Flat out terrible service with unprofessional, unscrupulous and incompetent vendors. AHS never desires to resolve issues, warranting any improvements to the paying homeowners. They simply dispatch contractors who know how to misdiagnose the issues or lie, putting the onus on the homeowner. For 5 months, I have been inconvenienced to the point where I had to seek out senior corporate leadership members on LinkedIn and email them regarding this long-term issue. The matter has not been resolved, and I will have to pay out of pocket to resolve everything. I really didn't want to resort to this negative remark but I am left with no choice due to receiving poor service. Skip the home warranty altogether and save funds to repair/replace items in your home on your own.

JUST DON'T DO IT!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! They don't tell you, but it's a contract so there is a large fee to cancel. When you try to cancel, they will pretty much put you on a plan where you get several free months but you never actually truly get to cancel. Had to do a stop-payment with my bank.

AHS is so unprofessional! I needed a refrigerator replacement. I ordered one and I got it delivered, almost. The fridge brand is Whirlpool (they have great quality appliances). Whirlpool contracted JB Hunt (the worst delivery company) to deliver the fridge. JB Hunt came broke the old fridge in it's entirety and left with the new one due to a shutoff valve not being where they wanted it (they require it in the kitchen). I called AHS to get a solution and they refused to help so I asked for a supervisor. Well that didn't go well either. They couldn't transfer me to one and had to put a note in for the supervisor to call me. I waited the weekend for them to call and they called the wrong number so I needed to put in another note for them to call me. The next day they called me while I was in the bathroom. I called right back and said sorry you missed the call, the supervisor will call you tomorrow. The next day I keep my phone glued to me, I don't receive a single call from them. I am still waiting for my refrigerator and will most likely drop my contract with them. Companies should not punish the client and make it impossible to talk to just for needing to use their services.

Do not use this business they do not care about the customer only the customer's money. I put a request in for service on my ac unit. 4 days go by during a heat wave where my family and i had to endure temperature in the house ranging from 85 to 90 degress. I call for an update and get the same scripted line of our dispatchers are currently looking for a contractor in your area but if you dont want to wait you can out source and get "paid back" i cancelled everything with them immediately and was charged for another month service which they say is their "administration fee" after having an email saying what i owe was 1.19. Seems like good business practices. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.Service: A/C services

I have been a paying member of American Home shield for the past 10 years. I have an older home and don t have a lot of n be extra cash on hand in the event a major appliance goes out. I called them to inform them I had an inspection of my heat and air system and was informed it needed to be replaced. They informed me that a technician would be out to evaluate the issue. The technician agreed the unit needs to be replaced. I asked how much it would cost with the warranty and was told it would be 8000.00 funny thing is the company that did the inspection was only going to charge 7200. Absolutely no point paying for a warranty that doesn t exist.

I wish I could give zero rating to this fraud company.Many years ago I bought a contract of coverage for my home appliances, from America Home Shield, and last year had an issue with my centrally air conditioning system, paid them $100 deductible for the technicians visit.The technician visited , inspected and gave an estimate of $3500. As I am a little technical guy, I chose to inspect and found that there was no issue with the system except that the power switch had tripped and all that was required was to put the switch to on. WHAT A CHEAT .As this was my first complaint I thought of giving it another chance and kept on paying my monthly coverage of $ 50.After 18 months now on July 7th , I had issue with my dish washer , where few plastic wheels have gone missing ( seems they broke and disintegrated) call the Home Shield , spoke to 4 reps , now even after passage of more than two weeks , no resolution offered and seems there will be none. Today being July 22nd I am so frustrated that an thinking of buying a new dish washer rather then call these cheats again.Discontinuing my coverage with immediate effect.Horrific experience and Hope law takes action against this cheat company.

My furnace stopped working. The guy who came out had never worked on an oil furnace and knew nothing. Then he turned in a false report and lied. I asked for another company but no one called me for a day and half and it was 4�!! I finally got someone else out and they fixed it but AHS has refused to reimburse me. The first guy told me I had to replace my furnace for $8500!.

