Over the Top ServiceOn September 29, 2023 my wife & I were traveling to Hilton Head, SC for a family wedding the following day. Just south of Asheville I received a warning message on my Cadillac Xt5 indicating that my steering assist was reduced drive carefully . I had received this message before. Not knowing exactly what it meant I googled it and found out that in most cases it meant an open thermostat problem that is common with that engine and that it should be covered under my powertrain warranty. I had taken my vehicle into a dealer by my home in Michigan to have the problem repaired. They told me it wasn t a thermostat problem but rather a coolant issue that cost $1,600 to repair. Needless to say I wasn t very happy about that but authorized the repair.Upon receiving the message a second time I was sure the problem was the thermostat. I ask my wife to contact the nearest GM dealer which happened be Boyd GMC in Hendersonville, NC. We called their service department and explained the issue to their service rep, Randy, as well as the fact that we had to be in Hilton Head that evening. He said to bring it and they would see what they could do.Randy was there to meet us when we pulled into the service bay. Using his OBD he confirmed that it was a code #P128 thermostat problem. He checked with his parts department to confirmed that they had the parts to make the repair and also confirmed that the cost of the repair was covered by my powertrain warranty. He then told us that because we had been driving for a while the engine was hot and it had to cool before they could work on it and it may take approximately 4 hrs to make the repair. Of course I authorized the repair. My wife and I settled in for the wait.Approximately 2 hours later Randy came into the waiting area to tell us that our vehicle was ready. To say we were surprised and delighted would be an understatement. Randy explained that knowing our circumstances they put a fan on the engine to help cool the engine faster and assigned one of their best mechanics to do the work. We really couldn t believe it. We were so fortunate to have gone to Boyd GMC. We arrive in Hilton Head at 5PM in time to have dinner with our friends and family.We want to acknowledged Randy and the Boyd service team for a job well done. They went over and above for us and we truly appreciated it. Thank you so much.Best regards,Harold & Kathy McDonald

Cameron makes my trips to Boyd worth my time by greeting me at my given appointment time at the maintenance bay. In fact I was early for my appointment, he seen me waiting by the dealership and flagged me to drive up to the bay. Great customer service, always with a smile like my business matters to him. As long as Cameron is around I know will be valued as a customer.

Just bought a vehicle from this place and had an amazing experience. I drove 4 hrs away just to come to this dealership. Lee Edgerton helped me and set the standard. He worked hard to correct any mistakes that were made and presented me with a deal that I loved. Great staff and buying experience. I would buy from here again without hesitation.

Not a huge fan of car dealerships but Boyd Cadillac was one of the best experiences I had, except for the cranky finance guy, we had asked about another warranty and it was like he didn't care he never mentioned it or talked about it with us at all..He was just very standoffish and not very friendly.. Heath Potter was our salesman and he was so friendly and polite, not pushy at all. He answered all our questions and was so nice. I definitely recommend Boyd Cadillac if your looking for a new car or a used car. The process was so quick and fairly easy. It didn't take all day so that was nice. Great job Heath we will be back! Thank you again!

I ordered some accessories for my 2017 Volt and made an appointment to have one of them installed and pick up the rest. I dropped the car off at 9am. I made 3 requests when dropping off my car: do NOT install sill plates, give me the old charge port frame that is being replaced with the new accessory version, and plug the car in to charge when the work is complete.At 12:39pm, I received a voicemail telling me the car was finished and ready for pick-up. Assuming the car was charging as requested, I finished my errands and arrived at the dealership around 1:30pm to find my car parked in the parking lot.When I went inside, I asked if the car had been plugged in as requested and we determined it had not and I had no electric charge for the trip home (over a steep mountain grade). I asked them to plug the car up and proceeded to wait in their waiting area. While waiting for the car to charge, I went ahead and settled up on the bill for my parts and installation (Over $500).At approximately 3:45pm, I asked them to retrieve my car with 24 miles of electric available so I could go home. When I opened the door to place my items inside, I immediately noticed the sill plates had been installed against my wishes. (They go on the trim at the bottom of the inside door frame). At this point, employees had been in and out of my car at least 6 times and no one had noticed they had installed a part I'd asked them not to.I went inside and told the service advisor (Steven) that we had a problem and I needed to talk to someone about a complaint against the Service Department. He told me to follow him into the Service Manager's (Joey) office. Steven started telling him that a part I had purchased but had asked them not to install had been erroneously installed when Joey said "Well, what's the problem?" I replied "Let's see: not following instructions, doing what I asked you not to, installing a part I wanted to choose the position of myself . . ." I didn't get to finish because Joey SHUSHED me and told me he wanted to get the story from Steven. NOT THE OWNER OF THE CAR OR THE CUSTOMER WHO JUST PAID THEM.I walked out and ended up speaking to the Used Car Manager (2nd in command) because the GM wasn't working. They brought my car around so I could inspect for any other problems. This is now 10 in/out trips in my cars by employees.I found trash piled on my windshield. And the original charge port I had replaced with the accessory version was nowhere to be found. Steven found it IN THE TRASH!!!!The Used Car Manager reordered the sill plates and offered to remove the ones that had been put on incorrectly. He also asked the GM to call me the following Monday (this was on a Friday afternoon). I told him I'd have to think about letting them touch my car again, even to remove the sill plates. I and my car had been thorougly disrespected all day long.The GM called Monday morning and offered a week and apathetic "I'm sorry, but that's all I can do." I will never let anyone at Boyd touch either of my vehicles again. Their disrespect for women is beyond all belief and they don't even have any accountability. Disgusting.

I just want everyone to know what has happened to a friend of mine. He has had several Cadillac over the years. Always have them services. His radio went out and he purchased a radio for $1060.00. He had a lot of issues with this $1060.00 radio. Take it up to Boyd Catillac several times, and do mean several time to be reset. The last time they kept his car for a month. Then was told it out of warranty (reallllly). After been told when he brought the car to them they would replace the radio. Wants me to do business with this company. Just wanted to share this so others will be aware.

My initial contact with Heather Johnson, Internet Manager and Iris Zohar, Internet Sales Coordinator confirmed that Boyd Cadillac had a knowledgeable and professional staff. Both women understood my situation and needs, willingly explained processes and answered questions. As Internet Manager, Heather made sure everything was going as planned...and intervened when it skidded a bit sideways. Without the help of these two women, the purchase of a certified pre-owned Cadillac from Boyd would not have been possible. The Finance Director, Shannon Hudson, was helpful also to provide assistance with that side of the process which was complicated by my living in IL and unable to come to the dealership and drive the car home. As a longtime Cadillac owner I am more than pleased with the car and would recommend Boyd Automotive as a result of the knowledgeable staff noted who assisted me.
