Drove from NY to Carolina Beach in our 1975 Lincoln Town Car for a family vacation. The car blew a high pressure AC line just a few minutes before arriving to town. I eventually found this shop, explained the situation, and they got right on finding a solution. The part is not available anymore so one had to be made. Another shop "Diesel Parts of Carolina" made a new line using the original fittings. So once they had the new part they installed it, recharged the AC system and everything seemed fine. Except once I drove the car around, one of the original fittings broke, leaking all the freon out of the system again. I brought the car back the next day (last day before needing to leave for home with scorching temps and no AC for my wife and kids) they made things happened, contacted Diesel Parts (a great shop too, they were just working with the original old parts with my car, not their fault) got a new line made, re installed it, charged the AC system again, and got this all done right before I left the next morning. They didn't charge me anything more for having to fix the whole thing a second time. AC was great all the way home and still blowing ice cold. Drew and Jay the mechanics I dealt with were great guys. They made it happen for me.

I needed my vehicle back asap due to I have to travel for work. I called to get an estimate for ac compressor replacement. I was quoted around 5 or 6 hundred with details of my make and model given. I brought it in the next day and that quote doubled. It was $500-$600 to clear and refill freon line and 2 hours of labor, NO part included at that moment. My husband knows about cars but doesn't have the time due to his actual job schedule. The main person seemed to be nice and understanding however he had to continuously confer with the ac guy. The ac guy was attempting to charge extra for a part that was already included in the kit for the compressor replacement. My husband called them out on it and they retracted that extra fee. Then my husband asks can this be done that day or early the next day. The ac guy with the accent said in a rude snarly attitudeness way," If I hurry, you pay more. " I left my car overnight and it was done by 11am. Upon picking my car up they attempted to add another $100+ and claimed it was taxes. The office person already added the taxes and threw in a tightening of my radiator clamps. Which was not done. He called the office man and seemed a bit upset because he didn't notate the price on paper. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Just off the interaction with the ac man alone. 1 bad apple really does spoil the bunchServices: A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

These guys are awesome! I took my Land Rover here the other day and they jumped on repairing it when I pulled up. Other shops quoted me double the price for replacing the brakes. These guys do honest, quality work and they do it with a smile on their faces. Thank you, Carolina Auto Center!-Ty

My family went to Carolina Beach for a mini-vacation. Upon arrival our car had three issues: (1) a possible tire leak (2) a malfunctioning AC unit and (3) overheating when idle or stopped (potentially a game over).Within 30 minutes of arriving, Drew had diagnosed and set forth a plan of action for all three. He quickly spotted the leak and fixed the tire, and proposed a solution for the AC after checking fluid and pressure. After observing that it was the compressor, he quickly informed me, gave me a ball park price and time frame, and set forth on the most important objective, 3, the over heating.Drew quickly observed a leak and after reaching out to a colleague diagnosed the cause of the coolant leak and overheating. He put a plan into action and at several points when the plan needed adjusting or time frames were shifted his communication was professional, timely, and transparent.Drew was also transparent and up front about costs during the procedures, and I do feel he made every effort to give us as much as a deal as he could. But, results are what matters, and he delivered. Our car is fixed and safe, and the issues are ameliorated. Finally, Drew was aware of our check out date and the need to get home. He guaranteed delivered and he did - one could really not ask for more.STRONGLY recommend.

My exhaust pipe came loose from the engine due to running over a large object on the highway.Dropped it off, was quoted 300. They literally used gobs of JB Weld to try to secure it back together, rather than an actual weld or telling me they couldn t do a proper repair.Their work failed within a day of driving around as the glue job sprang a leak. They charged me 350 for this. Will not return.Service: Exhaust

Over the past year, we've had 2 older cars serviced several times by Carolina Auto Center. Every time has been an excellent experience! They listen carefully to what the problem is, provide a cost effective solution, actually honor the "estimate" price that they quote BEFORE the work is done and did the repair within the time frame that they promised! ALL repairs solved the problem and have held up. Above all, they are HONEST!! We are happy customers, will continue to use them and highly recommend them!!David & Jayne Malach

Had the most unprofessional experience of my like here.I went to get my fuel pump fixed. I called ahead of time since my vehicle needed to be towed. I made sure it could be done in 1 day as I had work the next and my tools and vehicle are how I make a living (like any tradesman). My vehicle arrived via tow at 8am. It was a Saturday and I called at 145 to make sure and no anwser. I got a ride up there and they were closed. My vehicle in the same spot. Monday, after loosing a days pay, they called about 2pm. "It's all good." I went, paid, and tried to leave. It wouldn't strart.? I told them, they were telling me, "oh it worked before you were here. Let's see." After 2.5 hours of me standing there, they had a tech drive me to a gas station because they insisted it was out of gas. Gas in, no start. An hour later ir ran....for 3 miles. They told me it was my fault. $600 later, it's in the yard.To add insult to injury, I wrote them a check apon receivment and I got a call a couple days later. They said the check had a misspelling and needed me to give them a new one that day. I explained that my vehicle is inoperable and I would get there the next day.I swear as God is my witness, the two techs show up at MY MOTHER'S HOUSE an hour later threatening to call the cops if I didn't go back in and write them a check now!I asked them, "where's my original check?" They said they did not have it but "we will be back with it!"I was not comfortable writing them a second check without receiving the original with a still broken down vehicle. At thus point, my neighbors are coming out because of them screaming and cursing at myself and my mother who is a senior. We had already let the police know and had to have a mediator. Just letting you know, these guys are not professional. Oil change? Sure. Actual mechanical work? Go somewhere else.I have a neighborhood that saw and if you aren't sure please message me and I can provide character witnesses from some of carolina beaches finest people. Please msg me for more

Don't expect any guarantees on their work, and be sure to take pictures of the lights that are on before you bring it in. Otherwise they won't know if it was on or off. Which means they won't fix it or even try to fix it unless you spend 80 on a diagnosis for what they messed up. Sure makes sense to me.

This shop was completely rude and took advantage of a female who was at their mercy. My mother was visiting the beach when her car messed up. Obviously distraught and afra8d because she was in an unfamiliar area with just her school age grandson, she found the closest body shop and arranged for her car to be fixed there. She was quoted a proven for two parts....one part being $150 and the other being $105. When she arrived to pay for services rendered she was told the 150 part was actually 239 and the 105 part was actually 179. After speaking with the gentleman (Leo) who was in charge she was informed that the original 150 and 105 was what THE SHOP paid and he had quoted her wrong. Which means that shop made $74 on one part and $89 on the other. So they charged an EXTRA $163 PLUS the labor......then, when I called to inquire I was told by Leo that his uncle owned the shop and I needed to call him.....mind you it took me TWO CALLS to get his correct number. And wouldn't ya know.....he didn't answer. This place is BAD. OVERCHARGING a female at your mercy is NOT GOOD BUSINESS......my next call is the Better Business Bureau.....Steer clear of these guys.....they obviously have no morals.
