After talking with a competitor of this business about getting a simple fluid and filter change and it would take them 5 days of keeping my car I called Deans Transmission on Skibo Road on a recommendation from Butch s Performance. They told me to bring it down and they would be able to get it in and done that day.Picked up the car that afternoon and I must say that this car never shifted any better. Great job at a reasonable price.Did I mention the pleasure that was to interact with the people that work there. Mister Rodney at the front desk and Mister Phillip were both very professional and a pleasure to do business with. We now have a transmission and clutch service center that we will be returning to if we have any trouble in the future as well as our routine maintenance.Service: Transmission

Dropped off a loose transmission at the beginning of the year told me that the rebuild would cost $750 and it would take them 2 weeks I paid $665 upfront and 2 weeks later they hadn't even started on it this stretched out to 7 months they finally got it done and when it came time to pay he told me it was going to be $800 and claimed that it was always going to be $1,600 even though I have the old receipt and the old receipt shows the full price being 750 I only owed $84.93 but he kept demanding that I pay $800

Took a 65 Mustang to these guys and they exceeded my expectations. I was told about their work through a very respected custom car builder here in Fayetteville so their reputation with other mechanics is outstanding! Other places would not touch an older car but these guys not only fixed the transmission but also took the time to fix a few other problems I introduced when replacing the engine; they did this because they thought it needed to be done at no extra charge. Once the work was complete, their followup and customer service was also outstanding. I cant get a strong enough recommendation to these guys. Great mechanics and even greater people.Dave

I was very Happy with the service I received for my Transmission turn up. The Gasket, Fluid and Filter plus labor was very affordable. Deans Transmission on Skybo Rd Fayetteville North Carolina has been in the same business for over 25 years in the same location. Deans Transmission was highly recommended by my trusted mechanic. Aswell as others that I have known for years. They took my car in at 8:30 am I picking it up before 3:30pm . My car has over 190,000 miles and it shifts better than it has in a very long time. My other car is due . Well you know that I will be RETURNING TO DEANS TRANSMISSION for my Transmission Turn up on it. Custermer service is Supreme thanks for every thing Mr Rodney and Mr Phillip.

Worst mechanic EVER!!!! Went in with my check engine light on my vehicle. When he finally put the machine on it and got a code for it, he didn't know what the code meant so I looked it up on my cell phone and told him what the code stood for and he said "oh okay that's what it is." Said it would be 740.00 and I'll be good to go. I got the money together and brought it back in. I dropped it off and caught a ride to my job that night and the following morning I called the shop to check the status of my truck. They said it was being worked on and they'd call me back. Which Dean, the owner, did and said it was running good, cone pick it up. After I got off work went to pick it up and he said I was good to go. I left out after paying the 740.00 fee. I took the long way home to make it wouldn't act up like before. And it did run good at first, but when I got half way home, the engine started doing the same thing as it did before I took it in. I turned around and went back to the shop. When Dean saw me, he asked what was going on? I explained it was doing the same as before. Her took my keys and rode it around. When he got back to the shop he said that he now knew what I was talking about with it riding rough. I asked him where do we go from here? His response was that I needed to come up with 1500.00 more to rebuild the transmission. I responded by saying what about the 740.00 I just gave you? He said that we took a shot and that wasn't it so now he'd have to rebuild it. I just looked at him with wonderment. He offended to have me bring him 300.00 more and that he would allow me to pay 100.00 a month til it was paid off.Why would I give this so call mechanic more money when you could not fix it the first time? How much trust can you have in a mechanic who doesn't even know what certain codes mean on a machine to check the one thing that you said in the name of your business that you do?I would avoid this shop at all costs.

I have had 2 transmission rebuilds with Dean's in 2 different vehicles (one classic car and the other an F150). I was happy because of the military discount and walked away feeling like I got an excellent deal. I have since PCSed and both transmissions have gone out. Could not recommend them more highly! Experts at there job.. Rodney was a pleasure to talk to and to do business with.. Best turn around on a transmission job I ve ever had.. thanks guys for your hard work! I brought my car here due to transmission issues. They looked at it and told me honestly that they were not comfortable with rebuilding that particular transmission. They offered to put a new trans in but I chose to take it to another shop for the rebuilding. They received 4 stars because of their honesty! They could easily have took me for an entire new transmission but decided to let me make that decision. It's a family type place and if you are looking to support your local shops then I recommend this place. Thanks

The manager (Mr. Rodney) is the father of the builder mechanic (Philip)..... they all go by first names. Should have been a flag. Very unprofessional staff. Had the occasion to take my 2004 Van to these people because my transmission was not working properly. We discussed my options..... since I am military retired they promised me a 10% discount on any bill that I would recieve from them. Never got my discount.. This company will not honor their labor warranty. All they want is your money. Never attempted to work with me to determine the cause of my transmission problems. Their diagnostic equipment is outdated. The transmission that Deans installed never worked. I would never use them again.

Rebuilt my transmission twice within 30 days just before my retirement and move to out of state. Transmission went out again 30 days after my move requiring a new one. Saw where Dean's Transmission performed certain modifications insuring a "bandaid" fix instead of a repair. When prompted for some kind of compensation, they virtually snorted at the request. When I said I would report this to the BBB, I was told they weren't concerned. I did report this to the BBB and now just want to warn any other potential clients, especially our low income military personnel, to beware of obsolete and temporary fixes which will result in the waste of more money and time, to check out their competitors first.

Brought them the transmission out of my Jeep Cherokee along with a Raybestos parts kit. Took them a week to get it back to me, and after the install the 1st to 2nd shift was happening at 4000 rpms. Contacted them about taking a look at it only to find out that they had subbed the work out to another shop that they would not name, and didn't know what to do. I removed the transmission pan to look for anything obvious and the 2 bolts that hold the clutch basket had either fallen out or were sticking out half an inch indicating that they had not been tightened. I don't know who did the actual work on my transmission, but I will never take anything back to them again. I ended up replacing the unit with a used transmission. Not happy....

Paid 1500 to fix my transmission broke down again in only a few days I took it back to them and they told me to take it to another shop cause they couldn t fix it! Within only a few min of driving it the next day my car starting smoking so I hurried to pull over and my whole front of my car was in flames I had to call 911!!! Beware of this place I could of lost my life!!!

This is the 3rd different time i have called this place for 3 different vehicle over a 5 year period and Will be my last. How are you are transmission shop and NOT work on clutches, an older trans and a Newer vehicle! if you are picking and choosing your work it shows you are inexperiened at your job!! maube you should change the name to Deans Transmission service wantabees. because thats the describtion you deserve

We were told our transmission would be as good as new. Instead we have had nothing but trouble with the transmission. Would not recommend Deans Transmission to anyone.

The only thing said to me was: you'll have to take it to the dealership. However I had been waiting for him for 3days. I was told he could do transmission
