I recently had to have an inspection done on my dad's GMC Canyon and I noticed that the brake lights weren't working so I took it to Firestone in Belmont. They weren't able to fix the situation and they advised me to take the truck to a dealership or to an electrical mechanic. So I went to Victory Chevrolet in Mt. Holly and the service advisor told me that I shouldn't waste any money in the vehicle because it was old and smelled liked mold, mildew and had the worst water damage he's ever seen. I inspected the truck myself and didn't see any water damage, mold or mildew. The smell was actually from some grease and oil that had been in the truck.Needless to say I was disheartened and didn't know what to do so I looked up mechanics in the Belmont and Mount Holly area.This is where I came across R&M Auto Center, their reviews were almost perfect so I called them and spoke with Leslie, she was very helpful, professional and pleasant. She set up an appointment for me relatively soon and explained pricing for me. When I arrived, I spoke with Cameron and explained the situation in detail with the brake lights, the driver's window not going down and locks not working. He assured me that it would be taken care of. He also reiterated that the diagnostics fee was $103 and if they didn't resolve the issue in the first 45 or hour then there would be an additional charge for each additional hour.I left my vehicle overnight and when they call me back the next day, to let me know what the issue was, I was worried but Leslie explained that they found the issue and it was a simple fix for the brake lights. I was extremely happy about the price because I was thinking the worst. They finished my vehicle and did my inspection as well in a timely manner.When I picked up my vehicle I was surprised that the driver's window worked and the locks on the truck worked as well and yes the brake lights were fixed. They took care of everything and didn't try to exploit the situation. Overall, I would definitely recommend R & M Auto Center for your vehicle's repairs because they are truly honest, upfront and do great work on your vehicle for a very fair price.

I had replacement wheels/tires installed on my F-150. They gave me several time options and got me in and out quickly at a great price. The staff was helpful and friendly. I m pleased to find this business and I recommend them highly.

I was an auto tech/mechanic for them but I lost my job. I was out of a shop for almost 14 years before they hired me so I understand why I was let go. They are great people and Godly people and it was a pleasure working for them. They are very knowledgeable and I highly recommend taking your vehicle to them. They will fix it right the first time and they are wonderful people. Family owned and have been in operation for 40 years. Just a great place to take your vehicle. 5 star shop.

A chevy dealer refused to work on my 2000 chevy blazer, said it was to oldR&M not only took care of everything that was wrong, but took the time to deliver my fixed blazer back to me, R&M is the only place I would recommend to any one for service

Highly recommend this shop! I ve been taking both of my vehicles here since living in Mount Holly for 4 years now. I have a lifted jeep and they always do a great job making sure everything is running smoothly

I couldn t ask for anything better. After traveling to many different repair shops I m so blessed to have stumbled upon this one! They knew exactly how to make my bumper good as new. After being quoted by other repair shops it would cost $3,000 to replace, R&M had me fixed and ready to go with less than $100 spent. I couldn t rave enough about this place. The crew at R&M Auto are AWESOME! We ve been having some trouble with our Hyundai Sonata and some transmission codes that keep popping up. These guys got us in quickly, the waitlist everywhere else around locally was horrible with having an estimated timeframe of getting your car back, but R&M was on top of getting us in line and worked on! Their Customer Service is top notch! Leslie up front was very thorough with us on what they found and didn t find and what the next steps should be. Even though our check engine light went OFF before they got a chance to hook it up to see what was going on (we already knew what codes were popping up) Cameron and the guys took it upon themselves to research a little further into the codes for me so that I would know it was safe to still drive, and what could be causing the light to keep coming on and off!!! They let me know what the simplest thing could be to cause the issue, all the way to what the worst possible thing could be! They really are very thorough and take pride in not just doing the work, but researching and learning even further themselves!!!! It s a nice experience to have when things change so much! To see them continually learning to improve their business!!!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!!!! We will be back as soon as that light pops back on!!! Thank you for being a great option for us locally!!!

I found this shop to be very honest. I asked for something to be fixed and they said it wasn't a problem. They just made a quick switch fix and saved me about $150. Will definitely be using them as my local mechanic shop.

Cameron explained everything to me in great detail, I truly appreciate your help!! Awesome Service!!!! Update on 09/05/23...I received a called from Cameron today to see if everything was going well with they services they did on my Yukon. That was so nicevof Cameron to check to see if everything was going well. I appreciate the call and the great service from everyone. I highly recommend!!!!

If you are looking for an honest automotive mechanic place, this is it. I have used them for years and never had an issue and I trust them. Now, they are a little busy... be patient.

My check engine light came on while I was heading back to Canada after a long road trip. R & M Auto Center got me in, fixed up and back on the road within a few hours. Furthermore, while I was paying, I set my backpack down in the lobby and took off before realizing I forgot it behind. Once they realized I had left it, the staff made several efforts to call me and let me know it was there, but by the time either of us realized, I was too far to turn back. I asked if they would ship it to me given that I pay for the shipping costs, and sure enough, they agreed to do so. I just received the package today. Special thanks to Cameron for going through the trouble of figuring out how to get the backpack to me, and getting it shipped. Give that man a raise!

