Friendly service. Went in with a bent rim (lol) they were able to get with Jarvis and have a (new to me) fixed rim and tire in no time!

These kind of places restore my faith in humanity. I drive a Ram with after aftermarket wheels. Had a leaking tire valve but did not have the lug nut key for the wheels. Chased a resolution for a day and a half. They originally referred me to somewhere else out of fear of damaging my rim. Went back not long before closing and was immediately told to back up to the garage. My truck was on a jack and tire repaired in 30 min. On top of that they were going to charge less than I would have paid at my local shop. Again, I have aftermarket tires that are bigger, wider, and not easy to work with. I was considering moving to this area. This was an emergency. I missed worked and my daughter missed school. This solidified the deal. I will be making plans to move permanently to this area. Nothing like Hatteras. Nothing like the people there. Had they not helped I could have easily lost my job. DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR HOSPITALITY. TIP THEM.

Horrible business. I had used them in the past and they had my car for over a month before they returned it to me with my brakes shot, which was not the issue going in. They claimed they would fix them but didn t have the part. I tried for a month to bring it in and have them fix it. They never did. I ended up wrecking my car sans breaks and took it back to them and they outright refused to work on it. Recently, my car broke down nearby so I headed over to see if they d have any time to work on it. Once again I was outright refused and the woman in the front was extremely rude about it, also being very rude to another old woman while I was in there. She needed her brakes fixed and the lady working very rudely told her they wouldn t even be able to look at her car for a week. I would not recommend them by any means and I definitely will not waste any more time going there.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Outstanding service: professionally done, reasonably priced, had me in and out quickly. Being from out of town, my primary goal was to get the problem fixed. They not only did that, but did it quickly and at a great price. Treated me like a local; doesn't get much better than that when you're 400 miles from home. Great place, great service. Travelled to OBX from NY and unfortunately got a flat tire. I called Lighthouse Service Center, they were able to get me in within an hour, fixed the tire and put it back on within 15 minutes! Super friendly and efficient!!! Thank you!!!Service: TiresService: Tires

Not impressed with the lady taking the repair bookings. She seemed to be completely stressed out and all she had to do was take the bookings for service. I needed two bolts moved on an hitch, which was a 15 minute job. She told me she couldn t fit me in for a week. I understand that they were booked up, but she was pretty rude.

Super happy with our experience. Very nice, good communication, and fast repair. They had to have a part overnighted, but once they received it, vehicle was ready by 10 am. They even offered to drive us to pur vacation rental while car was in shop, but we had family pick us up. VERY fair and reasonable price for parts, and labor. Mechanical repair, and tire repair. Would recommend them. Thanks Lighthouse!!

When you're on a vacation, the last thing you want to hear is an unexpected sound when starting up your vehicle. Plus the car was doing other strange things. While he was obviously very busy, the owner(unfortunately we didn't get his name) took the time to drive the car and do some testing. He was able to figure out that the battery that we just had replaced was faulty. He also explained that the battery likely caused the other problems we were having with the car. He replaced the battery and didn't even charge us for his time or any labor! Good to know that there are kind, honest and reliable people that you can depend on when away from home. We would highly recommend this service center!Service: Battery

If you are not from around this area- avoid this service station. I'm sure the mechanics are great but we never got that far due to the horrendous attitude and obvious annoyance we caused the front desk lady.My mother was on vacation in the area, and had concerns regarding her brakes. She called & made an appointment to come in to have them looked at. (She called two days in advance)When she walked in, she was not happily greeted but rather a brash reminding that she would have to wait her turn, that the shop was too busy and this should have already been done. As if my mother was bothering her with her scheduled day to come in. She kept stating that my mother should have already had her brakes looked at, she'll have to wait now because they are too busy to deal with them.WELLL. My mother left in tears. Because she felt so unwelcome,. unwanted and felt like she was a bother.I called over, to address this, and was hung up on and then had to call back a whopping 10 times to get a hold of a manager, who simply stated that he knew exactly what and who I was talking about, that he hears these complaints all the time and was apathetic in his responses (most likely because he hears this all the time as he stated), asked me what I wanted them to do.And I said to call my mother and have that woman apologize- no one should leave a business in tears! ON VACATION NO LESS !Well, the woman called & "apologized" offering lousy excuses for her terrible behavior.Such a shame that the "Southern Hospitality" gene seemed to have skipped this woman, as my mother was ready to pay in cash.Good luck if you choose this business- you're gonna have to deal with some emotional torture before you can even get the hood popped.

Had a mechanical problem on a Saturday AM, facing a 9-hour drive home. They fit me in same-morning, competently improvised a solution when the part was not in stock, and had me on the road in 2 hours. All for a price that was incredibly fair. No wonder the local folks recommended them!!

Took care of my daughter with a brake issue while she was visiting the beach. Very honest and went the extra mile to get her back on the road, even going so far as to pick her car up and driving it to the shop when she was afraid to drive the car, and avoiding a tow charge.Great service. Thank you!

Drove from New Kent VA on Monday 7/15/19 only to spring an massive oil leak about 20 mins from Buxton. Added several quarts of oil, I made it to them at about 1:30pm. They were very busy and asked me to come back at 4:30 and they would check it out for me. Came back and they found the engine oil cooler line had a small hole in it. They had to order the line from GM as no one had a listing for it. They got the part and worked me in on Thursday am. Awesome people who did what they could to help get my truck fixed asap so my week here was salvaged. Kudos to all involved, you guys rock!! Highly recommended...

A local customer of the Lighthouse Service Center recommended them when I got a nail in a tire. They were fast, very reasonable charge. Wish these guys were near where I live.

Drove 360 miles to the Outer Banks only to discover that one of our brake calipers had frozen and destroyed a front rotor on our 4Runner. Since we were headed to Avon, a local in Rodanthe recommended Lighthouse Service Center in Buxton (at Red Drum shopping center). The folks here could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Dropped off our vehicle early Monday, they diagnosed the problem immediately and ordered the parts. If you have an American car, there's a NAPA parts store right next door to Lighthouse, so most parts are readily available. For our Toyota, they got the parts overnight, and the repair was completed by the next afternoon. I was very happy with their work.

I have a 2011 Jeep, it has the new fashioned $$$ headlights, dealer wanted 350$ to replace 1 bulb, took it in, $100 for headlight, $45 to change it, will bring them my business every chance I get!

I arrived in Outer Banks from Wisconsin last week and realized my right front wheel berings on my F250 truck were shot. Having replaced the left front hub/berings a year ago, I knew this would be expensive to fix, especially I assumed while on the road. I was very surprised to find Lighthouse Service Center could fix this for me within a day, and for a very fair price! I visit the outer banks every year, and this shop will be where I will go again if I need something fixed while there!

Iv never been so shocked as I was at the Repair shop. Such a "care less" attitude. Wow. If u that miserable quit. No reason for that behavior in front of my children.

Tried to use the air pump under the giant free air sign after spending hundreds of dollars on bait and tackle their and 2 guys come out and told us we were trespassing and using private property. Maybe they should take down the free air sign before threatening people and chasing them off the property.

I had a broken valve stem. I went to the shop about a half hour after they opened. They took care of it in about 20 min. Price was right for the service. Saved the vacation right there!

Full service garage with lifts, mechanics on staff and the auto parts store right next door. Central location for Cape Hatteras Island.
