I ve left a positive review in the past. Well, I certainly didn t have a positive experience this time. Mrs. JR is one of the rudest people I have ever met. They had my car for two weeks. They quoted me $8,500 to replace my transmission. I asked them why it was so much. Mrs. JR said, that s the we don t want to do it price. I asked if they fixed the AC, she said, no we don t have the special tool in order to work on it. Finally, I said, did you at least replace the headlights. I had the replacements sitting in the back seat. She said no, we can t do it because your transmission needs to be replaced. I asked her what that had to do with the headlights. She got very aggravated and hung up. In my opinion, this shop is lazy. They only want the quick jobs and to mark up parts. To top it all off, when I went to get my car, there were greasy handprints all over the driver side door.

Stop by here when I was on vacation to get my car repaired I drop it off they had it for two days and I need it to get home so I went to see if it was ready and when I got there they were so rude and disrespectful to me and wanted to charge me way more then it should've coasted for the repairs.them not knowing I was a mechanic I told them I think your way off with the prices for what needs to be done they had gotten really rude and disrespectful to me so I told them I was a tech and they proceeded to tell me well why are we fixing it then and said well this is the price for it when we really don't want to fix something. So I would definitely not recommend taking your car here couse they like to rip people off....

They were racist and extremely rude! My wife went there to try to get her thermostat fixed and the lady at the front desk started arguing with her over nothing, my wife then tried to talk to the mechanic about was going on and before she could finish her sentence he cut her off and said "we don't need your business, we're overwhelmed anyway" I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone on earth

Was quoted a price for tire air leak plug of $25 by Juan who answered their phone.All that was required was a simple fix of plug for small screw hole, which would not even have to take off wheel off to plug hole.However, when I went to pickup car was told by Owner repair cost would be $40 .When I told Owner that Juan who answered their phone quoted $25 for tire plug, Owner said if you want car back it will cost you $40. Also, they never called to let me know car was ready.I would give them zero stars but one star was the lowest available.

While visiting from out of state heard I some squeaking from our brakes. Stopped in wanting to make an appointment and they took us immediately he took the car for a test drive, then put the car on the lift.GOOD NEWS we didn't need brakes. You don't find too many shops anymore that are this honest. Being from out of state we didn't know where to go. After he looked at the vehicle I asked how much do I owe he replied nothing , enjoy your visit. Thank you!

I had broken down on my way to Virginia Beach and had my car towed to JR Automotive. When I called they said they were quite busy but would work us in. When we arrived the receptionist said they were just starting lunch and we may need to wait a while. A gentleman did up and said he would take a look to get an idea of what the issue was before going to lunch. He spent about 30 minutes of his lunch diagnosinag and repairing the problem. He then told me there was no charge and glad he could help. I could not recommend an automotive service center any higher. It turns out the gentleman who helped was the owner.

This is the worst shop I've ever been to in my life. I called this morning to get a quote and the staff was so nasty about not giving quotes over the phone. I let it slide and told her I'd be in. I went there and asa I told her I called about the thermostat issue she was so unprofessional. She was huffing and puffing sucking her teeth having a horrible tone in her voice saying we're swamped and normally don't do that type of work! I asked her if there was a problem and why did she had such an attitude? She replies...YOU DONT HAVE TO COME HERE! I said you're right I don't. Then she says...WELL BYE! I went to let another worker know what happened but he brushed it off no apology at all. They are so racists! I'll never go there again!

The woman that answers the phone must be a miserable person. She is rude for absolutely no reason. I wonder how much business she has cost this shop?

I took my truck to another shop. They quoted $7,500 to fix the problem . I took it to JR for a second opinion and got it back on the road for a fraction of that price. He does great work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

This place is terrible! They kept my car for two weeks and when I called to check on it they said they didn't want to do the work. They were discourteous and flat out rude! I DO NOT recommend!!!!

Polite and helpful scheduling person. Quick service. I never feel like I m being sold something I don t need. This so called business has had my truck for over a week.. instead of calling and letting us know they didn t want to do the work on it, they literally let my truck sit up here for over a week, having both mine and my moms number, and didn t call to tell us they didn t want to work on it. Which is fine, if your to incompetent to do the work, then I wouldn t want them working on it any way. But I have gone over a week without my only source of transportation when I could of had a multiple number of others working on it. I have lost wages over there sheer laziness, and I could of already had my vehicle back. I believe they should pay to have it towed since they decided to be lazy worthless wanna be mechanics.

Took my car there broke down over weekend on vacation the Wh were very rude and left me seating for days acted like they didn t wanna work on my car there are very racist I never have I ever in my life have been maid to feel this way because of my skin tone

Without a question JR Automotive is the best in town! He has worked on all of my cars for the past 4 years and I would never consider another shop. I have recommended all of my family members to him and they have walked away with the same impression, fair, honest and knows what he's doing. Can't ask for more than that!!

Worst shop in town. Called to have A/C system worked on and get a quote. Lady on the phone said they don t do prices over the phone. Then told her the work I wanted done, (ac evacuate and recharge). She then led to tell me that she didn t think mechanic would be interested because all the money was in selling parts and since I didn t need a compressor he didn t want to do the job. Rude, covetous and crooked are just a few words to describe this business. Avoid at all cost, they only want to overcharge and do lazy automotive work.

Of three shops the highest price. Lady on the phone set the phone down and made some rude comment. Unprofessional staff and high price makes this a two. Only reason we allowed them to do the repairs was the speed of repair, which was great.

I started searching for a good local shop after retiring down to Elizabeth City and after two years found JR. With his Ford background he's what just what I needed for a gear whine and I was very pleased with his work, shop and most of all he fixed it right for a fraction of some of my estimates. He will definitely be my go to shop from now on!

Rude woman that answered phone quoted me $7000 to replace my engine in a 2012 Elantra with a used engine. She never asked for engine size or vin.

Was having some trouble with my truck and took it into JR. He was able to help me out, quick and painlessly. If I need a mechanic in Elizabeth City, I'm definitely going to be going back to JR.

The best mechanic in E.C! He gets to the point when he talks to you. He calls you back to tell you about the problem, and for being a small shop he does his best to fix your vehicle quickly. And, most most important, he is honest.

Prompt, courteous, and professional. I'm a DIY guy, so I always try to find the best mechanic at a reasonable price, someone who won't constantly up-sell you on routine maintenance, in and out.. JR is the man!
