Tim has always been extremely friendly and upfront about what he can and cannot do for myself or my family. He has also been very approachable about any questions we have had in regards to all of our vehicles and most recently when asking about an inspection and look through of a vehicle recently purchased! Price for services rendered are also by far the most market friendly I have had the pleasure of seeing in my line of automotive servicing over the years! Very competitive and friendly to your accounts

Came in to Loftin's after my check engine light started blinking. Tim the owner took me in right away and got to work. Within an hour he properly diagnosed the issues, then recieved and installed new spark plugs and coils for me. Tim is professional and knows what he's doing. I drove in from NYC, so I also learned some history of the area from him in the meantime while waiting for the parts to arrive. I recieved excellent service and finding this shop at the time I did was a gigantic blessing. Thanks again Tim.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Loftin's does great work at a fair price. The owner takes his time to explain the repairs needed. Each time I take my car in they do high quality work. I am completely satisfied with Loftin's. I will continue to take my car to them and highly recommend them to anyone needing service or repairs on their vehicles.

I went to repair the brake of my car in Loftin s Tire & Automotive Service. What I noticed in them is truly praiseworthy. They are easy and less costly than the another one in Gastonia,NC. I got reliable and credible work done. Good customer service and scheduling. Technicians are friendly and honest.

Professional, quality and timely service. They found the problem right away and I was kept well informed throughout my car's repair. The price was right and I highly recommend this shop. It's also mom approved, she's the one who told me about this place. They've treated her right for years.

This place is great. I went to Loftin's Automotive for an oil change and a possibly a new oil plug. Was told by a previous shop that my oil plug threads were damaged and that I needed a new oil plug or my oil pan my be damage as well. I didn't want to go back to that previous shop b/c I felt like they were trying to deceive me and make extra money. Mr. Loftin change my oil and check the plug and nothing was wrong with my oil plug or oil pan. Fastest oil change ever and nothing was wrong with the bolt or plug. I definitely will visit his shop whenever I need an oil change or anything car related. Honest mechanic.

GO HERE!!! I went to another auto repair shop and was VERY discouraged at the high prices...so, I went to Loftins tire and automotive and I am SO glad I did. They are very nice, super honest with you and a lot cheaper than anywhere I have gone to in the past. I highly recommend them for all auto repairs. The owner is so nice and makes your experience in dealing with your crappy car so much better!

We were visiting the Belmont/Gastonia area from Indiana and on the morning of our planned departure our car was making an awful grinding noise. I pulled into Loftin's randomly with no appointment and asked if he had time to put the car on the lift to see what we could see. Without blinking an eye, he had the car up on the lift and a few short minutes later the problem was solved and we were on our way with peace mind before hitting the interstate. If we lived in the area, Loftin's would be our new auto shop. Thank you SO much!!!

RESPONSE TO TIM - ORIGINAL POST BELOWI never said it was in the last week... That's the posting date. Not the time at which it happened. The fact that you would get on here and personally attack someone shows your degree of professionalism and is yet another reason why I suggest no one take there car to Loftin's. The reason for the negative reviews is to prevent people who don't know any better from getting robbed by people like you. They pay for perfectly good parts to be replaced because a shop doesn't know what is wrong and is just guessing at the problem. When I take it to a certified mechanic and pay them close to $600, I don't expect to leave with the same problem I came in with.First off the car isn't a hack job. The birds nest wiring you are referring to was a universal 02 sensor from Advanced. (which you replaced with another spliced/universal/birds nest o2 sensor) I told you that the reason there car wasn't going into closed loop was because of the post cat o2 sensor but I guess you didn't listen to that. Being a "mechanic" you should have known that in the first place. You told me the thermostat was preventing it from going into closed loop before you even replaced the o2 sensor which you KNEW was preventing the computer from reading correctly. You didn't diagnose he car in one minute. It took you a week just to look at it after I had called twice to check on the progress. I told you exactly what was done to the car and what I had tried to do to fix it. You still assured me that you could fix it. Bottom line is you took $575 when you told me you could fix the car... AND YOU DIDNT FIX THE CAR, and then you didn't even want to talk to me when I tried to comeback and see if we could at least figure something out. You took my money and ran!As for your personal attacks. I worked as a tech at Sears and did more in depth work on the side. None of which was electrical, which is why you had the car!You call me a ricer/wanna be Fast and Furious kid yet you drive a Subaru (A VERY SIMILAR CAR TO MINE) that is modifie. Which I might add, you didn't have the know how modify yourself. You told me how you took it to another shop to have them install the parts for you. There are high school kids putting the same parts on their cars all by themselves yet Tim Loftin who owns a garage can't do his himself. Then you proceeded to brag about how you kept getting pulled over by the cops and how many tickets you had gotten like you were a cool 16 year old boy.If your looking for a fast, careless 10 min oil change Tim is obviously your man! Anything more in depth than that...be prepared to pay him to throw parts at it and pray that it gets fixed!I would however recommend B & W in Belmont. They've treated my mother right for years and have always quoted, what I consider, a very fair price. Anytime they do work, the car is started on and finished that day. (even in depth work)ORIGINAL POSTDropped my car off describing the problem. The owner, Tim, assured me they could fix it. After charging me $575 for a thermostat and an O2 sensor (would have been a $300 repair anywhere else) he assured me the car was fixed. I picked the car up at closing time, drove the car and the problem was still there. I didn't have time off work to go back up to the shop until two weeks later so I parked it. I took a day off and went back to Tim. He said that he would replace anything I told him but that was all he would do. He basically told me that he didn't know what to do to fix it. He now has my $575 and I still have a broken car. I guess if you want an oil change then Lofton's is fine, but as far as diagnosis and standing behind their work... They earned every bit of this one star rating.

Bennie and Tim are excellent and friendly automotive mechanics. When we had older cars, we always took them here for repairs. With our newer cars, we go here for their annual inspections.
