I was up in Charlotte visiting my mom and a had a check engine light turn on the day before driving back to Georgia. Drove in with a check engine light on, of course it had turned off when they pulled it in. They checked the stored codes and ensured everything was working fine. OV in the front was lovely to talk with. I believe James worked on my vehicle. I am relatively knowledgeable about vehicles but explained more to me and helped me learn more. Wonderful all around!

The Pep Boys on South Blvd is truly exceptional. The staff members are outstanding in their service. When I took my car back in after a tire replacement,I was unaware that there was metal stuck underneath it. (So of course I blamed them and was wrong)Despite this unexpected issue, the staff handled the situation with professionalism and did not take my complaint personally. They were patient and guided me through the process of identifying and resolving the problem, which turned out to be quite random. I was truly impressed by their dedication to providing top-notch customer service. While I typically remember names, in this case, it was the entire team that left a lasting impression on me. Their commitment to excellence was evident day and night, with both male and female staff members contributing to making my experience the best it could be.

Literally the worst experience I ve ever had trying to get my car fixed. Manager has a slight language barrier and gets upset if you don t understand what he s trying to tell you. Kept me at the shop for over 4-5 hours just to tell me I should leave it overnight so they can fix it. Come to find out the issue was just a battery. Tried to charge me $500 for a new battery. I will NEVER go back there. And I will be advising others to do the same. Literally THE WORST!!

Brought my car in last year for a state inspection. I sat for about 2 hours. I decided to give them a second shot this year and brought it in for a state inspection, as well as a diagnostic test. After about 1.5 hour, I was told what was wrong with the diagnostics and it would be another hour. Well, 3.5 hours I waited My dash cam shows me when my car is turned on, so I saw him take it for a test drive and then pulls right back into the garage ? It had been 5 hours of waiting at this point. I asked Luis how much longer it would take. He says the state inspection isn t done yet and my mechanic is working on other cars Ok, I was the ONLY one who was waiting in the lobby and had already been here for now over 5 hours. Take the 10 min to do the inspection! I told him no, I want my car and I m leaving. Luis got a bit of an attitude at first saying, fine. No inspection for you then . I paid and left. Now I have to find another day and another place to get it inspected. What a waste of a day. I wish they d have been more accurate in how long it would take.

Moved to Charlotte used them multiple occasions , new tires , oil change and inspection amongst the things. Ov, joe , Luis, Caleb and the manager Jamaican fellow, have always taken care of me and I never had i issues . There s a waiting area unlimited water and a tv while you wait.

I made a last minute late appointment at this location last night for a tire. The tire was really bad and I didn't feel it was safe to drive any longer. I felt bad for coming in so late but Caleb was exceptional! He was reassuring that they didn't mind as long as they could help. Damel identified the root cause and suggested the additional service, even though it meant they'd be there even later. I greatly appreciate the level of service and attention to detail, even when it was last minute.

Walked in, Caleb the front desk was really helpful. Transparent and kept his word on price and how long it would take to complete oil change and rotate tires. While we were waiting in the waiting room, the other staff were also friendly. Recommend

Gave them another chance and let them change my oil. I waited all night to closing, literally after 8pm on Thursday night and Sunday, I checked my oil, and it was low. Took it back, and Nick came out to verify and found the same. He checked for leaks, found none, went to get more to fill it up, and come out with a jug labeled 5w 40 sae when my car takes 5w30 synthetic blend. He claims he poured 5w30 in this container, but I know companies are not allowing oils to mix like this. From the past 3 of my experiences here, I have reason to believe they are just not going to do right by my car. What if I knew nothing about cars? My engine would've locked all because of this fake oil change. What's worse, there's no one to call to get these matters resolved. The only thing I can do is not go back. Now I have to go pay for another oil change somewhere else because I don't trust them nor have all day for them to do it again. I don't feel comfortable even giving them another chance because they may succeed in messing my car up this time. Unsatisfied ex customer. This is the reason people trust and find street mechanics.

