I have owned multiple vehicles that Black s has serviced. I own a foreign car now and was worried about having to find another service place. Proud to say they are still my go to. The quality services and price is unmatched in this area. I am always kept well informed and they advise me before ever doing anything to my vehicles. Mitchell and his team are always so professional.

I only went in for a simple tune-up quote for my van. A small van, Ford E-250. For just a BASIC tune-up... $650!? A quarter of what I paid for the van itself. I honestly don't know their work performance but most of that cost was labor at $120.00 an hour! I'll type that again.. One hundred and twenty dollars an hour for labor. It you can afford them.. have at it

A gentleman with glasses working up front assisted me today with a supposed exhaust leak. He spotted that an O2 port was missing a sensor/bung. I probably would not have been able to spot this. I truly appreciate your help.

My recent visit to Blacks tire and auto service located at 630 US Hwy 70 SE in Hickory, NC, left me extremely disappointed. I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee to their shop to have the oil checked and to diagnose an issue with the 4X4, as it was not engaging properly. However, what should have been a routine visit turned into a nightmare.Upon picking up my vehicle, I discovered that they had left it stuck in 4X4 low mode, rendering it undrivable for more than 20 miles. When I approached the manager to address the issue, I was met with complete refusal to help and an outrageous claim that I had brought my vehicle in that condition, which was completely false. To make matters worse, they even attempted to charge me again for the same service they had failed to perform correctly in the first place. The lack of customer service mentality and integrity displayed by the management at Blacks tire and auto service is appalling. It is evident that their primary concern is making money rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. Their false statements about the condition in which my vehicle was brought in only add insult to injury.I strongly advise against wasting your valuable time and hard-earned money at this establishment. Instead, I recommend seeking out a different auto service provider that truly values their customers and takes accountability for their mistakes. It is crucial to find a place where you can trust the team working on your vehicle and have confidence in their abilities. In conclusion, my experience at Blacks tire and auto service was nothing short of a disaster. Their lack of professionalism, customer service, and integrity should serve as a warning to anyone considering their services. Spare yourself the frustration and disappointment by choosing an auto service provider that prioritizes their customers and acknowledges their own mistakes.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! My car was sent to Black Auto through Hickory Superstore for some small repairs. After 3 trips, nothing was ever resolved. I was originally told it was diagnosed as needing two-wheel bearings. When I picked it up, I was told only one bearing was replaced. I asked if this was something the car dealership only approved them to replace one, or what was the reasoning for just replacing one. My reply from Mitchell was "I just replaced one, and if the problem continues then bring it back and we will do the other one." As soon as I drove my car out of the parking lot, it was still making the roaring noise. Not only were my problems NEVER resolved...but my calls were never returned, or I was ever called to be updated or told what the progress was on my car. Mitchell was my assigned service provider. He is extremely arrogant and rude to deal with! During our last phone conversation, he was yelling at me to the point that I couldn't get a word in the conversation. I proceeded to call Hickory Superstore back and let them know about the customer service I have been receiving at Black Auto. Thankfully, they set me up to take my car to another local garage for the repairs that Black Auto failed to do for me. Also, my car had an issue with air conditioning not blowing. It was an intermittent issue that was happening on and off. Mitchell said he needed to see the issue happening to diagnose the problem...which is understandable. So, on 9/15/23, the air conditioning stopped blowing and was experiencing this issue as I had been describing. I immediately stopped where I was going and drove my vehicle to Black Auto so they could see the problem happening as Mitchell had requested. When I arrived, I was told Mitchell wasn't available. So, I asked if another technician could walk out to vehicle to see the issue with the A/C. The other tech took a look at the A/C and he very kindly said he would let Mitchell know the problem and what exactly he is seeing. He agreed there was NO AIR coming out of the vents-def a problem going on!!! After the 2nd trip on 9/15/23, I never received a call back from Mitchell as promised. So, I followed up with him on 9/19/23. I asked him if the other technician had relayed to him the issue he saw with my A/C when I brought my car by. Mitchell told me that "HE" is the one that needs to see the problem with his own eyes, not another tech. I explained to him that it is hard for me to stop what I'm doing to drive the vehicle immediately to Blacks Auto AGAIN, and then pinpoint that trip to a time that "HE" is available. Also, 3rd problem-I was told on the very 1st trip by Mitchell that my car needed a "dampening" in the driver's side door. He was going to order this part and let me know in a few days when it arrived. It is almost a month later, and I still have heard ZERO about this part. I have talked to the supervisor of the service department at Hickory Superstore numerous times, and I was assured that they are NOT telling Blacks to not fix my car. They are even having to send my vehicle to another garage for these issues since Blacks failed to help me. Long story short, I am not a typical complainer and I just hoped to get my car fixed within the three trips it made there for repairs. Mitchell is not someone I will ever deal with again, and I would NEVER recommend Black's Auto to anyone due to my experience here with him. I have made sure I spread the word to my family, friends, and co-workers that this is not a place I would ever visit again! Very disappointed!

