Beautiful but cold as hell make sure u have the right clothes on. Even if your not a fit person you can enjoy. To get to chimney top u do have to do like 2 flights of stairs but if u can't u can still see great view just coming off the elevator and walking out. The stairs not to bad just take your time and go early. I went around 930 10 and it has little crowd but I was able to enjoy and get great pictures. I was able to go up alone and take great pics and videos.Restrooms: Small but there are enoughDog-friendliness: Just watch your dog and follow the rules that is long way down.

This park is awesome!!! Great one day trip plus the town is very tourist oriented and there are lots of things to do. The hike is awesome and plenty of birds to watch and you can do it 2 ways, one you can hike from the parking lot up to the flag or you can take the shuttle up to the base of the rock and climb from there. Just be prepared for a lot of steps. Great views a ND things to explore there will definitely recommend it.

Spectacular scenery! Great hiking and the trails are well kept. Elevation will take you up to 2,480 ft. The elevator is very convenient, getting you to the upper gift shop, for those not able to do stairs. Unfortunately, it will not get you to the top of Chimney Rock.

I will call this place as a real Gem of NC. We visited during Dec holidays with family and everyone loved it. They have around 500 steps to reach at chimney rock and another 500 if you want to go at the top of the mountain from where you can get breath taking views. The location of this place is really amazing and there are lots of restaurants located at the base near river.Parking gets little difficult when there is lots of crowd.Don t miss this place if you visiting NC.

If you need the elevator, I recommend calling before arriving. It was down the day we went. But we were there for the hike. Being afraid of heights didn't allow me down. The views make it all worth it....even the next day when your calves are burning!

An iconic landmark in a very beautiful park. The view from the upper tracks is simply stunning and worth the climb.Don't neglect the Hickory Nuts Forest Falls, to be visited possibly at the time the sun starts to light the falls directly for some stunning light effects.Nice stores and restaurants in the village below.A very pleasant visit.

I love it! First you go a long way in your car, the ticket price is $17 they accept cash and card, when arrive to parking you can take a bus or walk, I decided walking the trail, I recommend to grab the map like that you don t lose any trail to explorer even the small trail on the left side worth! Don t forget good shoes and water. Don't litter and don't pollute with loud music, if you want to listen to your music use earphones please. No seas naco.

Love this place. Beautiful Views. Lots of crowd but easy and accessible hike. They have elevators. You won t regret visiting this place. They have a small cafe on top that sells sandwiches and ice cream. They also have a gift shop. I highly recommend visiting this place.

We loved this place! The fall leaves were still lingering, and it was so beautiful! The grounds are well maintained and there are trails to hike on the way up.There is an elevator tobtge top and then a gift shop with snack bar with a seating area with amazing views. Lots of great views even if you are unable to climb the couple flight of stairs to the flag.At the very top. Even more great views. This is a must do, when in this area.

Absolutely beautiful. The hike to the top of the waterfall was somewhat difficult. I'm in pretty decent shape. But I was also drinking wine the whole time so that may have had an effect.Very worth the visit though!

Our visit to Chimney Rock State Park was a highlight in our adventures! From the restrooms being so beautifully maintained with murals painted inside. To the rock feature itself, and the trails so well maintained... and the absolutely breathtaking views. We could not have asked for a better day. If you can go when the weather is good, it's a bonus!

Chimney Rock State Park, nestled in North Carolina's mountainous terrain, offers a breathtaking blend of natural beauty and outdoor adventure. The park's centerpiece, Chimney Rock, presents a majestic sight, towering over the surrounding landscape. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the top, accessible via a scenic hiking trail or an elevator. The park is also home to the striking Hickory Nut Falls, a 404-foot waterfall that adds to the area's serene beauty. The diverse flora and fauna within the park contribute to a vibrant ecosystem, where nature enthusiasts can indulge in bird watching or simply relish the tranquility of the forest. For the more adventurous, the park offers rock climbing and a range of hiking trails varying in difficulty, making it a versatile destination for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts. However, the park is not without its drawbacks. First-time visitors might find the entry fee a bit steep, and during peak tourist seasons, the park can become crowded, which might detract from the experience of solitude in nature. Also, some trails can be quite challenging for inexperienced hikers, and the limited dining options within the park might be a downside for those looking to spend a full day exploring.Overall, Chimney Rock State Park is a gem for those seeking to immerse themselves in nature's splendor, though it's best enjoyed outside of peak seasons and with some preparation for the rugged terrain.

Beautiful view. Waterfall did not have much water this time of year. A lovely trail in the woods.Make sure to give 3 hours here minimum. Especially if it is a day they make you take the shuttle.

Beautiful views. I m sure the best season to visit is fall because of its colors or maybe spring but I m not sure about allergies lolThe are multiple options to go to the top of the mountain. Take the elevator or take the steps. Dogs are welcome but not inside elevators. For the most people are very respectful with dogs and keep them on a leash.Entry was $10 dollars per adult.Parking: plenty of space

The view from the top of the rock during October is phenomenal! Be ready for steep steps and if you are feeling adventurous you can climb even higher. Gorgeous views and trails. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. There are no bathrooms once you get past the Chimney Rock.

We went to Chimney Rock with our daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren (ages 4, 7, and 9). I was worried about going up the elevator and walking up the steps to the Rock. It was easy. The elevator was a very smooth ride. The steps to Chimney Rock are very sturdy. I just kept my eyes on the person in front of me. I made a point not to look down, and all went well. I felt very safe on top of the rocks. All of my grandchildren loved it! The views are spectacular! It's totally worth it to go to the top. There are trails that lead to higher points with even greater views. I hope to get in better shape to hike there.

The panorama providing a breathtaking view to Lake Lure and Hickory Nut Falls - which was the filming location of The Last of the Mohicans movie btw - there's a lot of picnic area at the park and the entry fee is like 20$/person which is not too much. There's an elevator to get to the top of Chimney rock if you don't want to hike that much. Absolutely worth the visit.

A beautiful state park. Last of the Mohican's was filmed by the waterfalls. Plenty of parking. Lots of trails to hike. No camping but there is a lodge, and several stores. You must climb Chimney Rock! See photos!

This was a great park! There s an elevator up to the Chimney Rock part, but the hike up to the top view is pretty strenuous - but worth it! My favorite part was the trail to the waterfall. There s not quite as many steps to it and it s mostly flat and not too muddy.

Absolutely Gorgeous!! Wear comfy shoes and bring a jacket just in case. The elevator is great to get to the top of Chimney Rock. But be prepared to hike. There is a bus that takes you up to the main area. Gift shops, sandwich shops and ice cream too.Restrooms: Beautiful painting and murals in the restrooms. Super clean!!!

I fell in love with this place. The hike was satisfying, the views were superior. Even had a waterfall you could cool yourself in. It was very very hot, we went in July so the water was helpful but most of the hike was in the shade anyways which was exceptional!

Beautiful park with amazing views! You can admire the landscape that surrounds the monolith. Areas such as Lake Lure and the mountains around look fantastic from the rock. There are several trails with different intensities, but you can enjoy nature all around. The Hickory Nut Falls is a must-see. The trail is just 1.5 miles, and most of it is smooth and easy to walk. I highly recommend this State Park!

Super cool area, went up to the rock and exclamation point. Great views all around. Tried to continue on the loop around 450 but was told it was closed despite signs saying it's alright as long as you start the trail by 5pm. Other than that it was a fun experience

Indescribable! Absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Super dog friendly with water bowls available throughout. With several difficulty levels for hikes, and each clearly marked, there's something here for everyone.
