My family and I have been visiting chimney rock for the past 4 years. We always chose to stay st Evening shades! First I want to say how great Yvonne and her husband Tim are ! They are always so welcoming and making sure everything is great while we stay!! They are just overall amazing people! The rooms are very clean and cozy. I have never been disappointed! The view of the river is the icing on the cake. We love staying there! I recommend staying at Evening Shades if your are visiting Chimney Rock!

We came upon this lovely spot while on a road trip in NC. It was a perfect little spot, right on the river. The proprietors (sorry I didn t get their names) were most courteous and accommodating. It was quaint and decorated nicely, nothing super fancy but very nice. Very clean. I would definitely stay again.Walkability: The River park way behind the building was breathtaking.

Very excited to stay here until we noticed the no pet policy. First off, we are dog people and while understanding the stresses pets can bring to establishments (our family manages over 30 properties in Gatlinburg) we just don't appreciate such a strict no pet policy. Secondly, we do have a service animal and by law are allowed to bring our dog no questions asked....but there isn't a single word about a service dog policy. Such a shame, we love Chimney rock, the reviews we read were excellent and it looks idyllic. I would suggest looking into your pet policy, at the very least updating it to accommodate service animals-as is per the law-we shouldn't have to contact someone personally to find this out, it just makes us feel unwelcomed with our pet.

We normally camp or stick to the chain hotels but we picked this location completely on a whim.. so happy that we did because we love it!! Cozy room with 2 queen size beds and a small sitting area. On porch out front there are 2 rocking chairs to relax and enjoy the sounds of the river/stream that runs through the back of property. There are fire pits and grills out back. Very convenient to "downtown" Chimney Rock and the entrance to Chimney Rock State Park. Hickory Nut waterfall and the flag platform were both visible from our porch!!We will definitely be back Food & drinks: Only a few restaurants nearby to chose from.. Nearest grocery store is a good 20 minutes or so away.

We have been staying here for years and love it. Never even considered staying anywhere else. Yvonne and Tim are so hospitable and friendly. It is so peaceful sitting on the porch watching the river flow and campfire at night, waterfall, Chimney Rock, campers across the river and the small wildlife. Accommodations are very clean. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.Rooms: Very cleanNearby activities: Chimney Rock Village and Park, Lake Lure, Parkway, wonderful scenery and much more.

I just can't say enough about Yvonne and Tim that manage there.The room was so clean and fresh. This was our third time to stay there and as always just great!!! They have upgraded their wifi.The fire pit at the river is awesome!! Will be back soon. Thanks again for a great stay.

The Best Place to stay in Chimney Rock. Yvonne and Tim are Wonderful!! The staff is all so friendly.Rooms are clean and the view is Amazing. We have been here several times and will be coming here for a long time!!!Tammy and DaleRooms: Very clean and feels like home!!!Nearby activities: Shopping and vineyardWalkability: Shops are nearby and great places for lunch and dinner!!

Went for a weekend getaway with my husband. Arrived late but the key and directions to room was on the office door. The back of this hotel was beautiful with the views of river. Saw the waterfall from Chimney Rock from our room. The room itself was older, but decorative in a fishing cabin feel. It was clean and comfortable for our short stay. Good water pressure in shower and convenient to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Enjoyed the swing in back watching kids play in river. The bench outside of our room was broke and cigarette butts From people who stayed before other than that it was a nice stay. . We would stay again.s

Absolutely beautiful location. The riverside park and the fire pits are great. I have stayed here several times. Rooms are very cozy and dated but comfortable. Views are amazing. Wifi is an issue because there is no cell service in the area. We stayed last weekend and the WiFi didn't work most of the time. Pretty important when you are traveling with teens and small kids lol. The main issue I had this time is my 5 year old left his shoes under the bed. Totally my fault that I didn't go back and check and I take responsibility for that. However, my mom and I had both called to see if they were turned in by housekeeping. We were promised return calls but never received one. I spoke with someone today (5th call this week) who told me no one ever turned them in and wasn't very friendly about it. I was a little disappointed in that as we normally stay there 3 or 4 times a year.

This place is truly amazing. Me and my husband have been going here many times a year in the same room for years. Yvonne and her husband are wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are so clean and very cozy. This is the perfect place to just get away and relax. The views of the river and the Chimney Rock and Waterfall are awesome from the back porch of our room. This rustic room was the PERFECT place to stay! If your looking for a cozy place to spend the night that is super close to Chimney Rock this place is it!! Right on the river, you can see the falls (in the distance) from the Porch, camp fire at night, hosts are on site for any of you needs! They have updated TVs so you can stream if you re stuck inside due to bad weather. As others have stated these rooms are a bit dated, but the floors were new vinyl planking so SUPER clean we NO Carpets and as mentioned the newer TVs!! #Win we stayed in the flower room with two queens (room 10) and had great access to the river! There was also plenty of free parking right outside the rooms! Not for those looking for a spa/resort this place was simple and absolutely perfect for us!! You won t regret staying here oh and it s the only place on the river with DIRECT private access!!

