(09-20-2023)You've heard people say, "Not all superheroes wear capes." Well, I have a new saying, "Not all angels have wings and halos." Carpenters Auto Service and the people who work there are truly heaven sent! Renee, Richard, and Joey are completely AWESOME!!! I appreciated how transparent and honest they were. They made me feel completely comfortable and confident in their knowledge and skills. The atmosphere is welcoming and you can really sense their pride in being able to provide stellar auto service and impeccable customer service.Today was my first visit (09-20-23) and I look forward to being a longtime customer. Carpenters Auto Service will always be the shop I'll refer to anyone from now on. Everyone was so friendly and spoke so highly of the owner (Charles). He has really put together a great team.I came in with a rattling noise that was quite concerning. Everyone involved worked diligently to find the source of the noise. They showed me what the problem was and what needed to be done to get me back on the road SAFELY!!!...because the problem was the result of negligence from particular dealership's service department. The cost of today's service didn't require that I sell a kidney either...the service was very reasonable priced.Today I drove home feeling safe and at ease. I'll be back on Monday (09-25-2023) for a consultation appointment. I am very happy, grateful, and BLESSED to have found a group of mechanics that do high quality work and really value their customers.Check them out...you'll be glad you did!Service: Auto brake repair

I have had wonderful experiences with Carpenters Auto. I have been in Charlotte for almost 20 years and always took my vehicles to the dealerships for maintenance until I found this place. They are very professional and will make sure everything is done and done right. I have been coming here for over a year for all my maintenance and they are very reasonable!! If they find something that needs be taken care of they tell you and how soon it should be done.I definitely would recommend them to anyone that needs work done on there vehicle!!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Oil change

As a native Charlottean, Carpenters Auto has been repairing and servicing my vehicles for more than 20 years. I don't think you can find a more friendly, honest, and knowledgeable auto shop in this town than Randy, Joey, Rene, and the rest of their team.How I wish the rest of the companies I work with were this good!Services: Auto power window repair, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes

The service that this company provides is extremely well. Mr. Charles, Rene, and Joey really treat me more than a client, They treat me @ others customers like family.. Everytime my vehicle is in their care, they go over @ beyond to keep me informed from start to finish about the welfare of my care and how the plan on restoring it.. Rene and Joey personally calls me periodically to let me know if anything different comes up @ if I can afford the cost before they proceed with anything different occurs. I've been dealing with Carpenters for about 10 or more years. I've never seen them turn down any race or different cred away for service . I've witnessed them treat everyone with respect. RENE even picks up @ drop customers off (myself included) while their car is being worked on there. This company has never shown any racial profiling...I'm an African American male. Mr. Charles and his staff has always extended an olive branch to care for my vehicles.... I'm grateful to this company.... I have been going to this shop for the past 15 years. My kids and now grandkids all have our vehicles serviced here. It is beyond me how someone could possibly think that Charles and his team would be racist!!!! Not only do they always go above and beyond to address SAFETY concerns they also let Us know when the tires and brakes are getting low so we are able to plan for those expenses!!! Charles and his team have been nothing but upfront and honest when it comes to repairs over the past 15 years. Keep up the AMAZING WORK and THERE IS NO WAY THIS SHOP IS RACIST!!! We will never go anywhere else to have our vehicles serviced!!!

I had my truck towed to Carpenters and let me just tell you how upset and disappointed I am in this company. This company is very racist and just out to get money at this point. They are horrible with communication and want you to pay upfront $500 just for diagnosis. I would respect A company that s just honest and saying that they don t want to work on my truck or a better explanation for a policy that s not applied to everyone. The people that work here are very nice nasty when it comes to black people and make their own policy s. When you call in just sound as white as possible because they will over charge you.

They are courteous, competent, great customer service. Even though they could not inspect my car that day, they directed me to a shop that specialized in state inspections - Auto Inspector, 2826 Central Ave. Charlotte, NC 28205.

It's the honesty for me. My daughter had her car inspected in Greensboro and was told she needed water pump, head gasket and about $5k in parts and labor. I had her tow back to Charlotte and found this hidden treasure. None of those things were wrong. Everything was minor fixes and a fraction of the cost. Truly appreciate the transparency and amazing customer service.

