My experience with Transporter Werks has been outstanding. I purchased a Westfalia in Arizona and had it shipped directly to their garage in Raleigh. Sean and his crew handled everything from getting the van unloaded from the truck to replacing the motor. They are true VW enthusiasts who know these vehicles and can be trusted to do the job right.

Totally happy to meet the folks at Transporter Werks. I brought in my new/1997 Eurovan and Sean really helped me look her over, learn about her, and step into my role as the proud new owner of this gem. Bringing her back to life and begin my retirement adventures will be a dream come true. Can't say enough good things about my experience. Thanks, Sean!

Transporter Werks and Sean are top notch. They are absolute experts in their domain and clearly share the passion for VWs (especially Vanagons) with their customers. If a quick, cheap job is what you are looking for, this is not the place for you... However, if you have some time and want the job done right, and willing to pay what that costs, you've found the best place you could possibly bring your Vanagon! I drove mine from Raleigh to Alaska and back right after Sean swapped the engine for a Subaru Forester engine and it made the trip with few incidents. The incidents I did encounter, Sean talked me through how to fix myself via telephone on the side of the road. He truly cares and goes above and beyond! Since then, Sean has done a tremendous amount of work to make my Vanagon better than new... And boy is it ever!

Terrible experience and my van is scared for life.If you have an original VW or similar, find another place to take it for repair or do it yourself.I went in to have my tent replaced on my westy, fell for letting Sean repaint the fiberglass top. He to the cleaners on the top, way over the estimated price, said he had to repair a crack in the top. I know the top was not cracked when I dropped if off.When the van was at his shop some how the axle came unbolted, he said I broke an axle and was offering to repair it. Suspicious because when I crawled underneath I found 5 screws backed out and 1 screw holding the axle to wheel assembly.Then he was trying to sell me on a repaint on my body, I politely said no thanks and my van came back with the drivers metal all dinged up.He was also trying to sell me on an engine swap. VWs are easy to wrench on, if you don't want o or can't do it your self there are better shops in town. I did my own swap.If you are a VW enthusiast then you should know how to either do or find the resource to do a better job then this place.

Logging some major miles on my 1997 EuroVan camper during a Cross Country Trip and needed to get my oil changed as well as a general check over. Sean took the time to point out some areas to keep an eye on and I was on my way.

The delivery was delayed two times. I had to call to get updated . The last delivery date they did call me. The two delivery guys were great and handled the delivery with no problems.

I haven't been able to get back to this shop when it was open but from the looks of the Westfalia vans in the parking lot it looks like a really cool place to visit!
