5 hours of labor time at $125 an hour to tell me, They think its a fuel sensor. Replaced a $50 sensor. Total cost $775. 3 days later i was left stranded on the side of the road. Tool it to a different garage and they replace the fuel pump in the fuel take for $125 dollars less. Back in action.

Great experience! Honest and trustworthy! My friend suggested that I take my truck to Mr. Coffey because he knows so much about Toyota vehicles. I am so glad that I did! Mr. Coffey took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. He did not pressure me into making any repairs. He actually charged me less for his services than the price he quoted to me! I will definitely bring my vehicle back to him!Service: Vehicle Inspection

They are very honest, thorough, and explain options and costs for any needed repairs. I highly recommend them over most of the dealer shops that are always trying to sell un-needed services. I have an old '85 pick-up that was my father's before he passed, and it is always needing work because of its age, and they have done a great job in helping me choose the top priority and taking care of it quickly and cost effectively!

I was yelled at over the phone for asking questions about getting a repair quote. I would not recommend them based on this customer service experience.

I had a 25,000 mile service check on my 2006 Toyota Avalon, prior to a holiday vacation. The service manager quoted me a good price for service to be performed. The service was completed within the time frame that was indicated.We started and completed our holiday vacation with the full assurance of a trouble free trip. As with prior service, I was very satisfied with the service rendered. Auto Masters maintains a very reliable, courteous and trained professional staff. This is a business that can be relied on for professional auto service of any kind.

Called in that morning and was able to work on my car the same day! Very kind and understanding people and made me feel welcome. I called about my car and talked very respectfully while calling, A lady answered the phone and she told me they would have to do a diagnostics and I said okay so how much would that be and she replied by saying well you gotta pay my guys I said I m aware of that I would just like to know the price of the test and she said anywhere is gonna cost you and never answered my question. She said all this with a horrible attitude, this is not a bad review to the business just a bad review for the lady who answered the phone on 11/23/22, she has caused this business to lose a customer and some others.

I can t say enough good things about this place. After going to different mechanics for work on our newly purchased car we were left with the same issues. It was discouraging being taken advantage of. David and his team thoroughly checked everything out and did top notch work. Our car now runs like new. If you want honest good service this is the place for you. I went to a mechanic on 321 and they were wanting to charge me over $500 and it could potentially not fix the problem. It didn't feel right so I did my research and auto masters had high ratings and reviews. When I went to get my car serviced the staff there were so honest and straight forward with me. My cost ended up being a third of the cost than what the other guys were wanting to charge me. My car still needs to loving so I am taking her to auto masters from now on.

This place was amazing. It was my first time going and ill gladly be back and tell my friends and family about my good experience. Very knowledgeable and kind staff. Dave and his staff are knowledgeable and efficient in taking care of any car needs you may have. They were a great help when our car broke down on our way home from Ashville. I can only wish they were closer to home for us. I would use them for all our vehicle needs. Very reasonable prices.

On a recent trip where I was headed to Florida, my car broke down on 321 South in Hickory. I have not had repair service done in Hickory before, so when I called AAA to call a tow-truck, I asked for a recommendation for service. The operator recommended Auto Master as a AAA-approved garage. My car was towed to the shop and owners Alicia and David Coffey both listened closely to my situation and began trying to get me back on the road, although it was nearly closing time (5pm). By 5:30, they let me know that it was going to take a couple of days to get the necessary fuel pump installed and further explore timing belt issues. I heard from David each of the days that followed, and two days later the fuel pump was installed and after fully investigating the timing belt issues further, he felt confident that I could safely continue my 600 mile trip to Florida and back. I picked up the car and it drove perfectly. The repairs were completed as quickly as possible, and I also felt that the customer service was "above and beyond" the call, giving me peace of mind that -- although I had never met them before -- I was being treated like family. I highly recommend Auto Master for automotive service for routine maintenance or big repairs: It's great to meet experts who are also such great people. Thank you again for taking care of me Alicia, David and Rob!

You guys surprised me! I googled how much it would cost for the job that yall performed and Google told me the pricing would be quite high. But when I received the bill, i was very surprised. I was greeted like a real customer. I was told about how the diagnosis and repair would happen. I would definitely refer all of my friends and family and their friends to this place. I very much enjoyed my experience.

Went in thinking I would need a $500 repair based on what another shop had told me. This turned out to not to be the real problem and they ended up fixing the main problem at hand for $260. David also explained everything to me in detail and in terms easy to understand. It s been over a week and still no problems would recommend to anyone. Very nice people.

I haven't had my card worked on yet, but just calling in I have to write a review! I called them to ask a general question about the process to replace a part on my car, they told me right away how it works, and was super polite with their explanation. When I do get a part replaced I'm confident they could do the job!

These folks seem really honest. One of our vehicles has over 150,000 miles on it, and we're not sure how much more $$ we want to put into it. We've taken it there twice, and both times they have really explained all of our options, and didn't push us for more expensive services. We checked around on the prices for what they did, and it turns out their prices are very good too...

If you want an extremely knowledgeable team of mechanics working on your vehicle, this is the place to go. We have had everything from replacing axles to completely rewiring an older vehicles lights. They will always explain in easy to understand terms what is going on and they are very fair in their pricing. As a woman customer, I feel very comfortable going to Automaster; that is not always the case in some auto shops. Best place in the unifour area in my opinion.

We were very fortunate to have picked Auto Master. During our trip from Mooresville to Asheville we came in as a result of hitting a chunk of metal on the interstate damaging our catalytic converter and gas tank . They took our van in right away, showed me the damage, and discussed the details in a professional manner. The whole staff was professional and very helpful. They assisted me with what I needed for the insurance company and were able to order the parts and have the repairs completed in less than 24 hours.

If you want someone that you can TRUST, someone that is knowledgeable, these are the folks to take your vehicle to. I can't say enough about Auto Master. They are locally owned which is also a plus to me. I had an issue with my Dodge Durango that went on for a year and several auto shops, each shop wanted to replace several things that would have been very costly, finally someone recommended Auto Master. After one visit problem fixed and nowhere near the cost I was quoted for all the other things previous shops said I needed. Thank you guys for all you have done for me. Paulette Walker

I have yet to need any major repairs at Auto Master, but will say the few times I have been in for inspections, minor repair, and the like, I was impressed. My stepdad, a retired mechanic, has known these folks for years and recommended them to me. If a repair beyond my abilities comes up, I will stop at Auto Master first.

Trying to do a pre-purchase inspection on a used car out of the area, I found Auto Master and they were my first call. They seemed extremely thorough and found body work on the car which had not been disclosed in the Carfax or by the selling dealer. They even aired up a low tire and drove it again to check if it fixed a pull, as well as checking it for leaks in the tire. They knew exactly what I wanted and made the process easy. For someone who is hours away that means a lot. They've sold me on the concept of a pre-purchase inspection whether I could be there or not. I'll always get one from now on and if I ever look at a car in Hickory again I'll get Auto Master to do it.

It took over an hour to inspect my vehicle and no inspection should EVER take that long. And I just had it serviced bc I have family that does it. They said it needed all these repairs and failed my inspection. This is a nice place but when I ve had all the stuff replaced they said I needed and they told me it was gonna be thousands of dollars.....no.

I have been satisfied with Auto Master for many years now. I will continue to take my vehicles to them for maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled. They do honest work and care about their customers.
