We ve been going to Outfitters in Elkin NC for years to get our cars serviced.I always feel like they re being honest and straightforward when giving their opinion as to what needs to be fixed. I ve also always been happy with their work.I even bought an old pick up from them once, and they stood by me and supported me after the sale.They ve got a nice little waiting area with a TV and snacks. And if you don t feel like sitting around, you could take a walk up Bridge Street and enjoy that.

Went to get new back tires, they smoked in our van and we have 2 toddlers. When we mentioned it to them, they said well, you can go somewhere else to get your tires if you don t like it

Went to go get an alignment done on the front end of my car paid $74.80 some cents waited 2 hours to get my car done got it done went to take my car to go get my tires balanced and rotated and the people there that I took it to told me that outfitters had messed up my alignment and it was off by inch and a quarter so I notified them and they told me that they would do another alignment for me for free went back the second time waited two and a half hours to get my car back and they stilldid not fix itrightit was a inch and a half offwithmy toe end way to far out so needless to say i would not recommend this place as far as the mechanic part..

These guys are the best. I had a mishap in I-77 Sunday afternoon and I was 600 miles from home. I had a drive ability issue that made it unsafe to drive. With the help of the friendly staff at the Fairfield Inn, I was directed to Outfitters. First thing Monday they saw my car, diagnosed the problem, found necessary parts and completed the repair in hours and I was back on road. These guys are good, fair and honest - thanks again.. 2016 blue Hyundai.

These guys are a squared-away bunch. Nothing but straight answers and no BS. We were traveling through, had tire problems and they got us back on the road asap, AND at the best price of the 3 shops I called. It impressed me that they didn t add any shop fees , which pretty much all other shops charge. As a retired auto repair shop owner myself, I highly recommend Outfitters Discount Tire Shop.

I was really liking these guys and feeling trusting of them took my vehicles there a few times. But the last visit did me in. I was told something that was completely not true because I went for second opinion where I was taken outside to the garage where they pointed exactly what was wrong. I am heartbroken they would do that to me but being a woman I believe is why they did that. I had the work done for half the price I was quoted at my new garage. So sad to be treated that way because of gender.

Highly recommend! We made the trip from NY to NC for the week, and on our return trip back home, our car died on the highway. It was a busy day so towing took a little while, but once we got the car to this place, it was a breeze! They replaced the alternator and we were good to go in less than 2 hours. Very friendly staff and clean space. Very good pricing as well! Thank you so much again!

I asked my friend Bill when I first moved here to Elkin to help me try to find a reasonable auto repair shop, he asked his Facebook friends that recommended Outfitters. I cannot say enough good things about these people! They are not only professional and reasonably priced, they care!

We got a flat tire on our way from WV to SC during Christmas travel. These guys had the tire size we needed in stock and quickly got us back on the road. Fair prices, too. They went above and beyond with great service. Thank you!

Took my Outback in for an Full Service oil change and tire rotation a few weeks ago. Had purchased a new back passenger side tire about 2 months prior from another establishment due to a large hole. When I was putting air in my tires a few days after the oil change at Outfitters, I noticed the new tire is in the exact same spot as it was before the tire rotation I paid for. They never attempted to rotate my tires but did in fact, charge me for it.I probably never would have known if it wasn t for my recent tire replacement. If it happened to me, I may not be the only one. Just be careful and mark your tires before if you re trying to get a rotation. Unfortunately, I won t be bringing either of my vehicles back to Outfitters in the future for any service.

Driving south on I-77 through North Carolina, we lost power steering and shortly after that charging and water pump as the serpentine belt came off. Fortunately we were near the Elkin exit and managed to limp to a hotel near the exit. Based on a recommendation from the hotel, I called Outfitters the next morning. We discussed the parts that would likely need to be replaced. Unfortunately, they weren t available in town, but could be sourced that afternoon. I was given an estimate of costs and the time that the car should be ready. Neither of those was accurate. They weren t accurate because they started the repair before the parts arrived and then decided that they didn t need to replace all the parts in the estimate and could do the job more quickly than expected. Final cost was a third of the estimate and we left three hours earlier than anticipated. If you break down this is the place to do it. Great people and a great city.