They are amazing!!! I have found my permanent mechanic for all of my car needs. I have a 2015 jeep renegade I bought brand new off the lot. I ve never had issues with the jeep until the check engine light came on, there is a 1st for everything. I called them and they gave me an appointment the next day. The dealer offered an appointment 2weeks out. The shop is really close to my home so they dropped me back home and picked me up when the work was done. Talk about incredible customer service. The repair was done the same day. The price was extremely reasonable. Renee, the office manger, made sure I was updated, professional and extremely friendly. I remembered my 12 DV wasn t working (the plug you use for the tire pump that comes with the jeep). I called and they offered to check it while the car was there. I can t say enough good things about this place. I rolled up with a leaky tire from my daughter s car and the tech was really polite and helpful. He had us fixed up and on our way in about 15 minutes and the price was lower than I expected. I am not from this side of town and was worried I would get poor service and/or ripped off, but I was pleasantly surprised. Their good ratings are legit.

We heard about Carpenter's a few on our neighborhood's Facebook site and decided to give them a try. It has now 5 been years and we use Carpenter's for all of our vehicle repairs. No one wants to hear that they have spend money on their car, especially when its a big ticket item, but Carpenter's always shoots you straight, gives you all of the information and offers alternatives that may be less costly when possible. You really couldn't ask for anything more. They are also very good about keeping you updated on the progress of your repairs and are usually very quick. I can't say enough good things about this shop and would give them 100/5 stars if I could! These are absolutely the people you want to trust with your car, and I will be a lifetime customer of theirs. Renee was WONDERFUL with scheduling my appointment and communicating updates with me as the technicians were working. All the mechanics in the shop were kind and knowledgeable- they're happy to explain exactly what they're doing, how, and importantly WHY. The team even went so far as to drop my car off to me after it was finished since I work close by to the shop. It was time to find a new repair shop when my previous mechanic failed to fix or even diagnose the major oil leak in my old Ford Ranger. I came to Carpenter because of the reviews. Everything & everybody was super duper. Scheduling was easy. Joey called to explain what they found and give the estimate. He took time to discuss options etc. No effort to upsale or pressure. New valve covers, plugs, spark plug wires, rebuilt front brakes. I'm happy with the work. I also appreciate that they actually took it out for a good test drive. Some shops don't and you get unhappy surprises. Thanks Carpenter Auto Service. Super duper & easy peasy!Services: Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Oil change

I cannot say enough great things about this car maintainence shop! Renee, Charles, & Randy are SO welcoming every single time and so accommodating when I am scheduling appointments! The maintenence team are also very helpful & speedy, however, knowledgeable and will give you their undivided attention to any concerns. I have been going here for a little over a year. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. Don't pass this place up!!Services: Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

This visit was my second time visiting them and they did amazing work. I first spoke with Ms Renee and was extremely helpful. This shop is right in my neighborhood and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Everyone is so personable, kind and professional. The mechanics even came out and talked to me as well and future things to look out for. I was and am highly appreciative.

This place is amazing!! My car was shaking pretty bad when i would accelerate and was making some loud noises underneath the car when i turned or accelerated. I was worried that it was going to be a crazy expensive repair, and also that parts would take a while due to the back orders going on with covid. Within 24 hours of dropping off my car, they gave me a very reasonable estimate, had my car fixed (and changed the oil!), and even helped me get my car home due to my work schedule making it difficult. They also somehow fixed my radio which has been broken for 6 months while having it! I will highly recommend these folks to anyone needing car work! Loved how speedy this service shop was at my oil change and state inspection. Infact, they got me in the next day for an inspection when other places couldnt get me in till the following week. I think I spoke with Renee on the phone who was lovely and prompt. The gentlemen at the counter were the first, to not talk down to me being a woman and assuming I know nothing about cars. Instead, they were professional and answered any questions I had. I encourage you to try this auto service shop! Great thing about it, its only minutes my from my house! Friendly, speedy, and conveient.Service: Oil change

Honest and fair. Got my car fixed the same day. They also went above and beyond by finding me a full sized spare tire for my jeep. I will be being my car to them for all my service and inspections for the foreseeable future.

One of the best kept secrets in Charlotte. Friendly service (Randy), and professional and honest work (Charles) done on your vehicle. Not the least expensive service shop, but prices are reasonable and they won't perform any unnecessary work. Stand behind their work and a comfortable place to do business.
