What can I say? These guys were my guardian angels yesterday. I was up the street and when I got out of my car heard a loud noise and realized it was air leaking out of my tire at a fast rate. I quickly googled and found P & A Smith Auto. I immediately called and spoke to Eric. They took care of me quickly and effectively. While I know it ended up just being a tire plug, you can tell they care about their customers and know what they are doing. Had a good chat with the owner and felt like I gained a new friend and shared stories with a fellow business owner. We always like to support small businesses and wouldn't hesitate to go there again!

I took my Volvo in for one thing and wouldn't you know 5 other things needed attention. My issues were sorted and resolved with great frustration of my mechanic. Would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a trusted mechanic esp Volvo oriented.

I had a wonderful experience at P & A Smith Auto Repair. I needed brake work and an oil change, and they provided both at a fair price. Their car drop-off service was convenient, and they reached out promptly the next day. Their communication was excellent, offering options and estimates before starting the work. Been going to P&A Smith for over 20 years with various volvos and other vehicles. You don't do this unless you have total trust in a business. They have my complete trust and have earned it many times.

Fantastic mechanic shop. Have brought my car here for well over 10years and they've always done a fantastic job and will let you know if a repair or treatment can wait and don't try to sell you services you don't want nor need. We used P&A for all our automotive services when we had a Volvo, Mazda, and a VW. Over time those cars were replaced by three Toyotas (2004 Matrix, 2008 Tundra, 2016 Prius) and it became more convenient (if somewhat more expensive) to take them all to the nearer Toyota dealer.When I took the Matrix to the dealership for its NC state inspection I was surprised to hear that it failed due to "leaking steering pump return line", and that replacing all three lines (along with a long-known leaking valve cover gasket) would amount to a major fraction of the worth of the car. The dealership wouldn't clear the block on the state inspection until it was repaired.I took it to P&A and not only did they diagnose that the problem was really only the leaking valve cover gasket (which took some effort to discern) but P&A's estimate to replace the gasket was half that of the dealership. Plus, but they worked it into the next day's schedule. Clint was very accommodating!As a result, we will be taking the Matrix and the Tundra to P&A from now on. (The Prius still has a little warranty left.) Very highly recommended!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I moved here 8 years ago & P&A Smith is the only place I go to take care of my Infiniti! They are honest, professional & always give the best service. I know nothing about cars so I completely rely on them to take care of my car, which they do. P&A Smith is great. Their pricing is fair and honest. They never try to pressure us into services we don't need. The work they do is quality and they bend over backwards to make sure they keep you as a customer. We bring all our cars here now, even though they are not Volvos. My experience with PA smith was absolutely great. The water pump went out on my Volvo, I called PA Smith, they had it in the shop that morning and called me that evening to pick up. Very professional, very fast and excellent guys to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a Volvo.

They are the only people that I trust to work on my Volvo after having a bad experience at the Volvo dealership!! They re great at what they do and don t try sell you services that you don t need. They were able to change the timing belt on my car with short notice so that I felt confident taking it on a road trip. They are my go to for all services for my car!

All I can say is that 5 stars aren t enough for P&A Smith. I have been visiting them for the last 15 years. They are the best auto maintenance/repair business that I would ever use and would feel comfortable leaving my car with. They always go above and beyond with customer satisfaction as well as making sure my car is 100% perfect. Clint always makes sure to be very thorough with me with any questions I might have. After being price-gouged for years at the dealership, we had P&A recommended to us and have use them exclusively for over a decade. We go to them for all our car needs. If they don't have the expertise they have a large network of vendors who can take care of your needs. We love the fact that they are so easy to work and will always call you back. They are on-time with doing the work and get the cars back to us when they say they will. First, let me say I appreciate the team that works here! Every experience that I have had so far has been nothing less than perfection. Last year, I had to purchase a new vehicle. I contacted my regular shop and to this day have not received a call back(don t think I need one! ) I called P&A Smith Auto and asked could I bring the car I wanted to purchase to them to have it looked over it was a resounding yes, without hesitation. Needless to say it was a little money well spent, and I love my car! I ve asked for quotes and ways to take care of my car and this team did not disappoint! They even helped me sign up for a maintenance app so I can have a history of maintenance readily available at all times. It s one thing to be a customer needing work done to a car...it s another to be informed about your vehicle every step of the way and treated with respect. I appreciate their efficiency and workmanship! So glad I found them!

