This is my first experience with Dolphin Auto and so far I've been very happy with them. They may not have been able to give me good news but they are doing everything they can to help me right now. Right now, I'd say I've found the shop I will be entrusting my future maintenance needs to.

Excellent service. Best price in town. Had the ball joints and brakes etc. replaced on my 2012 Silverado after a collision. She was in bad shape! Truck toed in by Halls. Adrian and his crew did a great job. They look and feel perfect- Plus what a huge help everyone was with my also amazing Geico insurance adjuster Felecia. (All of this is very strange to say!) Post care instructions. 1 year warranty. Realistic expectations. Money, time, communication. Dolphin knocked it out of the park! Thank you guys. New lifetime customer.

Brought my vehicle in to have the splash shield reattached. My regular mechanic was booked solid for the week so figured I d give these guys a shot since it was a pretty minor repair. I noticed a little fluid dripping from underneath my car beforehand and asked if they could check and make sure there wasn t anything leaking that shouldn t be. A few hours later they called to tell me my splash shield was reattached, but that my car had been leaking power steering fluid and that I needed to replace my rack and pinion with a $1400 estimate. Something smelled fishy, besides I d just had my power steering fluid flushed within the last 6 months by my regular mechanic and didn t recall them mentioning anything about it needing to be repaired in any way. I called my regular guy and scheduled a second opinion. They verified the fluid level, test drove it, and found nothing abnormal with the operation of my steering system. After raising the vehicle on a lift and visually inspecting all steering rack and power steering system components the technician found no evidence of any leaks. They also had no documented history of any fluid leaks from the power steering system. They said that even if I did need to have it repaired they would only have charged around 2/3 of what dolphin quoted me for a repaired I didn t need whatsoever. There, you ve been warned.

They had me tow my vehicle there because they assured me they would solve whatever was wrong with my car. A week later they call and say i need a new motor because mine was shot. Then he told me they don't work on GMC Envoys and i would have to get someone else to put the motor in. I was outraged! Never take your car here..oh plus my tools were missing out the back of my car too.

Came to get my car fixed and after they were done fixing it , I saw my check engine light was on, and after turning off my car to see if it will turn off once I turn it on again it wouldn t start. One of the employees came out to check the car and had it towed in the morning to tell me the problem was a blown head gasket. I call a tow truck to get it towed to my residence when they open again, and ask them to leave the keys in the glove box, and couldn t find them when I got the car delivered. Only to find out when I went in to pick up the keys, they were in the cup holder of the employee s car who worked on it. I had to wait an additional 2 hours before I got my keys.

Ok update to be fair my car is now working by a better honest machanic . The pump we were told was bad because they did not properly put back gas lines when they put pump in was working one day and next not all because of that but said it was a bad pump . My guess is they blindly put gas lines back on but didn't have proper tool that cost a lot to fully look at what they were doing . Or they would have seen that ! Do not bring your bmw here even if they say they can fix it they can't badbusiness guys and when caught in a lie was told to remove our car to German automotive we did not use their recommended machanic due to the dishonesty. But did get a quote of 1,400 and wow for a small fix would have made out good huh? No thank you to both machanics

Dylan was great and really professional. He was able to get me in same day and had my car ready within 24 hours. Other shops were quoting me 2 - 3 weeks before they could even look at my car. Really happy with my experience and will most definitely use this shop in the future.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil changeServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

We had an issue with our brakes while visiting from out of town, and the guys at Dolphin automotive were incredibly thoughtful about squeezing us in the day of our need. Plus they so kindly made arrangements for us to spend the day in a nearby town so we and the kids did not have to sit and wait. We were touched by their Southern kindness and would recommend this place to anyone!Service: Brakes

We were visiting the area from out of state. A couple of dash lights came on and I wanted to be sure we were safe on the steep mountain roads. The only issue was a faulty gas cap, for which they charged $30. If I d been home, I would have expected to pay double that just to have the codes read. Honest, friendly and timely. I d definitely recommend Dolphin.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Dylan was professional and knowledgeable. Another local repair shop could not fix my engine overheating problem, so I brought my SUV to Dolphins. Dylan diagnosed my water pump/ belt issues and had my vehicle repaired and returned to me by the end of same day. Will definitely return here for all my car needs.

These guys are great. They were hired for what seemed like a minor problem, but could see that it was larger. Called, explained, got permission, and did the work quickly and well, for a reasonable price. The crew at Dolphin are quick, honest, and reasonably priced. They were willing to work with me on some in depth issues with my truck, and were very communicative throughout the whole process. I felt like they went above and beyond to try and help me out. Would highly recommend!

although Adrian was not able to repair our transmission because it had something to do with the differential, he did refer us to someone else in South Asheville. he was very professional, courteous, and it is obvious that he's had a lot of transmission experience and a lot of dealing with the general public. and although he spent some time diagnosing our problem with our 2010 Ford Fusion, he did not charge a diagnostic fee. he also answered the phone which is something which is evaporating in today's business culture

Great experience here. My truck made a very sudden grinding noise with the brakes at 11 am this morning. I called multiple auto repair shops in Black Mountain, and Michelle said I could bring in the truck now. I needed it to return to Florida this evening. Steve offered me the use of his Jeep to pick my son up while they did diagnostics--turned out the calipers locked up. I dropped off the car around noon and had it back by 3:30. Very happy so far. Michelle knew I was returning to Florida and included the brake warranty with my paperwork with an 1-800 number to call if there are any issues. I would go back if I had to. I would use them if I lived locally. Thanks guys.