We have been using Black's Tire for several years and have had great experience since we started going there. Most recently we had an oil issue while out of town and was able to get the van back to them. Blacks took the time to make sure that the van was fixed as soon as they could. At no fault of anyone, a gas line clip came off after we had picked up the van. I called Mitchell Anderson on his personal phone after hours and told him what had happened. Mitchell made sure to assure me that he would make everything right. Mitchell made sure to get the van fixed a second time. Not to mention Mitchell had our van idle for 30 min to make sure it was fixed correctly, not to mention, Mitchell put $20 of gas back in our van.All in all, no matter the need, go to Black's Tire and ask for Mitchell!!!!

Took my work van here to get an oil change. Everything went well, as expected. Guys at the counter are easy to get along with. It took about 35-45 minutes total but I don't have to worry about a under payed kid trying to hurry it along and stripping my drain plug out on my oil pan. Price was actually lower than the local quick lube. Even have a convenience bin for your 4 legged friends.

Great place for standard service or if you have a real issue with your car! I purchased a warranty from a dealer on my car and they were able to file it for me. Chris Venable is an awesome person to work with! Went above and beyond to make sure it went quickly and smoothly!

Had a sidewall flat, had only 17,780 miles on tire, had purchased their tire protection plan. What a joke! First they up-charged the new tire price wouldn t even come close to Walmart price , only gave me 25% with the protection plan because it was going on 3 years regardless of tire tread life! Still cost more than Walmart and would not price match even though I showed them Walmart price on the tire.Beware of this practice

Purchased a tires from this place 3/25 and as soon as I leave I had very bad vibration. They were closing so I had to wait until Monday. Came in Monday morning and was told my truck is out of alignment that I needed to take somewhere else because they don t do alignment. Long story short it was a bad tire and now they don t wanna compensate for the alignment. Nobody does good business anymore and I would stay away they are all rookies

Absolutely worst service I've gotten a car shop yet. Made an appointment last week for 10 am Monday, came in and handed my keys to a technician. At 1 PM, 3 hours later, my car has not been touched. When asked, the same technician said he forgot about it and dropped the ball. Upset, I let them continue until 2:30 PM when I asked for another update and they couldn't even find my car.... turns out it has been done for half an hour and it hasn't been brought out. On top of that still charged me full price... over $320 for two brakes that took almost 5 hours. Will never recommend to anyone, and definitely will stop taking my personal or company vehicles here.

