Stephen and his guys are awesome a very reasonably priced for the amazing quality of work they do not to mention months after the last time I had my car there any questions I have about things I try to do on my own that there simply isn t information online about Stephen answers quickly and decisively truly awesome guys to work with not to mention Stephen sold me his own blower he had pulled off his vette for a great price, Kept me updated throughout the process and Stephen has been very patient with me Bugging him with questions all the time can t praise this shop enough. Take your build to them you won t regret it one bit. There s a reason they re so busy

Dude does immaculate work. Fixed my LS up and his prices are unbeatable. If you have any LS work needing to be done, I'd definitely go here. I was hesitant on driving 3 hours away, but it was definitely worth it.

What a great experience from start to finish. After calling around to what I had thought were professional shops, Stephen blew me out of the water with his professionalism and expertise. I had a ton of questions about the build, and he was very patient in answering with confidence every question. We put a game plan together and set a drop-off date. Fast forward to the drop-off date. We went over the game plan, gave me a tour of the beautiful shop, set a time line for completion, and looked over all parts for the build. SUPER impressed by the team sticking to the time line and exceeding all expectations and preferences. The build was very clean, and pride was taken throughout the process. He was even kind enough to send pictures through out the build and updates along the way!! Would recommend Stephen to anyone and have to so many people at car shows that ask about the build. Thank you Stephen and team, as it's been close to a year with absolutely no hiccups, problems, or check engine lights!!

I took my Corvette here and they did an awesome job. Stephen was responsive, yes he is busy and that's a good sign, but always answered my questions. They did a phenomenal job and the results speak for themselves. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for the great work!

I brought my 2017 V to Stephen and his crew for some performance mods and a tune. After a few weeks, I reached back out to explain with a question. As busy as his crew is, he fit me back in to dial in the tune and the car runs great!He is a true professional and very knowledgeable. Their work is worth the wait and look forward to bringing the V back for some more HP here in the winter.

Highly recommend the guys at SS LSX for your LS/LT needs! They built my car up from stock to its current state. Have put 20k miles on the build so far and have had zero issues! SSLSX is the only shop I trust to do any engine or tuning work to my GTO. The most professional shop I've ever dealt with in the aftermarket community. I trust these guys to the fullest and their prices are fair. I'll continue bringing my vehicles here in the future. Stephen is one the most humble and respectful guys I've ever met in the community. Can t stress the amount of respect I have for this team. They re everything you want in a shop, I promise you that. They go above and beyond and that s why I ll forever do business here don t matter if they are 5 hours away, I m in there.I've had local shops work on my car and they never really surprised me the way that ss lsx did with my Cts-V. Stephen is a great guy to deal with and has great customer service skills.We spoke on the daily, kept me informed on the progress on the car and blew me out of the water the first time I drive the car once it got back from their shop.. its a completely different MONSTER!!Who would have thought that a stock bottom end V will make over 900 rear wheel horsepower. I took my 2017 Cadillac CTSV here because I had wanted a performance camshaft installed. One thing led to another and Stephen set me up for other solid modifications to compliment the new cam package. Although Stephen and his crew are very busy with their customers, they are well worth the wait! Quality service and very knowledgeable on late model GM performance. I love the way the car turned out and it makes me smile every time I drive it. I recommend anyone go get on the list to have their car built and tuned by SS LSX! A+ work! I took my 08 corvette to stephen to have it tuned after the header and exhaust install and he did a great job, never ran this good, so i talked to him about a cam upgrade, He answered all my questons and took all my calls. he never made me fill that i was a brother, i had a stage two cam installed and he replaced my leaking oil cooler lines the i got to replace my leaking ones, he also went above and beyond what he normaly didn't do and went thru my warranty policy that i had on the car to get the harmonic balancer and the labor for the replacement paid for which saved me alot of cash that didn't have to come out of my pocket. car sounds and runs absolutely great. i couldn't be more happy. if i have anything else done to the car it will be back to his shop. thank you stephen for a great job

Coming from a professional drag racer point of view. Semi to some professional to others who builds and tunes independently myself. I think sslx is one of the premier places for any need Ls period. Stephen is young bright and as ambitious as any one man I have ever seen. His knowledge on newer platform supersedes 90% of the above average people. We bounce theory s back and forth I fill absolutely comfortable that he is more than capable of doing any performance application especially with advanced and newer platforms. This older Ls stuff is child s play and this company is staying ahead of the performance evolution! Hats off to you guys at sslx!My z28 is coming for a hog leg soon enough!

If I ever needed late model GM performance work done or evenauto questions, its a simple first and only decision to choose these guys. The owner/owners are straight up guys and I've known them for a long time. They have proven to be top notch and honest, the finished results show their knowledge, and the few customers Iknow will always return for business.