Let me tell you. Their parent website AHS has 4.8 stars. I think it s because they don t allow all of the terrible experiences to be posted. I got swindled by their repairman and paid an extra $125 that I wasn t supposed to pay. I called numerous times and they weren t able to contact the contractor that they sent to issue a refund. They then said they would refund me the $80 service fee. I called after a week of no refund and they said they are backed up, still processing refunds from Dec. I told them I just wanted to cancel. They charged me $73 dollars on the spot. Funny how they can take my money so quickly but the refund will never be processed. Terrible, terrible, terrible. No integrity and completely untrustworthy in my experience.Service: General repairs

They deserve a negative review they are that terrible. DO NOT choose them...there are way better companies out there. The people that you are speaking with can barely speak English. They charged us monthly for a service that we had cancelled years ago. They are not honest. They never told us that we were renewing our contract. They said because of COVID they couldn't mail us our contract because it wasn't safe. They emailed our tenants instead of us, the owners. They have you on auto pay and then they charge you if you want to cancel. You will wait long extended times on the phone. They just continue to stall you. Today it took me 2 hours and we got nothing resolved. Please don't use this company. You will regret it!

I do not recommend this company. Been a client of theirs for over 7 years. Twice we had tried to get our water heater fixed and we ended up paying for it full price! The second time the water heater was still under warranty! Please be aware of this company. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

This has to be the most incompetent and corrupt company ever. They will send some of the worst contractors to do repairs. The contractor damaged my plumbing breaking another water line while trying to fix another one. AHS refused pay to have it repaired and did not even fix the first problem. They will do anything to find a loophole to get out of paying for the repairs. The customer service is just garbage you will wait on hold forever and when you finally get someone there is a language barrier. They will no put you through to a supervisor. They are trained to read from a script no matter what you say. Do not buy a home warranty from these people.

Horrific company, 3 times to fix my A/C and still not working. I Leave messages for managers to call me back and they don t. They do not live up to their contract or what they sell you. They are expensive but I wouldn t mind if they sent out quality techs. Never had this issue with Sears or Service America.DEFINITELY I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AMERICAN HOME SHIELD..

Garage Door has a broken spring, easy fix right? Well not if you have AHS and pay for a warranty to cover that equipment. It has been 7 days since I scheduled the service...today was supposed to be the day. No tech showed up, missed to seperate 4 hour windows. Probably not the tech's fault, im sure they were just overbooked. But really, how hard can it be to find a garage door tech? There are literally 20 companies listed in my city alone, more in the immediately adjacent towns. Only after I called and complained, threatening to cancel my entire plan, did they waive the service fee and offer to provide a complimentary service. The moral here, I don't believe AHS provides a service worth the value for these minor repairs. Maybe you're in an area that has very expensive service, or an area that has no service providers, maybe worthwhile in that case. I'm hopeful that AHS gets it right sending the next technician, not holding my breathe...I wouldn't make it if I did.

I'm a Realtor and my clients use many home warranty companies. "AHS" USED to be one of the best. Now it's not one that I recommend to my clients at all. They are not responsive, can't be reached via phone, can't ever talk to a LIVE PERSON and their repair times are over 2 weeks out. Yes you can schedule repair online but you don't get it done any sooner. Their techs are also among the most expensive (should you pay them without a warranty contract) and the least qualified based on my personal experience. My opinion based on using them personally: Don't waste your money.Service: General repairs

This home warranty can never be reached when the appliance they cover cannot be repaired. They claim they will replace the appliances but in my experience they don t reach you when the repairman has given up, and you certainly cannot reach them. Calls and emails are not responded. I thought they were legitimate but when it is so difficult to contact them, it speaks poorly. I would not deal with them again, and it is yet up in the air if they will ever honor their promises

Very poor customer service! please dont buy from them! such a rip off! i have been paying 50$ a month for 2 years and recently my dryer went out. They were unable to fix it and when offered a replacement, It was not even close to being comprable to what I had so I had to take the pay out. Then a week later my ceiling fan broke and they denied the claim even though ceiling fans were included in my contract! Plus, both f these times I had to pay a service fee of over 100$ and nothing was fixed! I was also on hold for over an hour! There customer service is terrible!

