Came in because my engine would shut off when I'm driving.I initially went to AutoZone to have an idea of what was going on. They ran the test and gave me a code that indicated that my crankshaft sensor was bad. When I brought my car to the shop, I told him what AutoZone said.Later on I received a phone call stating the price. I didn't think it was bad at all. So I agreed.I picked up my car the next day. It was still doing the same thing. It shut off twice within a 20 minute car ride. When I brought the car back, the mechanic said, "Short of hooking it up to the sensor and driving it, I can't tell you what's wrong."Wait? So, he didn't hook it up to the sensor the first time?I picked it up the next day and he said, it should be fine now.I drove up two blocks and turned the corner. The engine shut off on me again. I did not go back.------Ended up taking my car to another shop. I told the shop owner everything that happened and was still happening.Within 10 minutes, he came out and said ma'am, you have no oil. That was it!!I had no oil in my car.He changed my filter and gave me 5 quarts of oil. Problem solved.-------I'm quite sure I ended up having a part replaced that didn't need to be.I am convinced the mechanic at this shop heard what I told him and ran with it. Next time, I'll just state what my car is doing and not what another company thinks should be done.Money and time wasted. But, everyone was polite and kind.

I bought gas logs from TR Lee about three years ago. I was very happy with the price, including installation of the LP Tank, and the warmth the logs offer to the living room. I've very happy with the customer service too. When I had trouble getting them to light this year, Fred Lee even came to the house to trouble shoot and give me detailed training in the functions of the remote and thermostat system. I am a very satisfied customer!

TR Lee is a great, local place. I had a hard time hooking up my 100lb tank and the lady at the counter was awesome. She was very patient and walked me through the hook-up. I bought the tank somewhere else and kick myself for not going to TR Lee first. Stop and shop at TR Lee first .very knowledgeable and helpful.

Stopped in to see if they had time to do an oil change. They did, and I was out of there in about 20 minutes. Whether it's my annual vehicle inspection, check tire pressure, a new battery, or an oil change, they're accommodating, fair, and quick. I love supporting our local businesses!Services: Tires, Oil changeServices: Tires, Oil change

I went there on three separate occasions to have a pre-purchase inspection done on a vehicle I was told twice to come back a different day. This morning they told me to come at 12 it would be fine when I said I could come at 12 I got there and the only rack they can use for the pre-purchase inspection was full and I would either have to leave it there.... a vehicle I did not own by the way. They don't make appointment and I was not willing to sit there for 2 hours.... Very rude and told me they could not help me and to just leave. I guess since it was only $25 for the inspection they didn't mind losing my business

I have used TR Lee for motorcycle inspections for a long time. I can get in and get out without a hassle. I've recently used them for a car inspection and propane refill. My experiences with both were excellent. I was unaware they could refill Blue Rhino tanks. For years I have spent extra money for less propane. The best way to get propane is to park in the laundry mat parking lot, walk across the road to the gas station and pay for the propane. The filling station is right next to the laundry mat so you don't have to hassle with where to park. I have been very pleased with all of my experiences with TR Lee and I'd recommend them for inspections and propane needs.

I have been using TR since 2008. They are a great company to work with. Reliable always here when they say they will be. I am on SS and they have worked with me on payments. Would highly recommend

Towed my vehicle from a body shop to my home. They blew an oil line on the tow truck in transport covering my vehicle and permanently staining my wheels. Not only did the driver not clean the oil off my vehicle but they didn t even have the decency to tell me about it. When I got home I had to call the body shop to figure out why my car was in worse condition than they received it in. TR Lee made no attempt to correct the situation or reimburse me for the damage to my vehicle.

I have purchased propane gas from T.R. Lee since 1988 with outstanding service. They have offered the best prices through the many years and their friendliness and customer service is outstanding. They did not hesitate to come out on a Sunday to deliver gas when I was faced with a difficult situation. They have and will always serve my gas needs.

Not taking accountability for massive kerosene leak into bodies of water. Too cowardly to comment on camera....and people are afraid to stand up and speak out freely for fear of this little family owned business? I'm not from Clayton. I'm not even from North Carolina originally....so I don't give an ounce of care about who these people are. But I DO care for the damage and death they cause to wildlife because of them and the fact they try to rule a town with fear? Whatever. Won't support any Lee business anymore. BTW. Clean up your filthy and I mean absolutely filthy run down laundromat. I made the mistake of walking into that business a few years ago and I immediately left. I know cleaning up stuff isn't your high point but do try. What a shameful family.

I'm not sure why all these bad reviews, but I have never had anything but a pleasant experience with TR Lee. I have been ordering propane from them for 2 years now. My delivery is always made within a day. They even delivered gas during snow to make sure I didn't run out. Their prices are more then fair in comparison. I was previously with McCracken and was being charged close to $4/gallon because I didn't "meet the minimum requirements for a contracted rate". Everyone who has ever helped me has been very nice, courteous and helpful.