My tire was flat after hitting a pothole and then my spare was also flat. They filled up my spare so I could bring my car in and they quoted me for 2 new tires to balance the front. They also let me take the rubber tire from my good one so I could make a full spare later. The price was what they said it would be and were honest about the integrity of my rim. Kind gentleman and a quick turnaround. Highly recommended.

Always had time to help, but unless it's in relation to getting an inspection sticker or a change of tires then you should probably go somewhere else, to a seasoned mechanic. I've took my car here several times and always had to invest a lot of money trying to find the real issue of what's going on with it. In 2012 I had them put a transmission in for me and just recently I had transmission problems out of that transmission. I took it to another mechanic who couldn't find any of the bolts in my transmission at first and when they pulled my transmission out they found broken bolts in the holes where the bolts weren't installed in my transmission properly. The flywheel had to be replaced and that was probably due to the bolts not being properly locked in place causing a lot of vibration. Because of that I'm probably going to have to end up replacing a perfectly good transmission that had under 50,000 miles on it and I've barely even driven it since 2012 so I would not recommend them for mechanic work at all. I have another friend who's also went there multiple times for transmission issues. I do not recommend them for transmissions specifically. I also took my car there for a death wobble I specifically told them I didn't think it had anything to do with the wheels or axles yet those were the parts they kept wanting to replace. I had to take it somewhere else to discover it was the stabilizer bars. On top of all that, they told me their work was warranted so when I discovered what was won't with my transmission i called them and they denied any accountability at all. This is not honest or fair business.

These guy's are amazing. We were broke down 2 1/2 hours from home and they got us back on the road quickly and very fairly priced. Would make the drive to give them business again!

After calling 4 places before this one - They gave me the cheapest quote, the quickest turn around time estimate & were the ONLY place to mention there was a rebate on the tires all prior places had quoted me! They got me in quickly the next morning & got me out quickly! PLUS when paying I was informed of the FREE tire repairs and tire rotations!! I will be back for sure!! The gentleman who answered (Daryl?) was very upfront & even talked about not needing to do extra work that others just sell as a recommended item vs a needed item!! I appreciate all they did for my family!

I was in from out of town visiting family. Our vehicle encountered some problems during our trip. I took it there to be inspected and serviced. Good crew, great parts and labor pricing. But, I also take care of our vehicles.Thank you guys for the great service.

I ordered tires on Thursday and they made an appointment for me to bring my vehicle in the next day. Brought the vehicle in and they had forgotten to order the tires. You would think that a tire place would be the best people at ordering tires.* Edited August 16th*. I know You don t understand. I didn t request next-day-tires , but was offered next day tires by your lone employee. The appointment was made, but when we showed up the next day, we were informed that he had forgotten to order the tires because he was by himself. Thanks for your speedy response

Nice people and nice selection of aftermarket rims. Just to over priced for me. Monroe Struts quoted $250.00 ea + labor. Rockauto has them for $100 ea... Wasn't willing to work with the part price so no go. Even though a little pricey, they do quality work from what I've seen.

Charged me 220$ for a 20$ part..plus another 150 for a part that WAS NOT replaced. Car still has SAME problem. They DO NOT stand behind there work. I do not see how they are still in business. In my personal opinion I feel it was a criminal act towards me I feel I was robbed and lied to. I had to take my car to a REAL mechanic. I DO NOT RECOMMEND taking your vehicle here if you want it fixed and your bank account not wiped out. Would give 0 stars if possible. $400 later and my car still not fixed. Yes I'm a single mother of three children. People get it together or shut your doors please

The staff is very polite and they know what they are doing. I went with an appointment and they were fast. I also returned as a walk-in and I didn't have to wait long at all. Thank you. From us lifted Cadillac!
