We usually stay in Lake Lure but with the lake down, we decided on Chimney Rock. We ended up staying at Hickory Falls Inn. They have regular rooms and an apartment. We stayed in the apartment and it was amazing. So much room, wasn't expensive, and had all the amenities of home. There was even a washer and dryer with Tide available. We absolutely loved the downstairs lodge. Our kids enjoyed the games and we enjoyed all the complimentary coffee. Definitely rate it 10/10. The view of the waterfall was the cherry on the cake. This will now be our go to place to stay when in town.

A Must Stay!!! I rented the apartment here and it was Home away from Home! I rented it to just get away for the weekend. The owner and staff are so kind! We spent 4 days here. It is absolutely Gorgeous!! I have stayed at other places but Hickory Falls Inn gives you an experience of a lifetime when it comes to down home country mountain living or just to Get Away from everything. The check in and out is Self Service which is amazingly convenient, a guest closet if you are to need anything and a lounge just to relax! I did have an issue with my bedroom TV the last day we were there but the Manager and Owner were not hesitant about contacting me ASAP. They both contacted me personally which was awesome! I have T-Mobile so the phone signal is hit and miss at times but that is to be expected in the mountains and we had a storm while there but you do have good reception inside and outside of the room. I loved seeing the rain from our window and porch! The apartment was very clean and had everything you needed for a perfect weekend! There s the town to your left which has stores and places to eat! Constantly hearing the water as it flows down the river is Amazing and our view from the room was Spectacular! We walked out of our door and there is the mountain with the waterfall! It s a must see in person and only at Hickory Falls Inn.This trip meant so much to me. My dad unfortunately passed away in September of last year. The place he wanted to go was the mountains when he got better but he didn t get to go so I went and I said Dad, this is for you!! The stay at Hickory Falls Inn has been one for my books that s for sure! I will definitely be staying here a lot more often throughout the year! Even if it s not vacation if you need to just get away from the world, this is your place and you will not have any regrets!! Thank you Bridgett and Zandra for making our stay so wonderful and peaceful

My husband and I booked the reservation on 2/18/24 for 3/15-3/17 through Southwest. We arrived at 11:00pm and learned Hickory Falls is self checkin. - We never received instructions from the property on room number, entry, nothing. We tried calling the number on the sign and the number on the website but couldn t get in touch with anyone. By 11:40 it was clear there was no way we were getting the room we had paid for. A hotel down the street kindly took us in and saved our night/weekend. **Hickory Falls NEVER reached out to me, never responded to my emails, never returned my calls.**

Hickory Falls LIED and said they honored our reservation when they did not. They left my husband and I stranded at 11:30 PM. A hotel down the street took us in at midnight. -- Hickory Falls Inn sent me an email stating they would approve refund, and gave "sincere" apologies, only to LIE to SouthWest that our reservation was honored and to not return our money.

I checked in late on a cold December evening to find that my room did not have any heat, because it was so late I couldn t get a hold of anybody. I slept in my car the next day I wanted to take a shower, and only a small trickle of water came out of the faucet just enough for an ant to maybe take a sponge bath in. If you were looking for the experience of squatting, you have come to the right place. If you want heat and a shower, you will have to go somewhere else.Noteworthy details: Premium prices for a squatters lifestyle!

We booked a family deluxe room at this self-service hotel having both a king bed and a twin. It was the cheapest option in town and I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. It was obvious that the people over the hotel are dedicated to its upkeep- it was a beautiful room. I didn't expect the twin bed to be a top bunk with chairs underneath for seating. My 2 year old enjoyed his night on the ceiling despite multiple bonks on the head and him asking for a drill so he could "make a big hole up here". The bed wass comfortable and the bathroom was large enough but there is not a fan and it gets humid. I planned to crack the window but then saw all the bugs on the other side drawn to the light (it was nighttime) and thought better of it so adding a screen may be a good idea. There is a nice view of the waterfall from the front and it's not far away from town but it is on the fringes and there aren't any sidewalks to get there (however there is a wide grassy shoulder that makes walking safe enough if you opt for that). Parking was available which after visiting the village of Chimney Rock, I see how valuable that is as space is limited. There was a storage closet that allowed you to pick up whatever you may have forgotten to pack including a pack and play, razors, toothbrush kits, and of course refills for the items provided in the room. There is a lobby that contains lots of games and some refreshments and a fenced in dog lot for if you are travelling with a pup. I loved the text-based check-in system and having a room code instead of a key card- it made everything so simple.Rooms: Well designed, with comfortable beds and an AC unit in a window where it wasn't blowing directly on us. There was a ceiling fan over the bed to circulate and it was a nice set-up. Good water pressure in the shower. A nice mini-fridge was available for our snacks and drinks. Everything seemed clean and it was very quiet with the exception of some louder-than-average vehicles driving by which wasn't an issue for us.Nearby activities: Near Chimney Rock State Park, the Riverwalk, several dining and shopping establishments, Lake Lure isn't too far away either.Safety: It seemed like a very safe place to stay. No in-room safe but deadbolting keypad entries on the doors. My family felt secure here.Walkability: No sidewalks here but a wide grassy area is on both shoulders of the road leading into town (where there are sidewalks). It's not very far removed from the village.