I got an oil change exactly one week ago and since then have noticed my car leaking oil, especially when parked. There is a huge oil stain on my concrete driveway now, in addition to my parking spot at work. I took my car into a local mechanic to have the leak checked out and he said it was due to T R Lee s negligence in replacing the oil filter. It wasn t put back in properly, causing the car to lose 3 quarts of oil (my car holds just over 5) in only seven days. The mechanic said if I had let the leak go any longer, it would have completely run out of oil and ruined the whole engine. In addition to their negligence, the workers at T R Lee are also very slow. When I dropped the car off to have the oil changed, there was one car ahead of me waiting on a part. I was told it would be about 35 minutes before my car would be finished and ready to go. I returned an hour later and my oil change still hadn t been started. Another hour went by before they were finally done. Two hours for a simple oil change that they screwed up! The delay on my oil change was caused by their need to wait on a part for the previous car. They weren t actively working on said car, just waiting for a phone call about the part they needed. In the time that they spent waiting, they could have lowered the other car, moved mine on, changed the oil, and then put the other car back on. Or they could have used a different lift. The inside of their shop is also dirty and needs an update. I will never go back to this place ever again.

I'm editing this review because I was informed today that this company reads their reviews here on Google+ So, assuming the intent for reading is to improve, I felt the need to summarize my experiences into a more constructive message.Like others I've had an overall negative experience. This is a small company that's been around since the 30s. After almost every visit I've left feeling like they didn't really value me as a customer. There's no cordial greeting or "can I help you" when I walk in. I stand around not knowing who to go to for help and when I finally get someones attention there's a feeling like I've interrupted something more important. There are two specific examples that have really left a bad taste. The first one happened just after I bought my house. I was told that by purchasing both Oil and LP gas I wouldn't have to pay their $50 per year LP TANK rental fee. I purchased around $800 worth of oil that year but still received a bill in the mail for $50 tank rental fee. When i called a young woman answered the phone and I explained the situation. She got very rude, insinuated that I was lying, and hung up on me. So I drove to the store to speak with someone in person. They finally agreed to honor the agreement. The next year I also received a rental fee bill after buying around $1000 of oil.The second incident happened after I accidentally ran out of oil. I called them to get my tank refilled. But a gentleman arrived and begin filling up my propane tank instead of the oil tank. I stopped him and explained that I was supposed to get oil. He was less than polite to me and said he'd have to come back the next day. This would mean I had no heat that night. I was finally able to persuade them to come back that same day. It made me feel that the company didn't really value me that much.I hope that explains the reason for only 1 star. There are many other negative reviews just none have a name signed. Hopefully they'll all be read and it will drive some improvement in customer service. My original review said these same things but after re-reading it sounded a tad too hateful, (I must've been in a bad mood that day) and I do apologize for the tone of my original post. I know it detracted from the actual message.

I have had only the best and always courteous service from T R Lee. I don't expect them to fill me right before cold snap. They are a small local company, with only so many trucks and drivers. They will do the best they can. Once when the cost of propane had gone crazy, we got a fill up at a price you could not get anywhere else, but they only charged based on what they paid, not what the market would bear. They are far better than the various large chains we dealt with, Ferrelgas and NC something or other some 20 years ago.

I have been with T.R. Lee since I moved into my house nearly 17 years ago. I like them very much. I remember being low on gas just prior to the big snow storm back in 2006, and I thought I was up the creek! I called on Monday morning. At 7:00PM that same day, the storm had started and it was dark. I heard a rumble in my driveway, and the truck had arrived. They filled my tank just in time. I will never forget that customer service and how grateful I was!

Wonderful service. They installed my tank, did an excellent job running the lines to my generator & grilll (underground), and continue to provide excellent customer service. I find no problem in recommending them. You can't go wrong!

(See update below) Avoid!! I m writing this review from a hotel because they would not come out to fix a gas leak. They inspected the tank and filled it recently. Yesterday we could smell gas all around the outside of the house and called immediately. No answer and no message machine. First thing this morning we drove over there and told them about the gas leak. They said it was an emergency and they would be out today or tomorrow. We have not seen or heard from them. Too dangerous to stay in my home.UPDATE! The following day they did come in the morning, check and fix all leaks. The day after that the owner came out personally and refilled our tank for free. Perhaps they were overwhelmed with work orders but ultimately the service satisfied us.

We've been with TR Lee for over 25 years for our home LP gas. For the second year in a row now, we have ordered a specific amount of gas to be delivered and when they came they filled the tank up instead. Last year it was over double what we ordered and this time it was almost double. Their solution to this is "well we'll let you pay it off over time interest free". We reluctantly accepted last year even though we have limited income and it took us the entire year to pay it off. This year we ordered 100 gallons and they put in 173. Again they want to pay over time. I'm currently shopping around for competitors because I'm getting sick of this.

