My wife and I worked with Thomas and the BRAV team to convert our new van, and we are extremely pleased. Despite most of the work occurring during the pandemic related supply chain issues, we were able to get most of the parts in a reasonable time. I had specific features and products in mind for the build and worked closely with Thomas to design our custom RV. Thomas' expertise in the multiple systems and the fact that BRAV is authorized reseller of the components goes a long way towards piece of mind. The cabinetry work and attention to detail gave us a few pleasant ah-ha moments while traveling too. We just returned from the rv's maiden voyage for come climbing and mountain biking in the Black Hills of South Dakota and could not be happier with setup of our awesome rig. Thank you BRAV!!

Highest recommendation. Thomas is a craftsman when it comes to building out Class B RVs. I brought him a lightly built out 2022 Sprinter and we talked about the things I wanted done - raise the bed for more storage room underneath, hot water heater for shower off the back, mule bags for storage, movable lagun table, swivels added to the bucket seats, over the driver area storage, yeti goal zero battery charged off the alternator, built a housing for storage and fridge, puck lights on a dimmer. He and his crew did "Class A" work. I am very, very pleased to have the RV customized to my needs. Thank you!

I am quite pleased with the RV build out of my 2017 Dodge ProMaster 1500 high top. Thomas and his crew did a top notch job of turning my design into reality. I especially appreciate the back and forth on some elements in my design...those situations where what I envisioned worked well in my mind but were impractical in the actual vehicle. I wanted a City RV, on the 136 wheel base ProMaster, that is easily parked on City streets and with as much storage as possible. I got what I wanted. In the pix, the only element not done by BlueRidge was the bed arrangement. I was not sure what my needs would be so I had Thomas skip that...then experimented after delivery to get a feel what would work for me..and I came up with a two part murphy bed arrangement..... allows me to load up a couple sheets of drywall and 2x4's. ..a multi-purpose RV!.Of course my work pales in comparison to the quality of what BlueRidge does. They take great pains to hide screws, using solid finished birch plywood . You will not find anycheap, thin laminated particle board. Plenty of options available from solar roof panels to gasoline powered heating systems....good job guys....

Great place to work with. Thomas and his crew are very knowledgeable about all the latest in building your custom van. We were initially making a purchase for an accessory but, changed before hand and BRAV was great in making changes and accommodating my needs for some other items. Great communication, workmanship, and he has a great team to work with. Still adding items to my van as time allows with these guys! Highly recommended

Thomas and his crew installed a solar panel and connected our dometic fridge for us. We can't save enough about how happy we are with the installation, the price charged and that Thomas worked with us to place the fridge in the truck instead of the camper. We would highly recommend Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles. Thanks so much Thomas

BRAV completed our build at the end of May 2019 - it was a complete job that was customized to exactly what we were looking for (storage of SUP boards inside the van). Thomas worked with us and came up with a creative and innovative design that met our needs. We have had the van a little more that 2.5 months and have taken it on about 10 weekend excursions, the furthest driving from NC to Michigan. The quality of the materials and the craftsmanship are second to none - we are completely satisfied with all aspects of the work and would highly recommend Thomas and his team. This van has exceeded our expectations and we had extremely high hopes going in.

We are retired Boomer campers, coming in a little late to the game, and Thomas has been a great support to us. He is courteous, professional and knowledgeable about the products he installs and thorough when servicing a vehicle. The materials he uses are quality from the start. Thomas was timely ordering parts for our Sprinter, getting us on the schedule, and servicing it. We are confident that when there is a need he will help us and that all clients will receive the same quality service.Above and beyond! Thank you, Thomas.

Thomas helped me out by ordering a Fiamma awning for my promaster build. My purchase probably wasn't really worth his time compared to the big ticket builds BRAV does but I was grateful for his time and willingness to even help the personal builders. If you have components for your personal buildout, I'd definitely recommend going to Thomas and the folks at BRAV. They'll hook you up!

