I had a fantastic car buying experience at Johnson Volvo. Rod Blackwell was super to work with, not pushy at all, and didn t have to go back and forth with manager. I got a fair offer on my trade-in. Everyone I dealt with was great. Awesome customer service. They totally get what customers want when looking for a vehicle. Best car buying experience ever!! Highly highly recommend!

Roderick Blackwell made the car-buying experience easy and extremely pleasant. Outstanding communication and response time; I can t recommend this location enough. Roderick was very thorough and knowledgeable. He listened to what we wanted; answered every question and was able to find the vehicle perfectly suited for my wife s needs. Best of all, it was a low-pressure sales experience. Their facilities are beautiful, the staff excellent and the vehicles are immaculate.

Rod provided amazing customer service to my father and I and made the process of buying my first car so quick and simple! He sent us videos of the car when we first showed interest and before we even made it to the dealership, explained all the costs. We were able to put the car on the rack and get a good look underneath, making the decision to purchase the car even easier. If you re looking to buy a car, Rod is your man! Expect only the best from him and some good conversation.

We had engine problems as we were traveling through the Chapel Hill area on Friday (4/7) morning. We had our car towed to Johnson Volvo. They weren t able to check the car out at that time. We rented a car from a car rental company, so we could finish our trip. We were going to be traveling back through Chapel Hill on Tuesday (4/11), and we hoped to be able to pick up our car at that time. The car was not fixed, and we were told it would be the end of the week before it would be fixed.So what happened? At no time did anyone from Johnson Volvo ever initiate a call to us. We phoned a couple of times on Saturday (4/8) to get a status. They still didn t have a chance to check the car. I suggested they should check the serpentine belt since power steering and A/C shut down at the same time. We phoned on Monday (4/10) and were told it was the serpentine belt. This was after a second mechanic looked at the car. We phoned again on Tuesday (4/11) to find the car still awaiting work. We ended up driving the rental car back home; incurring additional charges since the rental was returned to a different location.If you ve read this far I ll let you know Johnson Volvo returned our car to us on the Saturday (4/15). There was no delivery charge.The worst part of this whole experience was that nobody ever phoned us even though we were told a number of times someone would call us back. That is why we only are giving them 3 stars.Service: Engine repair

First time at Johnson Volvo. Highly recommend their service department. Our 2020 Vovlo XC90 needed new tires and we had trouble finding them on our own. Parts department was extremely helpful and found the tires we needed and scheduled our vehicle in the service department quickly. Our vehicle was in service all day. The service advisor and mechanic kept us abreast of vehicle status, etc. Everyone was knowledgeable, informative, and helpful. No pushy service. We previously have been customers at Volvo of Cary for nearly 10 years but made the switch due to lack of trust and reliability of Volvo of Cary. After our experience at Johnson, they have a new customer for life.Service: Tires

Great place to go and purchase a vehicle. Great Staff and Sales team. I recommend Forrest Harrell.Service is exceptional as well! Parts depth has very nice staff as well!If you are undecided on whether to buy new or certified pre owned.Marcus is very responsible and will make sure your pre owned vehicle is as expected.

Customer service at Volvo has improved tremendously. This was the best experience I ve had at a scheduled service appointment. Everything was properly explained to me and I was given a ride to work while they were working on my car and I was offered to have my car dropped off when when the work wascompleted. Tony at Johnson Volvo Cars Durham took (extremely) good care of us through this entire process. Although none of us really ever want to see our cars go into the service department for major repairs, I can honestly say this was a delightful experience. We knew we were cared for and our best interests were paramount - at every step of the way. Tony and our tech, Mason, were wonderful to work with. Johnson Volvo gave me true 5-star service last week! I was in an accident while visiting in the triangle area from Georgia, and they were able to assess a steering problem first thing on a Monday, get the parts they needed delivered the next morning, and my car repaired the same day so I could safely drive the 300+ miles home. They kept me informed and provided the information I needed for my insurance company. Many thanks to the service advisors who helped me.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Service writer was polite and professional. It was a long wait but it s a fairly nice place to sit and have a complementary drink and snack. We love the brand and would only ever take our car to this dealership. BTW, we arrived early for their first appointment on a Saturday morning. One of the guys let us in. I couldn t believe it. In all my years of taking cars in for service at various dealerships, no one has ever done that. Johnson is a classy place.Service: Auto maintenance

The experience was terrible! The service department told us we needed a new battery when the battery was checked at another shop and it was fine (the battery was only a year old). Also they were going to charge a much higher price than the market price. The service was covered under an extended warranty and they charged $480 more than the warranty covered ($700). Also, the vehicle had a recall that they did not mention or fix.

