My wife and I had our first visit to Saxapahaw with this butcher in mind as a stop and really found it to be a place we will definitely visit again. The owner, Ross, is very down to earth and friendly with lots of knowledge and options in meats. We purchased our meats, left our products in their fridge and freezer, went on a walk by the Haw River, and returned for our pick up.We bought some beautiful, tasty marrow butter along with a number of different meats we've never had before.

This is a must stop when we are in the area. We drive to town to hike the Haw, and part of the fun is getting something excellent to eat. Everything has been excellent. Fresh beef, pork, fish and chicken. Some prepared items, like Pozole and Isaac's Bagels. Prepped and ready to cook dishes. We like to enter with our options open and see what they have.

Such a great place! Loaded up my cooler with chorizo, steak, birria, hot dog chili, meatloaf, ramen broth, dog treats, marrow butter, Thai and Italian sausage, Tasso ham, and a few other items. Everything has been delicious so far. The customer service is outstanding. Can t wait to go back!

Great traditional butcher shop with very nice cuts. They also make a variety of lunch meats on-site...and they are all delicious!

After many visits, we have not bought one thing that was not fantastic. Last night we used Left Banks' Italian Sausage as the base for red sauce and homemade pasta - hands down the best Italian Sausage we have ever had.The breakfast sausage is also delicious - it has a bit of a pop - which we enjoyed! The meat grind and spices were perfect.

Have never been disappointed with this establishment! Great choices of cuts and get what you need on order from a local farm! TOP NOTCH! Have a meat question, Great! They have the answer and take the time to explain it. That's why I drive an hour to go here. If you are inclined, have a pint at the brewery and some food at one of the eateries.....You won't be disappointed!

Aside from being in a fantastic location, the staff is very knowledgeable and SUPER friendly. I got the pastrami AND MY GOODNESS. I ate it all before it ever made it to the house lol.The staff helped me pick out a great meat and portion size. Will definitely be back!

This is the real deal. We stopped in before a festival to pick up some meats to snack on and wow, everything was so delicious. The meat sticks and salamis were so flavorful and paired amazingly well with the fresh bread available in store. We only wish we had prepared to bring more home with us! Definitely make this a required stop while in town.

We love to get local, organic, grass fed beef here.And one thing we also like to order is bones canoed for the bone marrow.More than once I special ordered when I was told cows were coming in.I then drove 45 mins to the butchery to be told on both occasions that they didn t not have it for me as promised.Zero apologies. Just poorly run on phone orders.I ve resolved myself to just showing up and getting whatever they have in stock when I walk in. Special orders are really non-existent.Items are a little pricey compared to other local organic farms I get meat from, but I m sure it is because they are in a premium location.We make a trip of it with a hike and dinner at the Eddy and a trip into the country store. So quaint and lovely.Time your trip so you get to catch the sunset and dinner at the Eddy.P.S.The butchery also has great bones for the dogs!

After not being able to eat meat for 14 years, finding Left Bank Butchery has been the best thing for reintroducing quality meat into my diet. I have been making weekly trips to the Raleigh location and have to say Drew has made all the difference. Even with other customers busily choosing their food, he takes his time explaining meat in a way I have never heard. I know I can ask him about any recipe I find, and he always suggests the right cut. Thank you Drew for making my shopping experience personal, relational and welcoming me to "the dark side". - Jenni

Lovely customer service. Best pat� I ve had ever. Sadly, I only got a taste of it! My sweet furry nephew beagle managed to pull the rest of it off the charcuterie plate ... . Try the bacon onion jam and the Rancho Garda beans they carry. But most of all, enjoy the friendly service. Was a great experience.

Knowledgeable friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere, you can see the butcher working crafting the meat. Lots of extras available on request, supreme quality organic meat at reasonable prices.

Have just had the kielbasa so far, so might be sampling error. The kielbasa is one of the best I have ever eaten. Very good base ground meat. Perfectly smoked and spiced. Mixing a chunk in a black bean stew.

AMAZING product. Seriously, this is the best meat you will buy anywhere. All their cuts, sausages, and chacuterie are done in-house, and you can taste the difference. Owner and staff are as knowledgeable and friendly as you could want. My family enjoyed brunch at the Saxapahaw General Store, and then spent another half hour at LeftBank Butchery...awesome way to spend a couple hours!

Guanciale. Get it, make some carbonara, or Amatriciana. Very easy recipes, but because of super high quality pork, whole hog butchery and the skill and craftsmanship of Left Bank you'll have a 5 star meal. Every item in the shop contributes to your cooking in the same way. We're really lucky to have this place!

Amazing local butcher with all local meats. They do whole animal butchery here so nothing is wasted and can get unusual cuts if you are looking for somethjng specific. Call ahead and they will get something ready for you or stop in and ask what they recommend.Have been waiting and looking for a real butcher and Left Bank Butchery is thr real deal!

Love this place!! The quality is far superior to anywhere we have found in NC and it is an actual butcher! We haven t been able to find a real butcher in this area until we discovered this place.

Holy shake n bake, Mama, this meat is GOOD!In the spring and summer they have Gorgeous wildflower bouquets for sale, too. And freshly baked bread, baby cut it up and put some MEAT ON IT!Literally the best butchery and people of all time Okay. First time I walked in I was like, Meat. Neat. And then I thought, Omg. That s what meat is *supposed* to look like. So, I bought a meat packageTook it homeMarveled at how they burritoed my meat with sturdy paper and a stickerConsidered saving the paper bc #yoloPlopped the fancy flesh in a hot pan and flipped itAte itDied.Literally died. AI m here to tell you that it was worth it.Buy the meat package.

This place is fantastic. The service was great and the people who work there are really well informed about where everything is sourced from. Plus they sell other goodies like tallow soap and fresh pasta!

The Left Bank Butchery has a great selection of local meats sourced from responsible farms in the area. On Saturdays they usually have good pig rinds which go fast.

Just saw the thing about you on PBS. Love the land management, animal husbandry, butcher shop. Thanks for doing so much for the planet. I will definitely be stopping by when I am in the area. Thanks again for all you do.
