THANK YOU to A-1 Towing & Recovery. I took a friend up to Carova to experience the 4x4 and I had my 3 dogs with me. My issue wasn t about getting stuck it was. My truck had a different day for me, she decided to take a s$hi! And my transmission blew. Hans Sr amd Hans Jr were Johnny on the spot! Kindness, timely, and beyond professional. They went above and beyond. Towed my truck to get fixed and took me and my 3 dogs home!!!If you ever know of anyone who needs help out on the #4x4offroad these are your guys! These guys were awesome! So polite and responsive. I called them after a total flat (loss of bead to rim) they quickly came out. Pulled the tire and remounted. Brought it back and got me going. Could not recommend more 10 stars if I could give it! Thank you Hans for the quick and positive service!

We were vacationing on the 4x4 beach and took a trip into town. While driving off the beach our 4wd quit working. Since it was late in the day and high tide was approaching, we didn't want to attempt the trip back up the beach. Hans Jr and his friend picked us and our German Shepherd up with a vehicle large enough to carry us and our belongings and brought us back to the house. They patiently waited until we packed up, and brought us back down the beach to our truck. We needed to return to the Fayetteville area to have the 4wd problem diagnosed the next day. We can't thank them enough for being great guys and helping us out of a bad situation. Sad to end our vacation early but so thankful there are good people willing to go above and beyond to help you out!

Hans, and A-1 are incredible. We got stuck on the beach driving in and let too much air out of our tires to survive the return trip on main rd. Hans came out with his compressor and made sure we had enough PSI for beach travel and safe road travel to the the free air machine lot. Great communication and service. It s amazing to find an owner and company as courtesy as these guys! Thank you again A-1!Service: Tire change

We were stuck in the sand and Hans was so friendly and told us to take our tires pressure down and was just in his jeep and continued to talk us through how to get out of the sand. Once we were out we thought we were in the clear but he gave us his card just in case, and we had to use it 10 minutes later when we got stuck again and he was beyond helpful hooking us up and letting us borrow what we needed to be towed out of the sand from his personal jeep. He even followed us all the way out, 6 miles down the beach and helped shovel sand whenever we were stuck. Such a wonderful person and great company!Services: Special vehicle towing, Car towing

If you drive off road enough, sooner or later things will break. For us it was a blown CV joint/half shaft. Being just over 6 miles up the beach during a week of bad weather including high winds and high surf made getting the truck out a bit of a challenge. The folks at A-1 Towing were great. Off road recovery is not cheap, but what they charged was very fair considering the conditions. They were friendly, professional, and maintained good communication. The new ownership was a pleasant surprise and come across as honest, hard-working folks. If you need a tow or recovery in the Carova area, I highly recommend them.Service: Special vehicle towing

Hans was so great! We ended up getting mislead from another towing company and called A-1 in a pinch to park my car for the week. He came within 30 minutes of calling him and was so friendly. They are really reasonably priced as well! Thank you!!

While on vacation in Carova Beach my Jeep Commander broke down. After calling around I decided to use A1 Towing to come and tow the vehicle off the beach. I can not say enough positive things about A1. Hans was VERY professional, VERY reasonable, and VERY courteous. He runs a 5 STAR business and would HIGHLY recommend his Services should you ever need them. I can't speak Highly enough of him and his company. GIVE THEM A CALL TODAY. Hans and his son were great. My husband, 3 little kids and I went for a drive in the beach to try and see the horses. The 4 wheel drive decided to stop working and we got stuck. Panicked to say the least because we are from Ohio and had our 4,2, and 1 year old with us. They got to us in less then 15 mins after getting off the phone with them and had us back on the pavement and enjoying our vacation in a total of less than 45 mins. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with them. They turned what we thought was going to be a long miserable day stuck and waiting to be towed into a day that we still got to enjoy at beach! Thanks againService: Car towing

We were heading to our rental in the 4x4 area and they stopped and helped us when we got stuck in high tide as did another couple. They are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. Any issues I have in the Outer Banks, they will be my first call. There are some great people in this world and that includes A1 and that nice couple.Service: Car towing

A-1 was great. We recently purchased a brand new car which needed to be serviced at a dealership because of warranty issues. We re out of town and far from any shop we know. The tow was long and the price was reasonable. Hans was so helpful! We got stuck in the high sand and he helped to get our car unstuck and back on track. Then he lead the way for us for about mile before he turned around and went back just to make sure we were good. I can t recommend A1 Towing more! Very professional and friendly service. Our group lost a phone on a wild horse tour and this gentleman was willing to take us back out as we had no 4wd vehicle to go back out there in the dunes. New the area well and was In and out in no time. Didn t want any money but of course we gave him a great tip.