My fianc and I have stayed here a couple times now, and this will now be our go to spot when we visit the area. The Inn is self check in and service, which made me a little nervous at first but the owner is so dedicated to ensuring it all goes smooth. The rooms are clean and very cozy, all updated and modern. I liked that we were able to go get extra linens or coffee whenever we wanted instead of having to wait on staff. They even had binoculars in the room so we could look at the waterfall and mountains. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend!!

We stayed in room 6. It was on the lower level on the end by the steps. King bed and 2 chairs. Good AC in July and 2 chairs w/table outside. We found two comfortable wooden chairs and sat by the brook staring at the mountain/waterfall at Sunset. Plus we're watching the bats in twilight, minus was the load traffic on the road. The traffic thinned out later, and the moon over the cliffs was phenomenal. Highly reccomend staying here..Noteworthy details: We stayed Monday thru Thurs 4th week of July and a lot of places were closed. Bring your own food if you want to eat after 8pm. Apparently season starts in August. Lake Lure Boat Tour for $20 was the best. Bridge of Flowers is best at 8am.

A fantastic place with an excellent host! Oscar and Debbie both were amazing, and sat around the grill sharing stories and local information. The rooms were cozy, the beds were comfy, and the showers were my favorite. Being about a half mile from town, it was no big deal to walk to town if parking at the shops were full. The view from the balcony was second to none, and Oscar was able to direct us wherever we needed to go. After a great weekend with the family, he suggested we stop by Sliding Rock in Brevard County on our way home. A small detour that ended up being well worth it, and something we never would have found on our own. Will definitely be staying here again, and we are already planning a return trip next opening season.

This is a cozy and comfortable spot in close proximity to the town. The owner was very friendly and met us there. The bed is super comfortable and the room is very clean. It felt very homey. My husband loved the shower pressure and hot water. I liked the little cute touches like the notes in the bathroom and the miniature trash can/ice bucket. We felt safe and secure and the owner was available if we needed anything. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will come again when we are in the area.

This was a nice place to stay. It was very clean and comfortable. Oscar was very nice. This area does not have chain motels/hotels so they aren't the same as what you will find near the interstate. The lodging in this area reminds me of the old motor lodge days. It takes you back in time. They are locally owned and operated. This place was more than I expected. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room in the bathroom. There's even a little water fall beside the inn. It's only a half mile to town. I would stay here again.

Stayed here early in the year for a last minute Mommy/Daughter weekend. We were on a seriously tight budget, and looking for a nice quiet place. This little place was exactly what we needed. The bed was so comfortable, I would have stayed in it all day if I could have. The room was superbly clean, Oscar was friendly and welcoming, and I loved the view. What made it even more perfect was we were the only ones booked. Wish we could have stayed the whole weekend and had the place to ourselves. The new owners have done an amazing job keeping some of the original elements, while still seamlessly blending in modern comforts. My parents used to stay at this little place for occasional getaways, about 30 years ago. My Mom is no longer with us, and Daddy doesn't travel anymore, but I know they both would have enjoyed it as well.Thank you for ann excellent place to make good memories!

Such an amazing place to stay for the weekend. Clean and affordable and knowledgeable staff. Oscar and Debbie were beyond helpful in meeting any of our needs, recommendations and even showing our boys where to look for some cool wildlife. Coffee and snacks in the morning and literal seconds from all things lake lure/chimney rock. They even have multiple copies of the movies that have been here for guests to enjoy. Oscar and Debbie may have been the best part.

We stayed in several hotels during a mountain tour this past week and we have to say this was the best place on our route. The owner Mac is very friendly the beds were so comfortable and the views were amazing! The dacor of the room was very aesthetically pleasing. And another nice touch was the sound box playing soft music and nature sounds and it had extra charging cords for your phones. Also they had free movies to borrow and a DVD player in the room. The towels were excellent quality brand new and very fluffy. Out of all the places I stayed this is the best night sleep I got. Thanks again!

This place did an outstanding job of combining cozy and comfortable with sanitary and contactless! We booked and paid via phone and got the room key from a box outside the office. Everything looked and smelled clean. Ice is available in individual bags! Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Towels were fluffy and absorbent. They even provided cleaning towels for spills or drying your motorcycle ! Nice touches were a sound machine and binoculars! Definitely a comfy and safe little hideaway with a lovely view of the falls and Chimney Rock, within earshot ofthe river. Our only complaint is smelly cigarette ash buckets out on the walkway. Luckily no guests used them while we were there. Overall, this place is an exceptional bargain and a real delight.

