After leaving the dealership with a recommended repair, the cost was mind blowing and they couldn t describe to me the reason why they were charging so much for a repair after I had saw through research that no other owner had paid that for the same repair. I reached out to Christian Brothers and they walked me through step by step of the process to repair which made me feel comfortable. Although an expensive repair I understood why but not as costly as what the dealership had quoted. I have two other cars and will be bringing to them going forward. If they worked on bikes I would bring that too . Bill and Jacob kept me inform during the repair process.Genesis G80

This was our first experience with this mechanic and was very disappointed. We brought on the car due to some issues being experienced. They were unable to give a diagnostic other then " it could be this or maybe this or that". If I wanted to guess I would have done it myself. Then they had the audacity to charge a diagnostic s fee when they could not even give any real diagnostics . What did we pay for? Your best guess ? If you can't pinpoint the issue then you did not do the job. I understand you may not be able to know the issue but you certainly should not charge for this. You gave no service. Please do not trust this company. Who knows how many others are scammed our of their funds. I will be posting this on every site and social media you can be located on. Do better!

This is the best place to bring your vehicle for upkeep and repairs, hands down! We previously had our vehicle sit untouched at another affiliate of the extended warranty company, and after 3 months of nothing, we asked Christian Brothers if they would be willing to handle the project and they quickly did. All of the gentlemen that we worked with were polite, professional, and communicated well to us. We mainly worked with Bill, and he was a pleasure to work with. I know that this car was not an easy project to take on, and the mechanics and staff worked tirelessly to get it right. We are so grateful that they agreed to take on the job and for all of their efforts to complete it.

Ther service was impeccable. I was notifies every step of my repairs progress. Have to say I will only be having my cars repaired here. They took 2 days to fix an issue that the last place couldn't even resolve.

If you're looking for consistent, honest and quality work, then have Brian, the owner, Jacob and Bill take care of your car repairs. I've had multiple services done on multiple cars, and have been satisfied. There's great piece of mind that you're best interest is at heart.

Took my car in for check engine light, had scanned it with a diagnostic tool already, so I was aware of the codes. The tool said it was the thermostat and a sensor in the catalytic converter. I was told by the store that it was a wire was under the battery. They supposedly repaired the wire. The next day the check engine light came back on, I called the store and they told me to bring the car back in. Called me and said that their was a hidden code for the thermostat (Which my tool had previously registered), charged another diagnostic fee of nearly 200.00. I had the thermostat repaired, 2 weeks later the check engine light came back on, this time the tool once again registered the issue with the converter. Will not take it back because they will charge me another diagnostic fee to tell me what I know is wrong. If I allow them to fix this issue, a single repair will have cost me 600.00 in diagnostic fees, let alone the repair cost. It seems they have a pattern of not repairing all of the issues that the diagnostic scan reveals, so you keep returning the car and they collect more diagnostic fees. By the way, there is no such thing as hidden codes, when you scan a car. I also had new brakes and rotors done during this repair, I so not know if they actually changed the pads, but I know the rotors are not new, I questioned the store with a picture of the rotors, they said the rotors were new, but new rotors should not have corrosion on them after 2 weeks. I showed the rotors to several mechanics that stated, the rotors may have rust from the elements, but should not be corroded after such a short time. Admittedly, the repair time is fast, but it should be of you are not actually doing the repairs

Not a great experience . For my vw that had tail light issue , was quoted 355 for checking a light issue (I was told 180 initially but they said they need to do advance diagnostic ) and $2000 for fixing . I didn t go with fix and took to dealer . Dealer was able to do everything in $400.. wasted 355. Date : Jan 18 2024

My 2019 GMC Terrian had a major brake problem. I called the shop, praying for a same day appointment because I needed my vehicle to get to work. Bryan, the manager, squeezed me into their busy schedule that day. He even drove me back home. I felt at ease the minute I stepped into the shop, maybe it was the name that drew me in. During the repair process Bill updated me along the way; which put me further at ease. He even let me know about another issue that showed up while they had my vehicle apart. I appreciate being treated fairly and not taken advantage of as a woman. I told them I would be back for my regular maintenance services. You can t be the service and the hospitality. Do yourself a favor, go check the Popular Tent guys out. You won t be disappointed.

