My son was visiting when the variable timing belt started resetting on his GMC vehicle. After contacting a couple of places he talked to Firehouse and let them know he needed to leave on the weekend. We brought in the vehicle on Monday, expecting (hoping) they could finsh it by Saturday. Tuesday they called and pointed out a few more (expected) items that would also need to be fixed. Wednesday they were finished.The staff was friendly, honest, and quite busy. My son tells me the price was in line with his expectations and there was no attempt at extras.Overall I am comfortable recommending Firehouse auto. As a side note one of the other local shops my son called said they wouldn't fix the issue, but would just replace the engine.

Had a small mix up with two very similar vehicles, which led to an accidental bill swap.No matter, as the owner handled it incredibly professionally, was very apologetic, and cut me a check to mend the mistake!Got the appropriate work done on my car, they were also able to work with me to ensure my vehicle passed inspection :)Cecil is the GOATFYI to new customers: Make sure you call in or schedule in person, bottom line, speak to someone.

Long overdue review here. I love coming here. People leaving negative reviews don't seem to appreciate Cecil's straightforward and candid honesty. He will do anything he can to follow procedure and state guidelines, while also saving you money. He doesn't beat around the bush, tells you like it is, and clearly communicates what your options are. I find it refreshing. This is a trait that isn't shared by every auto mechanic!Thanks to the Firehouse crew for all the great upkeep you've given me on my vehicles.

Took my car here for repairs to pass the NC emissions inspection. They did what they needed to and it will pass now! (And even if it wouldn't pass without a huge investment, they had everything ready to help get registered if it didn't pass). I was very impressed and plan on coming back to keep my car running (it's 12 years old and paid off). They are busy and you may have to wait a while to talk to someone- it's a small ma-and-pop operation- so if you are impatient beware. The owner is direct and to the point which is appreciated, too.

Been a customer for 8 yrs with our 4 cars and have always gotten a fair price with work done efficiently, but I'm done there. I had them check the battery and frozen lock and they called to authorize a charge of $420 to change the battery, $120 of which was a battery check. I could've taken it to a local auto parts store to replace battery for $200 with no charge for the battery check. Looking back I should have demanded a written quote, but trusted them since they've always done an honest job for the work performed without one. I've always endured the substandard customer service, but feel robbed and cannot give them my business any longer. Buyer beware.

Just bad phone service. Was asking about an oil cap replacement and the person answering the phone made zero effort to give me information about cost and availability of the part. I even gave the make and model of my car. Do not recommend due to bad service.

I just got my NC inspection done today. The process was smooth took only about 25-30 minutes. The staffs were professional asked for registration card and keys and good to go. Thanks for the quick check.

Looking for a Mechanic shop? STOP! this place is a representation of the true mechanic shop that you have in your home town. no chains, no gimmicks just grease and parts. They have practically re put my old 2005 truck back together again with FAIR, HONEST, FANTASIC WORK! don't fall for shine store front or sales and deals. get it right the first time at a fair price. DONT go any where else! Great JOB Firehouse Auto!!

I almost never leave reviews places, in fact I don't know if I ever had, but I had a terrible experience and needed to share. I went in for an oil change and diagnostics because my check engine light was on. The service itself was fine, no complaints there, it took them an hour and a half to do both. But I'm not a car guy and just wanted an explanation of things going wrong, they charged $75 for just running the code, talked down to me and wouldn't take two seconds to explain what was going wrong. All he told me was my oil was low and my transmission was slipping, no suggestions for what to fix and was already calling up the next guy while I was trying to ask about it. They also put the wrong milage on my oil change sticker which isn't the biggest deal but just annoying. I could've just gone to advance auto parts and got my codes run for free, would not reccomend.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Bad customer service, went there for rear brake adjustments/emergency brake calibration front hub/bearing replacement Front job was done right. but the brakes NO. On the other hand I received my car with a Dent on the door. I complained to them and took an aggressive attitude. I gave them the option to calm down. There were enough witnesses and cameras around me in case he thought of attacking me. I was able to handle the situation. The owner proceeded to see the cameras realizing that one of his clients crashed my car. Anyway, I don't recommend them. I arrived with a problem and left worse off.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

I had my car inspected there recently. the location is very convenient, and they kept the promise to complete the inspection in 45 minutes.But my car was very dirty when picked up. Both tires/wheels on passenger side are fully of mud. And it was a sunny day. Not sure what happened.I would not say the service was rude, but it was at least cold.They charge $40 for inspection, but addition 3% if you pay with credit card.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Honest mechanics are hard to find and when you do you DONT LET GO. I won t ever let go of firehouse. Even after I moved I drive 30 miles to go here even for a simple inspection. They are the best at everything they do and even service my Audi with no question or difficulty.

