This shop is great! They do a very thorough inspection regardless of the original reason for bringing in your vehicle. This helps develop a detailed history with pictures and notes that make tracking your car s needs over the course of time very easy. They take as much time as needed to explain in detail everything going on with your car and are patient with all questions. They are understanding of individual circumstance as well. Just good and helpful people who are very kind and good at their job!

I came in with a serious transmission issue a few months ago- I was having issues accelerating, backing up- typical transmission stuff. Yeargan's auto told me they didn't know what I was talking about and the car drove fine to them. They said 3 employees even drove my car. I took it to Apex Transmission Shop a few days later and my card blew a P09 code or something- basically saying my transmission was failing. They also said it was very clear from a test drive what was wrong. Between not checking for codes and not being able to see the clear transmission issue, I did not have a good experience here.

Cannot recommend Yeargan's highly enough. I had so many places tell me they couldn't/wouldn't work on my car, but I chanced upon Yeargan's and they were so helpful, quick, and thorough. I'm based in Durham, but it was well worth taking my car to Carrboro for them to do the work.

I do my own light work and basic maintenance on my truck but when I can t reach the job Yeargens does it and has been doing it for almost a year now.Very professional and whether you like the answer or not they re gonna be straightforward with you.I ve had people come to me saying that they ve gone somewhere else because of the prices yet they end up going back to get the same work done twice and paid double the cost .Amazing mechanics that know their stuff and will take the time to explain everything to you from A-to-Z in a manner where you would understand it and that s how I like it done.The service advisor? Brandi? amazing, she pretty much goes into details on the job and has a way of just making your day brighter before you leave the shop and that can make a difference in someone s day and decisions.Management? Kenny? Easy to talk to And understands every situation under the sun.The owner s? Theylook out for his/her customers.Would I go back to Yeargens even with inflation affecting everyone? Yes because I want the job done right the The first time and leave with a good peace of mind plus their service in every aspect is top notch.Signing off, A-Rod

Purchased a 2002 Honda accord. They replaced the actuator and two valve cover gaskets. They took before and after pictures of the leaks. Who does that? I have two vehicles Brian, Kenny, Brandy and the guys are awesome. If you have doubts about finding a shop, give them a chance. You will be glad you did.Skip

My Chevy Silverado suffered MAJOR critter damage, and needed a new wiring harness. Wiring harnesses were on backorder nationwide. Kenny tracked one down, handled all the details inc with my insurance and I knew my beloved truck was in good hands. Now to keep those squirrels away!!!

I'm so glad to have these folks helping my horses and me stay safe. The thorough inspection performed with every visit has saved me from breaking down which would be a nightmare when pulling the horse trailer. They're quick to respond when help is needed and I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

The kindness, generosity and friendliness of Yeargan s Top Notch Automotive can t be beat. I had a few extra minutes this morning and stopped by at Hatley s Body Shop to ask whether they could install my car s sun visor, as they have done a great job with my car in the past. Hatley s recommended I reach out to the folks at Yeargan s as they wouldnot be able to get it to it for a few weeks. I walked in and was greeted with incredibly friendly staff, who offered to help right away, and in minutes, the visor had been installed. The mechanic was also friendly and helpful. I asked how much it would be and they said - it did not take long - and didn t charge me. Nothing. Free. Nada.In a world run by money, I am in awe of their philosophy, their practices, and their work.

Friendly, down to earth, and non-intimidating. Nice to be able to go some place where they work WITH you as opposed to places that act like you're an idiot. Maybe I am an idiot, but they didn't make me feel that way. Most of all trust-worthy.

GREAT STAFF AND SERVICE! I needed a couple trim pieces installed on a VW Passat. The VW dealer (where I purchased the parts) said they couldn't get to it for a couple weeks. Two other auto repair places also said they couldn't help -- it was admittedly a small job, probably not worth it for them. I went to Yeargan's on a friend's recommendation and am very happy I did. Kenny said no problem and set up an appointment for the next morning. In the time it took to have a coffee across the street, they had the work completed. Highly recommend. These techs are knowledgeable, communicative, fair, and pretty fast. I'm just a traveler in and out of the area, but if I return, I'd come back here and make this regular shop in a heartbeat.