Leslie, Carter, and Richard were wonderful to work with and provided day by day progress of the work being done to my vehicle. They went above and beyond to find the issue I was having with my truck, Did the work in a timely manner, and we re 100% honest. Leslie is great with making sure the customer is informed of what s going on, and getting permission before additional work that was needed was done. Thanks to everyone at R&M, I will continue to do business here and strongly advise anyone looking for a honest, thorough, and local auto mechanic to do business here. The best Automotive Service Center around. Super friendly staff. Fair and up front pricing. Excellent turn around time with great communication during the repair process. This is a great place to take your car for a car inspection. You can get an appt within a week of calling. They are efficient & friendly. The waiting area is clean and quiet.

I used R & M to fix a problem I was having, and expected it to be a bigger problem than it was. They were very courteous and helpful, got my car ready for me to get back on the road quickly. They were honest, and the cost was a lot less than what I expected.Thank you for what you do!!

My oldest son inherited an '03 Camry from my oldest brother's estate. We put a much needed front end suspension on the car and found R & M had an appointment open. Richard checked the car an informed me that one of the tie rods needed to be replaced which I didn't do seeing that it would have been very difficult and time consuming. They new ones were in the car a he put them on and had the car ready that day. Steers and drives like new. Thank you Richard! Another project gets checked off the list.

I am new to Mt. Holly and when I was having car troubles I was skeptical about auto repair shops. I wanted somewhere I could trust and wouldn't be screwed over. I went to R & M based on their good reviews and their timeliness. For my first time here I have had such a great experience! They were upfront with me and honest. They worked thoroughly and diligently and notified me the second any changes occurred. They answered my many questions and didn't leave anything to the imagination. They were honest in trying to do the easiest and cheapest fix for my car to save me time and money. Their customer service was beyond excellent, they even brought me home and picked me up when my car was done! I will for sure be returning here for future appointments! Quality service at a great price!

I love this place for getting my car fixed. It s convenient and they usually try to work as fast as they can to have my car back to me. They re always honest and they try their best to work with me on costly repairs.

Nice people but bare minimum work. If you would like to have people care while they work on your vehicle and be able to answer your questions using their brain instead of their greed for your cash and their time DONT TAKE UR CAR HERE! Find someone who would like to help you more cause they are out there.

This was my first time at R&M Auto Center. My truck had a fuel smell coming from the engine. It was diagnosed and repaired quickly. I did have some questions about my bill and was very pleased with our conversation and the professionalism in answering my concerns. Over charged and did not even fix the problem. Told me I would have to pay another service fee of 75$ if I wanted them to look at my vehicle some more.Told me the issue was the battery had me replace the battery. After telling me the vehicle was done I went outside to see if the problem was still there it was. Nothing was resolved and my previous battery ended up being fine. The business said I d have to bring it back and pay again for them to continue to misdiagnose the car issues.A few days later I was stranded at work. After paying to have my vehicle towed to Honda they told me the only issue was the starter you would think someone experienced would know this based on what I had described anyways they charged way more than necessary and refused to continue to try and figure out the problem even after 300 dollars went into their pockets.

Just moved to Belmont. We shopped around for a mechanic as my wife travels for work and we need to keep up on maintenance. These guys went above and beyond to make sure her car was working fine. They were honest and did not try to sell me anything. They are efficient. I bring both vehicles there for everything now. They have great people that work here and we won't go anywhere else.Google asked to update this review, so here is the update: they STILL are awesome. They go above and beyond constantly. They are genuine and care more about good service then trying to find things to bill you for. I love this place!

R & M takes care of my car quickly. I hate taking my car for maintenance at most places because it feels like I'll be taken advantage of because I don't know much about cars and because I'm a woman. R & M has never felt that way. When they say I need something, they explain why I need it. I can then make decisions about which repairs I want to allow.

I had some extensive work done to my car. It was done promptly and was done expertly, they even went above and beyond on my car. I was not overcharged and was overjoyed at the great work that was done. I found the owner and staff to be honest and not out to take my money. I highly recommend R&M Motors to everyone! I would rate them at 10 if possible, they are the absolute best at what they do and I would not trust my car to anyone else!

The ac went out on my van a few weeks ago and it was awful. We couldn't take the heat any longer. Well I googled automotive ac repair shops and saw one close to my house. It was R&M auto. They were great. I pulled in and they got to work on my odyssey quickly. They got the ac running great again. I was worried about price from the moment my ac stopped working but they got it done for a great price. I highly recommend them. We will definitely be returning customers. Fast, friendly, and reasonably priced.Thanks for getting my ac working. Oh and my 3 girls thank you too.

Place is very clean, staff members are really helpful and courteous. Its back to back year we did our car inspection here and they are excellent and well professional in their work. You can expect fast response and fast solution of your faulty car or inspection. They don't make wait for longer. Reception area is quite well maintained clean and safe. Covid-19 rules followed as can find sanitizer easily here. They work on gas, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles. I would recommend this place if you are looking for inspection or repair your lovely car by by professional at reasonable price Good Job guys.