Clean, comfortable room with just what we needed for our stay. This is a great location - just past the main strip so a little quieter and a fantastic view to walk out and see each morning! There was a decent size fridge and microwave that we used to make most meals during our stay to save money. They had a single serve coffee/tea maker and offered ice for your room and your cooler for the ride home if needed. The only thing we hadn't seen before was a suggestion to tip the room cleaner...it was optional, and a nice thought - but we were using all in our budget to stay there, so we couldn't do that. In this state that the world is in, it was nice to feel comfortable and safe being out of our home, so we did appreciate that service! We have already recommended Hickory Falls to our friends!

Beautiful rooms make you feel right at home. Cooked some steaks on the grill and sat around the fire pit chatting with the Guesthouse employee Mr. Oscar. He was/is such a nice, kind man. The price of the room wasn't my favorite, yet I'd surely visit/stay again if need be.

I wish I could give 10 stars to this guesthouse. Location is great. 100% clean room, clean bathroom, soft towels... Super comfortable bed. We walked in looking for vacancy. I met the owner Mac. He was professional, friendly, and made us feel welcomed to his business. This guesthouse faces the Chimney rock waterfall. We will indeed come back!!!

I can t recommend this place more. The owners are welcoming, friendly, and eager to please. The rooms are clean, the beds amazingly comfortable, and the toiletries high-quality and all-natural. It is so relaxing to sit out on the deck in the morning and evening and look across at Chimney Rock and the waterfall...great view. It is a short walk to the river and town, and price can t be beat. We will definitely be staying here again.

So after reserving this hotel I was even more impressed and happy when we checked in it's a small little place with more personalization and kept up very nicely. The view of seeing Hickory Rock Falls waterfall right in front of our room along with Chimney Rock from the upstairs was amazing not to mention when you get there you see this Wisteria that has sprawled out and in full bloom that smelled amazing as you're sitting out on the upstairs porch. They have chairs outside the rooms which are very nice. The bed, sheets and comforter was so comfortable. They have a DVD player with movies downstairs will you can watch that go with the history of the area. Last of the Mohicans that was filmed partially in Chimney Rock State Park along with Dirty Dancing that was also filmed in the lake. There's so much history for this place where you can find more history information at the Lake Laurel Inn.The owners even have a really nice history I've been moving to the area. The husband is so informative and even told us of places to go and experience while also sharing experiences from his customers have stayed at the hotel.I absolutely recommend coming to this place to stay. We only stayed Friday through Monday for a surprise for my husband on Father's Day. It is very quiet while also being just a short little walk away from the town but all the while the peacefulness of the porch, see the Broad River, listening to the water flow and watching Hickory Rock waterfalls was the added additions that you didn't expect but am very grateful that I did choose this hotel then some others. We will absolutely be staying at the same hotel when we come back for another visit. Thank you to the owner's.

I stayed here years ago when it was under different ownership; what a difference a change in ownership can make! Our room was spotless, Deidra Rose did an amazing job.The Guesthouse itself is nestled in the mountainside and the noise from the river across the road is magical. Plenty of parking, private atmosphere, and priced reasonably. Close to Chimney Rock Village and all that the area offers. I can't recommend this hotel enough, we'll definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay. It wasn't fancy but the little touches that were added to the room to make it unique were GREAT! Things they offered that BIG chains do not like binoculars for views and makeup wipes for the ladies to remove their makeup. A sound machine for added peace. A small throw pillow on the beds and DVD player that they let you borrow videos from the lobby to watch if you want. The view stepping out of the room of Chimney Rock was amazing. You can hear the water from the river across the street as you sit under a covered porch right outside you room. The owners are VERY nice and the ONLY problem we had was a loud upstairs guest. No worries though...these owners take it serious and immediately handled the rowdy guest so we could enjoy our visit. It's obvious they really RESPECT their guest and WANT to make your stay comfortable.

Best place we stayed our entire trip to the mountains. Room nice and clean. Comfortable bed. Great shower for soothing away our aches and pains from the days adventures. Fantastic view of the mountains and the falls. The sounds from the river was soothing to the soul. Thanks Mack for a wonderful stay. We'll be returning to stay with you again next year.

Absolutely loved staying at the Hickory Falls Guesthouse! Loved the overall vibe this place puts off. Felt like I was staying at my grandma's house. Alot of love and care put into the room. For a reasonable price I felt like it was very comfortable & homey.Oscar the manager was very nice and took care of us like family. Will stay here everytime I'm in the area.
