. I ran over my budget with one build due to body being worse then I thought. They were more then happy to put a short hold on the project till I was able to get back up to speed on funds and worked with me on a weekly budget after.

The staff over at Rutter's Rod Shop came through helping me with the alignment on my Chevelle after some suspension upgrades. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous with the whole process.

I have worked with Rutter on 2 projects. One was a high dollar show car and the other was a quick project daily driver. In every circumstance Rutter, Pat and Eddy exceeded my expectations for quality, cost and fairness. There is no question that they will be doing my next project. Check out the '73 Plymouth Cuda on their website!

Very unprofessional. Several phone calls to them and was lied to each time. Was told they had to make the part, and I asked if it made in house and was told yes, was delivered by an outside vender!
