My wife and I had car trouble on I-40 near Black Mountain. Jamie, Trey, and Jamie s assistant could not have been nicer to us. They quickly fixed our car and charged us very fairly. Their shop is immaculate and very organized! Jamie s a great mechanic. We were fortunate to have found them!

I am so pleased with the service we received at Cove Auto Repair. Jamie and Trey took the time to walk through the history of the vehicle, make recommendations that were financially reasonable and within my budget, and quickly delivered on the maintenance and repairs to keep my vehicle running optimally. I highly recommend them and will return for all of my automotive needs.

The scheduler call me back several times to be able to work in an appointment for me. We did schedule the Mustang. The problem was diagnosed and the repair was made within a short. Of time and I was able to get the car back by the end of the day at 5 p.m. for a reasonable price.

Trey got all my information and spent the time to be sure of the symptoms and problem the brakes in my car have. He clearly spelled out the possibilities and the associated costs. After the diagnosis, Trey only did the necessary repairs and did not replace the rear brake calipers when only a mounting bolt fell out causing the caliper body to scrape on the rotor. He did offer legitimate additional maintenance and I gratefully accepted an oil change and filter change.It's it is delightful to know that there are repair shops that are honest and honorable.I would recommend cove Auto repair to anybody needing service work for their car.

These guys saved the weekend for our guy weekend at Billy Graham's The Cove! We had a father/son(s) weekend planned for months and on the way up we had car trouble late on a Friday afternoon. These guys came to our rescue and had us on the road with a quick entire RADIATOR replacement repair. Thankful for part accessibility and their willingness not to let us become stranded for the weekend! They were amazing and fairly priced! Good trustworthy people!Service: Engine repair

Absolute best auto experience I ve ever had in regards to timeliness, willingness to help, and communication. I was on my way up black mountain headed towards Asheville when my car stopped working (found out it was my catalytic converter). It was 1am and we had it towed overnight to cove auto repair and dropped it off. I called the next morning to speak with someone and let them know what was going on. They mentioned they couldn t prioritize me (overnight drop offs in general) as there were other appointments made, I understood but the man I spoke with mentioned they would do their best to at least look at my car the same day I called. Within a few hours of that convo, they said they had already looked at it, found the problem (the catalytic converter) and could get the part and repair it the same day!! Before 3pm. So I had my car fixed in less than 12 hours. I was coming in from out of town with a huge art event that I needed my car for, so this was a huge relief for me. I wasn t overcharged and was billed a very fair price for labor and the part of course. I definitely recommend if you need anything done.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was referred to this mechanic shop needing some basic maintenance. They got me in quickly, they were affordable, and knowledgeable. I was needing an oil change and tire rotation. I noted that they didn't do body or tires while I was there. No hidden costs. It was very convenient for my needs.

Had an awesome experience with the folks at Cove. They were the only shop I called that was willing to fully investigate my car's issue before throwing parts at it. They quoted me a reasonable price and were kind enough to go above and beyond to make sure it was right. Jamie was very personable and got the job done quickly. This was an excellent experience. Jamie took time out to assess my van's transmission and recommend a course of action. He did not try to sell me something that was not needed. Subsequently, he did a great job servicing the transmission (the transmission shifts smoothly thanks!) and taking care of a couple of other issues (belts etc.) that had given trouble over many months. Everything was fixed in an expert and timely way. If you are looking for an expert master mechanic who also runs an honest business, I would absolutely recommend the folks at Cove Auto!Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

Cove Auto is always our first choice for anything auto-mechanical. Tim is always on-point with communication and remembers repeat customers and folks around town. Debi is very kind also, but haven't talked with her nearly as much. Jamie is knowledgeable and trustworthy as an owner and a technician. I've heard good things about Nathan too, but haven't interacted with him much.Sometimes the scheduling can seem far out, but that's to be expected with any business that delivers good service -- they're going to be busy and sometimes there will be a waiting time. Besides, to off-set that concern, we've had multiple times where they moved us up in scheduling either because they had a cancellation or the issue was a driving safety concern.Pricing is standard, can't comment on that much. Of course nobody ever WANTS to pay for anything, but many things are worth paying for. Like having dependable vehicles to drive and transport my family.Great people, great service. Try them out if you're in need of auto repair help.

Attentive, informative and fair. As a young woman especially, it can be difficult to find truly honest people to work on my car. A great experience all around. They called and let me know they had a cancellation and were able to move up my appointment. While my car was there, I had a great in-depth phone conversation with Tim who was very patient with my questions and worked with me to figure out a solution that was in my price range, but would also solve some questions/problems I was having with my 2007 Honda. Absolutely honest and did not try to upsell me. I've found my new mechanic!

$500+ for heater fix, actuator door. The result:-Dashboard not put back securely nor fitted properly.-Instrument panel crooked and sunken down on right side.-Lighter portal no longer has power.-Instrument panel dimmer knob no longer functional.-2 large and significant looking screws left homeless on floor mats.-Heater works fine now.