Deserving not 1 but a -3!!Charging monthly, charging service fees even if they don't "repair or replace" - using technicalities like "lack of capacity" for something that has been installed and worked in a house for over 15 years before it broke.Their "support" is abysmal with people in other parts of the world barely speaking English and without any interest or power to make a decision.Services: General repairs, Plumbing services

DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THEM!!!They give a new meaning to the word harassment, I hadn't even clicked okay when I was looking into prices before my phone rang with them calling me. Since that day I've received 24 phone calls in 4 days pure harassment they will be reported to the Better Business Bureau, should not even get one star

One start only because you can't give negative stars. Inefficient, rude, charge without consent for service fees before the contractor even comes out for service. A contractor did not show up and it took 10 months to get a refund from them. I have used this company for many years but in the last five years, it has gone downhill. They take extended amounts of time to get someone out (over a month). In the last 2 years we have not had a single service call without extensive problems.

Do Not use AHS! It s a warranty scam! They will get a contractor out for you and that s about it. The contractors don t ever do service, they just tell you the problem isn t covered and try to sell a whole new system, which is also never covered. I m still yet to discover anything they will actually pay out for. There s always some loop hole buried deep in thick language in the contract that will be some BS reason for them to not pay. Put it this way, the seller for my house paid for my warranty and I m still so unhappy with it that I m going to cancel and get a prorated amount back. AHS is such a terrible experience that I m going to finance and fix all of my problems myself, this is not a warranty, it s a scam.The loopholes I referenced above... in the warranty, section D, number four, Letter b and also section D, number 14, letter L.I sat and read this entire contract front to back before I excepted it from the sellers, the language is so dense that you ll never catch stuff like the two sections above. Those were the two sections they reference to why they couldn t work on or fix my AC unit when it went out. And it took them a whole week to even answer me with a no. Save yourself a lot of time, frustration and definitely money You re better off saving your $500 a year and plan to handle the repairs yourself. It s not fun, but at least doing it on your own you can shop for the best price and not be pigeonholed into terrible options with mediocre contracted companies.On a sidenote, I feel they should take American out of their name, sure they cover people here, but their attitude and service don t represent any America I know

This is a home warranty company that is possibly the most unresponsive, customer unfriendly and frustrating company I have dealt with over the years. I suggest you stay away. I have had the warranty for 4 years on this home and 11 years on another. In all those years I never needed their service until recently. I won't go into details but the thousands of dollars I spent over the years have been a total waste of money. It saddens me that companies can get away with unprofessional and unfriendly service. I suggest you avoid.

They sell you bill of goods. They only repair broken parts. Example: My water well pressure switch failed and the repair man said if ruin my pressure tank. AHS replaced the switch they said that cost was $700.00 but I need a new pressure tank. That cost out of my pocket was $1400.00. Out of curiosity I called a Well and Pump company to evaluate the work. The Pump gut said he in 30 years never saw a ruin presser tank over a stuck switch. Even if it was he would have only charged $800 and that included a new tank. AHS is not what they say they are, Bare minimum is all they do. They will always find a part to replace never the appliance. Save your money.

If your appliance is not fixable they do not replace it. I've called numerous times and they never return my calls and wont connect me with a supervisor. It's the worst customer service that I've ever seen. It's been 45 days since my dishwasher broke and no news yet. Run from this company.Service: General repairsService: General repairs

This is the Biggest ( RED FLAG) company in the USA do not deal with them at all anyone Danger.American Home Shield has nothing but ( bad ratings )do not go near this company they do not listen to their customers voices but they will take your money they will not refund you and they will find ways to get more money out of you for service called your voice does not matter whatever the technician says that s what it is this is the lowest rate company in the USA they treat everybody as if they were all liars and low class people.

Over a month without hot water. AHS and the contractor can't get on the same page and I have literally logged over 6 hours on the phone with both of them doing the running back and forth for them. I'm about to fix it myself
