I went to David s to get my car checked out for a light that came on and the same gas issue I ve had for years. He took his time to do a thorough review and caught the gas issue I ve had for years that no other mechanic has been able to find. He explained in clear detail what the issue was, what my options were, and what he personally would do.I felt he was very trustworthy and gave honest and solid advice that helped me make the repair and plan out the next steps. I would highly recommend his services.

I thought David was amazing! I thought the Price was affordable! I thought they Genuinely helped me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GO HERE! I Definitely will not be going back for any other car needs myself. I ve been bothered/irritated/hurt by this business transaction for almost 2 years now! I had my car serviced October 20,2022(today s date is March 2,2024). I needed New Brakes and Drums with an oil change for my 2009 Nissan Sentra. I paid $899.48. A few days after David s Shop serviced my car I noticed a high pitch squill or squeaking sound coming from the left side of my car. I called David, and explained what was going on. In a very condescending tone David mentioned he replaced all the brakes and drums with NEW parts. I explained that I don t doubt that he did, but something is wrong. David advised me to come back up there. I was hurt because I knew I was lied to(based on his tone). I know that David s company took advantage of me and smiled behind my back. From there I began to do my research, and called my father who use to work on cars. My father said there s absolutely no way he put new parts on my car(all the brakes and drums are very RUSTED). After praying to God I decided to not go back in comfort of never dealing with such a deceitful person/business again. David due to your false sense of entitlement to money that is not yours, lack of integrity, and poor workmanship your business will suffer. Obviously you re desperate for money and prey on people with little knowledge regarding your profession (you must have needed the money more than me) . Please use this review as constructive feedback to properly handle and support the customers who chose to allow you to work on their vehicles. Please remember good business receives good business and without the customers it s very likely you wouldn t be in business.P.S. I didn t go back, I didn t ask for a refund. I simply want you to know, if you consider David Automotive for your vehicle needs, you may be walking into a den full of robbers and thieves.

Dave fixed my check engine light and inspected my car. He was very thorough, honest, and professional about it, and very good with communicating whenever concerns came up. David was extremely helpful in resolving an issue I was having with my car. Costs were very clear and straightforward and he didn't try to sell me on anything extra. When I arrived to pick my car up he showed me the piece he replaced and let me see/feel how it was broken compared to what it should be like. It's the best experience I've ever had with a mechanic. David is the best mechanic I've ever had. He's always willing to explain problems as they arise and give me options for approaching them, and never forces into repairs I feel are unnecessary. He's been taking care of my Camry for years and I recommend him to all of my friends. Had three inspections and an emissions problem on my vehicle fixed. David's only ever a phone call away, and he will offer advice even without bringing your vehicle in. When you do, he's quick to explain the problem and help get it solved at a fair price. David is awesome and super knowledgeable! He is the most honest repairman I've ever worked with and is great about letting customers know about issues that may come up in the future without pressing them to fix/ pay immediately. He helped diagnose and solve an engine tick in my car that other mechanics were not able to. New to the area, first time having to get my car inspected to renew my plates. Called up David's cause it was close to my house, David said he could get me right in after my daughter woke up from her nap. I drove up there, he was quick and efficient, took the time to explain everything to me that I needed to do after the inspection. Awesome guy, great service, I'll definitely be back for all my automotive needs. Specially since I'm so close, he said if needed he could always drive me back to my house if I didn't have someone during drop off. So glad I made the call to this place, I'm happy in knowing I have a great mechanic down the road for all my car needs. Don't hesitate and take your car here too!!

I've brought my cars in to David's a few times now and there is no where else I plan on taking them. I've never had a more trustworthy and pleasant experience with a shop before. David is everything you want an automotive repair shop owner to be. Friendly, honest, and reliable. Want a stress free experience - I guarantee you'll feel the same way. Hands down, great place.

David and his team are highly knowledge, personable, and reliable. He's taken great care of my 10+ year old vehicle. I have had about 3 repairs done here over the years and David is always upfront about all options (cheap quick fixes and full replacement costs). Even checks local salvage yards to help me out. I'll be bringing my car here for all future repairs and inspections. Great shop. Glad I found him.

Best auto repair around! I have known David for years. Great advice, really cares for people. You want a mechanic that tells you how it is, as if it was his own car. He does it and more! Very personable and has been in the business awhile.I've had a few problems with my car over the years, an ac for one car he replaced years ago thats still running great. Also fixed a couple of small things and does all of my oil changes. It's so hard to find auto service places that are reputable and consistent with outstanding customer service. Look no further, just go to Davids.