We had an another amazing experience with Cove Auto Repair recently. My wife's car died in the parking lot of CVS in Black Mountain . We called the shop and spoke to Jamie and within minutes he came to the rescue and changed her dead battery and told us her car needed a new alternator . Jamie is a true professional and awesome master mechanic . We are so grateful and we can't recommend them enough!Service: General repairs & maintenance

These guys are fairly priced honest and straight forward. They made sure to help diagnose a problem that another shop missed and helped me make the proper repairs based on my circumstance. Also to put this out there they make sure you feel comfortable before making any repairs and even call to double check. They have good hours and a safe location with super friendly staff. If you re needing a repair and in the area go here.

I had a transmission problem coming up the steep stretch of I40. Jamie checked my van and gave me some advice on how to handle the drive back to Kentucky. He did not charge me a dime. Shook my hand and wished me luck getting my family home safely which we did. A real gentlemen and decent human being. I don't know why I didn't take my vehicles here years ago. The customer service was fantastic. You could really tell it has a nice small town and family feel to the way they run their business. Their techs are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly as well. They earned my family's business for years to come.

I was charged for them to simply look at my brake pads and tell me that they were still good for another ~20,000 miles. This was a first for me to be charged for a simple diagnostic when no work was done. I will not be going back, nor will I recommend them.

Every time I take my truck here they tell me it is going to be X amount of dollars and it is going to take X amount of days. Then they call me 4 hours later and tell me they are done and it is going to be half-as-much as they quoted. Seriously the best and most honest mechanics I have ever encountered. I am moving 90 minutes away and will still be bringing my truck to them for service - the drive is inconsequential when you find a mechanic this legit.

So happy we decided to take our car to cove. Jamie not only took the time to explain things, he truly cares about your needs. And is willing to investigate in stead of assuming. I went with my gf's dad to drop off their van. I really was impressed by the personalized attention and patience that the man (i wish i remembered his name) treated us with. I am quick to mistrust mechanics (not fair but true) however i think this place has earned my trust! Good job COVE!

Great local repair shop. Our car was flooding inside and, after a test drive by Tim, we learned that because the vents by the wipers were clogged with leaves, excess water accumulated, forcing it inside. Car was fixed in a few days and, surprisingly, the fee was minimal. We intend using Cove for all future problems.

Do not go here unless you like to pay $$$$! Got a brake job on a 2001 Chevy Silverado a couple years ago. The brake lines were rusted. Not an unusual vehicle, typical problem for these at this age. So they changed the pads, rotors, calipers, and i thought all the lines since that was the problem to begin with!! And, with the amount spent!!!! Have all the receipts to prove it! $1400. Brakes went out AGAIN with a load of roadbond gravel in the bed. They said that they only replaced the parts of the lines that were rusted at the time. So they charged $800 more to fix that problem. Total cost of entire brake line kit $130!!!. Easier to do it all right then. It would have saved me a lot of $$$! They didn't even want to have my truck in their lot overnight. Even though it was unsafe to drive, and after they had worked on it! REALLY!! But, they had it done the next day. That's a lot of labor cost. $2200 brake job, folks! They still feel mushy as hell too. Have to push the pedal almost to the floor before it stops. They argued with me, and said it felt fine to them. $2200 and the brakes feel like S-IT! They said it might be the tires, or lift kit. BS!!!! It had better braking before they worked on it. They also recommended me to go to J-Car transmissions which was also a bust. Different vehicle... But, that's another $3000 story! NEVER go there either!!!! Would've given a 0 if I could've. Never go there unless you like to spend a lot of money on things that should have been fixed correctly the first time! Needless to say I'll NEVER be going back! I used to be a loyal customer too. What a shame. Hard to find descent help anywhere! I should've went to Midas, but I try to support local business, if I can. BIG MISTAKE!

Seldom do customers take the time to give a review of a business. Usually, you either love or hate who you're reviewing or you wouldn't make the effort. I've had to go to Cove Auto twice this year already. I got 2 estimates for the 2nd major repair - $705 from Cove Auto, & a nerve-jolting $1,250 from a local VW specialist. It was easy to make the choice. Cove Auto actually billed me less, saying the part they had ordered cost them less than anticipated, plus the job took less time. I was VERY pleased.Immediately after the 2nd major repair I had an issue with my car from what I felt had been a consequence of their initial repair. Naturally, the owner disagreed, BUT he said, "Relationships were more important than money." He repaired the breakage at NO COST to me & we shook hands in the end.Do this little old lady recommend Cove Auto? Hell, yeah!

My truck was sick. I took him to another who shall not be named and they did some work on it, but he was still sick. Took it to Cove. Not only were they honest and up front with me, they inspected him too!!! My truck runs like a brand new one and I am so thankful to Jamie and Cove auto!!! Y'all rock!!!