As a Christian myself, it pains me to write this, but I feel their behavior is anything but Christian. In my dealings with them, there was a very consistent set of red flags that I won't get into the details of, but that made me feel very unesasy like I've seen this movie before. My experience seemed to be highly consistent with the other recent 1 star reviews. So I fully believe the customers who wrote them.Setting aside those other red flags, here is my experience with them, which is what mainly concerns me.Over the course of a couple of days, I took both my cars in for an oil change. One of them (the 2nd one) after picking it up started making a loud intermittent whining noise. This started immediately (not 3 days later, but immediately) after picking it up. Feeling unesasy about it, I took it somewhere else to get troubleshot and replaced.Just a coincidence right? With my *other* car, they pulled out the cabin filter and showed it to us when we got the oil changed. It was grey with some leaves and probably dirty enough to replace, so we went along with it. After a month, we took it to the dealer for a different service in which they inspected the vehicle. Part of the inspection is checking the cabin filter. They pulled it out and showed it to us. It was so dirty, it was almost black and FULL of leaves. It definitely was not only not replaced with a new one, but looked like it was 5 years old, like they replaced it with something that would cause problems, most likely with.... the AC fan! What's the chances of having 2 cars with issues with the AC fan (or something that would cause an issue with the AC fan) right after getting an oil change at the same place? In dealing with all of this, I learned a few things:1. To replace the AC fan, it only takes about 5 minutes and is accessed from the cabin, under the cabin filter. So, it's very easy to replace it with a bad unit while checking the cabin filter without causing any suspicion. Why would someone do this? Because they can simply just replace the bad unit with the original one and charge for the whole replacement with the customer not ever knowing the difference and all they spent was 10 minutes of labor time, while charging the customer $400.2. The first thought that came to every mechanic's mind when discussing the whining issue with them is that maybe a leaf fell into the AC fan from.... a dirty cabin filter! This wasn't the issue with the fan that needed to be replaced, but it sure seems like motivation to put a filthy dirty cabin filter in like what seems to have happened to the other car. Again - why would someone do this? They can simply pull the fan out and clean it, replace the cabin filter with a new one like they charged for to begin with, and then charge the customer $400 to replace the fan. And all they spent was 10 minutes of labor.Needless to say - I will never take my cars to this place again. I really don't like coincidences!

Very polite customer service. Very quick for a walk-in. It cost me almost $200 just for them to find out what was wrong with it, and quote me a price to fix it. It was an obvious hole in the exhaust. Depending on your needs you can get honest shops to look at it for free.

I have been to every location in the Charlotte area of Christian Brothers. I believe they are independently owned. However, having been to every location over the years due to what was most convenient in that moment, I can say they all are good, trustworthy people. Have never had a bad experience. My dad, having been a mechanic himself, knows when he finds a good place to take our vehicles. Happy to say this is one of those places!

I ve been a customer with Christian brothers at the poplar tent location for years. My 2nd of 3 daughters is a new driver and I sent her to Christian brothers for engine light diagnostics. Bill called me with estimates. Canister vent valve and oxygen sensor. Approximately $800 before taxes. He also mentioned I needed tires. I told Bill that I m good to go with estimate for repairing engine light issue, but made it very clear, I do not . want to buy tires at this time. I work for a tire competitor. I would buy tires at a discounted cost. I only needed 1 tire. I would ve said needed 2 tires and recommend 4 tires. It s a trust thing/appropriate wording. Anyhow, my daughter seen a missed call from Christian brothers. She called back and spoke with Jacob.( service mgr ) this is the part that annoys me because I know Bill ( office mgr / service manager) would have ordered parts to repair engine light as we discussed and the tires would have been removed from my estimate. Jacob tells my daughter that, I did not answer the phone and she needs tires. She said, I m sure my dad wants tires, but he is paying so that is his decision. Jacob replaces all 4 tires. She comes to pay for invoice and drives away. That s an issue in itself, and was a good learning experience for her. An expensive lesson for me. My issue is Jacob did not have acceptable permission to replace our tires after I clearly said ( I do not ) wish to replace tires at this time. I repeated the 2 items to clear the check engine light with bill. $800 before taxes. 1. Appropriate permission is a must, if you want me to trust you. 2. Explain. How can you replace someone s tires without a discussion of brand preference, mileage warranty and how tire selected will benefit my driving needs? I know Bill probably told Jacob that I declined tires. I m sure Bill would have taken the tires off of the estimate copy. I feel like this happens often at this location. I ve contacted the owner by email whom has not replied, it s been a week. Perhaps the pressure for salesman to perform services w/o appropriate permission starts from the top. I would like my money back for tires installed without my permission, but if not that s OK. The vehicle rides better, of course, and I would ve purchased them in the near future anyway. It bothers me the two issues that I stated above. Crickets. Not even at the very least an apology or a reply from the owner. Jacob already had an opportunity to make it right, he told me he was right to do what he did. I have never had an issue there until now.