As a connoisseur of a particular vintage of vehicle not quite old enough to be classic, but plenty old to be cheap, I ve spent a lot of time dealing with auto shops. The experience I just had with Yeargan s is hands down the best I ve ever seen. Kenny, who did most of the communicating, was excellent. He was sure to provide me detailed explanations of everything going on in a timely manner and is one of the few people I ve actually felt listened to my concerns about my truck. I ve also found it a rarity to have someone actually capable of talking about these things and doing the work available at the desk to answer questions. I didn t speak much with Bryan, the owner, but from the few words we exchanged I felt 100% comfortable trusting his shop with my beloved truck. Very timely turnaround too. 10/10 experience, Yeargan s will now be my go to shop in the triangle area.

I owe this place a fair review for my experience. It was mixed and balanced. I appreciate the profesionalism of the staff here.Disclaimer: this review isn't meant to be bashing or negative on the business. Its just my experience for those who're planning to come here.This place has its right to run its business and charge at its own pricing.I liked the high reviews of this business and went for a quick appointment check for my vehicle on my work break (I'm not from Chapel Hill), but my vehicle died on the parking lot nearby it. They brought my vehicle in for an electrical system analysis check, by the way. I had already called twice and made sure they know I was coming over. The electrical analysis would be $85 as mentioned on the phone. The vehicles annual maintenance check should be less than at. I was charged over $300 for this unfortunate visit. I didn't want to debate about the pricing too much since my vehicle is in their property. If the owner can bring can remind me or give me am appropriate response back to me again on this review why the charge was so much for doing something as little as a maintenance check and an electrical analysis done and charged my battery with the broken alternator running (No big repairs was given ahead). That would be much appreciated!Maintenance report:The vehicle needs three replacements, a water pump, a thermostat, and a new alternator. They put a whopping total over four grand! That's enough for a used car! I understood the fact that they use a program that will guarantee me service that I don't need to pay for. I turned it down. Paid for what was owed and took the vehicle to another repair shop for less than half the quoted price from here!I just went on my day.Services: Electrical, Vehicle maintenance, Battery

I highly recommend this auto repair shop and have been there multiple times. They have incredible customer service and are some of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of interacting with. Every time I have brought my car to be serviced, they have always been honest and given a fair price. On one occasion, there was some type of miscommunication and I waited for several hours, only to be told they couldn't finish the job before the agreed upon time. I needed to bring my car back the following day (which unfortunately just happened to be my birthday) and they waived the oil change fee for me. On a separate occasion, I had work done but the car was still having issues after I brought it back home. I brought it back, they fixed the remaining issue without charge, and lent me a loaner car for several days. This was a lifesaver. I couldn't be more grateful and thankful that they are my mechanic! Excellent, quick and professional service at fair prices. You will be hard pressed to find a better mechanic in Chapel Hill. Communication is done by text and is extremely transparent, with an itemized bill presented for your approval before any work is done. Yeargen s absolutely deserves to be called top notch

I had to have my car repaired while traveling home from Raleigh and as a female that has been taken advantage of by a dealership mechanic i was so nervous, anxious and skeptical. The gentleman here were so kind and thorough and they took time to educate me and talk to me, to take pictures and videos and to show me things that need to be fixed, things the dealership said they replaced and didnt and honestly they could ve recommended that I fix several thousand dollars worth of additional things but they told me what they were and that those things could wait. Their main concern was getting me back on the road to my family. That gave me so much respect for them to do that. My daughter lives in Raleigh and I am about 4 hours away but i plan to have all my mechanic work done here during my visits!!Service: Vehicle maintenance

I had to get some major repairs done on my older vehicle, which can always be a scary process. After getting quotes from a few different shops in the area, Yeargan's stood out to me for a few reasons. When I call, I am always able to speak with someone who is very knowledgeable, kind, and most importantly, takes the time to explain things! I never feel rushed to get off the phone. I have been to a few different shops in the area, and Yeargan's attention to detail really stands out to me above all the other shops. Some other shops around here can feel like they are just churning through customers with no care or greater attention to the work they are doing. When I take my car to Yeargan's, they are extremely thorough and don't miss the small stuff! However, they also don't try to push repairs on you that you don't need. I won't be taking my car anywhere for repairs but here!
