My daughter took her vehicle to this facility for repair . She explained the issues she was having with the transmission. She also expressed how the vehicle was older with a lot of miles and felt that the vehicle would not be worth paying more than $2000 for the repair and requested an estimate. They called her and told her the vehicle needed engine repairs not transmission at the cost of $1200. Trusting in this facility and not being a mechanic she allowed the repair. She later received a call saying some additional Items were needed and it was now going to cost $1800. Due to the fact that she was already in $1200 she felt she had no other choice but to ok the $1800. After receiving a call saying the repair was complete she arrived to find the bill was $2100 of which she paid. While attempting to drive the car home she immediately found that the vehicle still had the transmission issues she complained about initially. When she returned to the repair facility she met with the MGR and the proceeded to go for a ride together. They then took the vehicle back in the shop diagnosed it and told her the vehicle had a " intermittent " transmission issue and the cost of the repair could be as high as $3500. It appears to me after hearing what was said by my daughter and what the MGR told me they addressed the obvious issues without addressing the complaint. The MGR told me the vehicle was in rough shape and had a lot of issues which would require extensive repairs ($$). I then asked why they didn't recommend that she might look to replace the car since she expressed to them in the beginning she felt the that the vehicle was old was not worth that much money. The MGR then told me that they don't do that. At that time I realized that they fix cars and don't sell them so it is my conclusion that if you want a fair assessment and a proper diagnosis of your vehicle, including whether or not a vehicle is worth the repair this would not be the place to take it.

Over the last few months I ve taken my car here several times for mainly tire related issues. They have always taken great care of my car here & are incredibly friendly. I couldn t be happier to have a reliable shop in town to go to!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenanceServices: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

I have always had great service here. Much better pricing than other shops. They gave me 3 different options when it came to getting new tires which I appreciated because it allowed me to choose what price was best for me. They usually have a full schedule but if they are available they make great work and time of whatever you need done. I believe it's woman owned and operated which is pretty awesome considered there isn't much women in this field. I've never had any issues with their work. So overall I'd say this place is great. If you're lucky enough to get Cathy to work on your vehicle, you know you're getting top quality work done.

I ve had multiple experiences over the past few years where I ve been quoted for problems with my car by this company and have gone elsewhere to discover that there was no problem. It saddens me to say that in my experience, this mechanic is not trustworthy.

This was my very first time coming to this shop and I was very impressed! Mrs Cathy helped me out tremendously with renting a Uhaul every step of the way. I was extremely overwhelmed and she helped me trade in the smaller one I got to a much needed larger one with no attitude and was extremely professional. I had called the shop many times with different questions and she took the time without rushing me to answer each and every single one of them. I came out of the shop feeling like a true valued customer and was treated with much respect! Great customer service and friendly workers there! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for exceptional good rates and who will treat you like a human being without ripping you off!! A very good place to take care of your vehicle needs. Mrs Cathy you re awesome and made my day a whole lot better!!! Thank you for everything!!!!

I sent my daughter here to get a 4 wheel alignment on my car for a very good price! The customer service is excellent, each time I called the lady that answered was very pleasant and helpful. In fact, she told me they would do my alignment on Saturday after stating that they did just minor things, such as just put on tires and etc, but they was willing to do my alignment. That shows how they put their customers first! Good customer service is hard to find now a days but we found it here at Triangle Tires!!!! We will be back. Thank you

The service that my husband and I received is AWFUL. We spent 45 minutes at this establishment trying to get the uhaul we rented for this weekend. Before even that, we had to call several times with conflicting answers being thrown at us. We don t have the equipment we ordered to help us move and they did not disclose that until we were there picking up the vehicle. They didn t even know which vehicle we were supposed to be in. This is the most disorganized and unprofessional experience I ve had in a long time. I am very angry and this entire situation has cost us valuable time on an important weekend. I would NOT recommend them. The owner did wake up and help us on the phone outside of business hours and we do appreciate that.

I brought in two vehicles for inspections yesterday and saw at least 3 others doing the same. You know how most places start talking about how next time you're going to have to do the breaks or some other expensive maintenance? I had that same experience last year at one of the big chains, but that big chain was lying because I had recently had the work done that they said I'd need to do next time. It's why I went to a new place. Triangle tires didn't try to pull that. They didn't tell anyone having inspections that "next time you'll need to do X", and I believe it's because it wasn't needed. They aren't trying to pad the bill.BTW, inspection costs are set by the state so those big places are probably losing money compared to more expensive services and need the higher cost work to make it pencil out for their bottom line. When I called around this week to other bigger places they said if that's all the work I was needing done it'd be at least a week.A quick note on the other lower reviews. I believe that Triangle tires will try to find the lowest cost solution (they're doing used tires as an example), and sometimes that doesn't work out well. People who are trying to do low cost solutions are often at the end of their financial rope and when it doesn't work out it feels like being cheated (I know I'd feel that way). I haven't had a long relationship with them, but it's off to a great start for me.

Hard working good people.9/19/19 Edit: Was sold this tire as Good for my trailer. Paid $75 for two and were not balanced , would not hold air overnight. Went to shop and told it was the rim. This tire belonged in the dump not on ANY vehicle. I got ripped off.I was a good customer, brought all of my vehicles there and recommended them to friends. That is over now.