They are the best! Toyota place across told me I had a nail in my tire and wanted me to buy a whole set, instead of just one...so went across the street to Black's--told buddy what was going on...he took my car back, jacked it up...told me my tires were good and told me what the problem was...a sensor!!!! And they didn't even charge me. Any future problems I have I'll just turn right into thier parking lot instead of left into the dealership

Horrible work that ends in dangerous situations. Got my rear brake pads and rotors replaced, started to have braking issues and as it s an older vehicle I assumed the calipers were at the end of their life. They told me the calipers were just fine and just needed a little grease. Fast forward to my next oil change and I m told my rear brake pads are low. Once again I asked to check the calipers because that shouldn t happen that quick. Was told again they only needed some grease. A little while later my brakes are squealing and the pads are basically gone. $450 later I learned the pads were put on the wrong side and not put in correctly causing a tear in the caliper boot which was not only causing sticking but also a slow brake fluid leak. If I had ignored this and the fluid got too low I could ve found myself on the highway with no brakes. Glad they have the money to renovate the falling apart building but should probably pour some money into hiring professional technicians who value the safety of their customers.

Waited all day for a set of tires and front brakes. Hands down the worse tire experience in years. They also kept lieing to me telling me they were waiting on cabin air filter till I said I'll buy my own and I see them hurrying up pouring oil and got it all over the motor. Left the shop and it was smoking like crazy for hours

I cannot say enough good things about this place! This morning I showed up expecting to have to pay a good amount to have my rear brakes done and possibly have to pay for new rotors. After a good inspection, I was told I did not need my brakes done after all. That I had about 20,000 mi left of good brake pads. Other places I've been would have put new brake pads on without another thought and gotten their money for the day. Honest nice people!

They are the best mechanics I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Very professional and they take really good care of my car. They have a kid area and a really nice open waiting area. I love taking my car here and i wont take my car else where if I don't have to. Chad runs a tight ship with his team. They are a true HONEST MECHANIC!!!

I had my oil changed here and I will not be going back. They bent the hood prop rod so badly it looked like someone tried to slam the hood shut with the rod still up and the oil plug was stripped.

Omg. Had the worse experience. Was getting two new tires and a rotation and an inspection. They call to say its ready. I get there and the new tires are still in the trunk! Have to wait on them to install. Get home and the inspection will not come through to dmv. They put in the wrong VIN! I had to take it back for a new inspection. Left on my trip. The front end starts making a horrible noise. Take it to a local shop on vacay. The lug nuts were not tightened and my wheel wobbled so bad i have to buy another rim now. Do not go there! Bad news!

Nice staff and a clean, welcoming waiting area. The restroom was clean and well stocked. I appreciate the coffee bar area. They are pet friendly, too. We've been here several times and have been pleased with the work we've had done.

This place is my new go to shop. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I used them just out of spontaneity and I'm really glad I did. They have a awesome waiting room inside that is pet friendly so you can bring your pupper. The prices seen to be in line with surrounding service shops. So as of right now I recommend using black tire.

Quick service, amazing customer service. Have not had a better experience getting a car fixed. The free Keurig coffee and wifi makes the experience welcoming as well. If only the TV had more options but that doesn't diminish their amazing service.

Took my car there a couple weeks back to get my A/C fixed and to have them see why the check engine light was on. They told me the A/C components needed replaced and it was going to be $1400 I told them I didn t have the money and asked why the check engine light was on they told me it was the O2 sensor and it could cost anywhere between $100-$1000 I didn t have the money at the time and I told the mechanic I would bring it back in to get it fixed after I got paid and he told me he would waive the $95 diagnostic fee I took it in there to get it fixed they pushed my AUX cord outlet in and they charged me the $95 so I went back in there as soon as they opened up on Monday since they fixed it Saturday and told me they wouldnt waive the fee and went ahead and fixed there mistake. They lost my business, my moms business and will not be recommending them! When you tell a costumer you ll waive the diagnostic fee if you bring it back in to get it fixed you need to stick with your WORD and NOT GO BACK ON IT! Most mechanics will waive the diagnostic fee if you get it fixed at there shop!

Long story short, my experience wasn t a very good one after being a loyal customer for 2 years. After posting my initial review, I was contacted by the manager and I feel he did what he could to make the situation right. I would say that while I m not sure I will go back, anyone who goes there can feel comfortable knowing that if the ball is dropped they will try to make to make it right. That said, my experience had been stellar prior to this. I guess the flip side is that when a bad experience is had, it magnifies how bad it is.