Wow! Fastest inspection ever. This place is always friendly and professional. I arrived early for my appointment time, prepared to wait and a little bit intimidated by the number of other cars in the parking lot. But don t let it fool you, they keep it moving on a great schedule and have you out as fast as possible! This is why I keep coming back. They even have a shuttle service if you have to leave your car with them the whole day - they can take you where you need to go in the meantime!

I wanted to give these guys at the Coddle Creek location a shout-out for doing fantastic work replacing my heater core and AC evaporator in my 2003 4Runner due to a leaking evaporator and poor AC performance.Having these replaced was initially daunting due to the entire dashboard and everything forward of the front seats needing to be torn down to the firewall, but these guys handled it no problem. They kept me updated with texts/phone calls every step of the way, and had it done faster then I planned on. They were even able to put back my stereo, and amplifier/wiring I had just installed the weekend before exactly as I had it. I honestly wouldn't be able to tell the dashboard had even been out besides my AC now working great!I'll absolutely be back for future work, thanks guys!Services: A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

These guys did a great job, very professional. Was able to answer my questions and guide me through the insurance experience. Was able to find more issues and did a great job in getting everything fixed. Would highly recommend them.

I asked for a diagnostic on my car because of a cylinder misfire, let them know that the spark plugs and ignition coil were checked. My intake manifold gasket was new and what did they do? They replaced my spark plugs, ignition coil, and Intake manifold gasket. 650$ worth of parts and charged me 150$ for a diagnostic. They never found the issue and the parts obviously didn t fix anything. Now I m 800$ in the hole with nothing to show for it. If you need any work done that a YouTube video couldn t fix then this isn t the place for you.

$1400.00 quote for brakes. Had the job completed for $904.00. Still high but not highway robbery. Im sure the quality of their work is good, but the price is ridiculous.

Where do I start. I dropped my car off between 10:30 and 11 am... I never received a call back I just went there an hour before it closed and my car was just sitting there. .Im was like oooookkkk so was no-one was going to call.. STRIKE ONE. After talking to the guy he told me that they couldn't replicate the problem so they couldn t fix it (my problem was my car would run hot if it was sitting or if I was going really slow with the fan on high) so I paid them $100 FOR THEM TO TELL ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO!!! STRIKE TWO... The last strike is the reason I WILL NO LONGER BE COMING TO THIS SHOP!!!! After paying they pulled my car around. AND IT DID EXACTLY what I told them it did it ran hot because he had the fan on high and it was sitting in front of the building. He proceeds to repeatedly press on my gas and rev my engine while my car is literally getting hotter and hotter. LIKE REALLY??!!!!!! So then he proceeds to tell me that my MOTOR IS BAD AND MY CAR LITERALLY WON T BE WORKING MUCH LONGER BECAUSE MY MOTOR WAS KNOCKING!!! My car is not even three years old!!!!!So if my car overheated in that little time it overheated when THEY HAD IT FOR ALMOST 5 HOURS!!!!I'm like there is NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON BUT MY MOTOR BAD!! HUH!! Then he proceeds to tell me it would cost me $15,000 TO REPLACE MY MOTOR!!!! $15,000!!!!!!!!!! Like ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! STRIKE THREE!!!!With that being said I took it to another mechanic and all it needed was COOLANT!!! Not A WHOLE MOTOR!!!!! So beware these people will tell you that something major is wrong and it could just be a simple fix!!!!!!!!!!!

Phenomenal experience. Amazing customer experience every step of the way. Everyone was very transparent about the repairs that needed to be done, the cost and the time it would take to be repaired before the appointment was scheduled. Very clean and comfortable waiting area. The overnight drop box was a huge plus. I really appreciate that they didn't cut corners with cheaper parts - I had my tie rod ends replaced and they used genuine Mopar parts. Will absolutely come back in the event I need repairs. The chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Do not go here unless it s a check engine light easy read and fix. They claimed to be an expert on my car and I had to take it back 3 times. They claimed to have fixed my problem, but in the end caused more problems and charged me for it saying it had nothing to do with them. DO NOT GO HERE. Smile in you face and stab you in the back.

  Jon Gilmette

Don't go here, they take it upon themselves to start repairs and replace items without proper permission, so you have expenses that you do not need or requested. Then the repair they did, did not fix the problem. .. I'm not sure what that extra $80 was for. This branch of Christian Brothers is not recommended from me, I originally dealt with the one at 9725 Harris Rd. 180 difference, will not go back to this location. I will drive the extra 15 minutes for better quality of service and treatment. If you are choosing Christian Brothers, go to the one at 9725 Harris rd where they do great work and treat you like a VIP.