Helpful friendly folks doing a great job here! We rented a uhaul and had a great experience. We also watched them work with some other customers and were impressed with their level of service and their kindness. Plus they had a great sense of humor! A great business to support!

Really helpful at the front desk. They spent a lot of time trying to help me figure out what to do. After going in twiceand wasting more of their time, I ended up not buying anything. They were still smiling and told me they would even install the tires for me if I bought them somewhere else. Incredible these days to find some one helpful and pleasant without investing any money!!!! I felt guilty they were so nice. Guy doing installation seemed not to be as friendly... Good luck, but yes, would recommend them for sure!

Very professional and kind service. I called and they accommodated my need to repair my vehicle asap. I was there for 1 hr after arriving. I was also given a thorough explanation of what was done and even told I didn't need an additional service as of yet after I added it to be completed. I really appreciate their honesty, I definitely reccomend them and would go back.

I had fantastic service and the prices were reasonable at Triangle Tire! Great auto shop in town for UNC undergraduates and graduate students! Got 2 used tires, a State inspection, an oil change, and they checked my check engine light for just over $100. Went originally to an auto shop in downtown Carrboro. They were going to charge me easily over $600. Then, this place was recommended to me by a maintenance company where I work. They told me they use Triangle Tires and Auto for all of their work vehicles. Glad I asked for a recommendation. No hassle coming into the shop and were very patient with me. The owner, Gina and the rest of the staff are wonderful. Students please go here.

I've been bringing my cars or van here for as long as they have been in business, originally because of location (less than a 5 min walk from my house) then continued because of the great service they have provided me. From dealing with the unique needs of an after market van adjusted for wheel chair access to keeping my classic 1991 Peugeot running great and finding fixes not usually dealt with at most repair shops, like installing a new stereo system. Friendly and commited to quality work at a fair price.... highly recommended!

Today was my 4th visit to Triangle Tires. Every time I've had great service that is both fast and efficient. The entire team working here is experienced and treats their customers like family. The personal service from Gina (the owner) and Kathy (at the front desk) is something that is quite rare in the world of car repair. Highly recommend!

The good news is that these ladies are very nice and that is the reason for two stars...I would only give one for quality of repairs. I bought tires for my truck with no issues......However..... anything more than changing tires I would not trust at this shop. My daughters car was leaking coolant, took it up to the shop, was told it was the water pump, and paid about $300.00 for replacement. A week later, the coolant leak still there. I took it to Ford dealership for diagnosis, and it was the radiator. Paid for radiator, but still didn't bother them for the water pump, as it could have been leaking as well, its a fairly old car so, I try to give the benefit of the doubt to this place. Well..... in the meantime, what we thought was the power steering started to squeal, and car had loose steering. Yet again, took it up there and was told there was a leak in power steering pump, and car would not pass inspection without replacement, in addition, was told the car needed alignment. Paid another $400-$500 for replacement power steering pump and alignment, squealing continued and so did the loose steering. At this point, I just took the car to the dealership, giving up on this place. My daughter is driving this car back and forth from college. At the dealership, they said the squealing was the belt (that was replaced with water pump) and the power steering pump that was replaced was not installed correctly causing wear on the new belt, and was causing the squealing. In addition, the loose steering was caused by the inner and outer tie rods. They also verified there was NO WAY they could have aligned the car due to rusty bolts on the tie rod ends. So basically, they just charged for alignment they did not do. Had to repay 300.00 to dealership to fix belt and adjust the power steering pump, and $700.00 for tie rod and sway bar replacement. In addition.... the water pump was leaking AGAIN, due to faulty part AND not sealed gasket. Mad as fire, I contacted the shop about getting a refund for the water pump... was told they can't refund warrantied parts unless THEY do the replacement repair! I would never allow them to touch this car again, as my belief is that they just inaccurately throw parts at the problem and hope for the best. I must mention also.... as they were doing the repairs, they called and said all these little things needed replacement, and want to charge full labor (instead of overlapping labor) on these small repairs!!! Even though the car was already torn apart and would take 5 mins to replace!!! I'm very sad it didn't work out, as this place is almost walking distance to my home, and I fully support minority and women owned businesses in this community. I feel my daughter (and I, since Mama had to come out of her pocket to help my college daughter) got totally ripped off here. I am somewhat of a YouTube mechanic myself, and I feel I could have done a better job than this place concerning repairs. We have literally had to fix all the "repairs" we had done here. Finally the car is safe to drive.

Bad experience to say the least. I used their services to replace my tires, but those same tires went flat in under two weeks. When attempting to replace those tires, 3 out of 5 nut-screws broke off of my vehicle due to their mechanic placing them on too tight. All 5 nut screws were brand new upon bringing my vehicle to this place of business. I absolutely do not recommend their services.