I have a 2005 Prius. I d like to keep it as long as possible. David has been working on it for the 5 years it s been mine. I appreciate the work he does. So far. My car hasn t needed major repairs but I can count on him to complete oil changes, check belts ,tires ,brakes etc. . I trust that he will continue to keep my car up and when it needs major work he will do a great job. OR be honest and tell me that it s not worth it. Not just let m keep spending money! Beyond all that he charges fair prices for services ! He treats everyone with respect . There are no signs or nicknaks in the waiting area that might make anyone feel uncomfortable! That. Means a lot to me. I will continue to take my cars to David for service.Rose

I had a very scary car issue one morning and they were able to get my car in right away. I was a new customer and they treated me like family from the start. They gave me a ride to work even though they didn't have to and ensured I would have my car back by the end of the day if it was the problem they thought it was. Sure enough, I got a call that afternoon that my car had been fixed for a very reasonable price and was ready for pickup. They normally close at 5 but stayed until 5:30 to wait for my husband to pick me up from work and drop me off. My car has been running great ever since and I highly recommend them for their outstanding service!

This was a great experience! They were recommended by their cousin and next door neighbor, Bob's Radiator and Muffler (another great place!). They fixed the oxygen sensor on our Suzuki XL-7 in hopes that it would clear up our catalytic converter code. It did, at great savings! Also, David Jr. was great, he spent a lot of time explaining to me how catalytic converters worked and helped me drive my other car, Honda Civic 2000, so that it's catalytic converter code would pass as well. It also passed inspection, and I was able to deliver it to my son the next day at his new job in New Jersey. Price was also very reasonable.

Normally I don't give reviews. This shop deserves 10 stars & everyone needs to know how awesome they are. I have taken my truck to so many "mechanics" to get it fixed & fixed correctly. Stumbled across these lovely fellas trying to find a muffler shop to fix my flex pipe (Bob's located next to them). As they started to work on it, they found several things wrong with it that others didn't. Yes, a lot of shops will tell you (especially females) that there are things wrong, when it's really not. I could tell these guys are honest. He explained everything in a way that I understood. Also, I know the past issues with the truck & it all made sense. They repaired it in no time. Their prices weren't bad either. Very dependable & knowledgeable! Finally found a shop I can trust... After about 10 years of messing with it! We'll definitely be back with any car issues. But hopefully not too soon :-)

I have searched for a local, trustworthy mechanic since moving here 30 years ago! Now that I have found you, I am a "Customer for Life"! I value the personal attention, workmanship and attention to detail David and his dad provide. They have by far exceeded my expectations! I will never let anyone else touch my cars! I am thankful I finally found your shop!

I have mixed feelings about this location, while it is closer than my usual shop, i did not feel like I got "good customer service" and while they didn't rip me off, they didn't do much to help with the price either.they did manage to get my truck back on the road after I the serpentine belt, and belt tensioner.so I will plan to use my usual shop in Cary even tho I live in Durham atm. this place did not meet the professionalism I am use to dealing with at a repair shop, it gave me the vibe of a shade tree mechanic.overall, they got the job done.

I've been to David's a couple of times and I can't imagine going anywhere else now. Not only do they get to my car quickly and fix it at a great price, but they also explain EXACTLY what they did and how to avoid future problems. Great customer service, amazing pricing, by far my favorite auto shop ever.

This place needs a lesson in customer service. When you have a potential customer in your business needing car repairs it would be a good idea to consider how you are taking to people. I would venture to say that the younger Dave is very rude and had no idea he allowed a good customer to walk out of the door because he chose to be nasty and rude. Do not take your car to this business for repairs.

While in the Durham area I ran into a little car trouble. David Jr was extremely professional and had me in and out in a timely manner. I hate that I am an out of towner and cannot use them for all my automotive services because I sure would!!!! Keep up your great, honest work!

They will fix your car but oh boy the price will be through the roof. Don t go there if you don t have any money because you won t be able to afford it! The prices that I got quoted made me feel like I was about to have a stroke or heart attack! I m still in shock behind the price I had to pay to get my car out of the shop! They are expensive!!!!

STAY AWAY!!! The mechanic Dave Jr. was so very hateful to me. I had called the day prior and asked Dave Sr if they could fix a radiator for me due to a leak. He said bring it by early in the morning around 8am and Dave Jr would be there.DISCLAIMER: I am a licensed Pentecostal minister and make it a point to keep a friendly smile on my face and be kind to everybody.So...I took it there at 8am sharp and pulled up. I informed Dave Jr that I talked to his Dad yesterday and I need them to check out at my radiator leak. Dave Jr. automatically says "You're gonna need a new radiator." ...Before even checking to see if it was a bad hose. Either way, I was cool with it. So I asked him, "Around how much do you think it'll be for a new radiator?" He says, "It's gonna be high! You bought an Infiniti not a Honda! But let me go check!"So while he was checking I found two different radiators from Advanced Auto and Autozone. One for $121 and another one for $169. I eventually went and found him in the office and let him know what I found...Dave Jr tells me, " Well you won't be getting it done here! Look! We don't use any outside parts! WE GOTTA MAKE A LIVING! IT'S GONNA BE $383.JUST FOR THE RADIATOR HERE! Thats not including Labor is gonna be about another $400."I said I'm not trying to give you a hard time. He says, "YES YOU ARE!" YOU'RE CALLING AROUND SEARCHING FOR PARTS!" I said nevermind Sir. He says, "YEAH GET OUTTA HERE!!!"