Yesterday I suddenly had a problem with the charging system in my car. The battery charge has disappeared, although the battery is new, I bought it just a month ago. I went to Pap Boys on South Boulevard and they offered to check the entire charging system. After a couple of hours, they gave me a decision that the problem was a bad battery. OK. I say, turn on the car for me, I ll go buy a new battery, since I ll have to pay for a replacement from them and it turns out to be 2 times more expensive than the cost of the battery. I can change it myself. they say they can't start my car. I asked to roll it out to the parking lot near the garage, and went to wait for someone to do it right in front of the garage. No one came for a very long time. then everything went wrong, the guy I talked to at the front desk came with the employee who brought the jumper. I connected the terminals to the battery and I personally started the car. she turned on. It turns out that they didn t even try to start it again?! and the problem is still not clear! I left in my car, and on the way I saw the same notification again. In the evening, my husband brought a new battery and I was already driving in the morning and again an alert came out about checking the charging system. Pope Boys didn't check anything, but he took the money. If you want to find out what you are paying for, walk next to the garage and see how they waste your time, walking back and forth, chatting, cars hanging on a lift, no one around for 30 minutes. spare your wallet.

My car battery was on its last leg. After calling several auto shops, I was able to connect with Rick on the phone at Pep Boys. He was incredibly helpful and told me to swing by. Sure enough, a few minutes later I pulled up and he was able to service my car quickly and efficiently. Great customer service and reasonable prices! Definitely recommend in the Charlotte area. Thank you, Rick!

Excellent service. Would love to know why nationally, the service warranties on tires, etc. you have on your vehicle with Pep Boys are only recorded at the store you had service and are not readily available thru the PepBoys entire system. Waiting 25 minutes for warranty details was a bit uneasing.

Duwayne Lee (service manager), James M (mechanic) did a great job fixing my car. It was in a timely matter and I m grateful for them accepting my car issues last minute. The environment was welcoming by everyone who worked there. Thank you for a pleasant service.

I had a flat tire and the team here was extremely helpful with getting me sorted out! I appreciated the quick action once I arrived, as well as the communication from the team on pricing and what they would need to do. I will gladly recommend this location to anyone in Charlotte and would bring my car here again. Kaleb and Demal were great! Thanks for your help.

I usually go to Pep Boys due to their cheaper prices and coupons they offer, and I ve been to this location a few times with minimal problems. I went on 11/25 for an oil change, made an appointment for 8:30am a week prior. Arrived at 8:20, then proceeded to wait for 3 hours before they even brought my car into the bay. I was there for a total of 3.5 hours. Overheard front staff telling a customer that the online appointment system has no limit to how many people can book an appointment for the same time and to call corporate. I was there waiting in the lobby with the same people the whole time. So obviously that needs to be changed. When I finally went to check out, I find out they had used synthetic oil instead of conventional. Was told that when I booked online, I had put in the notes that I don t know what oil my car takes, but when I logged in at home I had clearly selected conventional. So they went against what I selected and told me after they had already completed the service. Then tried to tell me that conventional oil is very bad for my car, when my manual says differently and I ve used conventional in my car for 3 years now and no problems. Thankfully they had a promotion going on for oil changes, but I would ve paid close to $100 for that oil change when I usually pay $30-$40 for conventional. I left feeling like I had wasted my time and money. Not sure if I will return to this location.

I appreciated the level of responsiveness and assistance from the employees for my car inspection. I had never been to a pep boys location before, but decided to give it a try since I wanted to go somewhere different for my car-related responsibilities. I called and asked questions about service and making an appointment, each time I called my phone calls were answered quickly and whoever picked up the call was polite and helpful. I did have to wait longer than expected for the car inspection and was there for nearly two hours, but this time around it didn t affect me since I brought my work with me and just stayed on my laptop continuing my work from there. They have free wifi, so I was glad that I could easily continue my work from there while waiting. I didn t know that apparently only this location and the one on independence blvd do car inspections and that the pep boys closest to my place doesn t do car inspections, but I would say that driving 35 minutes to this location was worth it and I ll look into coming back here in the future. Thank you all for everything you do!

I dropped my car off this morning to have my brakes replaced. My original representative called me and recommended a fluid flush as well as brake replacement. I clearly told him that I did not want this service and only wanted my brakes replaced. When I came to pick up my car, very luckily, OV was my representative to check me out and showed me that my original representative not only charged me for the fluid flush that I explicitly said I did not want, but they charged me twice for this service that I did not want. I am so thankful that OV caught this and was decent enough to inform me that this was incorrect. Because of his honestly and kindness I will be returning! Highly recommend OV for service assistance.

Duwayne Lee is the worst manager . The way he was talking to customers was reprehensible. He threw the keys at one lady and said several rude remarks for no reason. Poor experience. I will not be going back as I and several other people who were in the store today had horrible treatment by this man and the other so called manager named Luis. Don t spend your hard earned money here. Go to Discount Tire for a much better service all around. I will be contacting the BBB as well as local news.