If less than one star was an option that would be my choice.Upon arriving at the Triangle Tire, was told it would take 15min and $35 for a replacement spare tire. We ended with, NO spare tire and more than $400 worth of damage, the police called, and myself passing out on the sidewalk because I have a chronic medical condition and the owner refused to let us pay for the spare or have our car off the lift for over 2 hours. The spare that they placed was originally zip tied under the car because they stripped the gears in the lift. The owner never once tried to handle the situation, the male Employee came out to bully my husband and myself. Everything is fully and well documented. Guess we will see them in court. I will go all over the county letting people know of the horrible experience I had here. The horrible customer service and the lack of knowledge they have to even change a replacement spare tire. Not to mention could have caused me to loose my life from preventing me to leave and recieve my medication and proper treatment for my condition!!!!!

Terrible place! I went for an inspection and they failed my 2016 car with tires less than a year old and told me I needed 4 new tires and to replace the struts on the front and back axles. $2000 of work. I went for a second opinion and my tires and struts were perfectly fine.

Edit: was sold a around $300) part that didn't function longer than a week. Went somewhere else and they said it was rebuilt. Haven't really gone back.Good service and pricing. Seems to be honest. Have given us good service on several of our vehicles. Recommend highly.

I was very disappointed with the treatment I received. I was charge four times what any other shop would charge to cut off a lug nut. I was told, that it was 30 minutes of labor. My entire visit was 43 minutes. That included Speaking with the mechanic. The mechanic handling someone else's issue (faulty tires sold the week before). Having a tire replaced. And, finally paying the bill. Am I to believe that all of this took 13 minutes, while cutting off one bolt took 30 minutes. I could hear the grinder from the waiting room. It may have run for 7 to 8 minutes. There are too many shops around, to go to one that I know is dishonest. You may have gained a few dollars, but you lost a customer.

yeah this place rules, I've been going here since I moved to Durham. If it tells you anything it's a 30 minute drive from my house and it's still worth the trek. If you need used tires they homie price them and they're always quality.

I have to say I'm pretty shocked and disappointed.I called Triangle Tires to see if they could help me with the rear view mirror in my car, which had fallen down. They said they needed me to bring it in to look at it, so I did. They said they could fix it, but said it was best to give it all day for the adhesive to set up. I ended up scheduling to drop off on Thursday afternoon and pick up the following afternoon so the adhesive could actually sit overnight, trying to optimize on their take on things. I asked for an oil change to be done while they had the car too, because why not.Come to pick up Friday - the car is not done and won't be done until 5pm. That..is not afternoon. No call from them, lady at desk said she said she was going to call me when it was ready. Ok, I don't remember that but whatever, I can't come back at 5pm as my ride isn't available then.Already I feel that maybe y'all should have called me to let me know it wasn't going to be done until five? You know, we discussed afternoon, maybe give me a heads up?I tell them let's just push it back until Saturday. They're only open 10-12 on Saturday, but that's another evening for whatever that needs to happen with the mirror to be done. They told me they had some difficulty due to the storm and lightning and I don't really know.Saturday at 10:20. I pull in with my ride again and there's someone in my car finishing up - its not 100% done. The mirror is not done. The woman behind the desk tells me they spent three hours on the mirror and couldn't get it to stick. She says she isn't going to charge me for it because she feels bad. That's...great? Am I supposed to feel grateful for them not charging me for a job they didn't actually do?I get into my car and the check oil sign still comes on. The mats on BOTH sides are dirty - one is damp from some sort of attempt at cleaning it and the other still has a large boot print. The actual glass has all kinds of adhesive nonsense all over it from them attempting to fix the mirror as does the mirror itself, now dried on and left there. Essentially I feel like my car is being given back to me in worse shape than when I left it with them.I go back inside to convey all these things to the lady behind the desk. There's still a line. I get into the line but she looks at me and asks me what I need. I come forward, upset, to start to try to tell her about what is going on and she asks me to calm down and mentions the line of people she has a few times. Lady, you engaged *me*. You asked *me* what I needed. I was happy to wait in the dang line and wait my turn and you try to make it out like I'm the one being rude. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me with me being there to pick up my car a whole day later an still having to wait because you could't even do the oil change properly, let alone track mud and dirt into the car??? I see you are busy, that's why I got into the line and didn't say anything. I saw you needed more time yesterday, that's part of why I suggested I come a whole day later to give you the time to get the job done.I really cannot with this place. From start to finish you have completely fallen short of even low expectations.

The ladies at Triangle Tire are awesome! We purchased a set of used tired for under $200. Ended up with Michelins that had 80% tread life. Very nice. Very fair and trustworthy!

Rented a Uhaul from this place. They closed 2 hours before the stated time and converted my rental to a self service pickup without warning or notification. When we arrived, no one was there to explain what to do. A woman drove up, told us to call uhaul about it and then left. The lockbox containing the key to our truck was unlocked and we are lucky our uhaul wasn't stolen before we could get it.

Take your money and car somewhere else! I ve had to repeatedly come back to this shop because they couldn t get the job done the first time. They do the least amount of work and end up over charging. Their main goal is to have a reason for you to keep fixing your car with them. Spent almost 1000 on an exhaust over the past few months. They recently told me it was bad the whole time and I should ve replace it from the start. Yeah a little too late after I was told the car was fixed the first couple of times.