I went to dolphin automotive for an oil change. When I arrived there, at my scheduled time, Jason told me that "it was gonna be a while," and that I told him the wrong model of my car so he might not have the oil filter for my car. He gave me a lot of attitude about it so I called my wife (who initially made the appointment,) and she told me that she had spoken to a woman, and not to Jason.Anyway, he got to work on another woman's car while I waited for about 45 minutes. It turns out the person with the different model (same make) called and cancelled her appointment while Jason was working on my car. It's not over yet... When I got home oil spilled all over the driveway. He didn't tighten the oil filter enough. I had to bring it back to have it topped off and retightened. Honest mistake, and he was polite when I returned, but the initial attitude (and the way he jumped to a conclusion about me) was unacceptable.Don't waste your time or money here.

We were from out of town and they got us in quickly and fixed our truck. Their price was fair and about what we thought it would be. They let us use their jeep to drive for the day. Very kind and helpful people. Thank you Dolphin automotive.

This place is terrible do not go! There man there had a very rude attitude and acted like he didn't want to serve me. After he was done with the two cars in front of me, which took one and a half hours, he finally got me in for an oil change. It took a good hour for them to do my oil change and they didn't even rotate my tires. And to top it all off, they took money out of my center console. DO NOT GO HERE

I have jus picked up my dear old volvo wagon which had major surgery (head gasket, timing belt and water pump too) and they were great. Not many places would take on this mega project and with enthusiam (ha) Bessie is ticking over nicely it seems, so far so good. They were fast, professional, kept me informed of what was going on, and the price was really really good. Wicked sense of humour too . Fully recommend.

(As you can see below they don't take criticism well) I took my 1979 Fiat 124 Spider (that I bought after looking at it MULTIPLE times) here to get it diagnosed and repaired, when I got it back it was worse than when I dropped it off. When they gave it back to me to drive home it kept stalling out on the interstate. Then the next day the harmonic balancer actually FELL OFF the car! When contacted they never answered calls and never responded to voicemails. So instead of towing it back not knowing if they would even fix what they messed up I found another mechanic who answered my calls.

It can be so overwhelming or even intimidating to choose the right person to fix your car. Whether you baby your car (like me who named her Sylvia the Silver Subaru) or simply see it as a way to get from point A to point B.You read all the reviews and still have trouble deciding! Especially when you see some reviews that don t paint the prettiest picture. It s important to carefully read them all. You re no dummy. You can tell when someone just had a bad day and is looking for an outlet. You can also tell when someone is genuinely pleased. I m of the latter category (thankfully!) Alas, I m getting off topic!I ve known the owner, Steve, for over 25 years, but that's not the reason I keep coming back. Sure, I enjoy our delightful banter and updating him about how my folks are doing. I also enjoy hearing about his family and exchanging recipes with his wife. That's not why I've brought every single car I've owned to Steve, the owner of Dolphin Auto (even back when he was still working for another shop.) I bring my cars to Steve because my Dad brought his cars to Steve. I bring my cars to Steve because I TRUST him implicitly.I'm not totally devoid of mechanical know-how when it comes to my vehicles. I've been changing the oil and working on my motorcycles my whole life. I do the research and know what's what when it comes to the work I need done.I prefer to bring my cars to Steve because I don't like crawling under them anymore. I bring my cars to Steve because he s a decent man who s never steered me wrong. I bring my cars to Steve because if my Dad says to trust him, then I don t need to look elsewhere.Through the years, I ve had every kind of car crisis you can imagine. And every time, I call Steve up and explain in excruciating detail what the noise is or what the service manual says. He ALWAYS takes the time to walk me through his recommendations. He searches far and wide for the best part within my budget. He gives me all the details that I need to be able to make an informed decision. Then he supervises the work and drives the car afterward to make sure everything feels right. He s even driven me home and picked me back up when my car was ready! (I can t promise that for you though maybe that s a perk of knowing him for two and a half decades )At this point, you probably forgot I was talking about a mechanic! He s not just a mechanic, he s more than that. Steve is a consummate automotive professional who happens to work with differentials, head gaskets, and wires. He's also a dear family friend. And, he offers a 12-month, nationwide warranty! Not because you ll need it, but because he knows it ll give you peace of mind as you embark on your next great adventure. Whether it s just driving to work knowing you ll arrive safely on a cold winter morning, or heading out on a cross-country road trip to see the amber waves of grain.Just like with every lasting relationship with someone who provides such a critical service for you, begin with a conversation. Give him a call and tell him D sent you. See if it s a good fit. I m not going to promise you ll be a match made in heaven. But I will tell you that you ll be treated fairly and with respect, whether you speak with Steve or his wife, Michelle.Imagine the relief of knowing who to turn to whenever there s an issue with Sylvia, or Roxy, or Hopper, or Stella, or Landy, or Ol Bluefus (I name all my cars and Steve has known them all!) If it feels right, you ve just made a step in the right direction. And you have one less thing to worry about in this crazy world!

SCAMMERS!My car broke down conveniently right in front of this shop. They looked at my car, told me it was the alternator and quoted me a price of $603.I thought it was the alternator, so that made sense but I was expecting a price closer to $300.I called around and was given a quote of $320 from THREE separate places.I called Dolphin back and was told that $600 was accurate and I "would get what I paid for."Then, they made me pay $45 for running diagnostics on it before they would allow a tow truck to move it.Guess what? The alternator work great now that I paid have what they quoted me.I don't know if they thought they could rip me off because it was already there or because I was a woman, but either way WHAT A BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS.