I have stayed here a couple of times and it never disappoints! It is right by the river and has swings, chairs, and even a fire pit right near the rivers edge. The rooms are cozy and clean. The owners are available to accommodate any requests that you may have. They are a super friendly couple and make your stay as comfortable as can be. I can t say enough about this place! I would not stay anywhere else! I know it s going to meet every expectation I need for a nice and relaxing stay!

I recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience! The caretakers, Tim and Yvonne, were extremely nice and were always there to make sure the stay was as pleasant as possible. As everyone has stated in recent posts, the property was beautiful and peaceful while centered around an abundance of nature by the river. The only complaint I have is that they should consider upgrading their internet service. The weak signal doesn't allow much for streaming or video conferences, which I tried to access on several occasions unsuccessfully.

We rode up on July 3rd. This was the last room in Chimney Rock. We LOVED the cozy room. Clean and very well kept. Being on the river is so nice and the fire pits that are set up along the river. It was a very relaxing visit. We will be back.The ONLY negative was the WiFi. We were not able to stay connected and our phones had no signal.

I was so sad to leave and go home today. The view of the waterfall and mountains from our private balcony was gorgeous. I really enjoyed being able to keep the screen door open to hear the river. The seating by the river was great and there s a cute swing for two. The room had everything you need to enjoy a stay at Chimney Rock and I loved how simple and rustic it was. It s in a perfect location. I would 100% come back.

This is a very quaint, cozy gem on a large babbling brook filled w beautiful boulders - and little waterfalls right outside your door. The ambiance and beautiful scenery is beyond description. We even saw a shooting star during our stay by the bonfire s mores! The owners are very thoughtful and the lodge was exceptionally clean. It was an amazing stay that we shall not forget! We want to go back again asap! You should too!!

The place had a nice view of the river but for $166 a night I would have expected a little more. Floor was dirty, cockroaches in the bathroom, and shower would not drain at all. But neighborhood are was quite. Although nice but all 3 "available" internet's did not work at all and no service there either so no way for family or anyone to get ahold of you if needed.

We went to celebrate my fianc� birthday, he s never been but he loved it! Upon our arrival on Saturday morning (9/11/2021) I discovered I had not hit BOOK NOW to reserve our room . Fortunately I did take a picture of my reservation and the owners figured out by the picture I failed to book it. They were completely booked, however someone had cancelled the family size cabin on the hill. They allowed us to stay in the cabin for the price of our original booking! It was fantastic!! We enjoyed the porch overlooking the mountain and town. The bed was so comfy and the sheets were fantastic! We will definitely be back!

Really a cute place, parking was easily accessible both in front and back. Beautiful sitting areas and a fantastic view by the river, we even did a little photo shoot on the rocks. The room was immaculately clean and smelled extremely good when we walked in. Not a speck of dirt or anything a n y w h e r e. We were lucky to snag a room spur of the moment after another customer had cancelled. The woman at the desk was extremely friendly too, didn t catch her name though. This is such a wonderful place and is now our go-to when we re in the area. Keep up the great work!

So nice and peaceful sitting by the fire pit right next the river and the option to swing while listening to the river!My family, my brother in law and his family and sister in law and her family all went and all 3 rooms have been remodeled and they were very clean!Beautiful views and definitely took advantage of swings, grill and fire pit and will definitely be staying with them again!WiFi and TV was in and out but its kinda expected with being in the mountains. My kids were fine til the 2nd night and it was bed time and cartoons were not working. Lol

What a great place! From the map view on Google, this seemed to be a pretty remote spot, but I guess I just needed to wait and see it for myself. It s situated right along the river with spectacular views of the mountains on the other side. There s an awesome main street a quick walk up the road with local shopping and restaurants.Harry and Linda got us situated in our room and offered up some supplies to start up a fire by the river that night - which we took them up on! It was an overall great experience. Wish we would have stayed more than one night!

Mu name is Regina Easler, me and my fiancee have been coming to this specific place for a couple months now. The people in the office are wonderful people and very nice.. the rooms out ba k have such an amazing view of the creek and they are very nice and clean. You can go out by the creek at night and swing or build a fire and it's so peaceful. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Excellent! Harry and Linda were both great hosts! The place, though a bit "dated", was perfectly maintained and super clean. Our room was room #2 "The Bears Den" and was decorated with cute bears and buffalo plaid. I felt like I was in a cozy cabin in the woods, and we could hear the river to lull us asleep at night. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to find myself staying here again soon!
