I have been taking my car's to Aiken and Black for years and they have always been treated fair. David and Penny are honest people and I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been getting tires and vehicle service there since 1998. Always a positive experience. Their pricing is competitive and work top notch. They will do what you ask but if you are wasting money they will advise you so you know. The owners and mechanics have always been friendly and did their best to work within your schedule. Honest people.

Great price (for what I needed done)! Courteous and friendly service. Looks like I'll be making another trip very soon for my rotors. Hopefully I'll be compelled to submit a 5-star rating!

Came here for inspection service. I left impressed with their customer service. Very nice and honest people here at this shop.They weren't just nice and honest to me but every other customer. I've heard the discussion that they had with an older lady on tires and tire prices and they definitely earned my business and respect.I got a quote for out the door price for tires and they beat the big box stores in prices.

I dropped my car off at 7:45am on Thursday, July 6th. I informed Aiken-Black that I needed two back tires and 4 new brakes, possibly rotors. The gentleman (owner) informed me they would try to get to it today, but that every mechanic in Catawba county was on a 2 week wait right now. I never got a call to inform me my car was ready, so at 4:30 I called them. They stated my car was ready, I only needed two tires and back brakes replaced, stated my front brakes were perfectly fine, and that they close at 5pm. I went to pick up my car, the work that was done was reiterated to me again, verbally, again stating I did not need front brakes or rotors. On my way home the following day, I heard an awful grinding noise. As the weekend continued, the sound and "feeling" of grinding got worse. This morning, I took my car to a different service shop regarding the noise and was told my front brakes and rotors do need to be replaced because they are grinding METAL ON METAL and my front brakes were NON-EXISTANT!Not only was I lied to about not needing new brakes on the front (and rotors), but due to the poor condition of my front brakes and rotors, the integrity of this business is lacking, allowing me to get into my car and drive off knowing good and well they likely didn't even check my front brakes. (My guess is they were too busy) Thankfully my family and I were not hurt due to this negligence, but I am FLOORED that a reputable Tire Service shop would do this.

I had a tire change their and lost my lock nut socket. The mechanics are really friendly and they use one of theirs to get my tire off and get it. But the owner just lost thousands of dollars worth of business because he got mad and tried to charge me $12 for them having to take my lock nut off. Even though I told them I had a key to get it off. He then proceeded to argue with me and tried to push me out the door and told me to leave so I will not do any business with them anymore....

I've been coming here since 2011 and have never had a bad experience. Tires, oil changes, rim repair, state inspection, etc. they have handled all. Sometimes they are busy, but they do all they can to get you in and out as quickly as possible. Price on tires is the best I've found. Davey Black has my trust and my business.

Stopped in due to an emergency tire leak. Service was excellent and repaired my tire quickly. Employees are awesome. Highly recommended.

David and his son Davey Black are amazing people. They have a great selection of tires and services and are very reasonable on their prices. This has been my go to place for tires for over 30 years.

Been going here for years, seems like the quality of help they are getting is diminishing Prices keep increasing to where i can get oil changes and such cheaper at the dealership, quality of the work continues to diminish as well. Had them rotate my tires when i got my last oil change which they did ( i purchased the tires there). Take it on the road the next day and have a bad wobble, take it back at my first chance and they charged me to balance the tires they had just rotated and balanced 5k miles ago. Going to have to look elsewhere moving forward which stinks because they are right down the road.

very dishonest and charge $80 for a free test that auto zone does for $0. I specfically asked to be called before anywork besides tire was completed(quoted $150). they called and told me my car was ready and that it would be $305. When i asked about it i was then called a lair and was told to never come back. please do not give them any of your money.

My family has been coming here for years. They have changed over the years. How do you charge someone for something that your company damaged. That's not good business. It doesn't matter if the cost wasn't that much. It's the principal behind it. It just lets me know how this company has changed its business ethics.

I'm outsider and these people are the best I needed tractor trailer tire and they had shop full and they still got me in and out in 30mins definitely recommend everyone to then honest people also gave me price of 182 but I end up needing another size they charged me less 160.50 which could have changed me 182... good people

Great hometown service!Edited 2-11-23.. once again, David and Davy exceed every expectation with superior work, products, and most importantly, personal. Timely customer service.I am a business owner, and they always make their absolute best effort to accommodate me in a timely manner.I will be a customer as long as they are in business.

Do not recommend. They couldn t replace my lower ball joints because they didn t have a tool to compress my shocks they don t need to be compressed or touched, you can literally do the install with the shock still bolted in place.Update, decided I d take a crack at the install. Bought the tools and had the lower ball joint out WITHOUT removing the shock at all.

My husband and I thought these people were straight up nice and honest people. Then the day came when we needed serious work done we saw their true character. No person was willing to accept responsibility for tearing up the transmission in our car. When my husband called them prior to learning what they did, they hung up the phone on us several times and never apologized. I never felt so disrespected. If you want great quality service I suggest you go elsewhere.

I took the bus from work there to get the tire pressure checked. One of them was showing low. They found a nail and repaired it. They are first come first serve but still got me out quickly. Very nice people work here.

I took my car to get my tire patched up they did it for me I paid for it and left barely go 20 min down the road then tire went flat again then wouldn t even offer me my money back horrible service I shouldn t have to come all the way back to the shop was only in area to drop roommate off at work was heading home I shouldn t have to come all the way back to the store if I paid with card you should just give me my money back on card if it wasn t for my roommate bringing me another tire I d be stuck on highway still

My family has been going to Aiken-Black for everything from an oil change to an engine replacement for over 30 years. There has never been a reason to go anywhere else. David, Davey, Bobby, and Charlie always have time for you. If it involves a motor vehicle of any kind, they can help you.

best service I've experienced in a while.. they were knowledgeable and understanding.. if I'm in town I will definitely see them for any of my needs.. the lil lady that answers the phone and does everything she is the sweetest

They have the best price in Hickory for used tires! Due to circumstances I came in close to closing time, but Jason and Timothy were very helpful! They even searched for a better set of tires for me. After experiencing how they treat their customers I came back in the same week for another tire for my other car. Now I am all set, Thanks Dave and Penny!

Great prices but could work on their customer service a bitUpdate 12/09/22 customer service was MUCH better this time! Still unbeatable prices for used tires. Kudos!!!