These guys have been building fast and dependable cars for decades. I've been privileged of getting behind the wheel of some of the wildest cars they've dialed in. The power delivery is spot on, and the knowledge/experience they provide is some of the best in the business. Good tunes, scheduling and quality of work and care is bad.So to elaborate, again the tune was decent but it only made 980 on E85 with a maxed out V7 Vortech and supposedly 11.5:1 compression(which I don't believe it is at this point), plenty of people running 1100+ with the same setup with lower compression, we thought it might be the 2.5" exhaust, but I changed it out for a 1 7/8" headers and full 3" exhaust with bullet style mufflers and only picked up 20hp.. awesome.The build was supposed to be a 11.5:1 compression motor with a trans/diff swap, and a aluminum driveshaft install. The car was there for 11months, but I was told it was due to me leaving and that I never had a scheduled spot... whatever. Never received any updates unless I contact him first.On to the 'finished product', a few things I had asked for had been passed up, for example I shipped a $30 piece of rubber molding to go around the torque tube brace to keep vibrations a little down, it wasn't installed and I never got that molding back, cool.The torque tube was rebuilt, but because I didn't micromanage and bug them every couple days about the driveshaft being installed, they just reinstalled the stock one, and that cost me $1,200 to get done at another shop. Not only that but when this other shop did the work they noted that my torque tube bearings and input shaft were shot. I asked Stephen if they had inspected them prior to being installed and he said they were good to go. I don't know if I'm being taken for a fool by either shop but the picture attached was my input shaft, and when we replaced it a good portion of the knocking noise and vibration disappeared. So either I was lied to or they just didn't want to admit they didn't inspect or didn't know if it had been done.Another thing, I was reassured the belt was swapped when I brought it in, but after all the things I'm questioning from the labor that was done I don't think it was because the belt I brought with the car was still in the back of the car when I picked it up and the belt that was on there looked worn to all hell. The only reason this is relevant is they said there was a lot of belt slip.If all these questionable things weren't enough for me to be weary of the shop I was told the catch can was full because it was blowing out oil... well come to find out the can was not routed the way I brought it in and the can wasn't anywhere near full.When I got the car back, it was kindly covered in concrete dust baked on with all the construction that he had been doing to expand the shop, without even a hose down of the car. So yea that was nice too. Also my AC was working when I brought it in but now it doesn't so just more stuff I have to fix.A last note, I personally don't think it was their fault but less than 50 miles on the new motor, a rocker arm shredded itself with less than 100 miles on them with the trunion upgrade.I tell everyone that all the people I meet I like as people, but there are a lot of businesses I wouldn't let touch my car, and just like with Aquadale speed I won't be returning to this shop and won't mention them in a good light. Stephen can tune really well but I'm not so sure about the labor team and honestly of the shop.

Brought my first Vette for a cam/lifter install and my second Vette for a clutch and tune for a TT. Stephen has always been super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind and the cars he's tuned for me still hit hard over 5 years later. Very professional.. from the start my husband had his truck at another shop for months and months and it has one problem after another .. We ended up messaging SSLSX tuning and it was one of the best decisions my husband has made in a very long time like I said they were very professional They were there for my husband when he needed them We came straight in they had us taken care of in less than a week and the price was reasonable I would definitely recommend.

Took my white C7 Base to my local Chevy dealership after bad/mis diagnosis of bad lifter at an incompetent local performance shop. The Chevrolet EMPLOYED service tech suggested that I trailer my car well over 100miles to Stephen for an upgraded cam if I could and avoid all the local shops. I m happy that I did. Over 2,000 smiles since in my daily driver. She s strong and happy to be driven. Hearing nice car is good but hearing sounds like you got something done to it is even better. Thanks Stephen. Better believe this guy is in tune with what he does, and appears that he works super hard. I m happy to tell people who did the work.

If there was a 1000 star option I would, These guys are great! I m located 2 hours away in the Raleigh area and there are plenty of shops around here that work on corvettes such as mayhem and rpm but nobody has great service and do an amazing job like SS LSX does. These guys saved me plenty of time and money to help fix an issue I had with my c6.

2015 Camaro SS I had just bought recently. Contacted Stephen and he gave the option of going with headers and a tune to get the sound I was wanting. A few days before I was supposed to drop it off the car started having a misfire as well. Stephen took complete care of everything and the car feels and runs so much better. I m so thankful and happy with the way these guys do business.

Guys seemed nice, but they don t touch Gen 3 LS stuff so don t bother bringing Ls swaps or older gmt800 trucks

I am probably Stephen's most annoying customer, but he always responds quickly, politely, and professionally. Car has been there a few times for headers, then some tuning, and lastly for an A&A. I've probably sent the man 100 emails and not once did I get an attitude or anything. Car hasn't had any issues, I am super happy with everything, and I refer as many people his way that I can. If you can get into a shop the same day, not a great sign. If it takes months to schedule work, you're probably at the right place and that's what SS LSX is. Thanks again Stephen for putting up with me!

Currently live on east side of the state (4 hours away) and went with Stephen due to hearing about him when we lived out in Concord and not being able to find anyone I trusted out this way. We wanted a cam installed and tuned in our c7, and were torn between a few to pick from. After emailing Stephen back and forth a few times, he set us up with a BTR 225 (stage 2) cam and some Texas Speed longtubes along with AFE cold air intake. 507hp stock heads and intake manifold. Couldn t be happier with the final product sound, power, and driveability wise! They are busy and backed up for scheduling, but when this type of work is being done, that speaks volumes of the quality of work instead of rushing cars in and out of the shop.