I became stuck in the sand in the evening. The gentleman was driving his personal car and was on his own personal time before stoping to see if we were ok. In his own car and on his own time he helped us get out of the sand; and gave us some tips for traveling off road. It was like his website said he was about helping us sincerely. I can t thank him enough for stoping and helping us. If he didn t take it upon himself to stop to see if we were ok, we would still be stuck. Here we were, completely packed in the car, all phones,purse and unfortunately our car keys which were in the ignition. Panic set in. Thankfully another company I called was unable to help due to being too far but he gave me Patrick's number.Patrick arrived within 15 on Saturday with tools and a smile ready to unlock my Buick. 10 minutes later, Solved the issue.Thank you Patrick, you are awesome. I made so many calls prior to receiving your number. Having you step into action as quickly as you did really was appreciated.

If I could rate this less than 1 star, I would. The man was very little help in trying to find us. I gave him all the information we had as we were traveling off-road. He refused to take a pin with latitude and longitude or gps locator. He was rude and unhelpful by giving us his location to come find him, which is hard to do when your vehicle is stuck. He was very quick to take the credit card information and did eventually help get our friends get unstuck but I would recommend walking through the sand roads in the dark before calling him.

You cannot write a review without giving a star or I would give 0. A-1 Towing's driver Larry is the most rudest man I have ever met in my 60 years of life and I lived in NYC for the first 34 years. We called A-1 Towing to tow us from the beach on the Outer Banks in North Carolina back to the road. I was charged $250 for the towing service which ended up being him getting the back wheels unstuck. When I inquired about towing us back to asphalt he said for $500 more I ll tow you where you need to go! Since I did not have the money, he disconnected his tow truck, rudely instructed my daughter to follow him to packed sand. Once on packed sand, in the dark, 2-3 feet from the ocean s surf, he told my daughter keep driving straight and if you re not a moron make a right when you see the reflectors!!! I understand that it is not wise to drive a 2-wheel drive vehicle on sand that s why I requested a 4-wheel drive vehicle from a renting company and was inadvertently given a Jeep that did not have 4X4 abilities which is why we got stuck in the first place. I usually only write good reviews because the bad usually reveals itself but, if you get stuck on Beach Road at the end of Route 12 and you need help DO NOT CALL A-1 TOWING AND RECOVERY OF COROLLA!!!

Never in my life have I encountered someone so rude simply because he didn t give me directions to his business. A relative that was already familiar was meeting me and then I follow them to the lot. The same relative I would then be riding with to 4x4 property. He insisted on speaking to me himself. However, upon calling him, he refused to answer until the 10th call and then informed me he closed at 7pm and wouldn t allow me to pay him to park in his lot even though he was aware of my arrival time due to speaking to my relative earlier in the day. 1 star is not low enough for someone so rude, disrespectful, impatient and lacking knowledge of tack in working with the public in what is typically already a stressful situation for the customer. Ours wasn t a tow or recovery but simply a happy parking customer. Unfortunately, after the treatment, we of course were left more than confused at the bizarre treatment leading to frustration.

In these situations when you are on vacation, it s easy for a towing company to take advantage of you. Not in this case! The service was amazing. Professional and most importantly, honest. The owner is the biggest jerk I have ever encountered. Was trying to use his pay parking lot for my sister s car while we were staying in Carova. I own property in Carova and am very familiar with the location of his lot. He got mad because he insisted on calling my sister to give her directions even though I told him repeatedly that she was following me to his lot and I knew exactly where he was. He told me that since I wasn t going to follow his rules we couldn t park her car there. Insane man.

Both Hans and son were so helpful and reasonable with their cost. Very honest, thorough and helpful. They were a lifesaver doe me. I would recommend them to anyone and they re also great guys!

Called them because one of the local home owners said you can rent a parking spot for your 2wd or motorcycle for a weekend at their lot. Called the number and the guy was the rudest jacka$$ iv ever spoken with, said it was an emergency number... which it's not, it's their only business number with no mention of being an emergency number. Hope they learn to talk to people or change ownership. I strongly suggest you go elsewhere for towing or any other services.

Came down to the beach and of course got stuck in the sand. a one towing came out in 5 minutes, pulled us right out and the driver suggested we submit the tow to State Farm Insurance and we were reimbursed all our money!!! we are so thankful that he offered that informatiom.

If I could I would leave ZERO stars! Just simply a terrible human being. He was towing a car and swerved into my car running me off the road! Then proceeded to flick me off. What an unprofessional and irresponsible business owner. You ll never earn my business.

Amazing service! New ownership at the company, really wishing them well after having a great experience getting out of a bad situation (dead battery, stuck in sand) at the beach.
