I had a wonderful experience with Helton Automotive, which is why I'm taking the time to write a review. I travel a lot in the region, and my car began making a humming sound.The gentlemen quickly diagnosed the issue, a wheel bearing. The service was excellent, inexpensive, and inspired confidence. I'm so glad I chose a privately-owned shop before going to a chain. I always get better service at local shops, and I intend to use Helton in the future! Ladies, these guys will listen to you too. Always a plus. Thank you, Helton Automotive Team!

They are the best in the business!!! Never had a mechanic take take of my family and our vehicles better than Helton!!! Howard is honest and straight forward. Ever since I moved to Stanley he was my go to and now I'll drive out of my way to go to Gastonia because of his hospitality and work. Thank you so much for everything you do for our vehicles and family!!!

I find it hard to believe they have any good reviews. The older gentleman worked on my car twice, and messed it up twice. The second time it was towed there without me knowing by my insurance company. When I picked it up, the entire panel of the passenger door was lying on the floor with several tools on top, and wires hanging from under the dash. No way was I going back in to allow him to touch my car again. The first time I picked it up and was told my engine light was on (wasn t before) and he couldn t figure out why! Really? I also found out later that the hose put on my gas line was the wrong size. It was too small! I was told it was the size for a riding lawnmower! I will never go back there obviously. Several other mechanics in town have said the same thing- Do not take your car there.

had such great experience with all these fellas when My tire decided to fall off and snap my bolts they fixed my tire in 20 mins and I was back on the road amazing service highly recommended

It is so hard to find a mechanic that will treat a woman with respect and not try to take advantage of her and try to over charge!!! I have been to several mechanics and Helton Automotive Howard Helton was the first one to treat me with respect, do a excellent job at a fair price . He is the only mechanic I will ever take my car to again. So ladies if you want respect, a fair price and excellent service take your vehicle to Howard and his team because you will definitely be Happy you did !!! I would give them 10 stars but Google only has up to 5 stars

Can not say enough good things about this guy, he was super friendly, only did what I asked and didn't suggest anything I didn't need. I felt like I was in good hands and could trust him. Very helpful and 10/10 I'll come here for future repairs.

Very disappointed. I paid over thousand dollars. Light came back on. He won't warranty the job. Took to a different shop they said the repair was shotty and done improperly now I have to pay to fix car a 2nd time. Don't recommend.Edit: It was done by Howard and I spoke with him a few times.But I got a 2nd shop to PROPERLY fix my car. They warranted the work and suggested I NEVER go back there cause they took my money and gave me more issues with shoddy work.Service: Engine repair

I visited Howard at Helton Automotive for the first time in July 2019, based on a friend s recommendation. Had to have new rear brakes and an oil change. Repairs and service were made promptly and efficiently. His prices were fair and reasonable. I expect to become a faithful and loyal customer. Totally trust Howard and his team!

I had a very positive experience at Helton, he quoted me a price for alternator and for labor. He gave me the most expensive quote so that there would be no shock if it came to that, and when it came time to make payment there was no surprise charges. He did quick efficient work and kept me in the loop the entire time. My check engine light had come on and he also diagnosed that and gave me a quote for parts and labor while he had my Jeep and just included that in his diagnostic charge. Definitely going back for any future errors.

They took very good care of my Honda Pilot. I had a AC compressor replaced and they were quick and efficient. Also they were kind to call me back once they were done and showed me the old part. I would highly recommend them.

I went there thinking I knew what was wrong with my vechicle, I was totally wrong and they were honest with me and fixed what was actually wrong and it was minor and a whole lot cheaper to fix. I would recommend this wonderful people to everyone. If you want an honest mechanic and your job done right DIFFENTLY pay them a visit.

Helton Automotive is the only shop i take my cars to. Affordable and honest. He wont sugar coat anything. Tells you like it is, even if its not what you want to hear. He cares about whats in your best interest.... not his. I recommend Helton Automotive. :)

My daughter got a flat driving through Stanley, NC and met Josh Helton of Helton Auto Body at a gas station. Josh went back to his shop and picked up a wheel and tire which matched the size of the run flat tire which was destroyed. He just loaned it to her not even knowing her at all and wouldn't even take money for helping her.She was able to get back on the road to our home in Banner Elk. We ordered a new tire 10 days later at Summey Tire in Stanley, NC and Josh met her there with her wheel so the new tire could be installed and she returned the wheel which Josh graciously provided to a total stranger!Thank you Helton Automotive!

Went in for new brake pads, and his workers cross threaded almost all of my lug nuts while completely stripped one of my lugs, then tried to tell me that it was like this before bringing my car in. When I explained that the lugs and lug nuts were perfectly fine the week before when I had the wheels off, he tried telling me that they wear out with old age...
