I had an emergency and needed 4 tires that wasn't in stock. I called John Barrett that morning and in just a few hours he called to say I have your tires, come on in and we'll get you taken care of. After inspecting the tires he said that 2 of them were fine if I didnt want to change them right away. Instead of pushing to sell me 4 tires, he gave me an option. Wow!! John is friendly, pleasant and proficient. He goes out of his way to help! Thank you John B!

We went here on a Saturday right before they closed, thought I needed a patch but the tire was going bad. Fortunately I had literally just picked up replacements and had them in the back. The guy said we ll change this one out I asked how much it would be if they went ahead and changed all 4 just to be safe. He quoted me $160 and they started changing them out. I didn t make it 2 miles before my hub cap came off, after putting it back on I found the scratches on all 4 rims. Something I didn t notice right away because they were slightly dirty already. They had already closed so I waited till Monday and called to speak to John who told me to bring it by. I took it by the next Saturday bc I was off work. John basically denied everything, made different suggestions as to how it could happened but not by them. I told him the rims weren t even a year old and I never scratched them. I ordered them brand new in the box from Black s tire. Showed him the bent caps (which all of them had been bent) and he decided that he would get new hub caps.Before this occurred my rims had no scratches and no problems with the hub caps staying on but one visit here and I ve got both. I understand that John wasn t there and he s going to take up for his workers but why would I make this up? The fact that they damaged my rims and only admit to half of it is BS. Any service station can change your oil and replace a tire. Barrett's is an experience. They treat you like family. The bird greeted me with a 'Hello, how are you?' Of course he followed it up with a 'whatever' but where else are you chatting with a macaw or petting a wallaby?

Mr Barrett was professional and friendly as well as knowledgeable. He was able to get our car repaired and back on the road the same day for a reasonable fee. Great service! We will recommend him to others looking for a good place to take their vehicle.

I ve never had a problem with John or his other mechanic, but his mechanic l saw Recently Basically Ripped Me Off When I Asked Him About It He Got An Attitude He s Very Disrespectful And Dishonest Stay Away From Him

Very nice guys. I called at almost 5pm, asked if they had time for an inspection and he told me yes to come on. This was the only place that would do it that late I'm the day. They couldn't help me with my inspection, to no fault of their own. Different county, different regulations. And I'm so sad I didn't see a bird . I saw the cages but I didnt see a bird. But overall, this was a good place and if I need anything done while I'm in town, I'll definitely be calling them.

I came in for a simple tire repair from a nail. They got me in right away and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes my kids were with me and they enjoyed the parrots they had they even let us feed them a peanut . Good service

I give Barrett's a five star because they will really try to help you out if they can and you don't have to schedule an appointment. They are a very important part of our community and have been around for a long time.

I was driving from Raleigh to visit my parents on a Friday night and had some issues with my vehicle. I was doubtful I would be able to find a mechanic open on the weekend. To my surprise, I found Barrett's was open and able to take a look at my car. John was very honest, knowledgeable and solved my problem at an extremely reasonable price.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I went to this garage and asked about getting my vehicle inspected. All three employees were eating lunch in the waiting area and no one greeted me. When I asked about the inspection they all looked at each other then finally the female said there were no open bays which was fine but I wasn't asked to come back later or the next day. Nothing. So I asked, when would be a good time to come back.Needless to say, I didn't return. The entire interaction we awkward and very uncomfortable.

I had to get my vehicle inspected and went there on the recommendation of a couple of friends. They thoroughly inspected my car it took about 25 minutes and I was done. Everyone there was polite and professional. I would go back there for my car repair needs. I really liked the bird he kept me entertained while I waited for them to finish my inspection.

They are pretty good.i pulled after my tire blew just before Barrett"s station.they came straight out to assist me and immediately went to putting a new tire on for me and the price was great.so yes they are really good people there and I would recommend.

I have NEVER written a review before...I called the shop Saturday late and asked the gentleman on the other if there was anyway they could possibly put an alternator on my Suburban. I wasn't local and was about to be stranded. He said yes. I brought the part and I was in and out very quickly. The price they charged was very fair, especially for fitting me in. What they didn't realize was my daughter is autistic and we were on a special trip together. Because of their kindness we were able to leave the "car doctor" and enjoy the rest of our weekend together. I can't thank you enough. I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you again!

I wouldn't recommend going there. I called about having my tire looked at. I'm new to the area and a friend recommend them. I had her on the phone telling me how to get there and she mistakenly had me turn at the wrong stoplight so I had to turn around and redirect myself. I pulled up at 302 and told him I was the one who called and my friend mistakenly had me turn at the wrong light. He said I'm sorry we're closed and pulled off and my tire went flat so I had to make it to Circle K for air. He was rude ...

Our alternator was having issues today while we were driving an hour from where we live. Called this place and they said to come on. They got us fixed up and back on the road. Rocky the parrot was a nice perk as well.:)

They do good work, they're honest, their prices are fair, they're sensitive to how being without a car is a problem and so they're also fast.And I love the birds! Definitely recommend.

First time taking my truck there and the owner got me right in. Owner was very nice and personable unlike most service stations you go to where they make you feel like you are bothering them. Definitely will be using Barretts for all my mechanical needs.

I ve known John for a number of years as I ve taken all my vehicles including recommending everyone I know to John. They do great work at a very reasonable labor rate. They know what their doing! Highly recommended!

Straight up honest guys ! Very reasonable and worked in a timely manner ! Came recommended from another local shop , the fabulous exotic birds were entertaining as well ! From a woman who has traveled a lot and lied to about vehicle issues and pricing , I appreciate your honest and reliable work !

Best place in Brunswick county very informative of needs and not needs very clear on prices and fast thuro about service.. they even have Beautiful birds they raise very friendly loving little baby's . Very clean well taken care of .. very pleased with this place if you love your trusting vehicle work this is where to come great place