Brought vehicle in on Wednesday for A/C work. Told it would be ready Thursday afternoon. Then told technician could not finish job and he wouldn t be working on Friday, so it would be late Saturday when finished. They don t have enough employees and I had to call back every day to check on progress. Not acceptable work or communication. Won t be back.

Been a customer to PepBoys for years, always excellent service, until I came across one of the most disappointing and disrespectful human being, they have a sir called Dwayne Lee as Manager, yelling like he s in the jungle, bad attitude, no values whatsoever, poor choice, this man is only hurting business as employees can be replaced but customers won t! I really hope corporate views customers complaints and take them serious. As for that man, good morals and values come from home, there s no fixing on him.

OV did an incredible job doing extensive research on my vehicle before providing me the information required for service at the Mercedes dealership. Saved me a ton of money and called the dealership to ensure my vehicle was covered under warranty.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! THEY ADDED PARTS TO MY TRUCK WITHOUT CALLING TO CONSULT WITH ME OR MY HUSBAND & CHARGED ME THE LABOR FOR WORK I DID NOT AUTHORIZE WHICH IS STEALING MONEY. I WAS TOLD THE MANAGER DWAYNE DOES THIS TO EVERY CUSTOMER HE ADDS PARTS & LABOR WITHOUT ADVISING THE CUSTOMER WHICH IS STEALING MONEY! THEY MISDIAGNOSED THE ISSUE WITH MY TRUCK & HELD ME RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR IT WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS ALSO AGAINST POLICY. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO GET YOUR CAR WORKED ON & THE MANAGER IS A CHEAT & A LIAR! LEGAL ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AS WELL!

I honestly don't know why my parents took their car here. The customer service here has always been the worst. This experience was the worst one. I had received and missed two calls from pep boys but called back 10 minutes later. I was immediately put on hold. I hung up and called again and was once again places on hold for 30 minutes. I drove down to the shop to figure out was going on. When I arrived I saw the reason why I was put on hold for so long. The advisor that was there "OV" was on personal call, on his personal cellphone. There were no other customers there since it was almost closing time but yet I was placed on hold and just plain out ignored. I stood in there for about 10 minutes before being acknowledged. I guess OVs phone call with his girlfriend just couldn't wait til he was not working anymore. When he finally acknowledged me he just handed me my keys and paperwork and if I had to ask about the services done because I had been there earlier and was told a part was gonna have to be changed and they would have to order it. OV knew nothing about this and no notes were left on my previous conversation with Caleb. This whole experience was the worst and as someone who works in customer service OV is just a waste of payroll.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Dropped my car off for state inspection and oil change. Rep calls me, tries to sell me three services that I 100% did NOT NEED and made an attempt to mislead me into thinking they were required to pass the inspection. Gross. "Oil flush" because of "dirty oil" and a realignment on a perfectly operating car with under 10k miles!? GTFO. Never going back.

Outstanding experience! I called on a Friday the week before thanksgiving and OV answered and said come over right away! I was taken within minutes of arriving and had the best experience I highly recommend !!! Don t look elsewhere!

Very unpleasant experience.Made a reservation 9:30am and left my car 9:05 am with an update that it would take only one hour or so to perform an inspection of check engine light.However nothing done until 11am when I checked a status.My car stays sitting on a parking.Chris is a manager who I dealt with.None of a single apology I have received from him.Never ever go to this garage unless you wish a good amount of trouble and waste of time

Recently I visited Pepboys at the location "5020 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217" and the manager at the store was rude and mean. He does not know how to talk and behave with customer. He also screamed me to take the car to any other location, even though I had an made a prior appointment 4 days back. He was hyper and aggitated. As a customer, you dont expect such behavior from the store manager. I would stay away from the location. The name of the store manager is "DUWAYNE LEE". MANNERLESS & HORRIBLE PERSON!!

On Sunday, July 23rd, I had just started my 100 mile trip home from the Charlotte airport after an international flight. The weather had been bad so we had to sit on the plane for an hour after we landed until things were declared safe. When I reached my car, I was exhausted. I started driving home and noticed the signal for a low tire on my dash board. I stopped the car to look and could tell my left rear tire was going flat. It was 4 pm and I started looking for tire repair services. Pep Boys was open and only a few miles away. I arrived and was treated with kindness, patience and amazing assistance. The late hour didn t stop the excellent service. The fact it was Sunday didn t factor into the equation either. My tire was patched up and good as new in a timely, caring manner. The service was impeccable. I am so thankful.