From the owner of Squatch What can I say, working with Thomas and the crew at BRAV was a great experience. How do I qualify that assessment? Well, I have held off writing a review until I had a chance to really use my van it is been about a year since final delivery and since then I have accumulated about 30 nights of camping and numerous day trips. To start, if you want a have a custom van built, it should be a process you really enjoy. I am an ultra-runner and the primary purpose of my van is to be a (overnight) base camp on the weekends at the trailheads. Knowing how you want to use, really then sets the stage for what features you want. From my internet research, I saw the kits, DIY builds, etc. and I also came across the BRAV website. From this research I made a list of wants, must-haves, nice-to-haves, etc. and when I was running a race that took me by the BRAV shop, I asked to visit to see their work and craftsmanship first hand based on that visit I chose to work with BRAV. While doing this research, I was doing the same for choosing a van. This is when I purchased my van! I managed to secure an Enterprise rental with low miles and 2 years of warranty that needed no tear out. Sorry, but I am a Ford guy and by keeping the vehicle cost reasonable, I was able to invest more on the customization.Once I purchased the van, I engaged BRAV again. Sent Thomas my wish list and layout/design ideas from features of previous builds on his site. It was a great collaborative process. To be honest, I did not get everything on my list, but working with Thomas, he gave me insight of the pros & cons of my requests and the resulting design incorporates well over 90% of my wants and we eliminated features that would have little utility and great cost creating a straight forward sleek and simple design and budget for the project. Thomas worked with me to split the build into two sessions this way I could manage my personal finances optimally. Through out the whole process, I only did 2 change orders one at my request and a second at Thomas s suggestion, but it has really enhanced my enjoyment of the van. BRAV built and delivered on their estimated budget. So, how do I attest to BRAV s design, quality and workmanship? A year in with some extensive use I can say I have had no real problems and only one associated with the build first extended camping trip, I realized there was a loose wire in one of my shore power plugs. Issue was intermittent and I can see once discovered how it was missed because it took me a few times to spot that the wire was loose. That s it the only issue I have found in the whole build and it only required a few twists of screwdriver to put it right. I wanted the van easy to clean as I can get pretty wet and muddy on my runs a quick sweep or vacuum once in a while and quick wipe down is all it takes to clean the inside. Squeaks or rattles when driving down the road? Only one I ever had was due to what I was storing on a shelf. Any changes/modifications I have done myself? Just one: drilling a small hole in back of cabinet to pass a cord.If you like what you see on the BRAV site and can articulate it to Thomas, you cannot go wrong working with these guys. I get numerous requests to look in Squatch and complimented by all those who look. I couldn t be happier with the results and just hope BRAV is still building vans when I am ready for my next, which will be many years in the future.

I haven t had them do a build for me yet, but I went there and saw their work. They are highly skilled craftsmen! I was very impressed with the conversions they created and Thomas was generous with me with his time and was helpful to me with ideas for improvements to my own van. Thank you again Thomas!

Thomas ordered parts and did repairs to the vent fan on my camper. He ordered the parts quickly and was able to work me in for repairs the day after the parts arrived. His work is first rate, and he even re-caulked the seals for me, while he had the fan apart. He is professional, courteous and very knowledgeable about camper van builds.

The guys at Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles are amazing. Thomas and his crew do terrific work! They truly take the time to fully understand the client s needs, before beginning the design process. They did a tremendous job on our 144 Sprinter build. It is exactly what we needed with our family of 7. With our build now complete, I feel as though we are more than just s client, I consider us friends! It is a great feeling to stop by the shop, and be welcomed by the entire crew.Being the owner of a business myself, I understand the value of meeting the needs of the client. The guys at BRAV have that same understanding. I am happy to say, that just this week, I took one of my sons and introduced him to Thomas and his team. My son and I are both super excited to be starting another Sprinter build with the BRAV crew!Where will your Adventure take you? BRAV can help make it epic!!Jeremey

I received excellent service and work at BRAV. Thomas took the time to review all of his work with me so that I would have a complete understanding of my electrical system and windows. The work was excellent and everything about Thomas' service was handled with integrity and honesty.

I am a retired teacher, new to camping. I purchased a Metric cargo van and we just completed the build out. I was very specific with my design - all green materials, simple, easy to use. Thomas listened carefully and provided creative solutions to my requests throughout the process. His attitude was always generous and professional throughout our work together. He is an excellent communicator and responded timely to all of my requests. This was a big financial and time commitment and the final build out exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship is elegant and I feel confident moving into this new phase of my camping life. I enthusiastically recommend BRAV for your own van conversion dreams.Liz Rose, Ph.D.

