We moved to the Charlotte area 13 years ago and I took one of our cars to another place for the inspection. I was told it failed inspection and the estimate to get it fixed would be over $1300. A neighbor of mine recommended ALMAR and they got everything fixed and my car passed inspection and the total was a little under $100. We've been coming to ALMAR ever since.I've got a Saturn that is over 20 years old and has required a few repairs since we've been in town. I've always been satisfied with the service and costs. I've never felt that I've been oversold and they've always been straightforward with us.

Man, when I tell you amazing services! It's absolutely amazing. Mike was very responsive to all my questions and really worked for me. Thank you, you're truly heaven sent. I didn't feel like I was being ripped off like most places would because I'm a female. Man, i recommend them for all my car needs now. I won't go anywhere else unless they recommend me. My truck runs amazing. Better then it did when I brought it. THANK YOU!!!

I cannot speak highly enough for the group at ALMAR. Everyone on their team is kind, knowledgeable, and so responsive. Even after hours! We have used them several times now and I will not be going anywhere else. They are so honest and put forth the extra effort on everything they do. Not to mention they are certified auto repair with Costco and uphold their pricing agreement. They were well under the quoted cost of the GMC repair shop and dealer ship on South Blvd and much more open and honest and diligent on our car issues. I will be referring them to everyone I know and more!!

Our family has been going to Almar for 15+ years and would never go anywhere else. They have always been professional and completely care about your service and experience. My family of girls have always felt so comfortable with how they have treated us, looked out for us and made sure we and our cars were safe no matter what. We have recommended to other friends and they have been so appreciative and we re happy to find this gem of a mechanic.

Service that goes Above and Beyond!!! I needed new tires badly on my pickup but my job is very demanding in the summer and I could never pry myself away long enough to have them replaced. Rusty and his team made it so that I was able to have my vehicle picked up from my work while I was out of town to have the tires replaced. Not only was the service incredible, but the new tires they recommended look great, ride great, and were all properly balanced! I could not be happier! I would highly recommended Rusty and his Team at Almar for any vehicle maintenance!!!

As a female it is always scary when your car stops working and you need to trust someone to fix it for you. Almar has been taking care of my cars for the past 14 years. They are knowledgeable, reliable and have taken great care of my vehicles. I am confident bringing my vehicle to them for maintenance and repairs as they never recommend unnecessary services, and are always looking out for my safety and well being. I have recommended them to friends and they have received the same honest and trustworthy service that I have appreciated over the past decade. I can't recommend them enough, great service in a timely manner and fair pricing, they can't be beat.

Brought my car here with a catalytic converter problem and wanted it fixed before i moved to florida. I don't know much about cars which is why I was cautious of which shop I chose, so I read lots of reviews and I'm glad I did. The reviews are dead on. what a couple of honest reliable and knowledgeable men. Rusty and Mike recommended to me frankly that the repair wouldn t be worth the money for me. Even though it is in their best interest to sell work, they were still looking out for my best interest. So they looked at it and gave it back to me for free, ultimatley giving me all I could ask for which is an honest, professional opinion from the ones who know best, as someone with little experience who could be taken advantage of if I'm not careful. Thanks a lot guys for the recommendation and for putting my best interests in mind. All I can ask for as a customer. Cheers

A few weeks ago my car blew an engine, withoutknowing what to do from there i started calling around. I came across Almar auto repair, and iam sure glad i did. The owner Rusty called me back immediately and he assured me theycould help. I brought my car there the next day and they addressed the issue immediately. My experience dealing with Rusty and Mike was nothing short of incredible and i would recommend anybody with car trouble to Almar.

Almar, Rusty and his crew came to this single moms rescue! My brakes were becoming nonexistent. Rusty saw my car to be unsafe for me to continue driving myself. It was arranged for my car to be taken to the shop. The repair was done and I received a follow up call before I even realized my car was already there and in the garage being serviced! Can t thank this crew enough for looking out for my safety and for their timeliness, so I could return to chauffeuring my kids to all of their activities. Highly recommend.

Rusty, Mike and their team have taken good care of my 87 Jimmy and our 19 Tahoe. They are quick to get the work done, responsive, were able to do work covered by my warranty, and most importantly, honest.

I purchased a classic car from Rusty. I visited his shop several times and spent several hours there on each visit. Once I saw Rusty interact with his customers, I knew I was dealing with an honorable man. I have spent many years of my life in the automotive business and I know how it is supposed to be done. Rusty shares my principles as to how to treat his customers and how to run a business in today's climate. He listened to each customer and you could tell the customers trusted their car to Rusty's group of technicians. The business world needs more people like Rusty.