We are extremely satisfied with Johnson Volvo! We have 2 Volvos that are serviced at this dealership. The service team - especially Paulino - is very customer service-oriented. They always do a great job servicing/repairing our cars. We also tried the new valet service where they pick up your car and drive it in to service for you - and it was a great and very helpful experience. Charlie did the pickup and Rodney did the drop off later the same day of service. Both guys did a wonderful job handling our car. This dealership is also extremely clean and seems well-organized. I ve been bringing my car to this dealer since they open, and from the very first day everyone not just did a fantastic job, but also did it with a smile on their faces. Steven, Paulino, Rachel and Tony are absolutely wonderful, very client oriented and helpful, and sincerely interested in solving any issues that come up with the car, and in a prompt manner. Also, the facilities are in pristine condition, and the waiting area is quiet and enjoyable. Most of all, it s been like this for years now, and I couldn t be happier to have them take care of our car. We love Volvo, but clearly this fantastic team makes the difference. Major repair to replace the evaporator in our XC60. Seems to have fixed the problem. They could have done a better job cleaning the windshield after all the work done behind the dash but that s minor. We have two Volvos and use Johnson Volvo to service both of them. While the service department is unfailingly polite and professional, they do not always do a good job of communicating timelines for work to be finished. Last week I took my V90 in for a scheduled appointment that should have taken a couple of hours. I didn't hear back from them at all that day. I called the next morning and was told that the car was currently being serviced and would be finished in a couple of hours. I didn't hear from them again until evening, and was told that it would be done first thing the next morning. Indeed they did deliver the car to me the next morning around 9. My expectation when any service department is running behind is that they be more candid about when to expect work to be done.Service: Auto maintenance

Johnson Volvo Cars Durham Service Center staff are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. From taking customer call and shuttle drivers up through the service manager. I arrived from out of town with the check engine light on our XC90. They inspected the car and made recommendations, squeezing in between appointments. Gave me the peace of mind to drive on. Great customer service as always! We live 2 hours away, and they never hesitate to drive me a loaner car and take mine back for service. The drivers are always super nice and the service department always stays in constant contact on the status of my vehicle and it s return. Have had great luck here in the past with regular maintenance. No so good in Dec 22. Needed a new key programmed. They kept the car for three days. Never called me with status. I called every day and they said not ready yet. On day four, I just showed up and they said it had been ready for three days. No idea why. Said they were short staffed. There were three people working the service desk?

Called in because a mechanic shop recommended to replace all brake pads and rotors, the latter of which I knew had already been replaced. Talked to Tony who told me to come in so they could assess. Worked with him and Steven to find out that I just needed brake pads and tires. They took the time to show me the brakes and rotors and how the wear wasn t as bad as the other shop had said it was. I was told by my local Volvo approved mechanic that I needed blower motor for heating and air replaced plus resistor for a cost of $2,000+. Volvo of Durham told me on the phone that often it s just the resistor. I took the car in for diagnostic test and that was the case! I was thrilled that it I only cost $600 to fix my car. I will always use them from this time forward for my car!

Steven in the service department is the absolute best. He knows more about my car than I do! Never has there been a time where he uncharged me or pressured me for any unnecessary parts or service! I can always come in for my appointment and get back out the door well within the time quoted. The service my husband and I received at this location in Durham was first class. Ned Clark was exceptional in answering any questions we had and provided quality customer service. If you re in the market of looking to buy a car, I strongly recommend this location and be sure to ask for Ned. I traded my car in, bought a Volvo from him and the transaction was seamless.