Quality Business!Last summer our family road tripped from our home in California to Western North Carolina. En route, the transmission of our Toyota Sienna died 200 miles outside Las Vegas, Nevada. We were stranded, road-side, no cell service, in 108 degree weather, with our 6-month old baby on board. One thing led to another and we made it to the metropolis of Vegas (whew). We did not expect to purchase our dream vehicle (and home away from home), yet 3 days later we found ourselves continuing our journey east in a Mercedes Sprinter Van.The rest of our journey was uneventful in comparison, yet we found ourselves smiling in a daze and in a bit of disbelief that we had purchased this machine and future dream camper/home.My wife and I (and 6 month old baby) had planned to spend the summer with her family in Fairview, North Carolina - just outside of Asheville. We were planning to spend time with family and help run Hickory Nut Gap Farm Camp. The purchase of the van was exciting, however I felt a bit overwhelmed by the project of converting it.That s when I found Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles. I contacted the company and was kindly told there was a waiting list. Nonetheless the owner of the company (Thomas) was willing to offer me advice and invited me to his workshop. Thomas went above and beyond by showing me his current projects and walked me through some of the more technical aspects of converting our van including: insulation, solar, plumbing, heating/cooling, kitchen layout, cupboards and sleeping configurations. I would highly recommend BRAV to anyone looking to outfit their vehicle. Thomas is not only dedicated to his customers, he is honest, hardworking and committed to quality.

Drove 5 hours, shy of 300 miles to These guys..... And will do it again happily, when it's time to do the next upgrade to my promaster. Professional from the start, Thomas is thorough and organized making sure everything is right from start to finish. Even drove me to the local coffee shop for me to wait so I didn't have to sit at the shop. I normally don't do reviews, very few, but not often I leave a business that touches my vehicle that I'm happy with. Thanks guys very much for the quality work.

They helped me with my custom build on my Promaster. They completed the items I did not want do myself. Such as an additional window, heating, and a passenger seat. Very professional, great service and communications from Thomas during the process. The work was completed in September 2018.

A little over a year ago Thomas of Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles put a solar system, sink, and some cabinetry in my van. I am Super happy with his work....I have driven across country, camped out at the ski slopes, camped and kayaked at the beach, urban camped in the city and had several other off grid adventures. Over a year later everything is working beautifully. Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles is my recommendation for creating the ideal custom van life experience. Love the Van Life!

The guys did a complete custom job turning my empty Dodge Promaster 1500 into a camper. The layout was very well thought out and the work was top notch! The result was very professional including a three panel solar system and integrated heater that runs off the van s gasoline system. Looks great & camps great. Would definitely recommend this company.

Thomas remodeled the bathroom on our 19 foot Keystone camper trailer last month and did a terrific job. Moved the medicine cabinet, installed a new mirror and overhead light, new countertop for the sink and some assorted repairs to other parts of the interior. He came highly recommended by friends and certainly did everything we asked with real flair, on time and under budget.

Blue Ridge Adventure Vehicles built out a Ram Promaster cargo van to our specs. We love it. The build quality is much better and more practical than our previous camper, a Roadtrek 190 Versatile. We chose BRAV after studying and comparing costs and processes from other build-to-order campers as well as the standard class B companies such as Roadtrek, Winnebago, and PleasureWay. We feel our van is superior to those for our uses. Having a design built to fit our specific uses is great. The woodwork is beautiful and solid. The soundproofing is exceptional. We can carry grandkids or remove the extra seats and have more space. It is much simpler and easier to operate and care for than a typical class B camper, yet has all the amenities we wanted. BRAV owner Thomas Coffee was attentive and helpful during his build out and has also helped to follow-through on the few problems that needed to be corrected long distance after we took possession--quite a feat, given that we live in the upper Midwest and BRAV is in North Carolina. He is honest and thoughtful and a good craftsman. We would happily recommend a BRAV build-out to others. In 7 months our camper has already seen 13,000 miles and served us in three national parks and many state and county campgrounds. We can hardly wait for our next adventure!

We are DIYers and have coordinated 2 builds with MDL, 1 MB Sprinter and now a ProMaster. MDL has worked with us on the design, partial build, and vendor recommendations for needed products. Everyone we have dealt with over the last 4 years has been professional, courteous, helpful, and responsive to any and all questions. We totally recommend them to anyone looking for their own adventure vehicle!