Fastest Inspection within approximately 18 minutes of parking my car. Had called ahead of time on a Friday evening at 3:45 and was asked to come immediately which worked out perfectly for me. A+ recommended. No hassles inspection done, a very happy customer here.Another year: 2023 - Smooth inspection for this year as well, no hassle. PLEASE listen to the negative reviews. I usually read the reviews prior to visiting anywhere. This time, I did not and paid the price.Do not come here. Firstly, the customer service sucks. I called and received an attitude. My fianc� went to the store and also received the same attitude while in person. Then, they required us to provide a copy of our registration in order to get an inspection. Which would have been fine but we called other stores that conduct state inspections and no registration required. This is the only store that requires a copy of your registration? If you all discriminate against black people, please just be transparent about it.Do not come here. Just go to Jiffy Lube or Firestone. Anywhere but here. It is 2023. If you represent a business and cannot respect ALL individuals, do not have a business.07.01.2023- Edit:In response to this agency s response to my review, I d like to add that I spoke with a representative from NCDOT who informed me that individuals are NOT required to present a copy of registration prior to obtaining an inspection.To add, why would I present my registration if the registration is EXPIRED? That is why I need to inspection, hello! I have never been denied service due to not presenting a copy of my EXPIRED registration.With that being said, I went to Fast Lube in Morrisville immediately after being denied service here. Inspection done in 15 minutes. All of the comments about having a positive experience here are not true. Just continue to read.I hate low quality service. It is 2023. We all deserve to be treated appropriately.

This place is completely a joke!!!! Clueless, unprofessional and rude.I sent my car several month ago for an emission test, and they give me an inspection instead which I never requested. So I have to send my car to them twice and addressed as my plate is registered in another state, I need emission test ONLY!!! But a while later they called me in a rude manner telling me my car's driver side tint is too dark, they cannot pass!Okay, first of all, everything with my car is OUT OF FACTORY!!! Not even a bolt is changed and modified and I never got any trouble within the past five years that I own this car and I stayed in other states as well!Secondly, if this is true, why the hack you guys can give me a pass in the first time inspection??!!!All these lead to a conclusion, they have no idea what they are doing and how they should do it.Stop wasting your money, find another place!

Scheduled appointment due to a Check Engine Light being on. Arrived and explained that I replaced the part identified by Auto Zone based on the OBDII code but light still on. Most places wanted to charge me $150 to run diagnostics again. Not here! He said let me reset the system and if it comes back on then return. Employees, cashier and mechanics are all unfriendly, rude and mean. This place has ZERO customer service.It is very clear they either hate their job and/or their customers.This is the first time I went to this place for my car's annual NC emissions inspection; I have no plans to go back to this garage in the future.

It used to be a good place. We've been bringing our family cars there for years, but after the last service I have to give a bad review, and we don't plan to go there anymore. First - we were told to bring our vehicle on a Wednesday afternoon, and once we got there we were told to turn around as they would not be able to perform the service that day, because they were busy, so I guess that is just poor planning on their end. Second, we dropped a clean car, but they parked it on a muddy place on the opposite side of Carpenter Fire Station Rd., that got the sidewalls of both right side tires muddied and unsightly, now they need to be washed. Third and worst issue, when we dropped the car off it was driving perfectly and quietly, but when we got it back a right rear air deflector plastic piece was half broken and strongly rubbing against the tire, creating a loud and noticeable noise, that was not there before. We would never drive a car with that loud noise. My wife turned around and went back to the shop immediately to and complain about it, just to hear that "they didn't do it," - I don't know what kind a magic happened to break that plastic piece and wedge it against the tire: a misplaced car lift arm, a misplaced jack? They ran over something? The fact is that now I have a lose plastic piece that we had to force away from the tire so we could drive. For that alone I would give zero stars, but that is not possible.Service: Oil change

I paid $1100 to fix the engine warning light. It took them 3 days to fix 3 parts. But the warning light still came up in my car. At the end i wasted 3 days and a lot of money. If you need to fix something simple such as oil change you can go to this shop, but if you have a big problem, you should go to another shopService: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Everyone that I've spoken with at Firehouse is very honest and reliable. They will only do the work that you ask them to do, and they have always given me their honest advice about my car, which is especially appreciated for an old beater vehicle. This is a great place for any vehicle type and I've never had any problems getting work done at a reasonable price

Brought in my sister's 4runner for the alternator to be replaced. They were friendly and finished the repair same day. I 100% recommend going here. We are repeat customers and go there for everything we need. Prices are reasonable and work is top notch!

Made an appointment for a check-up over a wheel-bearing concern I had. Took less than an hour. Group of great mechanics that genuinely care about the safety of the customers, as well as the reliability of the vehicle. As I waited to pick up my car, I overheard some mechanics talking about another vehicles issue and could tell they were trying everything they could to keep their work quality high while still providing best cost to the customer, while ensuring the vehicle is safe on the road.

My experience with Cecil and Firestation Auto Repair has been absolutely Superb every time Cecil has worked upon my car .. and that has been at least 8x over the last 5 to 6 years !My experience has been A plus !! Every time !Cecil is 100% honest and he is diligent in his efforts to help his customers !If , for some reason , an automobile problem is out of his comfort zone .. he will share that data with the client .My suspicion , of those who have found him wanting in any manner or form ,is that they either expected miracles or they expected him to rescue their un- maintained vehicle from years of willful neglect !He IS the absolute best and my praise has no limits .Sincerely ,Ronald W. Outstanding customer service! They fit both my cars in on a Saturday and had both done before noon! After spending 2 hours at Hendrick Kia to get a 15K service on a lease, I left without the state inspection they were also supposed to do because I would be late for work. I had a horrible experience with the service advisor there and still needed an inspection. Cecil at Firehouse Auto saved the day! Can t recommend them enough.Service: Oil change