Just want to mirror all of the other positive reviews given to P&A. I've taken my Volvo, Ford and even my Jeep to them and the are 100% honest and provide high quality repairs. When they can't help, they recommend other quality services nearby. P&A is my first go to garage.

Hands down the best auto mechanics in the region. Honest - Affordable - Polite - Competent. I drive the extra miles just to get the peace of mind needed and great work done on my Corolla. Cale and Clint do a great job helping me out!

Excellent! Quick service. My engine light was on when I arrived and now its off. My car is running like it was when I originally bought it. The quotes were accurate and I wasn t pressured into buying services I didn t need. The mechanic was honest from the beginning and called to discuss the progress. I am not a car person , and I do so appreciate the professionalism & communication skills of the staff at P&A Smith. Any issues they find are explained so I can understand what s going on. If nothing is wrong with my 20 yo Volvo, they tell me that too! I have always been very satisfied with the quality of their work. Highly recommend them!Services: Electrical, Brakes, Oil change

We have been taking our Volvo and Honda to P&A Smith since we moved to NC five years ago. Work is consistently excellent. The best indicator of quality is how few problems our cars actually have. We let P&A Smith do the routine maintenance and they keep running properly. Our cars are 13 and 10 years old respectively and both work beautifully.

I ve been coming to P&A Smith for past several years after a particularly bad experience with another well known Lexus place in Cary. Everyone here is very professional with great communication.On my last visit, in addition to addressing my check engine light, I asked them to replace engine and cabin air filters. I also asked them if they can find an extra screw for my engine air filter housing since I noticed that one screw was missing last year when I replaced the engine air filter myself. My car being of Japanese origin, it s a pain to find the right metric screw :)When I went to pick up the car, Clint reminded me that the engine air filter was reusable and was barely dirty. Not only they didn t replace it, they put 2 new matching screws on the engine air filter housing for me. It was a great reminder of honesty and extra service that bring me back to P&A Smith whenever I need some work done to keep my elderly car driving smooth.

Always such exceptional service! The guys at P&A Smith always go above and beyond! On my last visit, one of the service techs advised that it was time for me to purchase new tires. He took the time (at closing time!!), to demonstrate how to measure tire tread. As always, I'm so appreciative of P&A Smith's attention to detail and exceptional customer service!

NOT RECOMMENDEDI wish I could give this place a good review. They came semi-recommended from a friend but I can't say that I had even a decent experience outside of the fact that they did the work they said they were going to do. I drive a Volvo and they claimed to work on them.I brought my car in for a specific issue, noted in detail the issues I was having and what actions led to the issue.THEY CHARGED ME $400 TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS+ANOTHER $200 TO REPLACE MY AIR FILTER (this was my request, but astronomical pricing) and they kept my car for TWO DAYS TO DO THIS AND IT DIDN'T REPAIR THE ISSUE.They charged my $600 to give me my car back in pretty much the same state that I gave it to them. Generally when a mechanic doesn't fix the issue and they fix something that didn't need to be fixed, they will only charge you for the part and not the labor.Afterwards, I went to my usual mechanic (Brian from Village Motor Works-- you will see he already has stellar reviews and he just opened up his new shop. He used to be at Harrison Automotive where I went for 5 years). Out of curiosity, I asked for quotes on the same work that P&A Smith did and he quoted me about $300 less than they did. So half the price.After not having any success with repair at P&A Smith, and being $600 poorer, I brought my car to Brian at Village Motor Works and he diagnosed the issue and repaired it in about an hour and only charged my half an hour of labor and didn't charge me for the part.My only experience with P&A Smith was terrible. Would not advise anyone to go to them.

I had a lingering engine/fuel problem for 2+ years. I took my Volvo to several Volvo dealers and none could identify or solve the problem. I accidently stumbled across P&A Smith Auto. Within a week's time, they properly diagnosed and fixed my car. My car is running great and I no longer am considering selling my car. I've taken my Volvo to P&A since -- they always do great work at a fair price.Service: Tires