Notified the owner prior to having our car dropped off there that another mechanic took the radiator out, an put us on hold to fix it, we we re bringing it to them if they could take care of it and the old parts would be in the back seat, the owner said no problem then the following week called and ask for the money on Monday, he s was told the car would be picked up on Friday and to go head and fixed anything else that was wrong, long story short they sent over a bill and no work was done on the car at all saying it had to be paid prior to starting work, what kind of shop wants to get paid before they fix your car, so called on Friday to learn nothing was done, and on Monday Rusty sent notice saying he was going to charge us 35.00 per day starting the day we had it dropped off if we didn t bring him the money before he fixed the car total rip off. Stay away folks

Unfortunately had a water pump and timing chain done by almar last year around this same time .Was told by the ford dealership this mechanic shop put aftermarket parts on my car not original parts from them and now not even a year later I m having to do the same repair is cost me 2600$ to repair I have a family of 6 that depend on me. rusty told me he could do the repair but the warranty want cover it because of how many miles I drive. I also called advance and autozone and they told me all water pumps have 2 year or lifetime warranty I feel I just gt over on only thing I can do is leave this review hope it helps others

I came to the shop for three services to be performed on my truck. The services were oil change, tire rotation, and NC safety and inspection. I was charged for all three, but the tires were not rotated. How do I know? The rear right tire was painted with a blotch of white paint, so I could tell if the tire was moved to another location on the truck. When I got home I remembered to check. No rotation. Was the oil really changed? I will never know, but I must assume it wasn't. Years ago my father told me that service stations sometimes cheat their unsuspecting customers by not actually rotating tires, but charging for the service as if it was performed. Well, service stations aren't around anymore, but the practice still continues in auto shops.This is in response to the owner's reply to my review. The review is definitely about your shop. You were not able to find any record of it because your employee misspelled my name and address. A photo of the bill is attached to prove this is true. I do not want to contact you or be contacted by you. Trust has been broken. Nothing you say or do will convince me to come to your shop again.One more thing - a Costco discount was applied to my invoice as requested, but the clerk told me that Costco discounts for oil changes and tire rotation are not part of the Costco discount program. That fact should be noted on the Costco discount voucher. I will let Costco know.Services: Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Great place to have vehicles serviced. Honest and fair pricing. Before I sold my company, I used to have them work on my entire fleet. They always took care of our problems as fast as they could get the parts. Super reliable and always honest about what should be done to the vehicle. I highly recommend them. I haven t allowed any other shop to look at my car since my first visit to Almar, years ago. They have been truthful & transparent with me at every turn. I trust the service & professionalism at Almar and have never left the shop feeling dissatisfied. No matter the amount of work required, I can t recommend Almar enough!

I do not think the price is fair .They charge $300/per hour for labor fee !!!! and $150 /per hour for diagnostic test !!! Also not that nice to give me advises or options to save money . And I noticed he changed his attitude on his labors . Nothing wrong for him to do business and make money but if you want a realone who cares you and your car , I don t recommend to be there .Also a battery itself cost $240I recommend to call AAA to change a battery . They charge around $150 for a battery and no installment fee if you was a member .

My car had an unfortunate, unexpected issue. ALMAR took it on within an hour's notice. Workload permitting, they were able to take a look at it the same day and issue a quote for repair. They obtained the part as quickly as possible and performed the work in record time, finishing early, getting my car back on the road. Thank you, ALMAR!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I want to give a shout to to Rusty, Mike and the Almar crew for always taking care of my fleet of vans. We rely on our vans to be operational and on the road 24/7. Moved down to Charlotte earlier this year. First priority for me is always finding a good mechanic I can trust. I was recommended Almar by a friend and could not have gotten luckier. Great service, friendly customer relations, fair and honest pricing, and even the waiting room is awesome. If you are wary of mechanics like I am from bad interactions in the past, you have no worries with Almar!

I went here based on Google reviews that painted it in a very favorable light. Boy were they right. I was just going to get an alignment and I knew there was something pretty wrong with my drive train too. While they couldn't get the alignment done due to the other issue, they were able to find out what was wrong, and quickly. Not only was I not billed for the time (because I was coming back), they got the parts in and my car fixed the next morning. They were pleasant to deal with, easy to work with, and didn't try to do anything shady like I've dealt with at other shops. I was in, out, and on my way with a car that didn't shake like it was possessed in a few hours, and the repairs were very fairly priced. I will be using them in the future for any other repairs or inspections needed on my arthritic Camry.Service: Steering & suspension repair

This is an excellent place, the people are friendly and take the time to explain the repairs and their suggestions.I took my car in due to muffler noise. Initially they said they would have to replace the entire muffler, however after taking the part off the car, they saw that they could save me money by replacing only part of the part. They saved me several hundred dollars in repairs, without sacrificing repair quality.I will always be taking my cars to this shop.

I have been going to Almar for years. There are times I'll move out of the city and it is heart breaking knowing I don't have a trustworthy mechanic shop. I brought many vehicles for them to work on, but mostly the basics. If major work is needed, the pricing is decent. It's almost dealership work, with no dealership price. When work is completed on your vehicle, they will let you know the status and future maintenance if needed.