I just want to say, my experience with TR Lee has been great. I was a customer of a local competitor that sold out to a much larger company (Suburban) and was being charged almost $5/gallon for propane. After running out of gas 5 (FIVE) times this winter, I switched to Lee. They not only gave me a MUCH lower rate, they came out and hooked me up the same day, took my worthless tank away, and were wonderful to work with. I'm sorry that only unhappy people respond to sites like this. Lee serves many, many people, and there will always be unhappy customers. I'm not one of them.

Needed propane tank filled. Small tank nothing major. Anthony came out disconnected the tank and carried it to the store for filling. My wife an I went up to pay the bill and the tank was back and installed before we made it back to the house. I had a message from Anthony letting me know if I needed help with my gas logs to just call and let them know and they d be happy to assist. All of this for less than $150.00!!! I am so impressed with Fred, Anthony and the entire T R Lee company!!! Another victory for the small town family owned business!!!!

Excellent service in South Raleigh/ Garner. I called, they were polite, they came, they filled, their prices were lowest. They even squeezed me in ahead of others when I stupidly let my tank go empty. Remember that most people don't bother writing a review unless something pisses them off and half the time that's at least partially their own fault. That's my two cents...

I normally do not leave reviews but felt the need to after today. I went there to get my car inspected. They told me it would not pass because of my window tint. However I went through this last year and paid to have it fixed and it passed. Now this year it won't??? Said my back seat windows need to be 32 or higher. I didn't understand and he told me if it were an SUV type vehicle it would be ok but since it's a sedan it will not pass. It's a Honda Crosstour (hatchback). After contacting the place that did it last year they asked me a few questions on my current registration card. Long story short if the guy had LOOKED at my registration card he would have know it was in the SUV class. I asked him over the phone after getting back to work if he had looked at my card, he said no and he assumed it was a sedan since it looked like one. He also hung up on me after telling he should have looked at my registration card instead of assuming. I like giving local business my money but this one will not get it anymore. I take it he did not like that. Oh well.

Preacher/Retired VeteranBeing a new customer, I first talked to a customer service rep; she was nice. Then she refered me to a person named Fred (the Vice President). He was very courteous. He got my information and said he would try to install and filled the propane tank by Saturday (today being Thursday). Later, I called back but got another gentleman on the phone. I told him to relay a message to Mr Fred for me. He relayed the message and Mr Fred himself called me to confirm the message in less than a two hour span. He had already made the work order out to service me within the next two days. That is EXCELLENT SERVICE during HIGH DEMAND season! The last company I had required 7 to 10 days advance notice and there WAS NOT an urgency to get it to you; even if they could. Plus, the HIGH PRICES, 75 - 90 cents more - plus long waits, and eager to stick you with extra service FEES if your tank ran out of GAS. At times, I think they wanted it to in order to CHARGE more SERVICE FEES. No INTERGRITY and COMMITMENT to GOOD CUSTOMERS. That's sad! In the long it will not pay off.I look forward to experiencing EXCELLENT SERVICE with this company in the future. Give them a call, Mr FRED will treat you right!Based on my initial experience, I would HIGHLY recommend this company!!!

I live a charmed life. I called T.R. Lee, spoke to someone who know what was going on...had my account changed over from the previous owner in about 15 seconds, gave me stats on prior years usage and told me to call back once we knew if we needed LP or not. So I checked the tank and called back on a Saturday really not knowing if they would be open. They were...took my order and on Monday evening I come home to a bill on the front door and a full LP tank. Service like Mayberry right there if you are picking up what I am laying down. They might be good ole boys with no Facebook page or website and that's OK...who knew it was a requirement to have a Facebook page to deliver propane? Click here. :-) Thanks to the T.R. Lee team. I look forward to doing business with you from my new home.

Do not take your car to be fixed at this place!!! The guy had my car for over 2 weeks to get brakes done, we would have to call over and over to get him to answer!!! He totally destroyed my car I had to go with a tow truck to pick it up because after 20 days it was still not done. Then I had to take it somewhere else and they told me he totally took the car a part it won t even start the guy obviously has no clue what he s doingService: Auto brake repair

Have been a patron with them for over 23yrs and have had excellent service in propane, Mechanic and tires as well as gasoline. They have full service gas pumps which you don't find these days and being disabled this is a gold mine. They offer Non-ethynol premium gas which is all we use in cars and lawnmowers. I have and will continue to recommend them for their quality service and customer support.

Yes they may deliver gas within 48 business days but their service is terrible. They are in no way understanding of Christmas time and people cant always afford to pay 500$ dollars at a time every 4 weeks. I mentioned I was without any heat in my house confined to my bedroom with a heater and even the owner would not approve even the littlest bit of gas to hold me over until I paid my balance in 4 days. How could you treat customers that way? I'm sure if you were without heat in your home and needed a little help you would want a stranger to help you out.

Great hometown place for heating oil and LP. About 16 years ago I bought a 100 pound tank for my gas logs and then two additional large tanks for a whole house generator. All maintained and serviced by TR Lee. Cheaper to take your tanks to them, due to the delivery charge.
